Comparative Study on Head Nurses간 Role Perception to own Role and Staff Nurses간 Role Expectation to their Head Nurse between University Hospitals and General Hospitals (수간호사의 역할인식과 간호사의 수간호사에 대한 역할기대 연구(대학부속병원과 일반종합병원의 비교))

  • The organization of nursing department Significantly effects the hospital management. Especially, The head nurse is one of the most important position because head nurse is a first-line manager in the hospital level, a middle manager in nursing service organizations level and the top manager in each nursing unit level. This study was attempted to show the ideal model and nile by compare head nurses' role perception with staff nurses' role expectation according to two types of hospital. The survey was conducted among 94 head nurses and 233 staff nurses who are working at 5 different University Hospitals over 600 beds and 93 head nurses and 218 staff nurses Who are working at 12 different General Hospitals between 100∼300 beds in Seoul. The data was collected in a period from 8th September to 13th October in 1989 and the instrument used for this study was based on Han's one and reffered back to many literary sources and revised. The collected data was analysed by computer using S.P.S.S. program as a Mean, Percentage, Cronbach's alpha, Chi-Square, t-test and ANOVA. 1. The study was compared to the difference of the two subject group's general characteristics according to a type of hospital. As a relult, there were significant differences in age, educational background and career. 2. This Study was compared to the difference of the two subject group's role perception and role expection about each question according to a type of hospital. The result of this comparisons as follows : First, These were the most important issue between both groups : “Head nurse has to know about her staff's events and problems and then help them to solve that promptly.” Second, These were the least important issue between both groups : “Head nurse has an interview with patient's family and visitors”, “Head nurse is interested in her staff's privacy.” 3. This study was compared to the differences of each role areas according to a type of hospital. As a result, there were no significant differences both two subject groups except nursing manager role in staff nurses' group(t=-2.893, df=449.0, p=0.004). 4. This study was tested to the difference of the two subject groups according to general characteristics. As a result, All of that there were no significant differences.

Some Determinants of manager Style and household Work Organization on the Urban Homemakers in Korea (도시주부의 가사노동 조직화 및 관리자 유형 분석)

  • The main objective of this dissertation is to find out the measurement methods of household work organization and manger style and the quantitative analysis methods of influential factors on household work organization and manager style. Subjects were homemakers living in metropolitan , medium and small cities. Questionnaires were sent to subjects and usable responses were 1139 out of 1239 received questionnaires. Data collected through both preliminary and main survey were analyzed by using frequencies, percentage, analysis of variance, chi-square test and pearson's correlation analysis. Results are as follows; 1) The degree of household work organization was distributed on upper middle level exceeding middle score. Among subsystems of household work such as task assignment , test regularization, task arrangement and task standardization. subjects show the highest positive attitude in task standardization. 2) The characteristics of management in household work have task centered orientation. By the prority of task centered orientation, the order was integrated style. dedicated style. It means that the most ideal style is an integrated style which accounts for one-third of the total homemakers. 3) Household organization's subsystems and household work manager style are related with socio-demographic variables. Integrated style is significantly related with homemaker's employment and having helpers for household work. homemakers who are employed and have helpers for household work exhibit high scores in task assignment and task arrangement. Dedicated style is significantly related with homemaker's age and the number of children. Homemakers who are older and have many children exhibit high scores in task assignment. Related style is significantly related with marriage duration, education level and income level. Homemakers who have a long marriage duration exhibit high scores in task assignment and who have high education and income level exhibit high scores in task regularization. Seperates style is significantly related with homemaker's age m marriage duration an family life cycle. homemakers who ar older, have a long marriage duration and are of late stage in family life cycle exhibit seperated style and high scores in organization. To summarize research findings, household work manger and household work organization are related with family life experiences, and task assignment is an influential variable on manager style. in conclusion, it is evident that household work organization emphasizes efficiency as cognitive component and such organization. Finally it is necessary to broaden this research considered social psychological variables. And also it needs to build household manger style models appropriate fro the characteristics of each style.

The Characteristics of Corporate PR Practitioners Whose Opinions Were Quoted as News Sources and of The Related Articles in the Economic Section of Major Daily Newspapers (중앙 일간지 경제기사에 취재뭔으로 인용된 기업체 홍보실무자 및 해당 기사의 특성 연구)

  • The main purpose of this study was to examine the characteristics of corporate PR practitioners whose opinions were quoted as news sources and of the related articles in the economic section of the nation's three largest newspapers. The results revealed that the PR practitioners were mostly males with the job title of general manager or manager working for large electronics/IT or financing companies in Seoul and near metropolitan areas. In particular, such overwhelming features were more clearly salient in the articles related to conflicts. However, the phenomena seem to have been somewhat eased since 2002 when the newspapers came out with the specialized economic section. Analyzing the articles in terms of the channel of covering news, theme of news, and the existence of any conflict, we found statistically significant differences in the characteristics of PR practitioners. In addition, the comparison between each period before and after the emergence of the specialized economic section also showed statistically significant differences in the characteristics of the PR practitioners in many cases.

Study on activities of some occupational health nurses in Kyungnam area (경남지역 일부 산업간호사의 업무수행에 관한 연구)

  • Authors purposed to observe activities of occupational health nurses and it's related factors, and to suggest the way that induct better occupational health nurses' activities with questionaire to 87 occupational health nurses who individually work as health manager in the plant. The questionaire included type of plant and number of workers, general characteristics, work conditions, activities, etc. Major findings are as follows. 1. 82.8% of occupational health nurses were third decade. 93.1% graduated junior college or college. And 82.8% were not married. 2. General work conditions: 40.2% were belonged to safety-health section, 98.85% were mere clerks. 60.9% worked less than weekly 44 hours, and an annual salary of 50.6 % was between 10 million and 14 million won. 3. Work condition related to health manager work: there was separated health care room in 94.3%, working period as health manager(occupational health nurse) was less than 5 years in 70.1%, 49.4% had the out-of-health manager work. In 87.4%, occupational physician was appointed, only 6.9% of them were full time, 52.9% of them worked little in the plants. The problems related to workers' health were discussed with industrial nurses in 88.5%. 4. Attitude for their work: 88.5% were thought that their work is important for workers' health care, 57.5% satisfied to work as health manager. In 51.7%, motive to being industrial nurse were the appropriate aptitude. 5. Activities: General medical care in 100% were carried out, in 97.7% works related to general health examination, in 100% works related to special health examination were carried. But works related to use of protective apparatus were carried out in 20.8%. 6. Factors related to level of activities: In cases who solved the health related problems by themselves, the level of activites was significantly higher than in others. In cases there were full time occupational physician, the level of activities was significantly lower. 7. Occupational health nurse's needs: 100% wanted regular education, 89.7% wanted the qualifying examination. As the results, author suggests that the right of self-control is given to occupational health nurses and the work of occupational physician is clearly defined for the induction of the better activities of occupational health nurses.

A Study on the Selection of Manager and Performance Evaluation in Management Models for Profitable Structure of Eco Pastoral System in Alpine Grassland (방목생태축산의 흑자수익 구조를 위한 경영관리모델별 경영자 선발과 업적평가에 대한 연구)

  • As a means to activate eco pastoral system in alpine grassland, the government can consider public pastures, which are currently unused, to scale them up into public ranches. Depending on ownership and operation, four management models proposed as follows: 1) Government-Owned and Operated with Balanced Profit and Loss 2) Government-Owned and Operated with Revenue Generation 3) Government-Owned but Privately Operated by Outsourced to Professional Manager 4) Full Privatization (Ownership and Operation by Private Individuals). The study outlined above proposes four management models for the activation of eco pastoral system in alpine grassland. It also suggests methods for the selection and performance evaluation of manager to establish a profitable structure. Additionally, the research provides management methods for the conservation of grazing ecology in pastoral ecosystems. Particularly, the adaptation of tools commonly used in South Korean business sector for the selection and performance evaluation of manager within the system of the proposed management models. This aspect is deemed valuable as it aligns these tools with the specific characteristics of eco pastoral system in alpine grassland, contributing not only to the effective implementation of the models but also to the enhancement of the revenue structure.

Firms' Characteristics between Highly Successful and Less Successful Venture Business (우량.비우량 벤처비즈니스의 기업특성)

  • A venture business plays important roles in the economy of a developing nation. It makes highly value-added product, increases employment and improves the industry structure. The objective of this study is to derive the financial and non-financial characteristics from venture businesses, which determine a highly successful business group or a less successful business group. The firm characteristics are composed of 21 financial(liquidity, leverage, cash flow, activity, productivity, and etc) and 34 non-financial characteristics(manager, technology, marketability and credibility variables), which have been considered as the key characteristics for venture business by the existing literature. All financial ratios and non-financial characters play a role of making discriminations between a highly successful and a less successful group. Because there are not generally accepted definitions, classifying a highly successful and a less successful venture business is a very difficult problem. Operational definitions have many problems but we have no choice in current stage.

Performance of Occupational Health Services by Type of Service : Cost Benefit Analysis (사업장 보건관리 사업의 형태별 수행성과 분석 -비용편익 분석을 중심으로-)

  • Occupational health services in Korea have been operated as dual types : one is operated by occupational health care manager and the other is health care agency without their own personnel. The performance of occupational health service should be different due to the variety of characteristics of health care manager and workplace, qualification of health care manager. This study is to analyze performance of occupational health care services with a particular consideration of job performance shape and efficiency, based on comparing those two types of health care management to show on the basic data for the settlement of more qualitative health care management system at workplace. For this study, total 391 places in Seoul and Inchon city area ; 154 places (39.4%) managed by designated health care manager and 237 places (60.6%) by the agency with their commission are selected as research samples. Tools for data collection are questionnares that have been investigated during the period of 20 September 1993-20 December 1993. Those data are compared with percentiles, mean, standard deviation and B/C ratio using SPSS PC program. Conclusions observed from the tests and each comparison could be summerized as follows : 1. Occupational health care have been accomplished at workplaces with designated people than with agencies people, and coverage rate of the occupational health care services has differences, due to management types. The reason of these results is due to visit only one or two times monthly by the agencies, while their own health care manager obsess, at the workplaces all the times. 2. Most of the expense for environmental control of all health care services expenditures shows that there is almost no fundamental improvement because more expenses are needed for procuring personal protective equipment and measuring work environment instead of environmental improvement. 3. It is investigated how much the cost of occupational health care services needs per worker, and calculated how much the cost needs per service hour per worker. The results from this show that the cost of occupational health services at workplaces with their own managers used less than the cost of health care agencies, eventually the former gives better services with less cost than the latter. 4. Benefit/Cost ratio is also produced by total benefit/total cost. The result from the above way reads 4.57 as a whole, while their own manager having workplaces reads 4.82 and the agencies do l.56. Even if their own manager performing workplaces spent more cost, this system produces more benefit than the agencies management. 5. The B/C ratio for medical organization such as local clinic, health care center and pharmacy shows more than or equal to at the workplaces controlled by the agencies. It is inferred that benefit would be much less than the cost used, with so being inefficient. 6. It is assumed that the efficiency ratio of health education is equal to reduction rate of workers medical organization visit. Estimated reduction rate 5%, 10%, 15%, show that the efficiency ratio of health education have an effect on producing benefits. It is estimated that more benefit can be produced if more qualitative education will be provided for enhancing health care efficiency. 7. Results of this study cannot be generalized because there are large scale of deviation in case of workplaces with less than 300 full time workers, but B/C ratio reads 2.69 as a whole and 3.25 at workplaces with their own health care manager are higher than 1.63 at the workplaces manged by the agencies. Finally, all the benefit concerning health care services could not be quantified, measured and shown on the value of money. This is a reason that a considerable part of benefits are so underestimated. This is also thought that measurement tools should be developed for measuring benefits of health care services with a comprehensive quantification. in the future. It is also expected that efficiency of occupational health care services should be investigated using cost-effectiveness analysis.

The Characteristics of ESG and Effect on Corporate Value of Chinese Firms (중국 기업의 ESG의 특징과 기업가치에 대한 영향)

  • Purpose - Since the 2020s, the management philosophy of Chinese firms' ESG has been rapidly established under the leadership of the Chinese government. We empirically analyze the ESG characteristics and effects on corporate value of Chinese firms. Design/methodology/approach - Using OLS and random effect panel regression analysis, we identify ESG determinants. In analyzing the impact on corporate value, likewise a large number of literatures, we adopt a 2SLS methodology using instrumental variables in the reason of endogeneity between ESG and firm value. We analyze using the G2SLS methodology, which is improving the efficiency of the estimation coefficients along with 2SLS. Findings - We find that ESG ratings are high in state-owned and foreign capital invested companies, ESG ratings are low in companies with a high proportion of non-floating stocks which implies information asymmetry. However, there are no significance in the institutional investor's, the major 10 largest shareholders' and manager's ownership. Furthermore, we can support most of the hypotheses that ESG ratings will be high in companies with high management performance. ESG ratings are significantly higher in companies with high ROA, rich in cash asset, low debt ratio, and large size. we strongly support the hypothesis that the higher the ESG rating, the higher the firm value, and ESG has a moderating effect on state-owned companies, non-floating shares, the ownership of institutional investors, manager, and the 10 major shareholder. In particular, state-owned companies, the proportion of non-floating shares, and the ownership of the 10 major shareholders have a negative impact on firm value, however, ESG attenuates this negative effect. Research implications or Originality - This study looks forward to enhancing our understanding of ESG characteristics in East Asia.

  • To support Integrated Services in the Internet, the Internet Engineering Task Force(IETF) has developed new mechanisms. These new mechanisms include Resource Reservation Protocol(RSVP) and Integrated Services model. RSVP and Integrated Services are independent of the underlying link layer technologies and it is necessary to define the mapping of RSVP and Integrated Services specifications onto specific link layer technologies. IETF proposed a Subnet Bandwidth Manager(SBM) providing a method for mapping RSVP onto IEEE802 style networks. However, the SBM has several constraints and problems. For solving these constraints and problems, we design and implement a new Ethernet Bandwidth Manager(EBM). This paper discusses (1) new bandwidth management mechanism independent of RSVP, (2) simulation of Ethernet bandwidth to analyze the characteristics of Ethernet and accomplish Ethernet bandwidth management, (3) design and implemetation of EBM that allows Controlled-Load Service, and (4) results of our experiments on EBM.

A Study on the Job Analysis for Records Managers in the Local Governments (IPA를 활용한 지방자치단체 기록연구사의 직무분석에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the work of a local government records manager, provide job analysis using importance-performance analysis (IPA), and define the differences and characteristics in the perception of the work by employment and career type with the aim of providing basic data on effective business operation. To this end, this study conducted statistics analysis and an IPA matrix after analyzing the work of records managers in the local government and conducting surveys. Based on the analysis results, this study suggests installing a local archives management institution, securing the necessary budget for performing works, training staff, calling for assistant staff and collaborative work between other departments within the organization, and retraining of jobs differently based on the difference in perception of work by employment type and career as solutions.
