A Study on Spatial Modeling Framework for Marine GIS (에이전트 기반의 해양공간정보시스템 모델링 연구)

  • With a rapid growing of information networks and development achievements in mobile technology the spatial information is one of the most important resources for modern daily life. But the speed of spatial information technology trends are far from the real service demands as compared to the other relevant fields, and it would be natural that this unbalanced gap between the supply and demand of spatial information technology is being resulted from the absence of appropriate modeling concepts at some extents. In this paper there would be shown a new approaching model for the spatial information system based on agent concepts, which is able to perform some spatial tasks if properly implemented afterward. And to give resonable background of the new modeling framework here also some known critics for the commonly used modeling approaches when they applied to spatial information modeling followed by several alternative requirements for a good spatial modeling framework. And also there would be some considerations for applying this approach to the marine geographic information communities.

  • For the structure of AVLS is required to the GPS-MDT for realtime acquisition the position reporting of vehicle and traffic management S/W. It is necessary that the MODEM using VHF transceiver base on GPS and monitoring program for display base on GIS the traffic status by vehicles position report in management system. The other wise, vehicles among management system that is required the automatic communications protocol for GPS information and mobile's ID. In his paper have studied the VHF modem for transmission the voice and data at same time and S/W for management system using GIS-tool.

  • The land area, which is on the inner side of the water line, is controlled to a certain degree due to the purposes of space utilities controllers' respective roles, but the sea area is not so much controlled as the land area. However, as interest in the security and utility of the marine space, as well as that in the consistent development of the land space, has increased, there has been increase of the requirement for information about marine data and environment. The object of this study, Busan, plays various roles such as a harbor and bay, a tourist resort, and a port unlike coastal seas of other areas, and thus needs systematic control because it has numerous environmental factors. However, there are limitations in the number of data about Busan coastal sea constantly provided while the acquisition of data from main points and many areas is important for the analysis of marine contamination in Busan coastal sea area. Thus, using nautical charts with numerical values in preparing increase of the demand of them according to the degree of information requirement for the analysis of the changes in coastal areas, this study constructs property data and space data by combining vertex data about Busan's 17 coastal sea areas provided by NFRDI, and tries to present the analytical techniques for grasping the environmental conditions and continuity of the coastal areas and methods of their utilities, using GIS Geostatistical Analysis Technique.

  • IHO has established S-100 Standard profiled from ISO 19100 GIS standards for standardization and improvement of hydrographic data and are developing S-10X Standards. IMO is implementing the e-Navigation strategy for maritime safety and marine environment protection and has established the CMDS as information standard framework which will be developed from the S-100 standard. The development domain of e-Navigation can be divided into onboard, communication network, onshore and VTS is a core actor in onshore system. In this study, we analyzed the effects of S-100 standard development on VTS through e-Navigation strategy of IMO and suggested the cooperation between hydrographic fields and VTS fields under e-Navigation strategy.

  • Environmental Sensitivity Index Map(ESI Map) is useful information for efficient and prompt contolling of oil spill accident. Environmental sensitivity information relating to oil spill is very various, so efficient access and utilization for environmental sensitivity information at control field is required. In order to improve the efficiency of controlling accident at the field, it is necessary to building digital ESI Map and GIS program. In this study, GIS database was built to utilize environmental sensitivity information at Yeosu and Gyunggi bay. And the ESI Map program which is focused on the control job was developed. IMO/IPIECA's guide to make the ESI Map and Korea Coast Guard's guide to collect information for the control information map were referenced to capture environmental sensitivity data and build GIS database. The symbology of environmental sensitivity layers was defined and functions for supporting control job were implemented in ESI Map program. For the future works, the program in this study could be applied to ESI Map program for the whole coastal area of Korea and it could be the essential element technology in marine pollution control supporting system.

  • Red tide(harmful algae) in the Korean Coastal Waters has a given a great damage to the fishery every year. However, the aim of our study understands the influence of meteorological factors (air and water temperature, precipitation, sunshine, solar radiation, winds) relating to the mechanism of red tide occurrence and monitors red tide by satellite remote sensing, and analyzes the potential area for red tide occurrence by GIS. The meteorological factors have directly influenced on red tide formation. Thus, We want to predict and apply to red tide formation from statistical analyses on the relationships between red tide formation and meteorological factors. In future, it should be realized the near real time monitoring for red tide by the development of remote sensing technique and the construction of integrated model by the red tide information management system (the data base of red tide - meteorological informations). Finally our purpose is support to the prediction information for the possible red tide occurrence by coastal meteorological information and contribute to reduce the red tide disaster by the prediction technique for red tide.

  • 1970년부터 해운대 신시가지 조성 및 춘천의 복개공사, 해안 주변의 매립, 도로건설 등의 연안 관련 사업이 환경에 미치는 종합적인 영향에 대한 검토도 없이 시행되어, 해운대 백사장으로 유입되어야 할 토사가 주공급원인 육지로부터 잠정적으로 차단되었다. 해운대 해수욕장의 해빈이 갈수록 감소되고 있는 가운데, 유실된 토사가 퇴적되는 연안의 해저지형에 대한 조사를 통해 정량적인 분석과 기간별 침퇴적 경향을 알아보는 연구가 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 수심 측량 자료를 이용하여 GIS기법으로 해저지형도를 제작하였고, 해저지형을 등간격으로 나누어 각 구간별 침퇴적 경향을 분석해 보았다. 그 결과 계절별로 침퇴적을 반복하고 있었고, 여름에는 침식, 겨울은 퇴적되는 경향을 보였다.

  • A Line Density algorithm was developed to quantify the sea surface temperature distribution using NOAA Sea Surface Temperature(SST) data and Geographic Information Systems(GIS), In addition, a GIS based automation model was designed to extract the Line Density Indices were determined by applying K-means Cluster. SST data in terms of March to May obtained on the coastal area of the Uljin from 2001 to 2004 in spring were used to make two data sets of average sea water temperature map in terms of year as well as month. From the result it was formed that water temperature gradient in April was the strongest among the other months, In particular very strog formation of oceanic front as well as temperature gradients were observed in front of the coastal area around Wonduk and Jukbyeon countries. Because those coastal area is a confront zone of two cold and a warm. It is expected that the development of a Line Density Algorithm would contribute to quantify of the SST for the research of Sea Surface Front(SSF) related to marine life management and the sea environmental conservation.
