The notion of quasi-valuation maps based on a subalgebra and an ideal in BCK/BCI-algebras is introduced, and then several properties are investigated. Relations between a quasi-valuation map based on a subalgebra and a quasi-valuation map based on an ideal is established. In a BCI-algebra, a condition for a quasi-valuation map based on an ideal to be a quasi-valuation map based on a subalgebra is provided, and conditions for a real-valued function on a BCK/BCI-algebra to be a quasi-valuation map based on an ideal are discussed. Using the notion of a quasi-valuation map based on an ideal, (pseudo) metric spaces are constructed, and we show that the binary operation * in BCK-algebras is uniformly continuous.
The demand for map applications in both Web and mobile environments has been rapidly increased with the population of Web and smart phone usage. Web-based map applications are mostly developed on such environments as ArcGIS and MapServer and mobile map applications are developed on such API levels as Google Maps and Yahoo Maps. But many parts of map applications are still constructed by coding because these environments don't support high level of automation. Our MapAppGen that we have designed and implemented enhances the Web-based map application productivity by generating the map related modules that can be applied to the Drupal that is one of popular content management systems(CMS's). Comparing the applications that are constructed by the Drupal-supported GMap or NodeMap, the applications that are constructed by MapAppGen provide information on not only the interested geographical feature but also its related geographical features. MapAppGen uses Google Maps API and Drupal is a module-based system that supports the creation, composition and management of contents. We are now working on automatic generation of mobile map applications with MapAppGen.

A demand on the spatial data management has been rapidly increased with the introduction and diffusion process of ITS, Telematics, and Wireless Sensor Network, and many different people use the digital map that offers various thematic spatial data. Spatial data for digital map can manage to tile-based and feature-based data. The existing tile-based digital map management systems have difficult problems of data construction, history management, and updating based on a spatial object. In order to solve these problems, this paper proposed the data model for the feature-based digital map management system that is designed for feature-based seamless map, history management, real-time updating of spatial data, and analyzed the validity and utility of the proposed model.
An autonomous semantic-map building method is proposed, with the robot localized in the semantic-map. Our semantic-map is organized by objects represented as SIFT features and vision-based relative localization is employed as a process model to implement extended Kalman filters. Thus, we expect that robust SLAM performance can be obtained even under poor conditions in which localization cannot be achieved by classical odometry-based SLAM

A new reference point location method based on an edge map is proposed, where an orientation map is defined and used to find the edge map. Experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively detect the core point in poor quality and arch-type fingerprint images and produces better results in terms of the detection rate and accuracy than the sine map-based method.

This study is on the adapting vehicle-based mobile mapping system to the frequent unscheduled revision of 1:5000 scale national base map. We analyzed map layers which could be built by vehicle-based mobile mapping systems and studied surveying methods for each layers. Also, the methods of maintain surveying accuracy to satisfy accuracy standards of national base map were suggested. The maps of Yeouido, Hyangnam, and Suwon area were revised by vehicle-based mobile mapping system on a trial bases and possibility of utilizing vehicle-based mobile mapping system for map revision was analyzed. As a results it was revealed that vehicle-based mobile mapping systems were adequate for a irregular revision of national base map.
Map building is essential to a mobile robot navigation system. Localization and path planning methods depend on map building strategies. A topological map is commonly constructed using the GVG(Generalized Voronoi Graph). The advantage of the GVG based topological map is compactness. But the GVG method have many difficulties because it consists of collision-free path. In this paper, we proposed an extended map building method, the AVG (Areal Voronoi Graph) based topological map. The AVG based topological map consists of collision-free area. This feature can improve map building, localization and path planning performance.

An accurate and compact map is essential to an autonomous mobile robot system. For navigation, it is efficient to use an occupancy grid map because the environment is represented by probability distribution. But it is difficult to apply it to the large environment since it needs a large amount of memory proportional to the environment size. As an alternative, a topological map can be used to represent it in terms of the discrete nodes with edges connecting them. It is usually constructed by the Voronoi-like graphs, but in this paper the topological map is incrementally built based on the local grid map using the thinning algorithm. This algorithm can extract only meaningful topological information by using the C-obstacle concept in real-time and is robust to the environment change, because its underlying local grid map is constructed based on the Bayesian update formula. In this paper, the position probability is defined to evaluate the quantitative reliability of the end nodes of this thinning-based topological map (TTM). The global TTM can be constructed by merging each local TTM by matching the reliable end nodes determined by the position probability. It is shown that the proposed TTM can represent the environment accurately in real-time and it is readily extended to the global TTM.
The purpose of this research is to apply GIS(Geographic Information System) for the road simulation and find some benefits analysis for the design processes. The northern Jeju island was selected as a case study. The 1/5,000 digital map and GIS technique were used for optimum road design of the island based on Arc View software. Using this software we can get an overlay map by combination of hill shade map, slope map, aspect map, and building buffer map. Based on the overlay map, we designed the optimum road line and performed three dimensional simulation. From the results, we found that the developed three dimensional road simulation technique using GIS technique that was very useful tool to estimate the reasonable road design before the real road construction works.
