군용차량 클러치 내구수명 향상에 대한 연구 (Design Technique for Durability Improvement of Military Vehicle Clutch System)

  • 국군이 운용중인 대부분의 군 전용차량은 개발이 완료된지 15년이 넘었으며, 개발 당시의 기술력과 정비성을 고려하여 수동변속기를 채택하고 있다. 수동변속기는 엔진과 변속기 사이에 동력을 조절/차단하는 클러치를 포함한다. 본 연구의 대상이 되는 2.5톤 군용차량은 수동변속기와 클러치 시스템을 적용하고, 클러치 커버와 릴리스 베어링 간극을 수동으로 조절해야 했다. 이러한 특성으로 인하여 클러치 디스크 조기마모, 클러치 커버 파손 등의 품질문제가 발생하였다. 본 연구는 발생된 품질문제를 해결하기 위하여, 클러치 커버와 릴리스 베어링의 간극을 자동으로 설정하도록 하고 클러치 디스크 자체의 성능도 향상시키는 과정을 거쳤다. 개선된 시스템을 평가하기 위해서, 단시간에 기어변속을 하는 가속내구시험을 수행하였으며 추가적으로 군인이 직접 운전을 하여 차량에 적용하였을 때 이상이 없음을 증명하였다. 본 연구활동을 통해, 클러치 간극을 조정할 필요가 없도록 하여 차량 정비 인력의 정비시간을 단축하였다. 또한, 클러치 간극을 조정해 주지 못함으로써 발생되는 품질문제를 해소하여, 근본적인 개선책을 제시하였다고 볼 수 있다.

  • Fuel efficiency in tractor operations dep6nds on the selection of transmission gears and upon the engine being operated at or near maximum torque much of time. The objective of this study was to develop automatic control systems for tractor transmission ratio and governor setting so that the engine is operated at or near maximum torque as much of time as possible. An indoor test unit, which can be used to simulate tractor operation, was built in order to investigate the system design parameters and test the performance of the control system designed. The test-unit consists of engine, gear-type transmission, dynamometer, and control systems for transmission ratio and engine speed. Governor setting lever was controlled by a step motor, and the clutch and transmission levers were controlled by hydraulic cylinders and solenoid valves. The control systems showed good time responses which are assumed to be suitable for optimal tractor operation. The time required for shifting gears from clutch disengagement to engagement was about 1 second, which is almost the same as that for manual shift. And the settling time for engine speed control system was about 5 to 6 seconds.

자동차 클러치 다이어프램 스프링 하중 특성 및 민감도 해석 (Load Characteristics and Sensitivity Analysis for an Automotive Clutch Diaphragm Spring)

  • An analytical solution for deflection-load characteristics of a conical disk spring used especially in the automotive manual transmission clutch applications is proposed in order to take into account the effects of friction and large deformation. The conical disk spring, or the diaphragm spring, has a hinge support, an application point of release load at the tip of the fingers and an application point of clamp load near but inside the outer perimeter of the conical disk spring. The friction coefficient is assumed to be a constant regardless of the speed of deflection and the magnitude of loads. Comparison with experimental shows a good agreement with the analytical prediction. Also, the sensitivity of the clamp load due to variations in the geometrical parameters of the conical disk spring is calculated and discussed.

차량모델을 고려한 햅틱 큐 기어변속보조 시스템의 성능평가 (Performance Evaluation of Driver Supportive System with Haptic Cue Gear-shifting Function Considering Vehicle Model)

  • This paper proposes a driver supportive device with haptic cue function which can transmit optimal gear shifting timing to a driver without requiring the driver's visual attention. Its performance is evaluated under vehicle model considering automotive engine, transmission and vehicle body. In order to achieve this goal, a torque feedback device is devised and manufactured by adopting the MR (magnetorheological) fluid and clutch mechanism. The manufactured MR clutch is then integrated with the accelerator pedal to construct the proposed haptic cue device. A virtual vehicle emulating a four-cylinder four-stroke engine, manual transmission system of a passenger vehicle and vehicle body is constructed and communicated with the manufactured haptic cue device. Control performances including torque tracking and fuel efficiency are experimentally evaluated via a simple feed-forward control algorithm.

  • 전북 익산시 R회사에서 기 개발된 세미오토 클러치는 수동클러치 차량의 기어 변속시 클러치 페달을 밟아야하는 불편함을 해소하고자 만들어진 장치로써 클러치 페달을 밟지 않고, 운전자가 기어봉에 위치한 스위치 조작만으로도 클러치 동작을 제어할 수 있다. 차량의 변속과정에서 클러치 동작을 제어하기 위해 센서를 설치하여 차량정보를 수집하여 제어하였다. 그러나, 센서 기반의 제어기는 열악한 운전조건에서 고장 원인이 되고 있으며, 차량에 설치하고 보수하는 과정에서 시간소요가 과다하여 많은 불편을 가지고 있었다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 차량의 ECU와 CAN통신을 통해 차량의 주행정보를 수집하여 제어하고, 공압 액추에이터로 클러치를 동작시키는 세미오토 클러치를 개발하였다. 개발된 공압 액추에이터의 정상적인 동작을 위해서는 최소 3bar이상이 요구되었다.

  • For commercial vehicles with a manual transmission, the pneumatic and fluid pressure servo-device is widely used for transmitting large torque. However, the pneumatic and fluid pressure servo-device usually results in non-linear variation of foot-efforts, also such characteristics tend to increase physical fatigue of drivers who drive commercial vehicles for a long time. Thus, vehicle manufacturers consider the hysteresis loops in the Clutch Actuation System (CAS) design when a new vehicle model is being developed. In this study, we numerically simulate the hysteresis loops for predictable CAS design, and the experimental results confirm the simulation results.

수동 변속기 내 기어 선형해석을 통한 동역학적 해석 (Linear Analysis of Geared System with a Manual Transmission)

  • Vibro-impacts in manual transmissions result due to several nonlinearities such as multi-staged clutch characteristics and gear backlashes. For the sake of understanding the torsional system, one specific manual transmission with front engine and front wheel drive configuration is investigated with a linear model under the several assumptions substituting the nonlinear factors. First, this system is examined with the mathematical approaches by expressing the governing equations to find out the torsional motions. Second, this system is analyzed using the linear model in order to understand its modal and frequency response characteristics using eigensolution method and the FRF(Frequency Responses Function) analysis. Third, with the given results from the eigensolutions, several mode shapes are investigated related to the torsional motion characteristics. Fourth, the system characteristics with the FRFs are studied with the basic approach, with which the several key parameters will be suggested based upon the results in the further studies.

  • With aggravation of environmental contamination and energy resource exhaustion, Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) that can be economically operated with low fuel consumption are receiving greater attention. For performance improvement of such HEV, the development of efficient transmission can be seen as one of core technologies such as performance of components and driving strategy. Dual clutch transmission (DCT) is actively studied as a transmission type for HEV due to its advantages of having excellent power transmission efficiency based on manual transmission characteristic, resolving the problem of power interruption, and realizing driving convenience of automatic transmission (AT). In this paper, one diesel HEV equipped with 6-Speed DCT, modelled using MATLAB/Simulink, and a performance simulator developed for this vehicle are introduced. Driving simulation with driving cycles such as FTP75 and NYCC was performed using the developed performance simulator, and the simulated results regarding state of charge and fuel economy, when AT and DCT are applied to this diesel hybrid vehicle respectively, are compared. This performance simulator can be utilized to develop a control algorithm for improving the fuel economy of HEV with DCT.

  • 자동화 수동변속기는 수동변속기에 액츄에이터를 설치하여 자동으로 수동변속기를 변속할 수 있게 한 변속기로써, 자동화 수동변속기의 조작 편의성과 수동변속기 수준의 높은 연비로 인해 대형 상용차에 많이 적용되고 있다. 대형 상용차에 적용되는 12단 자동화 수동변속기는 다른 자동 변속기와 마찬가지로 자동변속로직과 변속맵에 의해 변속시점을 결정하지만 기존의 방식으로는 변속충격, 클러치 마모, 연비저하 등의 문제점이 발생할 수 있다. 본 논문은 12단 자동화 수동변속기에 알맞은 변속로직 및 변속맵의 설계와 성능확인시험에 대한 내용을 다루고 있다.

  • The rattle noise is the most significant in many kinds of manual gearbox noises, which is generated at the idle stage of the engine operation. The main torsional vibration source of the driveline is the fluctuation of the engine torque. The gear rattle is impacts generating in the backlash of the free gear due to this torsional vibration. Many researchers reported the clutch torsional characteristic optimization method to reduce the idle gear rattle but only few of them give sufficient consideration to the system parameters like gear backlash, drag torque, system inertia, inertia distribution, engine torque fluctuation, idle engine rotation speed, and accessory load. This paper pays attention to the gear impact mechanism and system design parameters to reduce the idle gear rattle with computer simulation.
