  • The deep black coloration of polyester fabrics was obtained by the physical properties of color and color mixing system. In this experiment, we have measured the absorbance and the reflectance of various disperse dyes for accomplishing the lowest lightness value and uniform reflectance, and new matching algorithm and computer color matching was made. The matching used both isomeric and metameric matching. The color matching of deep black color represented low lightness. Though actual reflectance of dyed polyester fabrics using these matching results was as high as theoretical one, low lightness value($L^*$) and uniform appearance were achieved.

  • The demand for stable plasma has been on the rise because of the increased delivery power amount in the chamber for improving productivity, and fast and accurate plasma impedance matching become a crucial performance measure for radio frequency (RF) power system in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. In this paper, the overall impedance matching was understood, and voltage and current values were extracted with voltage - current (VI) probe to measure plasma impedance in real-time. Actual matching data were analyzed to derive calibration coefficient for V and I measurements to understand the characteristics of VI probe, and we demonstrated the tendency of RF impedance matching according to changes in load impedance. This preliminary empirical research can contribute to fast RF matching as well as advanced equipment control for the next level of detailed investigation on embedded system based-RF matching controller.

  • In the previous research, we considered a logistics brokerage problem with the objective of minimizing total transportation lead time of freights in a logistics e-marketplace, in which a logistics brokerage agent intermediates empty vehicles and freights registered by car owners and shippers [7]. However, in the logistics e-marketplace, transportation due date tardiness is more important than the transportation lead time, since transportation service level is critically determined by whether the due date is met or not. Therefore, in this paper, we deal with the logistics brokerage problem with the objective of minimizing total tardiness of freights. Hungarian method based matching algorithms, real time matching(RTM), periodic matching(PM), and fixed matching(FM), are used for solving the problem considered in this paper. In order to test performance of the proposed algorithms, we perform computational experiments on a various problem instances. The results show that the waiting-and-matching algorithms, PM and FM, also give better performance than real time matching strategy, RTM, for the total tardiness minimization problem as the algorithms did for the total lead time minimization problem.

  • We analyze state-level matching efficiencies in the Indian labor market using stochastic frontier analysis. The key contribution of this research is the estimation of matching efficiencies at the state level because these can be used for a state-level measure of labor market conditions. Next, we explore the relationship between the estimated matching efficiencies and population density, labor market flexibility, and the Ease of Doing Business index, respectively. The results show that matching efficiency is heterogeneous across states with considerable variation in accordance with the regional diversity in India. However, we find that there is little relationship between the estimated matching efficiencies and the labor market conditions of interest, suggesting that other regional diversity affects matching efficiencies across states in India.

  • Image matching is fundamental process to identify conjugate points on the stereo images. However, standard methods or general solutions for matching problem have not been found yet, in spite of long history. Quality of the matching basically depends on uniqueness of the matching entity and robustness of the algorithm. In this study, conjugate points were extracted by implementing interest operator, then area based matching method was applied to the topographical characteristics of the gray value as the matching entities. The matching entities were utilized based on the concept of the intrinsic image.

  • In this paper, we propose a new algorithm that can enhance the speed of template matching of hand vascular pattern person verification or recognition system. Various template matching algorithms have advantages in the matching accuracy, but most of the algorithms suffer from computational burden. To reduce the computational amount, with accuracy maintained, we propose following template matching scenario as follows. firstly, original hand vascular image is re-sampled in order to reduce spatial resolution. Secondly, reconstructed image is projected to vertical and horizontal direction, being converted to two one dimensional (1D) data. Thirdly, converted data is used to estimate spatial discrepancy between stored template image and target image. Finally, matching begins from where the estimated order is highest, and finishes when matching decision function is computed to be over certain threshold. We've applied the proposed algorithm to hand vascular pattern identification application for biometrics, and observed dramatic matching speed enhancement. This paper presents detailed explanation of the proposed algorithm and evaluation results.

  • Statistical matching is a method of combining multiple sources of data that are extracted or surveyed from the same population. It can be used in situation when variables of interest are not jointly observed. It is a low-cost way to expect high-effects in terms of being able to create synthetic data using existing sources. In this paper, we propose the several statistical micro matching methods using a multinomial logistic regression model when all variables of interest are categorical or categorized ones, which is common in sample survey. Under conditional independence assumption (CIA), a mixed statistical matching method, which is useful when auxiliary information is not available, is proposed. We also propose a statistical matching method with auxiliary information that reduces the bias of the conventional matching methods suggested under CIA. Through a simulation study, proposed micro matching methods and conventional ones are compared. Simulation study shows that suggested matching methods outperform the existing ones especially when CIA does not hold.

  • If an impedance mismatch occurs between the source and load in a Radio Frequency transmission system, reflected power is generated. This results in incomplete power transmission and the generation of Reflected Power, which returns to the Radio Frequency generator. To minimize this Reflected Power, Impedance matching is performed. Fast and efficient Impedance matching, along with converging reflected power towards zero, is advantageous for achieving desired plasma characteristics in semiconductor processes. This paper explores Impedance matching by adjusting the Vacuum Variable Capacitor of an L-type Matching Module based on the trends observed in the voltage of the Phase Sensor and Electromotive Force voltage. After assessing the impedance matching characteristics, the findings are described.

  • This paper describes a method for sinusoidal modeling of audio signals using perceptually weighted matching pursuit. Matching pursuits extracts iteratively the greatest energy signals from the input signals until the residual between the original and the reconstructed signal is zero. In this paper, perceptual matching pursuits using psychoacoustic model to matching pursuit extracts greatest perceived energy iteratively. To evaluate the performance of the perceptual matching pursuits it is compared with the sinusoidal matching pursuits which is not included perceptual weighting. For various audio signals the result of simulation shows that the perceptual matching pursuit is superior to the sinusoidal matching pursuits, especially for a high change rate in time domain it can synthesized original signal.

  • Various matching methods have been introduced by investigators to improve digital elevation model (DEM) accuracy of satellite imagery. This study proposed an area-based matching method according to land cover property using correlation coefficient of pixel brightness value between the two images for DEM generation from IKONOS stereo imagery. For this, matching line (where "matching line" implies straight line that is approximated to complex nonlinear epipolar geometry) is established by exterior orientation parameters to minimize search area. The matching is carried out based on this line. Land cover classes are divided off into water, urban land, forest and agricultural land. Matching size is selected using a correlation-coefficient image in the four areas. The selected sizes are $81{\times}81$ pixels window, $21{\times}21$ pixels window, $119{\times}119$ pixels window and $51{\times}51$ pixels window in the water area, urban land, forest land and agricultural land, respectively. And hence, DEM is generated from IKONOS stereo imagery using the selected matching sizes and land cover map on the four types.
