  • Precise image-to-image registration is required to process multi-sensor data together. The purpose of this paper is to develop an algorithm that register between high-resolution optical and SAR images using linear features. As a pre-processing step, initial alignment was fulfilled using manually selected tie points to remove any dislocations caused by scale difference, rotation, and translation of images. Canny edge operator was applied to both images to extract linear features. These features were used to design a cost function that finds matching points based on their similarity. Outliers having larger geometric differences than general matching points were eliminated. The remaining points were used to construct a new transformation model, which was combined the piecewise linear function with the global affine transformation, and applied to increase the accuracy of geometric correction.

  • In this paper, we introduce a new sparse signal recovery algorithm referred to as the matching pursuit with greedy tree search (GTMP). The tree search in our proposed method is implemented to minimize the cost function to improve the recovery performance of sparse signals. In addition, a pruning strategy is employed to each node of the tree for efficient implementation. In our performance guarantee analysis, we provide the condition that ensures the exact identification of the nonzero locations. Through empirical simulations, we show that GTMP is effective for sparse signal reconstruction and outperforms conventional sparse recovery algorithms.

  • This paper contains impulsive maneuver which considers fuel consumption balance of chief satellite and deputy satellite in satellite formation flying. Thrust input is obtained by Lagrange' Multiplier method which is constructed by cost function with weight parameter of each satellite. Energy matching constraint is applied for boundedness of relative orbit, and theoretical solutions are verified by simulation results. Simulations are divided into two scenarios, with or without air-drag effect. This paper's results are expected to be used in real satellite formation flying, when fuel-balancing impulsive maneuver for relative orbit boundedness is needed.

  • This paper presents an effective approach to minimize recursive computations for balancing stereo pairs by using disparity vector errors and its directional histogram. A stereo balancing function is computed from the correspondent pixels between two images, and a simple approach is to find the matching blocks of two images. However, this procedure requires recursive operation, and its computation cost is very high. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an efficient balance method using structural similarity index and a partial re-searching scheme to reduce the computation cost considerably. For this purpose, we determine if re-searching for each block is necessary or not by using the errors and the directional histogram of disparity vectors. Experiment results show that the performance of the proposed approach can save the computations significantly with ignorable image quality degradation compared with full re-search approach.

  • Source localization is an important problem in the field of sonar and radar, etc. For the purpose of source localization, two or more spatially separated sensors are often used to measure the time difference of arrivals of a radiating source whose transmitted signal waveform is unknown. The NLS(Nonlinear Least Square) cost function with curve fitting method was proposed recently, which provide robust source localization performance by reducing estimation ambiguity. However, even this algorithm shows degraded performance in a multipath environment. To estimates source localization correctly, source localization algorithm that eliminate the effect of multipath signals is required. In this paper, PMP(Power Matching Procedure) is added to the algorithm, which provides improved source localization performance by properly cutting out the effect of multipath signals. Through simulation the performance of the proposed source localization algorithm is verified.

  • Fault tree is a widely used methodology for analyzing product reliability. The fault trees are usually constructed using the experiences of expert reliability engineers in top-down approaches and have different structures according to each expert's subjectivity. In this work it is tried to find a general method for the fault tree construction based on the function tree that is the result of product function deployment. Based on the function tree, the method has the advantage of resulting an objective fault tree since the faults are defined as the opposite concept of functions. The fault tree construction of this work consists of the following steps: 1) definition of product primary function with the viewpoints of product operation and configuration, 2) construction of functional relation chart using a grouping algorithm, 3) abstraction of functional block diagram according to operation sequences and configuration of a product, 4) construction of function tree for each viewpoint, and 5) construction of fault tree by matching the function tree and simplification of the result.

  • This paper proposed image matching technique that find out the truth of the wild ginseng through smart phone when the common person discovered a plant like a wild ginseng. Also sharing a location and information by SNS, we can improve the probability of wild ginseng discovery. Image matching technique using OpenCV porting in android finds out the truth of the wild ginseng with comparing existing it. Thus we are able to compare and analysis them in our application program. For more verification, we added marking function of wild ginseng position for information sharing between users.

  • In this paper, the probabilistic exclusion based orthogonal matching pursuit (PEOMP) algorithm for the sparse signal reconstruction is proposed. Some of recent greedy algorithms such as CoSaMP, gOMP, BAOMP improved the reconstruction performance by deleting unsuitable atoms at each iteration. They still often fail to converge to the solution because the support set could not escape from a local minimum. PEOMP helps to escape by excluding a random atom in the support set according to a well-chosen probability function. Experimental results show that PEOMP outperforms several OMP based algorithms and the $l_1$ optimization method in terms of exact reconstruction probability.

  • Multiple sequence alignment is a method to compare two or more DNA or protein sequences. Most of multiple sequence alignment tools rely on pairwise alignment and Smith-Waterman algorithm to generate an alignment hierarchy. Therefore, in the existing multiple alignment method as the number of sequences increases, the runtime increases exponentially. In order to remedy this problem, we adopted a parallel processing suffix tree algorithm that is able to search for common subsequences at one time without pairwise alignment. Also, the cross-matching subsequences triggering inexact-matching among the searched common subsequences might be produced. So, the cross-matching masking process was suggested in this paper. To identify the function of the clusters generated by suffix tree clustering, BLAST and CDD (Conserved Domain Database)search were combined with a clustering tool. Our clustering and annotating tool consists of constructing suffix tree, overlapping common subsequences, clustering gene sequences and annotating gene clusters by BLAST and CDD search. The system was successfully evaluated with 36 gene sequences in the pentose phosphate pathway, clustering 10 clusters, finding out representative common subsequences, and finally identifying functional domains by searching CDD database.

  • The proposed method in this paper is derived from Mielikainen's hiding method. However, there exist some significant differences between two methods. In Mielikainen's method, pixels are partitioned into pairs and a LSB matching function is applied to two pixels for hiding. On the contrary, the proposed method partitions pixels into groups with three pixels in each group. The bits of pixels in each group are linked by using an exclusive OR (XOR) operator in a circular way. If the number of different values between the calculated XOR values and the secret bits is smaller than or equal to 2 in a group, the proposed method can guarantee that at most one pixel is needed to be modified by adding/subtracting its value to/from one, and three secret bits can be embedded to three pixels. Through theoretical analysis, the amount of the embedded secret data in the proposed method is larger than those in other methods under the same amount of pixel modifications. Taking real images in our experiments, the quality of stego-images in the proposed method is higher than those in other methods.
