Oligopoly differs from perfect competition and monopoly in that a firm must consider rival firms' behavior to determine its own best policy. This interrelationship among firms is the issue examined in this paper. In the oligopoly market, the complete information market means that each producer has full information about itself, the market, and its rivals. That is, each producer knows the market demand function, its own cost function and the cost functions of rivals. On the other hand, the incomplete information market means that in general each producer lacks full information about the market or its rivals. Here, we assume that each firm doesn't know the cost functions and the strategic biddings of its rivals. The main purpose of this paper is to analyze firm' strategic behaviors and equilibrium in an electricity market with incomplete information. In the case study, the complete information market and the incomplete market are compared at the Nash Equilibrium from the viewpoints of market price, transaction quantities, consumer benefits, and Social Welfare.

This research examines whether consumers properly understand the efficiency of the Internet market. The result from consumers perception on the efficiencies in the two market are as follows. First, consumers perceived the traditional market as having more product alternatives compared to the Internet market. Second, consumers perceived that the Internet market was more efficient in price dispersion and price change Third, the Internet market was considered more efficient in searching and travel time, and in the search cost. Finally, the traditional market was considered as a better provider of the information about product function, feature, reality, usage and service compared to the Internet market. On the contrary, the Internet market turned out to be more effective in providing product information, price information and trading information compared to the traditional market. Therefore consumers perceived the traditional market of having more information.

Recent developments in financial market liberalization and information technology are accelerating the interdependence of national stock markets. This study explores the information spillover effect of the US stock market on the overnight and daytime returns of the Korean stock market. We develop a profitable intra-day trading strategy based on the information spillover effect. Our study provides several important conclusions. First, an information spillover effect still exists from the overnight US stock market to the current Korean stock market. Second, Korean investors overreact to both good and bad news overnight from the US. Therefore, there are significant price reversals in the KOSPI 200 index futures prices from market open to market close. Third, the overreaction effect is different between weekdays and weekends. Finally, the suggested intra-day trading system based on the documented overreaction hypothesis is profitable.
Intermediaries are presenting not only transactional information that orchestrates electronic transaction, but also market related information and knowledge useful for sellers' understanding of the market status. However, we do not have strong evidence that the market related information and knowledge is properly utilized by sellers and that it has an actual influence on sellers' performance. According to the research result, absorptive capacity and the pattern of information system utilization is statistically significant to sellers' performance mediated by operational efficiency and market knowledge creation. Especially, explorative utilization of information system and realized absorptive capacity has a stronger influence on sellers' performance mediated by market knowledge creation. With this research result, this study maintains that sellers are required to absorb and utilize market related information and knowledge more actively through explorative utilization of information system to achieve better performance in the e-marketplace. On the other hand, intermediaries are recommended to provide abundant and valuable market related information and knowledge for the sellers to build up better e-marketplaces.
Although Firms have been increasing their information security significantly to handle increased security risks, the effects of information security were not well understood. This study aims to investigate the market value of information security by employing the event study methodology. Our research also explores how market responses vary depending on the type of information security announcements. We collected 177 firm-level information security announcements between 2001 and 2017 in South Korea. For all samples, our results indicate that the stock market positively reacts to information security announcements. We also conducted subsample analysis and found that while information security certification announcement has a positive impact on the stock market, information security activities (e.g. award, information security system) announcement had no impact on the stock market. Our study adopted a novel approach (i.e. event study) for investigating the effects of information security and found that information security investment positively affects firm value. Our results allow managers to measure the effects of information security investment and help them make right decisions on information security investment.
Recently, smart grid has been considered a very important new energy delivery technology, and one that can help ensure a cleaner environment by making use of information and communication technology (ICT) in countries around the world. The many technological benefits smart grid offers is expected to bring about a huge change in the electric energy supply chain. In particular, smart grid with advanced ICT is likely to allow market agents to participate in the decision-making process in the restructured electricity industry, easily facilitating Homeostatic Utility Control. In this paper, we examine smart grid as a market externality, and then illustrate issues from the commercial market perspective as it relates to electricity market design. Finally, our paper identifies some of the impacts of smart grid on electricity market design, which may possibly be incorporated into the evolution of the electricity market, thus ensuring market efficiency.

However, the results of this analysis are to verify differences according to the degree of construction of the Distribution Information and the degree of the perception of the problems between the Wholesale Market Company and the Intermediary Wholesaler corporations have shown that there were distinct differences in the degree of computerization and of efforts to build a Distribution Information. Also there were distinct differences according to the degree of perceiving problems relating to building up the Distribution Information and the stages of the Distribution Information between the Wholesale Market Company and the Intermediary Wholesaler corporations. This study suggest three important steps that will help to establish a successful Distribution Information. First, the Wholesale Market Company and the Intermediary Wholesaler corporations should make efforts to increase mutual profits in partnership, and make direct Trust by sharing mutual information. It is necessary to expand the communication networks of the Distribution Information between the Wholesale Market Company and the Intermediary Wholesaler. Third, mutual exchange of Information should be possible to offer systematic exchange of Information between the Wholesale Market Company and the Intermediary Wholesaler corporations.
The Asian food market has been growing recently, due to the role played by major Asian countries, which include Korea, China, and Japan. This study is purposed to investigate the potential of the food market in these Northeast Asian countries and to suggest future direction for global food companies. For in-depth analysis, this study is limited in scope to the confectionery market and analyzes that market within two frameworks: first, the 'Market Attractiveness Matrix' which transforms the 'BCG Matrix' to fit into the food market in order to analyze the flow in the Asian confectionery market; and second, analysis of the potential growth of the market using a Category Development Index (CDI), which aids in understanding the growth potential of a market. The European food market has recently reached its capacity and is now experiencing a low growth rate (Data Monitor, 2011). It is time for food companies to find a new 'blue ocean' to avoid fierce competition in the mature markets of Europe. Therefore, this analysis of the confectionery market, using the Market Attractiveness Matrix and CDI will suggest opportune directions for global food companies.
