The application of deep neural networks to finance has received a great deal of attention from researchers because no assumption about a suitable mathematical model has to be made prior to forecasting and they are capable of extracting useful information from large sets of data, which is required to describe nonlinear input-output relations of financial time series. The paper presents a new deep neural network model where single layered autoencoder and 4 layered neural network are serially coupled for stock price forecasting. The autoencoder extracts deep features, which are fed into multi-layer neural networks to predict the next day's stock closing prices. The proposed deep neural network is progressively learned layer by layer ahead of the final learning of the total network. The proposed model to predict daily close prices of KOrea composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) is built, and its performance is demonstrated.

Drawing is a mechanical operation that attenuates thick material to an appropriate thickness for the next processing or end usage. When the input material has the form of a bundle or bundles made of very thin and long shaped wire or fibers, this attenuation operation is called "bundle drawing" or "drafting" Drafting is being used widely in manufacturing staple yarns. which is indispensable for the textile industry. However, the bundle processed by this operation undertake more or less defects in the evenness of linear density. Such irregularities cause many problems not only for the product quality but also for the efficiency of the next successive processes. Since long there have been many researches tying to find out factors affecting the irregularity of linear desity, to obtain optimal drafting conditions, to develop efficient measuring and analysis methods of linear density of bundle, etc., but there exists yet no fundamental equation describing the dynamic behavior of the flowing bundle during processing. In this research a mathematical model for the dynamic behavior of the bundle fluid is to be set up on the basis of general physical lows representing physical variables, i.e. linear density and velocity as the dynamic state of bundle. The conservation of mass and momentum balance was applied to the fluid field of bundle. while the movement of′ individual material was taken into account. The constitutive model relating the surface force and the deformation of bundle was introduced by considering a representative prodedure that stands for the bundle movement. Then a fundamental equations system could be simplified considering a steady state of the process. On the basis of the simplified model, the simulation was performed and the results could be confirmed by the experiments under various conditions.

In this paper, a stabilized control algorithm for the large rotating stand of a long-range surveillance radar (LRSR) system is introduced. The stabilized control algorithm for this large rotating stand system was designed using mathematical plant modeling. The LRSR system is located on high ground and has a wide surface, making it susceptible to the effects of wind, which increases the bearing friction and reduces the stability of the rotating stand. The disturbance caused by the wind was analyzed using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in this study. The results of the CFD analysis were used to construct a control algorithm for the disturbance . The performance of the proposed control algorithm was demonstrated experimentally and through simulations. The plant model and the control algorithm were constructed in Matlab/Simulink.
In this paper, a hybrid seismic response control (HSRC) system was developed to control bridge behavior caused by the seismic load. It was aimed at optimum vibration control, composed of a rubber bearing of passive type and MR-damper of semi-active type. Its mathematical modeling was driven and applied to a bridge model so as to prove its validity. The bridge model was built for the experiment, a two-span bridge of 8.3 meters in length with the HSRC system put up on it. Then, inflicting the EI Centro seismic load on it, shaking table tests were carried out to confirm the system's validity. The experiments were conducted under the basic structure state (without an MR-damper applied) first, and then under the state with an MR-damper applied. It was also done under the basic structure state with a reinforced rubber bearing applied, then the passive on/off state of the HSRC system, and finally the semi-active state where the control algorithm was applied to the system. From the experiments, it was observed that pounding rather increased when the MR-damper alone was applied, and also that the application of the HSRC system effectively prevented it from occurring. That is, the experiments showed that the system successfully mitigated structural behavior by 70% against the basic structure state, and, further, when control algorithm is applied for the operation of the MR-damper, relative displacement was found to be effectively mitigated by 80%. As a result, the HSRC system was proven to be effective in mitigating responses of the two-span bridge under seismic load.

This Paper proposed the prediction method of fuel consumption from vehicle informations through OBD-II Interface. We assumed RPM, TPS had a relationship with fuel consumption. We got the output as fuel-consumption from a vehicle RPM, TPS as input by using polynomial equation. We had modelling as quadric function with OBD-II data and fuel consumption data supported by automotive company in real. In order to verify the effectiveness of proposed method, 5 km real road-test was performed. The results showed that the proposed method can estimate precisely the fuel consumption from vehicle multi-data.
This paper proposes a sampling-based sensitivity method for dealing with electromagnetic coupled design problems effectively. The black-box modeling technique is basically applied to obtain an optimum regardless of how strong the electromagnetic, thermal and structural analyses are coupled with each other. To achieve this, Kriging surrogate models are produced in a hyper-cubic local window with the center of a current design point. Then design sensitivity values are extracted from the differentiation of basis functions which consist of the models. The proposed method falls under a hybrid optimization method which takes advantages of the sampling-based and the sensitivity-based methods. Owing to the aforementioned feature, the method can be applied even to electromagnetic problems of which the material properties are strongly coupled with thermal or structural outputs. To examine the accuracy and validity of the proposed method, a strongly nonlinear mathematical example and a coil design problem for local induction heating are tested.
Many reports have shown that the access pattern for geospatial tiles follows Zipf's law and that its parameter ${\alpha}$ represents the access characteristics. However, visits to geospatial tiles have temporal and spatial popularities, and the ${\alpha}$-value changes as they change. We construct a mathematical model to simulate the user's access behavior by studying the attributes of frequently visited tile objects to determine parameter estimation algorithms. Because the least squares (LS) method in common use cannot obtain an exact ${\alpha}$-value and does not provide a suitable fit to data for frequently visited tiles, we present a new approach, which uses a moment method of estimation to obtain the value of ${\alpha}$ when ${\alpha}$ is close to 1. When ${\alpha}$ is further away from 1, the method uses the associated cache hit ratio for tile access and uses an LS method based on a critical cache size to estimate the value of ${\alpha}$. The decrease in the estimation error is presented and discussed in the section on experiment results. This new method, which provides a more accurate estimate of ${\alpha}$ than earlier methods, promises more effective prediction of requests for frequently accessed tiles for better caching and load balancing.
The past combats depended often on a number of firepower and manpower. However, integrated decision support viewpoint from communications, surveillance, reconnaissance, intelligence and so forth in combats witnessed in the Gulf, the Middle East, and Afghanistan have changed the trends of combat. That is, the force multipliers which many support systems enhance the combat potential of the fighting forces significantly become big issues to win or not in that combat. According to changing recent combat trend, Lanchester's combat model is being challenged to develop keeping pace with the new trend. We approach this paper as mathematical modeling about how the effect of terrain affects in the combat. Terrain information is invisible, but it is necessary to consider for analysis of warfare. Additionally, tangible or intangible elements affecting to attrition coefficients are continuely reflected to the combat model from decision-makers, then it will be a model closer to the reality and very suggestive to the actual world.

In order to augment the robustness of OFDM system to Rayleigh multipath fading, there exist two smart antenna algorithms, namely, Pre-FFT smart antenna and Post-FFT smart antenna. After the mathematical modeling of both smart antenna algorithms, computer simulations have been carried to compare and analyze the performance of generalized eigen problem based Pre-FFT algorithm and the performance of Wiener solution based Post-FFT algorithm. It has been shown that the Post-FFT smart antenna far outperforms the Pre-FFT smart antenna due to the computational complexities. Especially it is so when the multipath signal arrives at beyond the guard interval and a rich co-channel interferer is introduced. Performance of a subcarrier clustering method proposed to lessen the computing load has been compared to that of a typical Wiener solution based Post-FFT smart antenna. Performance comparison between MRC(Maximum Ratio Combining) diversity based Post-FFT algorithm and typical Post-FFT algorithm has also been carried.

We present a network coding scheme which is designed for improving throughput in multi-hop wireless network with multi-radio multi-channel. The co-channel interference and unreliability of wireless transmissions cause the wireless network to reduce throughput. In wireless network, multi-radio multi-channel technology shows benefit to cut down channel interferences and contentions. And network coding can reduce the complexity of scheduling and improve throughput by increasing usage of links in wireless network. In this paper, we propose a method of channel assignment and transmission scheduling in intra-session network coding that efficiently improve throughput for multi-hop wireless network by using mathematical modeling and linear programming. Moreover, we evaluate the performance of the intra-session network coding scheme by using AMPL with CPLEX. The simulation results show that intra-session network coding can achieve better throughput than traditional routing.
