선박용 흡수식 냉동기의 냉매적용 냉각 시스템 성능 분석 (Performance analysis of a cooling system with refrigerant in a marine absorption refrigerator)

  • 최근 조선사들은 선박이 운항되는 연안 환경의 개선과 보호를 위하여 $CO_2$를 절감할 수 있는 친환경 선박과 함께 선박 운항 중 소비하는 에너지의 절감을 위한 고효율화 선박 개발의 노력도 활발하게 수행하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 전기로 구동되는 선박의 증기압축식 냉동기 대신에 선박 엔진 자켓수의 폐열을 이용하여 냉방을 할 수 있는 흡수식 냉동기의 적용 가능성과 냉각시스템에 냉매를 적용하는 시스템의 성능을 분석하였다. 연구결과, 해수와 열교환하여 액화될 수 있는 냉매들 중 R236fa가 가장 적합한 냉매로 분석되었으며, 이를 적용한 흡수식 냉동기의 COP는 0.798로 육상의 냉각탑을 이용한 수랭식보다 15% 그리고 해수 열교환기식 수랭식보다 5% 향상되었다. 냉동능력 1RT를 얻기 위한 LiBr 흡수용액 순환량은 0.013 kg/s로 수랭식 보다 25% 이상 감소하며, 냉각 매체 순환량도 수랭식의 15.7%에 불과한 매우 효과적인 냉동기가 되었다. 해수온도가 $18^{\circ}C$ 이하로 낮으면 발생하게 되는 LiBr의 결정화는 재생기에서 배출되는 엔진 자켓수의 온도를 이용하여 해수 온도를 상승시킴으로써 방지할 수 있다.

  • Keeping cooling water temperature higher within the allowable range helps marine engines to run in more efficient condition especially when the engine load is low. Temperature control of jacket cooling water in outlet side of main engine has been more widely adopted to ships these days for the purpose to reduce fuel consumption rate. But If the temperature sensor for the control loop is placed at the outlet of engine, it brings more difficulties in attaining stable and desirable properties due to dead times included in pipe length and engine itself comparing to the case where the measuring point is at the inlet side of main engine. In relation with this problem, Feed-forward control could be one of realistic solutions as it reveals good properties and requires less cost for system configuration. This study suggests a forward control system which leads to improved temperature control performances to disturbance signals which could arise from variation of engine load or weather condition. Two dead times in the modelling were described, considering pipe length between the actuator and the engine as well as the thermal process inside the engine. The results of analysis were shown by simulations to confirm responses under different conditions.

  • Thermal energy storage(TES) cooling system using cheaper electricity of off-peak time has been applied to relief a significant portion of the peak demand of electricity during the daytime in summer. Slurry ice type thermal energy storage cooling system is one kind of more efficient ice-thermal energy storage cooling system than Ice-on-Coil type or Encapsulated type TES cooling system, even though, which are more popular TES system. This study is experimented to observe flow pattern and formation of slurry ice in reversing flow to improve efficiency of heat transfer between fluid and freezing tube.

  • 진공예냉장치에서 상대습도변화 및 냉각온도변화에 따른 야채류의 온도변화에 대하여 고찰한 논문이다. 실험장치는 진공챔버, 이젝트펌프, 냉동기장치, 계측장치 및 냉각수 계통으로 구성되어 있다. 실험결과 야채류의 냉각속도는 야채류의 함수율에 크게 의존하고 있으며, 함수율이 높은 야채가 낮은 야채에 비하여 냉각속도가 증가하는 것을 알 수 있다.

  • Recently, the fuel charge is accounted for very high in the navigation cost. Therefore Shipowner is tried to find method for reducing oil consumption. ERCS(Energy Reduced Cooling System) is one of the method. The ERCS algorithm operates to decrease a power consumption of main sea water cooling pump through inverter control. We have developed ERCS controller with algorithm. The ERCS controller consists of CPU board, Digital I/O board, A/D board, D/A board and LCD/SW board. We tested with dummy signal to confirm the algorithm working correctly and achieved the good results. Before soon we will test under real condition in the ship and expect to get the result as forecasted.

  • The cooling system is one of the most concerning factor for the reliability of the electric propulsion ship. Generally, a drive system operation in higher temperature decreases the device's reliability and power efficiency. The management of power loss and temperature of switching devices is indispensable for the reliability of the power electric system. In this paper, the switching devices are molded by IGBT, and the propulsion system is consisted of MIIR(Motor with Inverter Internal to Rotor). The system composition interacts with each other to calculate the loss and temperature of device. The calculation result is used for modeling and designing of the control and monitoring system for the electric propulsion system.

  • The fuel charge is getting higher in navigation cost. Therefore, shipowners try to find the method for reducing oil consumption. ESS(Energy Saving System) is one of he method. ESS is the system consisted with two inverters, ESS control unit and monitoring system. Two inverters control two main sea water cooling pumps. In the ESS control Unit, the control algorithm finds optimized point to decrease a power consumption of main sea water cooling pumps. Monitoring system observes ESS not to work improperly. ESS is experimented in the laboratory with real condition and analyzed in every view. After experiment, the result of the experiment shows that the control algorithm works correctly and safely. ESS has a plan to be operated in the ship soon. In that case, additional devices are needed to connect ESS with cooling system of the vessel. So the development of addition device is needed and being studied.

화력발전소 냉각계통이 해양생물에 미치는 영향 I. 기초생산력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Cooling Water System of a Power Plant on Marine Organisms I. Effects on Primary Production)

  • 본 연구는 1985년 5월부터 1986년 5월까지 삼천포 화력발전소를 대상으로 발전소 냉각계통의 가동이 식물플랑크톤의 기초생산력에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 실시되었다. 발전소 냉각계통이 총기초생산력에 미치는 영향은 평균 $7.5\~58.9\%(4.6\~12.1mgC/m^3/h)$이었으며, 순기초생산력의 경우는 이보다 높은 수준이 $58.7\~83.5\%(8.4\~11.9mgC/m^3/h)$. 영향요인 중 가장 큰 요소는 냉각계통 통과시 입는 기계적인 영향으로 그 범위가 $21.1\~110.7\%$에 달하였다. 삼천포 화력발전소 냉각계통에 이한 식물성탄소에 해당하는 량으로 추계되었다.

다양한 냉각방법에 따른 수평채널 내 전자부품의 열전달 특성 (Heat Transfer Characteristics of Electronic Components in a Horizontal Channel According to Various Cooling Methods)

  • Heat transfer characteristics of protruding electronic components in a horizontal channel are studied numerically. The system consists of two horizontal channels formed by two covers and one printed circuit board which has three uniform protruding heat source blocks. A two-dimensional numerical model has been developed to predict the conjugate heat transfer. and the finite volume method is used to solve the problem. Five different cooling methods are considered to examine the heat transfer characteristics of electronic components according to the different cooling methods. The velocity and temperature of cooling medium and the temperature of the heat source blocks are obtained. The results of the five different cooling methods are compared to find out the most efficient cooling method in a given geometry and heat sources.

  • Thermal characteristics of the various cooling methods in electronic equipment are studied numerically. A common chip cooling system is modeled as a parallel channel with protruding heat sources. A two-dimensional model has been developed for the numerical analysis of compressible. viscous. laminar flow. and conjugate heat transfer between parallel plates with uniform block heat sources. The finite volume method is used to solve this problem. The assembly consists of two channels formed by two covers and one printed circuit board that is assumed to have three uniform heat source blocks. Various cooling methods are considered to find out the efficient cooling method in a given geometry and heat sources. The velocity and the temperature fields. the local temperature distribution along the surface of blocks. and the maximum temperature in each block are obtained. The results are compared to examine the thermal characteristics of the different cooling methods both quantitatively and qualitatively.
