재생전원 시스템의 지상 시뮬레이터용 1kW급 재생형 연료전지 개발 (Development of the 1kW Class Regenerative Fuel Cell for Ground Simulator of Regeneration Electric Power System)

  • The PEM type regenerative fuel cell(RFC) for the ground simulator of the regeneration electric power system has been designed, manufactured, and tested. In this paper, the designing and manufacturing procedures of the RFC were presented. Also, the performance test results were showed briefly. The RFC consists of PEM type stack, humidifier, pressure and flow control valve, storage tanks, pump and controller. The performance tests were carried out with stack and system performance tests. The performance targets are more than 50% stack efficiency, 1.5kW stack power, less 400W parasitic power in design condition. Most of the performances required are satisfied.

  • Pipe vibration caused great threat to the safety in production. Strong pipeline vibration will line accessories, especially the joints and pipe fittings etc. pipe joints loosening and rupture, causing serious accidents. By the action of the compressor constant fluid flow within the pipe, this process produces pulsating fluid flow may cause vibration of the pipe, thereby reducing the efficiency of the pipeline, structural vibration induced fatigue, thereby resulting in even piping structural damage. This paper studies on the vibration problems caused by fluid, by analyzing the causes of pipeline vibration and factors affecting pipeline vibrations, FEM (Finite Element Method) analysis of modal and enforced vibration.

  • The objective of this paper is to clarify the flow characteristic, velocity distribution, pressure loss, and other such fundamental data for the canister during loading and purging. The amount of gas that is loaded increases as the loading rate is decreased and the time increased, and the purging improves as the purge rate is increased. The hydrocarbons that are purged initially have a high concentration, and a large amount is purged. During loading and purging, the temperature initially increases and decreases drastically due to heat generation and heat loss.

  • On cold start operation of an SI engine, a catalyst shows poor performance before it reaches activation temperature. Therefore, fast warmup of the catalyst is very crucial to reduce harmful emissions. In this study, an appropriate control strategy is investigated to increase exhaust gas temperature through changes of spark timing. Combustion stability is also considered at the same time. Exhaust gas temperature and pressure of combustion chamber are measured to investigate the effects of spark timings on cold start and idle performance. Experiments showed that retarded spark timing promotes the combustion at the end of expansion stroke and increases exhaust gas temperature during cold start.

  • This paper presents the road simulator control technology for reproducing the road input signal to implement the real road data. The simulator consists of the hydraulic pump, servo valve, hydraulic actuator and its control equipment. The QFT is utilized to control the simulator effectively. The control system illustrates a tracking performance of the closed-loop controller with low order transfer function G(s) and pre-filter F(s) for a parametric uncertain model. A force controller is designed to communicate the control signal between simulator and digital controller. The efficacy of the QFT force controller is verified through the numerical simulation, in which combined dynamics and actuation of the hydraulic servo system are tested. The simulation results show that the proposed control technique works well under uncertain hydraulic plant system. The conventional software (Labview) is used to make up for the real controller in the real-time basis, and the experimental works show that the proposed algorithm works well for a single road simulator.

  • This paper presents a new control mechanism for the proportional pressure control which is accomplished by electro-pneumatic regulator using two PZT actuators. The electro-pneumatic regulator of this study is 2-stage type and consists of two piezoelectric actuators, a controller and a main poppet valve. The piezoelectric actuators are multilayer bender type and are controlled by digital signal. Proportional pressure control technique is very important because that can derive improvement of product quality and driving ability in the pneumatic system. Solenoid actuator method for pressure control is widely used but this actuator has a high power consumption characteristics. So new actuator is required for the energy saving. In this study, PZT actuator for the pressure control was fabricated and experimented instead of the conventional type solenoid actuator. Experiments for the new control mechanism of the elector-pneumatic regulator were operated under the input condition of 0.4[MPa] and it was confirmed that this mechanism has a good control characteristics to the response sensitivity and hysteresis.

주기적 연료 공급이 비애혼합 화염 특성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (The Effects of Periodic Fuel Supply on the Flame Stability and Soot Formation)

  • The effects of periodic fuel supply on the nonpremixed flame stability and soot formation were experimentally studied. A solenoid valve was used to control the period of fuel supply. The laser induced incandescence technique was used to visualize cool: volume fraction profile. The flame base shape was changed significantly by the fuel supply period and partially by the fuel flowrates. The portion of bluish flame near the flame base became larger as the period increased. When the period was long, two flames coexisted within one period. It seemed that the characteristic of flame stability were repeated with 4.68m change of fuel supply line length. The soot mass measurements and soot volume fraction measurements revealed that the maximum suppression of soot by the perioic fuel supply was approximately 75% , which occurred when the occurred when the fuel supply period was relatively long.

연비향상을 위한 하이브리드 엔진 시스템 모델 개발과 최적화에 관한 연구 (Development and Optimization of the Hybrid Engine System Model to Improve the Fuel Economy)

  • The purpose of this study is development of universal engine model for integrated Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) simulator and a optimization of engine model. The engine model of this study is based on the MATLAB Simulink for universal and include engine fuel economy technologies for HEV. Various engine fuel economy technologies for HEV is estimated by commercial engine 1-D simulation program - WAVE. And, the 1-D simulation model of base version is compared with engine experiment result. The analyzed engine technologies with 1-D simulation are Dual-CVVT, Atkinson-Cycle and Cylinder-Deactivation System. There are improvement of fuel economy and power performance with Dual-CVVT model at part load and full load, pumping loss reduction with Cylinder-Deactivation System at idle and regeneration. Each estimated technologies are analyzed by 1-D simulation on all operation region for base data to converse simulink. The simulink based engine model maintains a signal with ECU for determination of engine operation point.

  • This study is a first step toward reducing surge pressure, and it has another purpose, which is to developing an analysis model which can closely analyze a hydraulic circuit and be used in design. For development of analysis model, SimulationX, a commercial program, is used. The study progress methods are as follows. By analyzing the structure and operating mechanisms of each part of the hydraulic system of the pump truck and referring its parameters, develop a single component model. Assemble the developed single component model, and make an overall analysis the model. By comparing the similarities between the developed model and the actual system's test results, validate the reliability of the analysis model.

공압식 능동형 엔진마운트시스템의 최적 제어매개변수 식별 (Identification of Optimal Control Parameters for a Pneumatic Active Engine Mount System)

  • Pneumatic Active Engine Mount(PAEM) with open-loop control system has been developed to reduce the transmission of the idle-shake vibration induced by engine effectively and economically. A solenoid valve installed between PAEM and vacuum tank is on-off switched by the Pulse Width Modulate(PWM) control signal to decrease the dynamic stiffness of the engine mount. This paper presents the methodology to identify the optimal values of control parameters of a PAEM, i.e, turn-on timing and duty ratio of PWM signal for 6 different idle driving conditions. A scanning algorithm was first applied to the vehicle test to obtain the approximate optimal control parameters minimizing the vibration at front seat rail and at steering wheel. Then the PAEM system identification was fulfilled to find accurate optimal control parameters by using multi-layer neural networks of Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm with vehicle test data.
