  • In the current marketplace, there are maturity models, standards, methodologies and guidelines that can help an organization improve the way it does business. All SPI models including ISO/IEC I5504 and CMMI provide the capability level of software process. However, most available improvement models focus on a specific goals and Practices of the processes So my assessors need an objective process measure how to estimate achievement of goals and practices. We proposed quantitative process capability metric (PCM) which can determine the degree of capability And the effective measuring approach help SPI assessor as well as organization unit.

  • In this paper, we build a theoretical framework for quantitatively measuring and graphically representing the degrees of closeness centralization among performers assigned to enact a workflow procedure. The degree of closeness centralization of a workflow-performer reflects how near the performer is to the other performers in enacting a corresponding workflow model designed for workflow-supported organizational operations. The proposed framework comprises three procedural phases and four functional transformations, such as discovery, analysis, and quantitation phases, which carry out ICN-to-WsoN, WsoN-to-SocioMatrix, SocioMatrix-to-DistanceMatrix, and DistanceMatrix-to-CCV transformations. We develop a series of algorithmic formalisms for the procedural phases and their transformative functionalities, and verify the proposed framework through an operational example. Finally, we expatiate on the functional expansion of the closeness centralization formulas so as for the theoretical framework to handle a group of workflow procedures (or a workflow package) with organization-wide workflow-performers.

  • This study evaluated the specialization status of Korean hospitals by applying index measures that were developed to determine how hospitals are specialized. In addition, multivariate regression analysis was applied to assess how the measures responded to the internal and external factors of hospitals. National Health Insurance claims for 2004 were used to calculate the information theory index, internal Herfindahl index, number of distinct diagnosis-related groups (DRGs) treated, and percent of the five most common DRGs. Data from the Ministry of Health and Welfare and Korean Hospital Association were used to determine the size, ownership, teaching status, organization type, and location of the hospitals. The four indexes analyzed showed that there were significant differences in the specialization status of providers, depending on the provider size, organization type, and location. Hospitals that were smaller and located in metropolitan areas tended to provide specialized services; this is considered to constitute a competitive strategy for hospitals. It is expected that specialized hospitals will increase given the current market structure. Therefore, policy makers will need an index for measuring how hospital services are specialized. Information from such an index could provide a picture of how hospital services are mixed and change over time.

  • The research tris to provide some basic data for the efficient method of human resources management and the efficiency of hospital organization by drawing how servant leadership of physical therapists has impact on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. As a measuring device the method of self-fill-in questionnaire survey was utilized and the correlation and regression analysis was practiced on demographic property, the relationships of 11 kinds of variables between servant leadership and organizational commitment. Job satisfaction was concerned with internal motivation, autonomy, hearing, altruistic vocation, community sense, sympathy formation, vision in the positive order, while organizational commitment was concerned with internal motivation, altruistic vocation, vision, autonomy, community sense, hearing, and sympathy formation is the positive order. Supervisors of physical therapists should try to strive to fulfill the demands of therapists in their position, suggest the vision and objectives to them, and enhance their community sense. As a result, supervisors of physical therapists can enhance job satisfaction and organizational commitment in the position of their employees.

  • Most organizations have recently put more emphasis on the improvement in service quality. This phenomenon could come from the recognition that service quality plays an essential role in enhancing organization's business performance. Hence this paper presents a framework for improving such service quality. The presented framework involves the methodology for (i) developing service quality indices, (ii) measuring and evaluating service quality, (iii) analyzing the level of service quality, (iv) constructing the quality improvement road map, (v) determining the quality improvement action plan. This methodology is intended to create self-sustaining improvement in service quality from the entire organization's perspective. An illustration is also given.

  • The safety culture of an organization is the product of individual and group values, attitudes, perceptions, competencies, and patterns of behavior that determine the commitment, the style and proficiency, and an organization's health and safety management. A good safety culture includes effective, appropriate safety management systems; strong safety leadership & commitment from management; participation and involvement of the workforce; and organizational learning and continuous improvement. This paper will introduce the safety culture inspection standards and process in Korea Railway. The main purpose is to get a better understanding of safety culture and to develop measuring tool. First of all we developed the composition factor of safety culture and the question set. And we prepared the base of computerization of safety culture measurement by developing of evaluation standards and weighted value.

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of communication-structure characteristics on performance in online collaboration using the data from Github, one of representative open source software development platforms. We analyze the impact of in-degree/out-degree centralization and reciprocity of communication network on collaboration performance in each project. In addition, we investigate the moderating effect of owner types, an individual developer or an organization. Design/methodology/approach We collect the data of 838 Github projects, and conduct social network analysis for measuring in-degree/out-degree centralization and reciprocity as independent variables. With these variables, hierarchical regression analysis is employed on the relationship between the characteristics of communication structure and collaborative performance. Findings Our results show that for the project owned by an organization, the centralized structure of communication is not associated with the collaboration performance. In addition, the reciprocity is positively related to the collaboration performance. On the other hand, for the project owned by an individual developer, the centralized structure of communication is positively related to the performance, and the reciprocity does not show the positive relationship on the performance.

  • Human error is often in part in the cause of accidents and the result of various factors in an organization. Accidents should be investigated to elucidate all causes. Therefore, to reduce accidents, it is necessary to identify which factors affect human error within the organization. In this study, five groups of influencing factors on human error were selected using previousresearch, and operational definitions were made based on them. In addition, a questionnaire for measuring latent variables by operational definition was developed as an observation variable, and responses were received from employees of chemical companies in Ulsan. Based on SEM (structural equation modeling) analysis, 1) confirmatory factor analysis of variables in the human error model, 2) reliability and validity of latent variables, 3) correlations among latent variables, 4) influencing coefficients among influence factors, and 5) the verification results of the paths that these influencing factors have on human error are introduced in this study.

  • For many years, many academics and practitioners have paid attention to the increasing popularity of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and its relationship with financial performance. They have shown that creating social and sustainable responsibility can strengthen the organization's financial performance as the organization can achieve its current needs without compromising the ability to meet future needs. While much theoretical and empirical evidence has been provided to support this argument in developed countries, this topic is under-researched, and the outcomes are controversial in developing countries. Therefore, this paper aims to examine and investigate the relationship between corporate social responsibility and financial performance in Vietnamese organizations. The dataset includes 27 firms listed on the stock market exchanges in Ho Chi Minh city (HOSE) and Hanoi (HNX) from 2015 to 2019. The disclosure approach is adopted to measure corporate social activities; four areas were developed: environment, community, employee and product, customer, and supplier practices. Return on average equity (ROE) and return on average assets (ROA) are two proxies for measuring financial performance. The research results confirm the existing literature with a strong correlation between employees and returns on average assets.
