Mercury in spent button type batteries can be separated and recovered with vacuum distillation method. It was found that mercury in the battery began to distill at $150^{\circ}C$ and organic substanced like a packing material was decomposed at$ 300^{\circ}C$. More than 99.9% of mercury contained in the battery was distiled and separated at about $250^{\circ}C$ and 20 torr with 8 hours' reaction time. The dissolution tests of the residue after distillation showed that mercury concentration in the solution were lower than 5 ppb and this values satisfied the environ-mental condition. Also as the furnace heating rate was above $15^{\circ}C$/min, it was found that the spent battery was destroyed because of increased pressure in the battery inside.
Charge transfer interaction as a hybridization mechanism of silsesquioxane/polymer was tested using carbazole (electron donor) group and dinitrobenzene (electron acceptor) group. Hybridization test was conducted using films made from mixing/casting of poly (carbazole-styrene) (PS/D) and dimtrobenzyl silsesquioxane (Cube/A), and transparent hybrid films were successfully obtained under some conditions. $^1H-NMR$ of PS/D and Cube/A, and W absorption test of hybrid films showed that one acceptor and one donor can form one charge transfer complex when no silsesquioxane molecule was included in films, but transparent hybrids with no phase separation were obtained only at acceptor/donor ratios less than 0.7 : 1. These results also suggested that on average 4 charge transfer complexes form per one silsesquioxane.

Here is an introduction of the conservation and making process of Seodae(Rank Belt with A Rhinoceros' Horn) of the Chuncheon National Museum. The seodae has a structure composed of wrapping fabric around a leather frame and decorated with ttidon(an ornament) made of a rhinoceros' horn and a metal frame. The adhesion between leather was weak and separation was taking place, parts of the horn were missing and the fabric was discoloring. Also the metal frame and the metal wire attaching ttidon were severly corroded. Nondestructive analysis was carried out by using a portable x-ray fluorescence spectroscopy to analyze the components of the metal parts. Conservation was carried out by dismantling parts and carrying out conservation process of each one according to material, then the parts were put back together.
Materials with differing surfaces have been developed for clinical implant therapy in dentistry and orthopedics. This study was designed to evaluate bone response to titanium alloy containing Ti-32Nb-5Zr with nanostructure, anodic oxidation, heat treatment, and ibandronate coating. Rats were randomly assigned to two groups for implantation of titanium alloy (untreated) as the control group and titanium alloy group coated with ibandronate as the experimental group. Then, the implants were inserted in both tibiae of the rats for four weeks. After implantation, bone implant interface, trabecular microstructure, mechanical fixation was evaluated by histology, micro-computed tomography (${\mu}CT$) and the push-out test, respectively. We found that the anodized, heat-treated and ibandronate-coated titanium alloy triggered pronounced bone implant integration and early bone formation. Ibandronate-coated implants showed elevated values for removal torque and a higher level of BV/TV, trabecular thickness and separation upon analysis with ${\mu}CT$ and mechanical testing. Similarly, higher bone contact and a larger percentage bone area were observed via histology compared to untreated alloy. Furthermore, well coating of ibandronate with alloy was observed by vitro releasing experiment. Our study provided evidences that the coating of bisphosphonate onto the anodized and heat-treated nanostructure of titanium alloy had a positive effect on implant fixation.
In this study, nanosized TPA-silicalite-1 was synthesized with a suitable molar composition of TPAOH: $SiO_2$: $H_2O$ for the development of zeolite ceramic membranes to utilize as gas separation. As silica sources, TEOS, LUDOX AS-40 and CAB-O-SIL were used with the starting material of TPAOH. $NaH_2PO_4$, and a variety of acids and bases were used as promoters after TPAOH, $SiO_2$, $H_2O$ gel synthesis. To decrease synthesis time, a two step temperature change method was applied to the synthesis of TPA-silicalite-1 at a low temperature. TPA-silicalite-1 synthesized was analyzed with XRD, SEM, BET and TGA. As a result, TPA-silicalite-1 powders with a particle size of 100 nm and a specific surface area of $416m^2/g$ were obtained as optimum synthesis conditions when the two stage temperature change method was used with $NaH_2PO_4$ as promoter.

Waste refrigerator is the most large amount of item being recycled and the recycling process is the most complicated in WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) because refrigerator is biggest product and consists of various parts and materials such as ferrous, non-ferrous, and plastics. Recently, recycling process of waste refrigerator has been being more complex since large capacity 2 door refrigerators and standing Kimchi refrigerators with various material are distributed on custom market. In addition, recycling of valuable resource from waste refrigerator is mandatory by WEEEs recycling legislation; therefore, high efficiency recycling enough for economic and environment-friendly recovery of valuable resource through present technical situation analysis and comparison of recycling technologies of waste refrigerator with advanced country.

Of late, the thrust vectoring control, using fluidic co-flow and counter-flow concepts, has been received much attention since it not only improves the maneuverability of propulsive engine but also reduces an additional material load due to the trailing control wings, which in turn reduce the aerodynamic drag. However, the control effects are not understood well since the flow field involves very complicated non: physics such as shock wave/boundary layer interaction, separation and significant unsteadiness. Existing data are not enough to achieve the effectiveness and usefulness of the thrust vectoring control, and systematic work is required for the purpose of practical applications In the present study, computational study has been performed to investigate the effects of the thrust vector control using the fluidic co-and counter-flow concepts. The results obtained show that, for a given pressure ratio, the thrust deflection angle has a maximum value at a certain suction flow rate, which is at less than $5\%$ of the mass flow rate of the primary jet. With a longer collar, the same vector angle is achievable with smaller mass flow rate.
The analysis of structure response and design of buried structures subjected to dynamic destructive loads have been receiving increasing interest due to recent severe damage caused by strong earthquakes and terrorist attacks. For a comprehensive design of buried structures subjected to blast loads to be conducted, the whole system behaviour including simulation of the explosion, propagation of shock waves through the soil medium, the interaction of the soil with the buried structure and the structure response needs to be simulated in a single model. Such a model will enable more realistic simulation of the fundamental physical behaviour. This paper presents a complete model simulating the whole system using the finite element package ABAQUS/Explicit. The Arbitrary Lagrange Euler Coupling formulation is used to model the explosive charge and the soil region near the explosion to eliminate the distortion of the mesh under high deformation, while the conventional finite element method is used to model the rest of the system. The elasto-plastic Drucker-Prager Cap model is used to model the soil behaviour. The explosion process is simulated using the Jones-Wilkens-Lee equation of state. The Concrete Damage Plasticity model is used to simulate the behaviour of concrete with the reinforcement considered as an elasto-plastic material. The contact interface between soil and structure is simulated using the general Mohr-Coulomb friction concept, which allows for sliding, separation and rebound between the buried structure surface and the surrounding soil. The behaviour of the whole system is evaluated using a numerical example which shows that the proposed model is capable of producing a realistic simulation of the physical system behaviour in a smooth numerical process.

The steady and unsteady state models were established for the performance analysis and design of heavy water distillation columns packed with corrugated wire mesh. After the steady state model was derived with pressure drops, separated D$_2$O concentration and temperature profiles and pressure gradients in the column were obtained by solving MESH equations with equation tearing method. For the analysis of unsteady state behavior, the equilibrium stage transient model deduced from modifying the Cohen's ideal cascade equation was used to predict the concentration change of heavy water with time. These models were in good agreement with the experimental results of heavy water distillation at total reflux. And the newly developed packing material turned out to be very efficient separation device for very small HETP, pressure drop and holdup.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the harvesting performance of a prototype small combine for buckwheat and adlay. Methods: The prototype small combine was designed and constructed. Its ratio of grain loss, ratio of output components in the grain outlet, and field capacity for harvesting buckwheat and adlay were analyzed through field tests. Results: The prototype small combine required a working width of about 0.6 to 0.7 m to harvest buckwheat. The maximum travel speed was about 0.36 m/. The total ratio of grain loss was about 21.6%, which consisted of 8.8% at the header and 12.8% at the dust outlet. The grain and the material other than grain (MOG) ratios at the grain outlet were 94.1% and 5.9% respectively. In the case of adlay harvest, the maximum working width was about 1.2 m, that is, two rows. The range of maximum travel speed was about 0.45 to 0.46 m/s. When adlay was harvested in one row, the total ratio of grain loss ranged from 36.3 to 42.8% according to the cutting height. The cutting height of 30 cm resulted in a higher total ratio of grain loss than 60 cm and 90 cm. When the cutting height was 60 cm, there was no significant change in the total ratio of grain loss according to the number of working rows and the stage of the primary transmission shift. The total ratio of grain loss ranged from 35.2 to 37.7%. The grain and the MOG ratios at the grain outlet ranged from 93.1 to 95.8% and from 4.2 to 6.9%, respectively. No significant difference was observed in relation to cutting height, number of working rows, and the stage of the primary transmission shift. Conclusions: The prototype small combine for harvesting miscellaneous cereal crops showed good potential for the efficient harvesting of buckwheat and adlay. However, to improve the harvesting performance, there seems to be a need to develop new crop varieties suitable for machine-based harvesting and improve the transmissions, reels, separation/cleaning systems.
