사판식 피스톤 펌프 흡입구의 유동 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Flow Characteristics of a Swash-Plate Piston-Pump Inlet)

  • In this study, a cavitation occurrence in a piston-pump inlet was investigated by simulating the pressure distribution, according to the inlet shape of a variable-displacement swash-plate piston pump that supplies high-pressure oil to control the hydraulic system of a marine engine. Two types of pump inlets with different shapes were cast into impression models, and the models were reverse-engineered by 3D scanning. Then, the hydraulic-pressure distribution was analyzed through finite-element analysis. The results of the analysis confirmed that cavitation occurs more easily in the inlet with a steeper slope during pump operation because the inlet pressure on the valve plate is lower than that of the other pump with a gentler inlet slope.

  • DIN CK35 (JIS S35CK) steels have been used as a material in fuel pump blocks for marine engines. Failures in the inner surface of a drilling hole, due to the initiation of fatigue cracks have been frequently reported. However, the mechanism initiating these cracks and growths has not been clearly diagnosed yet. This study was conducted using a scraped fuel pump block, containing an initiated fatigue crack in the inner surface of a drilling hole. Initially, the cracks and fractured surfaces inside the block were investigated using an optical microscope and a SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope). In addition, microstructure observation, fatigue life test and fatigue crack growth test were performed using a specimen, which was taken from the same block. Results from these tests are summarized as follows; (1) The early crack in the block was supposed to occur inside the inner surface of the drilling hole. (2) The fatigue endurance of this material was about 330 Mpa. (3) The early crack was generated in the cavitations created by the breakdown of a big inclusion, or separation between the big inclusion and the base metal, in which the fundamental ingredients of the inclusion were C, 5, and Mn. (4) In order to prevent these types of failures, the suppression of inclusions inflow by improving the casting process, formation of fine inclusions by applying a heat treatment process, and coating of the surface of the drilling hole were required.

  • In this study, a scaled model chamber was built to investigate ventilation characteristics of the Under floor Air-conditioning System. Experimental study was performed in model for cargo-oil pump room with inlet and outlet by visualization equipment with laser apparatus. Instant simultaneous velocity vectors at whole field were measured by 2-D PIV system(CACTUS'2000) which adopted two-frame grey-level cross correlation algorithm. The flow pattern reveals the large scale counterclockwise forced-vortex rotation from upside louver to lower scupper toward diagonal corner and also found small eddies at bottom layer

  • The present experimental study is focused on the application of multi-point simultaneous measurement by PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry) to guide vane region within diffuser pump. Various different kinds of rotational velocity were selected as experimental condition. Optimized cross correlation Identification to obtain velocity vectors is implemented with direct calculation of correlation coefficients. Fine optical setup concerned with PIV performance is arranged for the accurate PIV measurement of high-speed complex flow. Variable flow pattern are represented quantitatively at the stator region.

  • The effect of break down of centrifugal pump due to entrained air has not been clarified yet. Thus, air-water two-phase flow experimental apparatus was installed to clarify the effect of break down. The performance results of a single-phase flow satisfied reappearance. Also, the heads coincided well impeller types.

  • As a reactor coolant pump(RCP) is operated in the nuclear power system for a long time. so its surface is continuously contaminated by radioactive scales. In order to perform regular or emergency repair about RCP internals a special decontamination process should be used to reduce the radiation from the RCP surface by means of chemical cleaning. In this study, applicable possibility in chemical decontamination for RCP was investigated on the various materials. The STS 304 showed the best electrochemical properties for corrosion resistance than other materials. However, the pitting corrosion was slightly generated in both STS 415 and STS 431 with the increasing numbers of cycle and intergranular corrosion were sporadically observed. The size of their pitting corrosion and intergranular corrosion were also increased with increasing cycle numbers.

  • A special usage impeller pump for ballast water treatment is part of an offshore plant's structure. It has to maintain a high corrosion resistance in an extreme environment, in which it can contact several kinds of aqueous solutions. The duplex stainless steel used in such severe environments is known to have corrosion resistance and excellent mechanical properties. This study estimated the performance of an impeller pump system designed using duplex stainless steel through a computational fluid dynamics analysis. As a result, it was determined that the pressure drop increases and the impeller performance is lowered if the equivalent roughness is enlarged. The surface precision of the duplex stainless steel must be consistently maintained. If thisis the case, it was determined that the existing STS steel can be substituted for the Duplex stainless steel.

  • 기어 끝단과 하우징 사이의 간극이 회전방향으로 편심된 인벌류트펌프에서 체적유량과 유량효율을 검토하였다. 해석은 k-e 모델을 이용하여 FLUENT/R-13을 사용하여 기어의 회전속도, 간극의 거리 및 출구압력이 주어져 있을 경우 난류유동을 해석하였다. 동심축과 편심축의 경우 체적유량을 비롯한 유동특성에 대해 독립변수들의 영향은 지속되었으나 회전방향에 대한 압력 분포는 서로 달라 편심의 경우 상류부에서 대부분의 압력이 상승하고 하류부의 압력은 거의 일정한 특성을 보였으며 편심의 영향이 클수록 이러한 현상은 심하게 나타났다. 편심펌프에서 유동특성은 최소 간극에 의존하며 체적유량 혹은 체적효율은 편심되기 전 동심축보다 크나 최소간극과 같은 크기의 동심펌프보다는 작다. 펌프에서 기어축의 편심에 의한 간극 축소는 펌프성능에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다.

LPLi 시스템에서 외장형 펌프의 연료조성 및 온도에 따른 성능특성 연구 (Performance Characteristics with Various Fuel Composition and Temperature for an External Type Fuel Pump in LPLi System)

  • LPG 연료공급방식은 배출가스를 저감시킬 수 있는 유용한 시스템으로 연구가 지속적으로 진행되고 있다. LPG는 경유와 휘발유보다 높은 증기압과 낮은 점도와 표면장력을 유지하므로 고무류와 화학 반응에 따른 연료펌프의 기계적인 손상으로 내구성이 저하되고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 LPLi 시스템에서 유지보수의 편리함과 가격경쟁을 위해 개발된 외장형 펌프를 사용하여 LPG 연료의 조성 및 온도에 따른 특성을 평가하고자 실험을 하였다. 그 결과로서, 내장형 펌프와 외장형 펌프의 성능차이는 거의 없으며 프로판 함유율이 높고, 연료온도가 높아짐에 따라 유량은 많아지나 펌프효율은 거의 차이가 없었다. 또한 LPG 자동차 연료공급장치의 특성상 연료조성 및 온도변화에 따른 차압도 거의 일정하게 나타내었다.
