통신시장 결합상품을 통한 지배력 전이 검증 방법에 대한 연구 (A Study on A method to Evaluate Market Dominance Transfer through Bundling Services in a Telecommunication Market)

  • The number of contracts for bundling services in a domestic telecommunication market records 1.3 miilion as of the first half year in 2007, and steadily increased to 8.97 million in 2010, to 12.76 million in 2013. In 2014, 70.4% of telecommunication service consumers are found to subscribe to bundling service. Bundling services provide consumers with benefits such as price discount, convenience, increase ARPU. However, a market dominant player in a specific market may transfer its market power to another market by selling bundling services. SSNIP has been adopted to provide a market definition. However, SSNIP is not suitable to measure the effect of market power transition through bundling services because SSNIP cannot measure the effect of changeover sales of bundling services. Thus, in this study, we have investigated the effect of market power transition through bundling services reflecting market power effect and quality upgrade using Gross Upward Market Power Pressure Index metho and reviewed UPP and derivative UPP models.

  • Unlike the mean-variance approach, the stochastic dominance approach is to form a portfolio that stochastically dominates a predetermined benchmark portfolio such as KOSPI. This study is to search a set of portfolio weights for the first-order stochastic dominance with maximum expected return by managing the constraint set and the objective function separately. A nonlinear programming algorithm was developed and tested with promising results against Korean stock market data sets.

Impacts of Innovative EU Companies on Smaller Emerging Markets under an Open Economy

  • Purpose - This study aims to analyze the relationship between trends in innovative EU industries and market distribution in smaller emerging markets under an open economy. Research design, data, and methodology - Although innovation was well-distributed, due to socio-economic factors following European integration, CEE had not achieved sustainable economic growth. However, this paper analyzes the differences among changes in CEE innovation for smaller emerging markets dominated since 2000. Market distribution has facilitated new markets for innovative industries, according to EU surveys and economic indicators. Results - The dominance of the local industrial market distribution has deterred innovation investment the survey shows that innovation investment has been shrinking, despite the EU's open innovation policy for CEE employment and R&D. For the CEE case, there were expectation gaps and uncertainty about whether to use the new distribution dominance or TNCs' innovation in smaller emerging countries without local industrial innovation. Conclusions - Innovation generates market growth and distribution power however, small growth requires stimulation, and creativity and innovative edge need further focus in local public and corporate strategy.

Analytically defining the first derivative of the objective function, an optimal algorithm of nonlinear programming was developed to search a set of optimal weights systematically and tested with promising results against veal data sets from Korean stock market.

  • In this paper, we try to analyze the likelihood of exercising the power of market dominance by certain generators in future power industry of Korea. Firstly, we estimated installed generation capacity and sales volume of electricity in Korea, based on 'The 3rd Long Term Power Plan' which was announced in December 2006. Secondly, we calculated HHI, an index showing the degree of concentration of an industry, and RSI, an index showing how adequate the supply of goods or services of an industry is, using Fast-Forward. Thirdly, assuming a major generator employs the strategy of withholding a part of its available capacity at a peak time, we simulated hypothetical movement of SMP over a certain period of time, which is compared with that obtained without assuming such strategy to generate Lerner Index. an index showing the degree of market power of a monopoly. Regulators, home and abroad, have not given much interest in analyzing the effect of market dominance that is likely to be exercised by certain players in the future. That said, this paper provides insight into developing methodologies of analyzing and mitigating such effect by proposing the above indices to gauge it. In addition, this paper also shows the potential impact of employing capacity withholding strategy on the financial account of a dominant generator.

남·녀 고등학생의 성격특성과 의복태도 (The Personal Characteristics and Clothing Attitude on High School Students)

  • The young casual wear market has been recently increased by the great buying power of the target consumers, although they don't have their own discretionary income. The purpose of this study was to investigate clothing attitudes of the adolescent consumers of the young casual wear market according to the groups of personality types. The questions on introversion/extroversion of MBTI test were adopted to measure introversion/extroversion in personal characteristics. The questions in "The personality diagnosis of high school students" developed by Lee, Chongseung and Chung, Bummo were adopted to measure stability, dominance, sociability and autonomy. Variables of clothing attitudes were composed with attentiveness, modesty and conformity. A total 488 high school students in Seoul participated in the survey. SPSS Win 10 statistical package was used to analyze the data: frequency, t-test, ANOVA and factor analysis. After statistical analysis, the following results were found. Groups of introversion and extroversion, and groups of low, medium and high degree of stability, dominance, sociability and autonomy showed no significant difference based on sex difference and school types. Students who has a high extroversion showed a high degree of attentiveness in clothing attitudes. Students who has the lowest sociability and the lowest autonomy showed a high degree of attentiveness. Students with the lowest autonomy showed a high degree of conformity. The younger the students were, the higher their attentiveness and modesty in clothing attitudes.

An Integrative Framework of the Determinants for the Emergence of a Next-Generation Dominant Display

  • This study uses the concept of dominant design to identify the determinants for the emergence of a next-generation dominant electronic display. It employs multiple research methods with the participation of display experts, which combine case studies, an unstructured interview, and the Delphi method. The results show that based on technological innovation and market dominance, a next-generation dominant display is more likely to emerge as a result of technological competition between liquid crystal displays (LCDs) and organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). The findings emphasize that the importance of rapid technological innovation, including component and process innovations, and a competitive edge in manufacturing costs are important. The study sheds light on our understanding of dominance in an industry and market, and also provides strategic guidance for practitioners to establish a competitive strategy.

휴대폰 디자인에 있어서 지배성 변화 측정 (Measuring Changes of Dominance in Designs of Mobile Phones)

  • 본 연구는 디자인요소의 변화과정을 통해 제품디자인요소(product design factors)의 지배력 정도(dominant degree)를 실증적으로 분석하고 있다. 선행연구에서는 지배적 디자인에 대한 측정방법은 구체적으로 제시되었지만 장기간에 걸쳐 데이터를 확보하지 못한 한계점으로 시간의 흐름에 따른 지배적 디자인(dominant design)의 실증연구가 제시되지 않았다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 연도별 디자인 변화 데이터를 확보한 후 휴대폰의 디자인 지배력(dominance)과 지배구조(structure change)가 어떻게 변했는지를 측정해 보았다. 측정결과, 휴대폰 디자인요소 중 바디형태(body form)와 모서리(edge)는 지배력(dominance)이 점점 증가하여 각각 직사각형으로 라운드 모서리로 집중화(convergence)되는 경향인 지배적 디자인요소를 가지고 있었고, 버튼방식(button type), 개폐방식(open type), DMB여부, 영상통화여부, 컬러조합, 바디컬러는 지배력이 높았다가 감소되면서 디자인수준(design levels)이 분산화(divergence) 되는 경향을 가지고 있었다. 이렇게 제품디자인요소의 지배력 정도를 측정함으로써 마케팅 관리자나 디자이너들에게 급변하는 시장 상황에서 제품전략을 수립하는데 도움이 될 것이다. 본 연구는 지배적 디자인에 대한 실증연구를 통해 신제품 개발시 지배적 디자인 등장에 대비한 성공적인 제품 개발의 가이드라인을 제공하는데 도움이 될 수 있다.
