경남지역 일부 산업간호사의 업무수행에 관한 연구 (Study on activities of some occupational health nurses in Kyungnam area)

  • Authors purposed to observe activities of occupational health nurses and it's related factors, and to suggest the way that induct better occupational health nurses' activities with questionaire to 87 occupational health nurses who individually work as health manager in the plant. The questionaire included type of plant and number of workers, general characteristics, work conditions, activities, etc. Major findings are as follows. 1. 82.8% of occupational health nurses were third decade. 93.1% graduated junior college or college. And 82.8% were not married. 2. General work conditions: 40.2% were belonged to safety-health section, 98.85% were mere clerks. 60.9% worked less than weekly 44 hours, and an annual salary of 50.6 % was between 10 million and 14 million won. 3. Work condition related to health manager work: there was separated health care room in 94.3%, working period as health manager(occupational health nurse) was less than 5 years in 70.1%, 49.4% had the out-of-health manager work. In 87.4%, occupational physician was appointed, only 6.9% of them were full time, 52.9% of them worked little in the plants. The problems related to workers' health were discussed with industrial nurses in 88.5%. 4. Attitude for their work: 88.5% were thought that their work is important for workers' health care, 57.5% satisfied to work as health manager. In 51.7%, motive to being industrial nurse were the appropriate aptitude. 5. Activities: General medical care in 100% were carried out, in 97.7% works related to general health examination, in 100% works related to special health examination were carried. But works related to use of protective apparatus were carried out in 20.8%. 6. Factors related to level of activities: In cases who solved the health related problems by themselves, the level of activites was significantly higher than in others. In cases there were full time occupational physician, the level of activities was significantly lower. 7. Occupational health nurse's needs: 100% wanted regular education, 89.7% wanted the qualifying examination. As the results, author suggests that the right of self-control is given to occupational health nurses and the work of occupational physician is clearly defined for the induction of the better activities of occupational health nurses.

서울지역(地域) 중고등학교(中高等學校) 학교보건실태(學校保健實態) 및 양호교사 업무수행(業務遂行)에 관(關)한 요인분석(要因分析) (A Study on the status of school health and analysis of factors affecting school nurse's activity in the elementary school)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the status of school health and analyze affecting factors of school nurses' self confidence and nursing activities of the secondary school in Seoul. The data was collected from 13th of August to 30th of October. The self reported questionairs were distributed during one of the school nurses seminars held in Seoul and 93 secondary school nurses answered. Analysis of the data was done utilizing SPSS for percentage, mean, T-test ANOVA and Pearson Correlation Coefficients. The results of study are summerized as follows; 1. General Characteristics The mean age of the subjects was 33.4 and mean length of experience as a school nurse was 7.3 years. 79.5 percent of them had clinical experiences and the mean clinic experience was 2.1 years. The majority of them were graduate of the baccalaureate nursing programs and 82.8 percent of them were married. 72.0 percent of the sample had religion, and 60.2 percent of them were in the national or public schools. 90.3 percent of them had independent duty. 2. The status of school health resources In average, there were 2,445 students, 37 classes and 63 teachers per school nurse. 48.4 percent of them were aware of the school budget. The budget for school health was 585,000 won per school in average. 30.0 percent of the schools had school health organization. The schools whose health clinics were on the first floor consisted of 79.3 percent, among them 42.9 percent were on the center of the building office. 3. Activities of school health nursing The average number of students using health clinic were 430 per month. The majority of the problem was digestive problem. There were 7.5 times of mean correspondences with parents per year. The activities of the school nurses were clinic management (29.0%), health care services (23.5%) and health education (14.1%). 4. The degrees of self confidence of the school nurse and nursing activities Self confidence measured by 6 items of self-reported questionaires scored by 4 point Likert Scale revealed. The nurses' self-confidence was 2.922 in clinic management, 2.909 in health education, 2.759 in program planning and evaluation, 2.757 in health care services, 2.692 in management of school environment, and 2.250 in operation of school health organization. The nursing activities scored by 2 point. The nursing activities was 1,870 in program planning and evaluation, 1.853 in health education, 1.843 in clinic management, 1.739 in health care services, 1.696 in management of school environment and 1.265 in operating of school health organization. 5. Factors affecting self confidence and nursing activities of school nurses The general characteristics of the school nurses and the school health resources were related to self confidence and nursing activities. The most significant variable to nurses' self confidence was type of the school ownership and the presence of school health organization was the most significant factor to nursing activities.

간호사의 가치관에 관한 조사 연구 (A Study on the Values of Nurses)

  • Paying attention to the notable social problem occured by the confusion of values in the modern industrialized society changed rapidly, this study aimed to examine the values of nurses which lie at the heart of the diverse universe of their behavior considering their activities and professionalism influencing the applicants directly. The applicants for this study were 173 nurses selected randomly from both hospitals of rKJ located in Inchon and ry J located in Seoul. $\ulcorner$K$lrcorner$ The findings from this study were as follows; 1) Values of nurses In the Spranger's six personality category of values, the religious value was found to be the most important for the nurses, and followed by social value. These facts are thought to be disirable and hopeful very much reflecting the philosophical basis of nursing, that is, humanitarianism. But the theoretical value marked the lowest point that probably mean the lack of nurse's theoretical conditions which should be essential for the nursing professionalism. Thus it is suggested that the measures for encouraging the nurses or nursing students to have more interest in the educational training courses and schooling. 2) Analysis of relationship between the nurse's general characteristics and their values CD There were no differences statistically in values relating to the professional career and occupation. The nurses without religion placed, naturally, the lower religious value (t= 4.28. p=.000) than the nurses with religion. but placed higher aesthetic value(t=-2.82. p=.006) showing significant statistical differences. (3) Nurses from the 3-year program got the higher aesthetic value(t=3.07, p=.003) than those from the diploma program. but got the lower religious value (t = -2.05. p =.041) showing significant statistical differences. (4) The singles placed the higher aesthetic value (t= 2.21. p =.028) than those married in significant statistically.

중소병원 간호사의 전문직자아개념과 조직몰입 및 직무만족과의 관계 (The Relationship between Professional Self-Concept, Organizational Commitment and Job Satisfaction in Clinical Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study is descriptive survey to offer basic data of nursing management practice as identify the relationship between Professional Self-Concept, Organizational Commitment and Job satisfaction, whom nurses work general hospitals less than 250 beds. Methods: The subjects in this study were random sampling 320 nurse who worked in 9 general hospital in G city that had less than 250 beds, data was collected from 10 to 30 in Apr, 2007. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson‘s correlation, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test. Results: Level of Professional Self-Concept of nurses was average 2.60 point, level of Organizational Commitment of nurses showed 2.83 point, level of Job Satisfaction of nurses showed 2.73 point. There was a statistically significant difference at Professional Self-Concept of nurses as general characteristics showed a marriage state, position, work place, clinical career. There was a statistically significant difference at Organizational Commitment of nurses as general characteristics showed a marriage state, position, clinical career. There was a statistically significant difference at Job Satisfaction of nurse as general characteristics showed a marriage state, position, clinical career. There were highest correlation Organizational Commitment with Job Satisfaction(r=.536, p<.001), also high correlation Organizational Commitment with Professional Self-Concept(r=.478, p<.001). And there were high correlation Job Satisfaction with Professional Self-Concept(r=.422, p<.001). Conclusions: As integrate of the study result showed the Professional Self-Concept had correlation to Organizational Commitment and Job Satisfaction, specially as relation those valuables with general characteristics of subjects, it strongly need to develop educational program for improving Professional Self-Concept with supporting of variety administration for developing human resource for nurses who are not married, low position in hospital, short career, or worked in inpatient wards.

간호사와 의사가 지각하는 임상간호사의 전문직 자율성 정도 (The Clinical Nurses' Professional Autonomy Perceived by Staff Nurses and Doctors)

  • This study was done to identify the professional autonomy of clinical nurses perceived by staff nurses and doctors. The subjects consisted of 410 nurses and 219 doctors who are working at 4 general hospital in Daegu and Pusan. The nurses were surveyed by means of July 7 to September 27, 1997. The results are as follows : 1. The score which the nurses perceived clinical nurses' professional autonomy is 159.05 points. This score means mid level of professinal autonomy. 2. The score which the doctors perceived clinical nurses' professional autonomy is 140.37 points. This score means mid level of professinal autonomy. 3. The extent of the perceived clinical nurses' professional autonomy between two groups was remarkably high in the nurses group(P=.000) 4. The relationship between general characteristics and the perception of professional autonomy by nurses showed a significant difference in regard to the age, the marital status, educatioal level, the period of nursing career and the state of position. The score of professional autonomy by age was highest 41 years old or more, while the lowest was for 26-30 years old(P=.008). The score of professional autonomy of a married nurse was higher than an unmarried(P=.003). The score of professional autonomy by the period of nursing career was highest 9 years or more, the lowest was for 3-6 years(P=.009), Also, the higher the educational level(P=.000) and the state of position(P=.049), the higher the score of professional autonomy. But there were no statistically significant difference in regard to the religion and the field of work. 5. The relationship between general characteristics and the perception of professional autonomy by doctors showed no statistically significant difference.

서울시내 일부 병원 간호사의 자연출산조절 방법에 대한 인식과 교육의도 (Nurse's Perceptions and Educational Intentions Regarding Natural Childbirth Control Methods)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to identify nurses' perceptions and educational intentions regarding natural childbirth control (NCC) methods. Method: The participants were 313 nurses working at three general hospitals in Seoul. They were asked to complete a questionnaire composed of scales measuring knowledge and perceptions childbirth control methods, awareness of bodily changes in ovulation phase, perceptions of fetal life, which were developed by the author. Also, Chang's (2002) Sexual Autonomy Inventory was utilized. The data were analyzed by the SAS program. Results : Methods of condom and rhythm were considered to be more useful for childbirth control than other methods. Only 34-54% of them knew exactly about the NCC methods using menstrual cycle, body temperature, and mucus. The mean scores of sexual autonomy and awareness of bodily changes in ovulation phase were 3.8 and 3.4 out of 5, in respect. Educational intention was different statistically by the age, marital status, future intention to use NCC methods, and perception of educational need for NCC methods. Conclusion : Nurses' perceptions and educational intentions regarding NCC were low, especially in nurses who were married. It is recommended to encourage nurses to learn NCC methods for clients education.

임상간호사의 혈액과 체액 노출 위험요인 (Risk Factors of Blood and Body Fluid Exposure in Clinical Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the risk factors of exposure to blood and body fluid by clinical nurses. Method: The participants in this descriptive study were 276 clinical nurses involved in nursing care in a general hospital located in Seoul. The collected data were analyzed using a logistic regression model. Results: The annual exposure rate to blood and body fluid by clinical nurses was 66.3%, and the ratio was higher in the exposed group than in the non-exposed group for nurses under the age of 25, nurses who were unmarried, nurses with low clinical experience, and nurses who work night shifts more than six days a week. Clinical nurses who were unmarried were 1.9 times more likely to have been exposed compared to married nurses. Nurses whose work experience was less than 18 months were 2.7 times more at risk than nurses with more than 18 months of experience. Also, nurses whose fatigue scores were high had an increased chance of exposure (1.9 times). Conclusion: It is necessary to provide intensive training programs for clinical nurses who are in the early months of their career and are likely to be young and unmarried, in order to prevent exposure to blood and body fluid. Administrative supports to self-control and hospital ward operation measures to relieve nurses' fatigue should be provided.

간호사의 사회심리적 건강과 동료의 지지가 환자 돌봄 능력에 미치는 영향 (The Impacts of Nurses' Psycho-social Health and Social Support from Colleagues on Patient Caring Ability)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of nurses' psycho-social health and social support from colleagues on patient caring ability. Methods: A cross-sectional survey design was used and the participants in this study were 422 nurses from 3 general hospitals. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire and collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression analysis with the SAS 9.4 program. Results: Total mean score for psychosocial health was $3.15{\pm}0.57$, for social support from colleagues, $3.43{\pm}0.55$, and for caring ability, $4.04{\pm}0.53$. Psychosocial health, social support from colleagues, and married status were identified as significant factors influencing patient caring ability. Conclusion: Findings from this study indicate that psychosocial health and social support from colleagues are related to patient caring ability, and thus, to improve nurses' caring ability for patient and for self, it is important to create a work environment that keeps nurses healthy and promotes collaboration with colleagues.

전남 도서지역 보건진료원 업무환경 개선방안 (Improvement for Work Status of Community Health Practitioners in Island Areas)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess the work status of community health practitioners in island areas. Methods: Participants in this study were 59 community health practitioners in primary health care posts located on islands in J Province. Data were collected during December, 2011 and analyzed using SPSS 17.0 program. Results: Characteristics of the majority of community health practitioners in the island areas was that they were over 50 years old, married, and had 10 years job experience, The population under their jurisdiction was less than 200 and they had an average of 6-10 patients/day and worked less than 10 hours/day. Health education and practice were the most common of task, and they had various types of paperwork to complete. They visited senior citizens living alone, managed medications, gathered health data for research, waited for night treatment of emergency patients, carried out health promotion programs, and visited seriously ill patients at home after work hours. Conclusion: Results of the study indicate that in order to improve the role and function of the primary health care posts and to boost morale, the practitioners' opinions should be actively accepted by the community health practitioner association and competent government agencies.

남자간호사의 대인관계능력과 직무 스트레스가 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Interpersonal relation and Job Stress on Nursing Performance of Male Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of interpersonal relation and job stress on nursing performance among male nurses. Methods: This study was cross-sectional descriptive one. The data were collected from self-administered questionnaires by 110 male nurses members affiliated with the Korean Man Nurses Association. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one way ANOVA with Duncan test, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression with the SPSS/WIN 21.0. Results: The average scores of interpersonal relation, job stress, and nursing performance were respectively 3.64, 3.10, 3.63. Nursing performance was high in married, good health condition, manager, and high salary among male nurses. Nursing performance showed significant positive correlation with interpersonal relation (p<.001), and a significant negative correlation with job stress (p=.010). Influencing factors of nursing performance among male nurses were interpersonal relation, health status, total duration of career, position, and the adjusted $R^2$ of the regression model was 42%. Conclusion: The results suggest that we need to develop a training program to improve the nursing performance of the male nurses.
