  • In the present manuscript, we employ the concepts of Θ-map and Φ-map to define a strong (𝜃, 𝜙)s-contraction of a map f in a b-metric space (M, db). Then we prove and derive many fixed point theorems as well as we provide an example to support our main result. Moreover, we utilize our results to obtain many results in the settings of metric and G-metric spaces. Our results improve and modify many results in the literature.

  • Multi-objective design exploration (MODE) and its applications are reviewed as an attempt to utilize numerical simulation in aerospace engineering design. MODE reveals the structure of the design space based on trade-off information. A self-organizing map (SOM) is incorporated into MODE as a visual data mining tool for the design space. SOM divides the design space into clusters with specific design features. This article reviews existing visual data mining techniques applied to engineering problems. Then, we discuss three applications of MODE: multidisciplinary design optimization for a regional-jet wing, silent supersonic technology demonstrator and centrifugal diffusers.

  • We analyze $MAP_1,\;MAP_2$/G/1 finite queues with service scheduling function dependent upon queue lengths. The customers are classified into two types. The arrivals of customers are assumed to be the Markovian Arrival Processes (MAPs). The service order of customers in each buffer is determined by a service scheduling function dependent upon queue lengths. Methods of embedded Markov chain and supplementary variable give us information for queue length of two buffers. Finally, the performance measures such as loss probability and mean waiting time are derived. Some numerical examples also are given with applications in telecommunication networks.

  • Most of GIS services have been operated in single applications, and as data processing and computer and mobile technologies have developed rapidly, users request for efficient sharing between each GIS's own data and various different GIS's. However, since many GIS applications maintain their own data formats, they are incapable of processing data formats different with each other, and do not have a filtering function for mobile GIS. This paper designs an integrated preprocessor, SMP to accept features of various current formats of geographic information such as DXF(Drawing eXchange Format), DWG(DraWinG), SHP(SHaPefile), etc., and to extract core information for describing maps. The geographic information extracted by SMP(Synthetic Map Preprocessor) shows consistency in various formats by visualizing through the integrated view. By generating the extracted core data in GML, it supports rapid access to mobile devices and extensibility of file formats overcoming heterogeneity.

  • To activate the use of GIS, it is required to support a reliable digi-tal map. A digital map could be the base for other forms of maps as well as for direct applications, In this paper, the structure of such a basic map is pro¬posed. The structure is designed on the consideration of generality and classifica¬tion. The map data files are all character files and classification codes are pro¬posed.

  • Visual saliency detection is an essential task because it is an important part of various vision-based applications. There are many techniques for saliency detection in color images. However, the number of methods for saliency detection in infrared images is limited. In this paper, we introduce a simple approach for saliency detection in infrared images based on the thresholding technique. The input image is thresholded into several Boolean maps, and an initial saliency map is calculated as a weighted sum of the created Boolean maps. The initial map is further refined by using thresholding, morphology operation, and a Gaussian filter to produce the final, high-quality saliency map. The experiment showed that the proposed method has high performance when applied to real-life data.

  • The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze each government's ICT SME support policies to cope with changes in the ICT ecosystem paradigm. In particular, the core policies and policy trends of the Moon's government are presented through keyword network analysis and cognitive map analysis. As a result, core technologies such as ICT(Information Communication Technology), AI(Artificial Intelligence), Big Data, and 5G, which have high values of betweenness centrality and closeness centrality, are major keywords with high propagation power. The cognitive map analysis shows that the opportunity factors for the 4th industrial revolution are being activated through the ICT infrastructure circulation process, the domestic market circulation process, and the global market circulation process. This study is meaningful in terms of cognitive map analysis and utilization based on scientific analysis.

  • The 3D-AVC standard aims at improving coding efficiency by applying new techniques for utilizing intra, inter and view predictions. 3D video scenes are rendered with existing texture video and additional depth map. The depth map comes at the expense of increased computational complexity of the encoding process. For real-time applications, reducing the complexity of 3D-AVC is very important. In this paper, we present a fast intra mode decision algorithm to reduce the complexity burden in the 3D video system. The proposed algorithm uses similarity between texture video and depth map. The best intra prediction mode of the depth map is similar to that of the corresponding texture video. The early decision algorithm can be made on the intra prediction of depth map coding by using the coded intra mode of texture video. Adaptive threshold for early termination is also proposed. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm saves the encoding time on average 29.7% without any significant loss in terms of the bit rate or PSNR value.

  • In the preceding studies, an analysis of Saga Prefectural sightseeing information by a Self-Organizing Map (SOM) has been tried. And recent development on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) will help us to access any results via the mobile devices easily. This is why the mobile devices, e.g., smartphones and tablet computers, have an operating system installed, and we can improve their functions by downloading any applications on the Web. Then, in order to realize this basic idea, development of an application for the mobile devices is investigated through some computer simulations on the standard desktop PC in this paper. As a result, it is found that i) a developed feature map is useful to identify some candidate topics, ii) a touchscreen is suitable to show the feature map, and iii) arrangement of the feature map can be modified based on our interests. Then, it is concluded that the proposed idea seems to be applicable, even though further consideration is required to brush it up.
