  • Many photovoltaic(PV) systems are being developed and installed. For a PV developer, simulations are required before the experimental testing. However, most simulation tools do not offer data libraries for PV systems, so that some Institutes who try to use such software will be in difficulty. In this paper, simulations of performance and stability have been carried out using the software PSPICE. In this paper, the modelling of solar cell arrays, photovoltaic modules, PV generators, batteries and drive systems is carried out based on mathematical equivalence circuits and available data, and the models are converted into a data library for PSPICE that is user friendly. System variations can be modeled by simple parameter variation. To verify the accuracy of the simulation library, various models were run and compared to known systems.

  • Vacuum simulation is associated with the prediction and calculation of how materials, pumps and systems will perform using mathematical equations. In this investigation, three different high vacuum systems were simulated and estimated with each vacuum characteristics by VacTran simulator. In each of modelled vacuum systems, selection of gas loads into vessel, combination of rough and high vacuum pumps and dimension of conductance elements were proposed as system variables. In pump station model, the pumping speed to pressures by the combination of root pump was analyzed under the variations of vessel volume. In this study, the effects of outgassing dependent on vessel materials was also simulated and aluminum vessel was estimated to optimum materials. It was obtained from the modelling with diffusion pump that the diameter, length of 50×250[mm]roughing line was characterized as optimum variables to reach the ultimate pressure of 10E-7[torr]. Optimum design factors for vacuum characteristics of modelled vacuum system were achieved by VacTran simulator. Feasibility of VacTran as vacuum simulator was verified and applications of VacTran in high tech process expected to be increased.

  • Recently, promising structural technologies like multi-function, ultra-load bearing capacity and tailored structures have been put up for discussions. Finite Element (FE) modelling is probably the best-known option capable of treating these superior properties and multi-domain behavior structures. However, advanced materials such as Functionally Graded Material (FGM) and nanocomposites suffer from problems resulting from variable material properties, reinforcement aggregation and mesh generation. Motivated by these factors, this research proposes a unified shape function for FGM, nanocomposites, graded nanocomposites, in addition to traditional isotropic and orthotropic structural materials. It depends not only on element length but also on the beam's material properties and geometric characteristics. The systematic mathematical theory and FE formulations are based on the Timoshenko beam theory for beam structure. Furthermore, the introduced element achieves C1 degree of continuity. The model is proved to be convergent and free-off shear locking. Moreover, numerical results for static and free vibration analysis support the model accuracy and capabilities by validation with different references. The proposed technique overcomes the issue of continuous properties modelling of these promising materials without discarding older ones. Therefore, introduced benchmark improvements on the FE old concept could be extended to help the development of new software features to confront the rapid progress of structural materials.

  • Nominalization is one of the grammatical metaphors, and it is the representation of verbal meaning through noun equivalent phrases. In mathematical word problems, texts using nominalization have both the advantage of clarifying the object to be noted in the mathematization stage, and the disadvantage of complicating sentence structure, making it difficult to understand the sentences and hindering the experience of the full steps in mathematical modelling. The purpose of this study is to analyze word problems in the textbooks from the perspective of nominalization, a linguistic element, and to derive implications in relation to students' difficulties during solving the word problems. To this end, the types of nominalization of 341 word problems from the content domain of 'Numbers and Operations' of elementary math textbooks according to the 2015 revised national curriculum were analyzed in four aspects: grade-band group, main class and unit assessment, specialized class, and mathematical expression required word problems. Based on the analysis results, didactical implications related to the linguistic expression of the mathematical word problems were derived.

  • Cultivating mathematical creativity is one of the aims in the recently revised mathematics curricular. However, there have been lack of researches on how to nurture mathematical creativity for ordinary students. Perspective of Realistic Mathematics Education(RME), which pursues education of creative person as the ultimate goal of mathematics education, could be useful for developing principles and methods for cultivating mathematical creativity. This study reanalyzes RME from the points of view in mathematical creativity education. Major findings are followed. First, students should have opportunities for mathematical creation through mathematization, while seeking and creating certainty. Second, it is vital to begin with realistic contexts to guarantee mathematical creation by students, in which students can imagine or think. Third, students can create mathematics in realistic contexts by modelling. Fourth, students create the meaning of 'model of(MO)', which models the given context, the meaning of 'model for(MF)', which models formal mathematics. Then, students create MOs and MFs that are equivalent to the intial MO and MF given by textbook or teacher. Flexibility, fluency, and novelty could be employed to evaluate the MOs and the MFs created by students. Fifth, cultivation of mathematical creativity can be supported from development of local instructional theories by thought experiment, its application, and reflection. In conclusion, to employ the education model of cultivating mathematical creativity by RME drawn in this study could be reasonable when design mathematics lessons as well as mathematics curriculum to include mathematical creativity as one of goals.

  • An integrated model is developed in this paper for the performance assessment of high level radioactive waste repository. This integrated model consists of two simple mathematical models. One is a multiple-barrier failure model of the repository system based on constant failure rates which provides source terms to biosphere. The other is a biosphere model which has multiple pathways for radionuclides to reach to human. For the parametric uncertainty and sensitivity analysis for the risk assessment of high level radioactive waste repository, Latin hypercube sampling and rank correlation techniques are applied to this model. The former is cost-effective for large computer programs because it gives smaller error in estimating output distribution even with smaller number of runs compared to crude Monte Carlo technique. The latter is good for generating dependence structure among samples of input parameters. It is also used to find out the most sensitive, or important, parameter groups among given input parameters. The methodology of the mathematical modelling with statistical analysis will provide useful insights to the decision-making of radioactive waste repository selection and future researches related to uncertain and sensitive input parameters.

  • The present paper deals with the determination of temperature, displacement and thermal stresses in a semi-infinite hollow circular disk due to internal heat generation within it. Initially the disk is kept at arbitrary temperature F(r, z). For times t > 0 heat is generated within the circular disk at a rate of g(r, z, t) $Btu/hr.ft^3$. The heat flux is applied on the inner circular boundary (r = a) and the outer circular boundary (r = b). Also, the lower surface (z = 0) is kept at temperature $Q_3(r,t)$ and the upper surface ($Z={\infty}$) is kept at zero temperature. Hollow circular disk extends in the z-direction from z = 0 to infinity. The governing heat conduction equation has been solved by using finite Hankel transform and the generalized finite Fourier transform. As a special case mathematical model is constructed for different metallic disk have been considered. The results are obtained in series form in terms of Bessel's functions. These have been computed numerically and illustrated graphically.

  • This paper studies the energies and energy release rate (ERR) for the initially rotationally symmetric compressed (or stretched) in the inward (outward) radial direction of the PZT/Elastic/PZT sandwich circular plate with interface penny-shaped cracks. The investigations are made by utilizing the so-called three-dimensional linearized field equations and relations of electro-elasticity for piezoelectric materials. The quantities related to the initial stress state are determined within the scope of the classical linear theory of piezoelectricity. Mathematical formulation of the corresponding problem and determination of the quantities related to the stress-strain state which appear as a result of the action of the uniformly normal additional opening forces acting on the penny-shaped crack's edges are made within the scope of the aforementioned three-dimensional linearized field equations solution which is obtained with the use of the FEM modelling. Numerical results of the energies and ERR and the influence of the problem parameters on these quantities are presented and discussed for the PZT- 5H/Al/PZT-5H, PZT-4/Al/PZT-4, $BaTiO_3/Al/BaTiO_3$ and PZT-5H/StPZT-5H sandwich plates. In particular, it is established that the magnitude of the influence of the piezoelectricity and initial loading on the ERR increases with crack radius length.

  • This paper deals with an analysis of multipath which affect a transmission performance in underwater acoustic channel. Underwater acoustic channel with multipath structure is introduced to mathematical modelling for a basin environment. In this paper, SMR(Signal to Multipath Ratio) which is defined as a parameter of multipath's effect is presented as a mathematical equation, and the equation of SMR is simulated by MATLAB program. Furthermore, this paper is also dealt with an implementation of modulation and demodulation system for acoustic transmission. Acoustic Transmission is limited by frequency bandwidth, so $\pi/4 QPSK$(Quadrature Phase Shift Keying) methods which is very useful at frequency ]imitation and FM(Frequency Modulation) are used at acoustic communication system. This implemented hybrid modulation/demodulation system is used as an analog board of image transmission system. In this system, adaptive equalization for reducing the multipath effect and baseline JPEG used for an image compressing are also stated.
