In this paper, we propose a new method that separates background and foreground from stereo images. This method can be improved automatic target tracking system by using disparity map of the stereo vision system and background-separating mask, which can be obtained camera configuration parameters. We use disparity map and camera configuration parameters to separate object from background. Disparity map is made with block matching algorithm from stereo images. A morphology filter is used to compensate disparity error that can be caused by occlusion area. We could obtain a separated object from background when the proposed method was applied to real stereo cameras system.

A real time system realization for binocular eyeball tracking cursor on the computer monitor screen is presented in the paper. The processing for searching iris and tracking the cursor are that a facial is acquired by the small CCD camera, convert it into binary image, search for the eye two using the five region mask method in the eye surroundings and the side four points diagonal positioning method is searched the each iris. The tracking cursor is matched by measuring the iris central moving position, The cursor controlling is achieved by comparing two related distances between the iris maximum moving and the cursor moving to calculate the moving stance from gazing position and screen. The experimental result are obtained by examining some adults person on the system.

In this paper, a new onto-digital stereo object-tracking system using hierarchical digital algorithms and optical BPEJTC is proposed. This proposed system can adaptively track a moving target by controlling the convergence of stereo camera. firstly, the target is detected through the background matching of the sequential input images by using optical BPEJTC and then the target area is segmented by using the target projection mask which is composed by hierarchical digital processing of image subtraction, logical operation and morphological filtering. Secondly, the location's coordinate of the moving target object for each of the sequential input frames can be extracted through carrying out optical BPEJTC between the reference image of the target region mask and the stereo input image. Finally, the convergence and pan/tilt of stereo camera can be sequentially controlled by using these target coordinate values and the target can be kept in tracking. Also, a possibility of real-time implementation of the adaptive stereo object tracking system is suggested through optically implementing the proposed target extraction and convergence control algorithms.

In this study, to analyze the effect of buildings on the image co-registration performance, co-registration results are compared according to the presence or absence of matching points extracted from buildings. To remove the matching points extracted from buildings, a building mask generated by extracting building objects from the digital topographic map was used. In addition, matching points extraction performance and image co-registration accuracy were analyzed according to the magnitude of the convergence angle. Image co-registration results were compared by applying the affine and piecewise linear transformation models, respectively. According to the experimental results, the affine transformation model showed an overall improvement in accuracy after removing the matching points extracted from buildings. On the other hand, the piecewise linear transformation model improved the accuracy at the checkpoints including the surrounding buildings, but the accuracy improvement was not significant at checkpoints in the flat area without the existence of buildings. In addition, when the piecewise linear transformation model was applied, stable accuracy of less than 2 pixels was derived from images with a convergence angle of 20° or less.

In this paper, 16word X 8bit Content Addressable and Reentrant Memory(CARM) is described. This device has 4 operation modes(read, write, match, reentrant). The read and write operation of CARM is like that of static RAM, CARM has the reentrant mode operation where the on chip garbage collection is accomplished conditionally. Thus function can be used for high speed matching unit of dynamic data flow computer. And CARM also can encode matching address sequentially according to therir priority. CARM consists of 8 blocks(CAM cell, Sequential Address Encoder(S.A.E). Reentrant operation. Read/Write control circuit, Data/Mask Register, Sense Amplifier, Encoder. Decoder). Designed DARM can be used in data flow computer, pattern, inspection, table look-up, image processing. The simulation is performed using the QUICKSIM logic simulator and Pspice circuit simulator. Having hierarchical structure, the layout was done using the 3{\;}\mu\textrm{m} n well CMOS technology of the ETRI design rule.

Due to the technological advances in modern society, the distinction between mask and authenticity is becoming very difficult. to solve these problems, this paper describes a high-level improvement of the image processing technique of the code authentication system which discriminates the good and the bad by using the color information and the dot information. Labels were given to each genuine article and the article, which can not be distinguished from each other. In the proposed method, image matching of labels is performed using the opencv library, and genuine and good products are discriminated by using the halftone dots and w dot dots of each label. In this paper, the proposed method stores genuine and good labels on the server and compares them with the user's labels to determine genuine products.

In this study, the dust/smoke detection algorithm was developed with a multi-spectral satellite remote sensing method using Moderate resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) Level 1B (L1B) data and the results were validated as RGB composite images of red(R; band 1), green(G; band 4), blue(B; band 3) channels using MODIS L1B data and Cloud-Aerosol Lidar with Orthogonal Polarization Satellite Observations(CALIPSO) Vertical Feature Mask (VFM) product. In the daytime on March 30, 2007 and April 27, 2012, the consistencies between the dust/smoke detected by this algorithm and verification data were approximately 56.4 %, 72.0 %, respectively. During the nighttime, the similar consistency was 40.5 % on April 27, 2012. Although these results were analyzed for limited cases due to the spatiotemporal matching for the MODIS and CALIPSO satellites, they could be used to utilize the aerosol detection of geostationary satellites for the next generations in Korea through further research.

A real time system realization for binocular eyeball tracking mouse on the computer monitor being far from 30-40cm is presented in the paper. The processing for searching eyeball and tracking the cursor are that a facial image is acquired by the small CCD camera, convert it into binary image, search for the eye two using the five region mask method in the eye surroundings and the side four points diagonal positioning method is searched the each iris. The tracking cursor is matched by measuring the iris central moving position. The cursor controlling is achieved by comparing two related distances between the iris maximum moving and the cursor moving to calculate the moving distance from gazing position and screen. The experimental results show that the binocular eyeball mouse system is simple and fast to be real time.
In this paper, we propose the algorithm for segmenting the moving speaker and tracking its movement in the video conference image. For real time processing, we simplify the algorithm which is processed in the order of the segmenting and the tracking step. In the segmenting step, the speaker object is segmented from the image by using both the motion information obtained from the difference method and the illuminance information of image. The reference mask image is created from segmented speaker object. In the tracking step, the moving speaker is tracked by using simple block matching algorithm of which computation time is reduced by discarding the blocks which are classified into the unuseful blocks. In the simulation, we can get the good result of segmenting and tracking the moving speaker by applying the proposed algorithm to several test images.

In this study, we propose the image segmentation algorithm for facial region segmentation. The proposed algorithm separates the mean image of low frequency band from the differential image of high frequency band in order to make a boundary using HWT, and then we reduce the isolation pixels, projection pixels, and overlapped boundary pixels from the low frequency band. Also the boundaries are detected and simplified by the proposed boundary detection algorithm, which are cleared on the thinning process of 1 pixel unit. After extracting facial image boundary by using the proposed algorithm, we make the mask and segment facial image through matching original image. In the result of facial region segmentation experiment by using the proposed algorithm, the successive facial segmentation have 95.88% segmentation value.
