The relationship between antioxidant activities and physicochemical properties of several fractions obtained from freeze-dried (FD) coffee were investigated. The nine kinds of fraction were consecutively extracted from FD coffee with solvents in increasing order of polarity, and the higher polarity of the solvent the higher extraction yield of the fraction. The antioxidant activities of the fractions were determined by Rancimat and oven test on edible oils. The antioxidant activities of the fractions increased in the order of acetone>ethanol>methanol>50% methanol/water>water fraction, and the antioxidant activities of them were higher on lard than on soybean oil. The antioxidant activity of each fraction was strongly related to the contents of total phenol, total nitrogen content and acidity, whereas color intensity, reducing power, carboxylic acid content showed little contribution to the activity. All fractions had three peaks maxima at 208, 275 and 324 nm on UV-visible spectra, but the only one at 324 nm was linealy proportional to the antioxidant activities of the fractions.
The polycrystalline powder of (BaLa)(MgMo)$O_6$ has been prepared at $1350^{\circ}C$ in a nitrogen flowing atmosphere. The powder X-ray diffraction pattern indicates that (BaLa)(MgMo)$O_6$ has a cubic perovskite structure ($a_0$ = 8.019(3) $\AA)$ with 1:1 ordering or $Mg^{2+}$ and $Mo^{5+}$ in the oxide lattice. The infrared spectrum shows two strong absorption bands with their maxima at 600(${\nu}3$) and 365(${\nu}4$) cm-1, which are attributed to $2T_{1U}$, modes of molybdenum octahedra MoO6 in the crystal lattice. According to the magnetic susceptibility measurement, the compound shows a paramagnetic behavior which follows the Curie-Weiss law below room temperature with the effective magnetic moment 1.60(1){$\mu}B$, which is consistent with that of spin only value ($1.73{\mu}B$) for $Mo^{5+}$ ($4d^1$ electronic configuration). From the thermogravimetric and X-ray diffraction analyses, it has been found that (BaLa)(MgMo)$O_6$ decomposes gradually into $BaMoO_4$, $MoO_3$ and unidentified phases above $900^{\circ}C$ in an ambient atmosphere, absorbing about 0.25 mole $O_2$ per mole of Mo ion, which also supports that oxidation state of $Mo^{5+}$ in the (BaLa)(MgMo)$O_6$.
The binding characteristics and analytical applications of anilinium ion complexes with 18-crown-6 were studied by polarography and NMR. First, the electrochemical reduction of the 10 species of mono and dimethylsubstituted anilinium ion complexes with 18-crown-6 as host in methanol are examined. The addition of 18-crown-6 to anilinium guest solution the polarographic waves remain well defined but shifted toward more negative potentials, indicating the complex formation. The values of formation constants, log Κ for 10 species of methylsubstituted anilinium ion complexes with 18-crown-6 varies from 2.7 to 4.8 in methanol at $25^{\circ}C$. The stability order of complexes for 18-crown-6 is anilinilum > 4-methyl > 3,4-dimethyl > 3-methyl > 3,5-dimethyl > 2,4-dimethyl > 2,5-dimethyl > 2,3-dimethyl > 2-methyl > 2,6-dimethylanilinium ion. The steric hindrance shows significant effect. Second, Proton NMR was used to elucidate their interaction characteristics. From the results of so called NMR titration techniques, the behaviors of binding sites on complexation, and the stoichiometry and stability order of complex were obtained. And the later results show the satisfactory agreement with the quantitative values obtained by polarography. Finally, the individual determinations of anilinium ion mixtures were also accomplished by addition of 18-crown-6. In some mixtures of methyl or dimethylanilinium ions the reduction peaks of differential pulse method appeared into one unresolved wave attributed to the small difference of half-wave potential, ${\Delta}E_{1/2}$. In the presence of 18-crown-6, the polarographic waves were resolved into individual maxima because of the shift toward more negative direction by the difference of selectivity of anilinium ions with 18-crown-6. It may be concluded that quantitative analysis of methylanilinium ion mixture make possible because the half-wave potential shift by the selectivity difference due to the steric hindrance between methyl group and 18-crown-6 on complexation.

A series of azo based disperse dyes were synthesized and applied to polyester(PET) fiber in supercritical carbon dioxide($ScCO_2$). Various aniline derivatives were used as diazo component and coupled with glycine ethylester or carbonic acid ethylester derivatives to give azo based disperse dyes. Depending on the various diazo substituents, absorption maxima varied from 415 to 529nm in acetone. Dyeing in $ScCO_2$ was carried out at $120^{\circ}C$ and 250bar pressure for 2hrs with 0.5% o.w.f. of dye concentration. Dyed PET fiber had excellent brightness and good light, washing and perspiration(acid/alkali) fastness properties.

The effects of activator ion on the structural, morphological, and optical properties of $LaNbO_4:RE^{3+}$ (RE = Dy, Dy/Sm, Sm) phosphors were investigated. X-ray diffraction patterns exhibited that all the phosphors showed a monoclinic system with a main (112) diffraction peak, irrespective of the concentration and type of activator ions. The grain size showed a slightly decreasing tendency as the concentration of $Sm^{3+}$ ions increased. The excitation spectra of the $LaNbO_4:Dy^{3+}$, $Sm^{3+}$ phosphor powders consisted of a strong charge transfer band centered at 259 nm in the range of 220-290 nm and five weak peaks. The emission spectra of the $La_{0.95}NbO_4$:5 mol% $Dy^{3+}$ phosphors exhibited two intense yellow and blue bands centered at 575 nm and 479 nm respectively, which resulted from the $^4F_{9/2}{\rightarrow}^6H_{13/2}$ and $^4F_{9/2}{\rightarrow}^6H_{15/2}$ transitions of $Dy^{3+}$. As the concentration of $Sm^{3+}$ was increased, the intensity of the yellow emission band was gradually decreased, while those of orange and red emission bands centered at 604 and 646 nm began to appear and reached maxima at 5 mol%, and then decreased rapidly with further increases in the $Sm^{3+}$ concentration. These results indicated that white light emission could be realized by controlling the concentrations of the $Dy^{3+}$ and $Sm^{3+}$ ions incorporated into the $LaNbO_4$ host crystal.
$BaSiO_3:RE^{3+}$ (RE = Sm or Eu) phosphor powders with different concentrations of activator ions are synthesized using the solid-state reaction method. The effects of the concentration of activator ions on the structural, photoluminescent, and morphological properties of the barium silicate phosphors are investigated. X-ray diffraction data reveals that the crystal structure of all the phosphors, regardless of the type and the concentration of the activator ions, is an orthorhombic system with a main (111) diffraction peak. The grain particles agglomerate together to form larger clusters with increasing concentrations of activator ions. The emission spectra of the $Sm^{3+}$-doped $BaSiO_3$ phosphors under excitation at 406 nm consist of an intense orange band at 604 nm and three weak bands centered at 567, 651, and 711 nm, respectively. As the concentration of $Sm^{3+}$ increases from 1 to 5 mol%, the intensities of all the emission bands gradually increase, reach maxima at 5 mol% of $Sm^{3+}$ ions, and then decrease significantly with further increases in the $Sm^{3+}$ concentration due to the concentration quenching phenomenon. For the $Eu^{3+}$-doped $BaSiO_3$ phosphors, a strong red emission band at 621 nm and several weak bands are observed. The optimal orange and red light emissions of the $BaSiO_3$ phosphors are obtained when the concentrations of $Sm^{3+}$ and $Eu^{3+}$ ions are 5 mol% and 15 mol%, respectively.
The characteristics of the sea breeze were investigated using the wind and temperature data collected from 300-m tower at Boseong from May 2014 to April 2018. Sea breeze day was detected using following criteria: 1) the presence of a clear change in wind direction near sunrise (between 1 hour after sunrise and 5 hours before sunset) and sunset (from 1500 LST to midnight), 2) presence of thermal forcing of sea breeze and 3) no heavy precipitation (rain < $10mm\;d^{-1}$). Sea breeze days occurred on 569 days for 4 years. The monthly distribution of sea breeze day occurrence shows maxima in May and September and minimum in December. The average onset and cessation times of the sea breeze are 0942 LST and 1802 LST, respectively. Although the 10-m wind shows clockwise rotation with time in the afternoon, the observed hodograph does not show an ideal elliptical shape and has different characteristics depending on the upper synoptic wind direction. Vertical structure of sea breeze shows local maximum of wind speed and local minimum of virtual potential temperature at 40 m in the afternoon for most synoptic conditions except for southeasterly synoptic wind ($60^{\circ}{\sim}150^{\circ}$) which is in the same direction as onshore flow. The local minimum of temperature is due to cold advection by sea breeze. During daytime, the intensity of inversion layer above 40 m is strongest in westerly synoptic wind ($240^{\circ}{\sim}330^{\circ}$) which is in the opposite direction to onshore flow.

This study was conducted to provide ecological basic data that use to establish environmental conditions for cultivation of wild vegetables in 2016-2018. Therefore, we investigated the vegetation structure and the correlation between the community structure and the environmental factors for natural habitats of wild vegetables(Aster glehni, Allium ochotense, and Aruncus sylvester) distributed in Ulleungdo. As a result of population and gradient analysis, the vegetation was classified into Aster glehni community, Allium ochotense community, and Aruncus sylvester community. We confirmed that the classification by population analysis was consistent with that by TWINSPAN method, suggesting that they were complemented each other. The importance value of Aster glehni was the highest in all communities, followed by Aruncus sylvester, Allium ochotense, Hydrangea petiolaris, Dryopteris crassirhizoma, Asperula ldorata, Phryma leptostachya var. asiatica, Disporum viridrescens, Hedera rhombea, Anthriscus sylvestris, and Hepatica maxima. According to the results of DCCA ordination analysis, among those communities, the Aster glehni community was distributed in soil where the nutrition including T-N and O.M. were intermediate. The Allium ochotense community was distributed on the a little high northern slope at the highest altitude where the CEC and O.M. were the highest, and other nutrition and pH were low. The Aruncus sylvester was distributed on high slope and altitude on which the amount of exchangeable cation such as $Ca^{{+}{+}}$, $Mg^{{+}{+}}$ and pH were high, and the CEC, $P_2O_5$, and O.M. were the lowest.

The silver colloidal effects on the excited-state structure and intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) of p-N,N-dimethylaminobenzoic acid (DMABA) in aqueous cyclodextrin (CD) solutions have been investigated by UV-VIS absorption, steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence, and transient Raman spectroscopy. As the concentration of silver colloids increases, the ratio of the ICT emission to the normal emission (Ia /Ib) of DMABA in the aqueous $\alpha-CD$ solutions are greatly decreased while the Ia /Ib values in the aqueous B-CD solutions are significantly enhanced. It is also noteworthy that the ICT emission maxima are red-shifted by 15-40 nm upon addition of silver colloids, implying that DMABA encapsulated in $\alpha-CD$ or B-CD cavity is exposed to more polar environment. The transient resonance Raman spectra of DMABA in silver colloidal solutions demonstrate that DMABA in the excited-state is desorbed from silver colloidal surfaces as demonstrated by the disappearance of νs (CO2-)(1380 cm-1 ) with appearance of ν(C-OH)(1280 cm -1) band, respectively. Thus, in the aqueous B-CD solutions the carboxylic acid group of DMABA in the excited-state can be readily hydrogen-bonded with the secondary hydroxyl group of B-CD while in aqueous and $\alpha-CD$ solutions the carboxylic acid group of DMABA has the hydrogen-bonding interaction with water. Consequently, in the aqueous B-CD solutions the enhancement of the Ia /Ia value arises from the intermolecular hydrogen-bonding interaction between DMABA and the secondary hydroxyl group of B-CD as well as the lower polarity of the rim of the B-CD cavity compared to bulk water. This is also supported by the increase of the association constant for DMABA/ B-CD complex in the presence of silver colloids.
