한국산 날개망둑의 생태학적 연구 (An Ecological Study on Gobioid (Favonigobius gymnauchen) in Korea)

  • For the ecological study on the gobioid (Favonigobius gymnauchen), samples were collected in the Korean coasts from 1983 to 1995, and the process of ovarian maturation, spawning season, settling period of young individuals and growth were investigated with the specimens collected from Kunsan coast. The ovarian egg development of this species underwent three stages; growth stage from March to April, maturity stage from May to June and spawning stage in July. All the adults died after spawning in late July. Young individuals of total length 10 mm began to live a bottom life in the tide pool of shallow waters in early and middle August. The total length of these individuals reached about 42.1 mm (mean 36.7 mm) in late November. The largest specimen examined in this study was 85.0mm of male. After that time, individuals of this species inhabited in subtidal zone from December to May of the next year. The Favonigobius gymnauchen is distributed at 17 areas of shallow waters and estuaries in the western and southern coasts of Korea.

한국 동해안 대게 Chionoecetes opilio의 생식소 성숙과 산란 (Maturation of Reproductive Organs and Spawning of the Snow Crab Chionoecetes opilio from the East Sea of Korea)

  • Reproductive ecology of the snow crab Chionoecetes opilio was investigated in terms of the reproductive organs, abdominal flap, fecundity, and maturity. Specimens were collected with gill nets and trawls from June 2002 to May 2003 in the eastern waters of Korea. The female and male C. opilio are distinguished only by the shape of the abdominal flap, which is triangular in males and circular in females. The gonads of female and male crabs are generally X-shaped. The male gonad is white, while the female gonad appears milk-white after spawning and then turns from light orange to dark orange with maturation. The female gonads matured from June, and mature and immature groups could be distinguished from December to February or March. Brooding eggs changed from bright orange to dark brown with formation of the compound eye immediately before hatching. Accordingly, the main spawning season is February and March. The minimum maturity carapace width of female crabs was 61.1 mm, and the mean fecundity is about 108,300 eggs.

  • Maturation and spawning of the jack mackerel, Trachurus japonicus was investigated based on the samples captured in the coastal waters around Jeju Island from January 2007 to December 2008. Gonadosomatic index began to increase in March, and reached a maximum between April to June. After spawning it began to decrease from August. Reproductive season was estimated to March-July, with peak in April. Fecundity was proportional to the size of the female, with the clutch size varying from 33,493 eggs in the smallest female(FL=27.0cm) to 627,061 eggs in the largest(FL=40.6cm). Size at 50% sexual maturity(FL50), determined from mature females, was 26.6cm FL. Annual reproductive cycles of this species could be divided into six successive stages; immature stage(September-December), nucleolus stage(January-February), yolk vesicle stage(February-March), vitellogenic stage(March-April), ripe stage(April-July) and spent stage(July-September).

  • In this study, we examined the maturation and spawning of yellowback seabream Dentex tumifrons using samples collected by monthly bottom trawling in Korean coastal waters from January to December 2018. We analyzed monthly changes in gonadosomatic index (GSI), maturity stage, histology, fecundity, and total length at group maturity. Spawning occurred in May and October. Fecundity varied with total length as F=1.3754TL3.2664, with a range of 1,220 to 155,625 eggs per female. At group maturity, 50%, 75%, and 97.5% estimates of female total length were 18.4, 20.5, and 25.3 cm, respectively.

Gonadosomatic index began to increase in November, and reached maximum between December and January. After spawning it began to decrease from March. Reproductive season was estimated to November-February, with peak in January. Fecundity was proportional to the size of the female, with the clutch size varying from 753,985 eggs in the smallest female(TL=58.6cm) to 9,311,520 eggs in the largest(TL=101.0cm). Size at 50% sexual maturity(TL50%) determined from mature females was 56.3cm of TL. Annual reproductive cycles of this species could be divided into six successive stages; immature stage(March-September), nucleolus stage(September-October), yolk vesicle stage(October-November), vitellogenic stage (November-December), ripe stage and spent stage(December-February).

김제산 가무락조개 Cyclina sinensis의 난소 성숙과 인공산란 및 산란빈도 (Ovarian Maturation, Artificial Spawning and Spawning Frequency of the Venus Clam, Cyclina sinensis, in the Gimje Coastal Waters of Korea)

  • 2001년 1월부터 2001년 12월까지 전라북도 김제시 심포 앞바다에서 각장 18.6-52.7 mm 의 가무락조개 (Cyclina sinensis) 를 대상으로 자원증식 및 적정 관리를 위해 조직학적 방법에 의해 생식소발달단계에 따른 생식주기와 군성숙도를 조사하였고 인공산란 유도에 의해 산란량과 산란빈도를 조사하였다. 생식소 발달단계에 따른 생식주기를 조직학적으로 조사한 결과 가무락조개의 생식주기는 초기활성기 (2-4월), 후기활성기 (3-6월), 완숙기 (5-8월), 부분산란기 (7-9월), 퇴화 및 비활성기 (9-2월) 의 연속적인 5단계로 구분할 수 있었다. 7월부터 산란하기 시작하여 9월 중순까지 일어났고 산란성기는 7-8월이었다. 각장 25.1-30.0 mm인 암컷 개체들의 군성숙도는 64.3%이었고, 각장 40.1 mm이상인 개체들의 군성숙도는 100%이었다. 인공산란 유도에 의해 각 개체들로부터 방란된 난수는 개체들의 각장이 증가됨에 따라 증가되었다. 2차 산란유도에 의해 방란된 평균 난수는 1차 산란수의 평균 76.87%이었다. 가무락조개의 각 산란 간격은 대략 15-17일 (평균 16.5) 이었고, 한 산란기 중 2회 이상의 산란이 일어날 것으로 추정되었다.

Change of Various Characteristics between Spawning and Non-spawning Season in Diploid and Induced Triploid Far Eastern Catfish, Silurus asotus

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences fatty acids and hormonal parameters in the spawning and non-spawning season between the diploid and induced triploid Far Eastern catfish, Silurus asotus. The measured triploids were produced by cold shock for 50 min at $4^{\circ}C$ in May 2014, the spawning season of diploid was in May, and the non-spawning season was designated in January. Estradiol and testosterone and gonadosomatic index of diploid were higher than those of induced triploid in spawning season (P<0.05), and those of diploid in spawning season were higher than non-spawning season. On the other hand, thyroid stimulating hormone and thyroxine of induced triploid were higher than those of diploid in spawning season (P<0.05). Erythrocyte count of diploid was higher than that of induced triploid in spawning season and non-spawning seasons. Mean corpuscular volume and mean corpuscular hemoglobin of induced triploid were higher than those of diploid in both seasons (P<0.05). Percentages of total saturated fatty acids and n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids of induced triploid were higher than those of diploid in spawning season, but those of diploid were higher in non-spawning season (P<0.05). Percentages of total mono unsaturated fatty acids and total n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids of diploid were higher than those of induced triploids in spawning season, while those of induced triploid in non-spawning season were higher (P<0.05). Therefore, induced triploids in the spawning season tend to concentrate on growth and lipid-synthesization, whereas, diploids concentrate on reproduction and gonadal maturation rather than on growth. In non-spawning season, growth and lipid-synthesization were not significantly different between diploid and induced triploid.

  • Maturation and spawning of the Shotted halibut, Eopsetta grigorjewi was investigated based on the samples captured in South Korean waters from January 2008 to December 2009. Gonadosomatic index began to increase in December, and reached maximum between January to March. After spawning it began to decrease from May. Reproductive season was estimated to January-April, with peak in February. Fecundity was proportional to the size of the female, with the clutch size varying from 170,000 eggs in the smallest female (total length, 28.9cm) to 1,300,000 eggs in the largest (total length, 41.5cm). Size at 50% sexual maturity (TL50), determined from mature females, was 28.8cm. Annual reproductive cycles of this species could be divided into six successive stages; immature stage (May-October), nucleolus stage (November-January), yolk vesicle stage (January-February), vitellogenic and ripe stage (January-April) and spent stage (April-May).

  • Maturation and spawning of the Blackthroat seaperch, Doderleinia berycoides were investigated based on the samples captured in Korean waters from January 2008 to December 2009. Gonadosomatic index began to increase in June, and reached maximum between July to September. After spawning it began to decrease from October. Reproductive season was estimated to July-September, with peak in August. Fecundity was proportional to the size of the female, with the clutch size varying from 115,500 eggs in the smallest female (TL〓28.2cm) to 652,000 eggs in the largest (TL〓33.5cm). Size at 50% sexual maturity ($TL_{50}$), determined from mature females, was 29.6cm.
