Abatement of greenhouse gas emitted from ruminants and promotion of biogas energy from animal effluent were comprehensively examined in each anaerobic fermentation reactor and animal experiments. Moreover, the energy conversion efficiency of biomass energy to power generation were evaluated with a gas engine generator or proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). To mitigate safely rumen methanogenesis with nutritional manipulation the suppressing effects of some strains of lactic acid bacteria and yeast, bacteriocin, $\beta$1-4 galactooligosaccharide, plant extracts (Yucca schidigera and Quillaja saponarea), L-cysteine and/or nitrate on rumen methane emission were compared with antibiotics. For in vitro trials, cumulative methane production was evaluated using the continuous fermented gas qualification system inoculated with the strained rumen fluid from rumen fistulated Holstein cows. For in vivo, four sequential ventilated head cages equipped with a fully automated gas analyzing system were used to examine the manipulating effects of $\beta$1-4 galactooligosaccharide, lactic acid bacteria (Leuconostoc mesenteroides subsp. mesenteroides), yeast (Trichosporon serticeum), nisin and Yucca schidigera and/or nitrate on rumen methanogenesis. Furthermore, biogas energy recycled from animal effluent was evaluated with anaerobic bioreactors. Utilization of recycled energy as fuel for a co-generator and fuel cell was tested in the thermophilic biogas plant system. From the results of in vitro and in vivo trials, nitrate was shown to be a strong methane suppressor, although nitrate per se is hazardous. L-cysteine could remove this risk. $\beta$1-4 galactooligosaccharide, Candida kefyr, nisin, Yucca schidigera and Quillaja saponarea are thought to possibly control methanogenesis in the rumen. It is possible to simulate the available energy recycled through animal effluent from feed energy resources by making total energy balance sheets of the process from feed energy to recycled energy.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of digital mathematics textbook on spatial abilities, interest and achievement of 6th graders. For this, research questions were set as follow: A. Is there any difference in cognitive ability in the space perception test between the experimental group and the control group. B. What distinctive attributes exist between the experimental group and the control group in the Spatial abilities? C. Is there any difference in learners' interest and achievement between the experiment group and the control group. To investigate the research questions, two classes of 6th grade children were selected from an elementary school in Daejeon and assigned one as experimental group and the other as control group. The experimental group studied mathematics using Digital Textbooks under an individual PC environment while the control group studied using the existing book-type textbooks. The following results and conclusions were obtained from the research. First, the effect of the Digital Textbooks on children's mathematics achievement was not statistically meaningful even though there was some progress in children's achievement. Furthermore, it was not found that the usage of a Digital Textbooks consistently influenced improvement in the students' interest in mathematics. Second, there were some positive changes in the achievement of Spatial ability of the middle subgroup of pretest score in the experiment group. It can have some educational implication that the Digital Textbooks can affect positively to the middle group in mathematics achievement who dominated more than 50% of the class. Third, the number of correct answers was found to be somewhat higher than that of the control group in spatial reasoning items. This means that the learning environment with Digital Textbooks allow more opportunities for manipulating geometric objects physically and mentally. Therefore, It seems necessary to offer various resources such as digital contents for students' geometric learning. For future research, It is strongly recommended to fix the bugs of the digital textbook programs and to upgrade the operating system of the computer.

To suggest ecological management plans for invasion of Salix gracilistyla, stepwise environmental sieve of seed dispersal, germination, seedling and juvenile stages were investigated. About 84% of total seeds were released between May 6 and 10. Germination rates significantly declined with decrease of light intensity from 100% to 30% and 0% (p<.001), but above 60% of seeds germinated in all treatments. Difference of germination rates with 0 and 2cm water level was not significant (p = .571). With increase of elapsed time after seed dispersal, germination rates significantly decreased (p<.001), and seed viability was lost within 16 days. Considering both germination rate of seed and survival rate of seedling, survival rate of all dispersed seeds was only 5% when 8 days passed after seed dispersal. All 22-day-old seedlings (height: 1cm) died under flooding of twice level as its height. With decrease of light intensity from 100% to 30%, survival rates of seedling decreased from 90% to 33% (p<.001). In the case of 45-day-old juvenile (height: 20cm), survival rate was 70% under the water level same as its height. There was significant interactive effect of water level and light intensity on the growth of juvenile (height: p<.001, dry weight: p<.01), and survival rate of juvenile was 10% under +20cm-water level and 30%-light intensity condition. The following management plans for invasion of S. gracilistyla are recommended from these results. (1) Dry condition should be maintained at fringe of wetlands for about two weeks at seed dispersal and germination stage (early May~mid May). (2) Water level should be raised to about 5cm at fringe of wetlands for about two weeks at seedling stage (mid May~early June). (3) Water level should be raised to over 20cm at fringe of wetlands for a long time at juvenile stage. Planting trees for shading can raise management effectiveness (mid June~). (4) As water level manipulating is performed as fast as possible for controlling seedling and juvenile, management become easier and more effective.
Anthers from several lines of carrot (Daucus carota L.) were plated on the semi-solid B$_{5}$, basal medium supplemented with 2,4-D and NAA at two concentrations, 1.0 and 2.0 mg/L plus 0.2 mg/L BAP (benzylaminop-urine). Anthers of the most lines on the B$_{5}$ basal medium with 2,4-D showed higher percentages of callus formation than those with NAA. Particularly, in line 45477, highest percentages of callus formation (50%) were observed on B$_{5}$ medium with 1.0 mg/L 2,4-D plus 0.2 mg/L BAP. With 1.0 mg/L 2,4-D, two months was sufficient for initiation of callus development. Calli were regenerated into plantlets through embryogenesis onto regeneration medium without any growth regulators. When callus showing yellowish and soft structure was cultured, it yielded green plants at high regeneration rates, The response of anthers in callus induction and plant regeneration was different among lines investigated. Optimal callus induction and plant regeneration could be obtained through manipulating the concentration of growth regulators. Plantlets after transfer to perlite were grown successfully in greenhouse conditions. Anther culture of carrot will be used as a useful breeding tool in future.
Injury caused by reactive oxygen species (ROS), known as oxidative stress, is one of the major damaging factors in plants exposed to environmental stress. Chloroplasts are specially sensitive to damage by ROS because electrons that escape from the photosynthetic electron transfer system are able to react with relatively high concentration of $O_2$ in chloroplasts. To cope with oxidative stress, plants have evolved an efficient ROS-scavenging enzymes such as superoxide dismutase (SOD) and ascorbate peroxidase (APX), and low molecular weight antioxidants including ascorbate, glutathione and phenolic compounds. To maintain the productivity of plants under the stress condition, it is possible to fortify the antioxidative mechanisms in the chloroplasts by manipulating the antioxidation genes. A powerful gene expression system with an appropriate promoter is key requisite for excellent stress-tolerant plants. We developed a strong oxidative stress-inducible peroxidase (SWPA2) promoter from cultured cells of sweetpotato (Ipomoea batatas) as an industrial platform technology to develop transgenic plants with enhanced tolerance to environmental stress. Recently, in order to develop transgenic sweetpotato (tv. Yulmi) and potato (Solanum tuberosum L. cv. Atlantic and Superior) plants with enhanced tolerance to multiple stress, the genes of both CuZnSOD and APX were expressed in chloroplasts under the control of an SWPA2 promoter (referred to SSA plants). As expected, SSA sweetpotato and potato plants showed enhanced tolerance to methyl viologen-mediated oxidative stress. In addition, SSA plants showed enhanced tolerance to multiple stresses such as temperature stress, drought and sulphur dioxide. Our results strongly suggested that the rational manipulation of antioxidative mechanism in chloroplasts will be applicable to the development of all plant species with enhanced tolerance to multiple environmental stresses to contribute in solving the global food and environmental problems in the 21st century.
Studies on mathematically gifted students have been conducted following Krutetskii. There still exists a necessity for a more detailed research on how these students' mathematical competence is actually displayed during the problem solving process. In this study, it was attempted to analyse the algebraic thinking process in the problem solving a peg puzzle in which 4 mathematically gifted students, who belong to the upper 0.01% group in their grade of elementary school in Korea. They solved and generalized the straight line peg puzzle. Mathematically gifted elementary school students had the tendency to find a general structure using generic examples rather than find inductive rules. They did not have difficulty in expressing their thoughts in letter expressions and in expressing their answers in written language; and though they could estimate general patterns while performing generalization of two factors, it was revealed that not all of them can solve the general formula of two factors. In addition, in the process of discovering a general pattern, it was confirmed that they prefer using diagrams to manipulating concrete objects or using tables. But as to whether or not they verify their generalization results using generalized concrete cases, individual difference was found. From this fact it was confirmed that repeated experiments, on the relationship between a child's generalization ability and his/her behavioral pattern that verifies his/her generalization result through application to a concrete case, are necessary.
Ultrasound devices diagnose many disease, which is widely used, can not be standardized quantitative evaluated in order to evaluate sonography image of quality. Therefore, in this papers, aims to get correct image in order to accurate diagnosis by figuring out the appropriate parameter based on each target by measuring distortion which results in the analyzation of the sensitivity of SNR and the histogram of signal by manipulating parameter of 8 mm target in ATS-539 multipurpose phantom. Equipment using Acuson sequoia 512, convex probe and utilizes multi-objective phantom. experiment method is that first you put the phantom on the flat and acquire 85 sheets of image, changing frequency(2,3,4 MHz, harmonic 3, 4, 4.5 MHz), Focus(2, 4, 6 unit), and Dynamic Range(58, 68, 78, 88, 98) for a 8 mm structure. through the Image J program. The sensitivity angle of 8mm target through Image J program is gauged by each separate target SNR and the distorted angle subtract and measure Histogram of background from Histogram of signal and take top 40% from the given result value above. According to parameter variation we found out proper parameter by acquiring SNR of sensitivity and distortion data for aspect of transition. The more this findings have Focus, the lower distortion value and at 4 MHz frequency this result have high SNR and low distortion value. Dynamic Range got an appropriate image on 88 and 98. It is considered on the basis of the experimental data, the probability of disease diagnosis will get higher.

Background: Coronary involvement in Takayasu's arteritis is a rare but fatal disease. The aim of this study was to evaluate the early and mid-term results of Takayasu's arteritis patients who underwent coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Materials and Methods: Of 2,280 patients who underwent isolated CABG from January 1998 to June 2012, Takayasu's arteritis was identified in 5 patients. There were 3 female patients, and the mean age was $58{\pm}9$ years. Takayasu's arteritis was diagnosed during preoperative evaluation for coronary artery disease in 4 patients, and the initial manifestation was angina pectoris in 4 patients. All of the patients underwent anaortic off-pump CABG (OPCAB) using the in situ left or right internal thoracic arteries (ITA); 3 patients had severe stenosis of the proximal left subclavian artery and the in situ right ITA was used instead. Medical treatment for inflammatory arteritis during the perioperative and follow-up period was performed if indicated. Early, 1-year, and 5-year angiographic results and clinical outcomes were analyzed. Results: There was no surgical mortality, and all of the patients were discharged without complications on postoperative $8{\pm}2$ days. Early postoperative (postoperative $2{\pm}1$ days) angiography demonstrated a graft patency of 100% (12 of 12 distal anastomoses). One-year ($13{\pm}3$ months) angiography was performed in 4 patients, and all of the grafts were patent (100%, 9 of 9 distal anastomoses). Conclusion: By performing anaortic OPCAB in patients with Takayasu's arteritis, we were able to avoid complications associated with manipulating an atherosclerotic and severely calcified ascending aorta. The early and mid-term graft patency of OPCAB in Takayasu's arteritis was maintained when concomitant with medical treatment.
The purpose of this study is to analyze students' misconception in the teaming of the conic sections with the cognitive and pedagogical point of view. The conics sections is very important concept in the high school geometry. High school students approach the conic sections only with algebraic perspective or analytic geometry perspective. So they have various misconception in the conic sections. To achieve the purpose of this study, the research on the following questions is conducted: First, what types of misconceptions do the students have in the loaming of conic sections? Second, what types of errors appear in the problem-solving process related to the conic sections? With the preliminary research, the testing worksheet and the student interviews, the cause of error and the misconception of conic sections were analyzed: First, students lacked the experience in the constructing and manipulating of the conic sections. Second, students didn't link the process of constructing and the application of conic sections with the equation of tangent line of the conic sections. The conclusion of this study ls: First, students should have the experience to manipulate and construct the conic sections to understand mathematical formula instead of rote memorization. Second, as the process of mathematising about the conic sections, students should use the dynamic geometry and the process of constructing in learning conic sections. And the process of constructing should be linked with the equation of tangent line of the conic sections. Third, the mathematical misconception is not the conception to be corrected but the basic conception to be developed toward the precise one.
Recently, the demand for mobile communications and multimedia services has rapidly increased so that conventional cellular system cannot fulfill the requirement of users (capacity and QoS) any more. Therefore, the hierarchical cellular system has been suggested in order to guarantee the QoS and to admit large population of users. IMT-2000 adopts the hierarchical cellular structure, which requires a call control algorithm capable of manipulating and utilizing the complicated structure of hierarchical cellular structure with handiness and efficiency. In this thesis, as an improvement of conventional combined algorithm, a new call control algorithm considering the moving speed of terminal and bandwidth is suggested. This algorithm employs buffers and guard channels to reduce the failure rate. Also, this algorithm considers the moving speed of terminal and bandwidth to elevate the efficiency. Furthermore, calls are handled separately according to the moving speeds of terminal and bandwidths to improve the QoS and reduce the handover rate. As an evaluation of the suggested algorithm, a model hierarchical cellular system is constructed and simulations are conducted with various types of traffic. As the result of the simulations, such indices as block rate, drop rate, channel utilization, and the number of inter layer handovers are examined to demonstrate the excellency fo the suggested algorithm.
