  • The purpose of this research was to investigate science teachers' thoughts about hypotheses and rules related to the contents of ninth grade 'Construction of Matter' and 'Rules of Matter Change' chapters. The changes of their thoughts through experience of the abduction viewpoint were also analyzed. Twenty-two science teachers in the masters course took lessons and discussions related to the abduction viewpoint in the course of three weeks. The changes in thought of four teachers selected among them were investigated through individual interviews and their reports. From the investigation, it was found that the two teachers who had not recognized the problems of textbook content order could distinguish rules and hypotheses after the lessons and discussions. The two teachers who had recognized the problems before the lessons gained the abduction viewpoint through the lessons. They also recognized new opinions related to teaching styles for students and the meaning of the abduction viewpoint on education.

  • This study aimed to analyze the historical evolution of general ideas concerning the particles that represent matter properties and matter changes divided into physical change and chemical change. In the science historical viewpoint, the general ideas of the base that represent matter properties has been variously revised the 5types. The definition of the matter change have also changed the 3 types. From the analysis of the definitions in secondary school science textbooks and general chemistry textbooks, we found that a lot of confusion of eras in the contents that define the concepts. Sometimes, the definition presented in one textbook was contradictory to the definitions in other textbooks. This tendency has been sustained in the textbooks from the 4th to 7th science curriculum.

  • School geometry takes various approaches such as deductive, analytic, and vector methods. Especially, the mathematical connections between these methods are closely related to the mathematical connections between geometry and algebra. This article analysed the geometric consequences of vector algebra from the viewpoint of teacher's subject-matter knowledge and investigated the connections between the geometric proof and the algebraic proof with vector and inner product.

  • Higgs boson enables the Standard Model (SM) to be established. However, we do not know much about dark matter which occupies approximately six times of the SM particles in universe besides having mass. The interactions of dark matter is much weaker than that of the SM. Further, its mass range is very wide, from the order of eV to PeV. Therefore, many experiments have contributed to search for dark matter by indirect, direct and accelerator research. This paper reviews researches on dark matter using accelerator, especially the $e^+e^-$ collider, from the viewpoint of experimental high energy physicists.

  • It is very important thing providing basic theoretical structure to research about computer education to establish scientific identity of computer education. In addition, it will be expect to contribute qualitative improvement of computer education. As this viewpoint, I discussed about education in knowledge-information based society and the relation between knowledge, information, and ICT in this study. Through this discussion, I researched necessity and direction of computer education. Also, I researched the concept of computer subject matter education from discussion about the concept of subject matter education. In addition, I surveyed the concept, premises and elements of subject matter education, and I led the structure and direction of the computer subject matter education as subject matter education.

  • In this study, the existing concept of density has a limitation in providing the cause of phenomena, and the concept of buoyancy poses a problem because it has many misconceptions and requires an overly difficult concept to understand quantitative calculation, so we suggest an explaining method as process viewpoint introducing the principle of lever. The new method of explanation has been proposed using the lever as visual tool to reveal the gravity as the fundamental principle and process viewpoint. As a result, teachers stayed on many alternative concepts and less than half of the teachers were aware that density was related to gravity. In addition, they recognized it as matter viewpoints, but there is a meaningful conceptual change after intervention(p<.000). Also, they evaluated that the new method is better able to recognize the principle and process viewpoint than the existing description method. Through this, we can confirm the educational value of explaining method as process viewpoint introducing the principle of lever.

  • In spite of the well confirmed advantages of wilting on the fermentation quality, wilting silages are difficult to make at optimum dry matter content. The prolonged wilting, especially in humid condition, result in lower water soluble carbohydrate (WSC) contents, extensive protein breakdown and sometimes higher total volatile fatty acid (VFA) during wilting an ensilage. Apart from difficulty of controlling moisture content, another problem associated with wilted silages is different evaluation on the potential productivity. In temperature climate of Asia, therefore further researches on the effects of wilting on the silage fermentation and potential productivity seen to be necessary.

  • This study was to analyze science process skills related to 'state of matter' and 'state change of matter' in the kindergarten, elementary and middle school science textbooks. On the base of articulation, we analyzed science textbooks of the 5th kindergarten curriculum, the 6th elementary school science curriculum and the 6th middle school science curriculum. The findings indicated that the scientific inquiry abilities of predicting, classifying, hypothesizing and designing investigations are not enough in all grade science textbooks. Also, while young children have measuring ability theoretically, it was represented only in high grade textbooks. We concluded that these were inappropriate from the viewpoint of articulation which is related to scientific inquiry ability.

  • The purpose of this study is to inquire the building process of Pedagogical Content Knowledge of prospective mathematics teachers about the function concepts. For this purpose, We performed the following steps; First, we performed the survey relaying to the prospective mathematics teachers' teaching experiences, capabilities of their error evaluation of the students, and viewpoints about the function concepts. Second, we performed the survey on the subject-matter knowledge about the function concepts and the key items of designing teaching plans about the function concepts. And then, we interviewed the participants to check the results of the surveys and to supplement the necessary contents. The collected data was relatively correlative and analyzed in the process. As a result, we found the followings; First, subject-matter knowledge of prospective mathematics teachers about the function concepts is different depending on the grades. Second, prospective mathematics teachers are building more extended function concepts through the major subjects. Third, the major subjects are important to build the Pedagogical Content Knowledge of function concepts. Fourth, teaching experience plays an important role in transforming subject-matter knowledge of function concepts to Pedagogical Content Knowledge of it. Fifth, building the Pedagogical Content Knowledge means transferring the teacher's viewpoint from himself/herself to the learner.
