Design and Implementation of a Mapping Manager for a Logical Volume Manager (논리볼륨 관리자를 위한 매핑 관리자의 설계 및 구현)

  • A new architecture called the Storage Area Network(SAN) was developed in response to the requirements of high availability of data scalable growth, and system performance. In order to use SAN more efficiently, most SAN operating systems support storage virtualization concepts that allow users to view physical storage devices attached to SAN as a large volume virtually. A logical volume manager plays a key role in storage virtualization. It realizes the storage virtualization by mapping logical addresses to physical addresses. In this paper, we design and implement an efficient and flexible mapping method for logical volume manager. The nin method in this paper supports a snapshot that preserves a volume image at certain time and on-line reorganization to allow users to add or remove storage devices to SAN even while the system is running.

  • In this paper, we present the storage manager for digital broadcast environment. Data stream in real-time broadcast environment flows into set-top box continuously but, Given the file-system doesn't consider such characteristics. The storage manager provides reliability and flexibility for digital broadcast in set-top box.

  • The NAVER is based on a cluster of low-cost personal computers. The goal of NAVER is to provide flexible, extensible, scalable and re-configurable framework for the diverse virtual environments especially for Gamsung research experiments. Personal computers are divided into three servers are according to their specific functions: Render Server, Device Server and Control Server. While Device Server contains external modules requiring event-based communication for the integration, Control Server contains external modules requiring synchronous communication every frame. And, the Render Server consists of 5 managers: Scenario Manager, Event Manger, Command Manager, Interaction Manager and Sync Manager. In this paper, we discuss NAVER as effective distributed system and its application to Gamsung experiment.

Applying the Case Management in the Occupational Health Nursing (산업간호에서 Case Management의 활용)

  • This study was performed to review applying the case management to the occupational health nursing as a cost-effective way for injured workers. The case management for injured workers is a comprehensive management system, which is composed of planning and implementing in cooperation with employee, employee' family, medical service provider team, employer and case manager, to provide high quality health services to employee and their family. The case management process for injured workers is similar to the nursing process. It thus appears that the occupational health nurse is best personnel to perform the role of case manager for injured workers in workplace. As a case manager in workplace. the occupational health nurse would be expected to get both knowledge and experiences, to get trusted from the employee and employer, and to expand professional domain in changing health care environment.

The Structure and Characteristics of the Care Manager Systems in the Long-term Care Insurance of Japan (일본의 개호보험체제상의 개호지원전문원제도의 구조와 특징)

  • The purpose of this article is to analyze the structure and characteristics of the care manager systems of the long term care insurance in Japan's social welfare institution. In order to realize such purposes, this paper develops the discussion process as follows. Firstly, this paper examines the developmental processes and contents of the long term care insurance system and the care plan services which are the services to aid the utilization of long term care services. Secondly, this paper describes the care manager which conducts the role of care plan services intentively. Thirdly, this paper makes the research framework which is formulated as the legislative views about the care manager on the long term care insurance act, task systems, recruitment and retraining systems, and research data of care manager. Summarizing the contents of care manager's circumstances and characteristics about the long term care insurance, the results are explained as follows. that is to define care manager's status as the components of care plan center, to control indirectly the activities of care manager's care plan by operating care service center and care plan center in equal corporate, to set role and task ambiguously, to recognize care manager's role as the attributed role of care service center, to give licence and qualification in local government. Therefore, it's difficult to realize care plan depending on speciality and neutrality for the service user. The essential parts for the reform of care manager systems may be to separate care service center and care plan center and to redefine the task and role of care manager, the role and task of which should be put on care plan services.

  • The revised "Software Industry Promotion Law" has been effective from 2013. This law is to be basis of the domestic public information sector and increases the opportunities for small and medium-sized firms in participating the public IT projects. The shortcomings of this law may be the increase of the risk and the decrease of quality of projects. These suggest that the competencies of project manager (PM) s are critical. Also, in general, an SI (System Integration) project is a one that provides a customer with a customer-tailored system for system integration. Particularly, in an SI project involved in a public institution or a large corporation, the ripple effect of success or failure of a project is becoming greater as the system requires higher cost and more time due to high complexity and large scale. One of the solutions to address these problems is to investigate the competencies of a PM. Thus, in this paper, we derived the major competencies using the RGT (Repertory Grid Technique) and categorized the resultant constructs using the content analysis. In addition, we analyzed the level of importance of competencies by applying the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process). The conclusion was that Problem-solving Skill and Leadership were the most important competencies of a project manager.

  • The development of IT technology makes the functions and services of robots be integrated, and thus the robots become more intelligent and useful. As sophisticated usage of robots has evolved, direct communication by human language is necessary to increase the efficiency of their usage. In this paper, we propose a conversational interface platform for integrated service robots using MS Robotics Studio. The proposed platform consists of three types of components: a conversation manager to control the flows of the integrated service robots, a user interface to interact with users, and multiple service robots to perform actions or services. For a test-bed of the proposed platform, we build a schedule manager system and confirm the usability through SUS subject test by comparing the schedule manager system with MS Outlook.

A Study on Core Competencies of ITS Project Managers Using QFD and AHP (QFD와 AHP를 이용한 ITS 프로젝트관리자 핵심역량 연구)

  • ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) has been more popular but ITS project managements remain complex because of diverse stakeholders and multidisciplinary processes of ITS. The multidisciplinary process enforces specialized competencies on ITS project managers comparing to other system integration project managers. In this paper, we derived core competencies of ITS projects from previous researches, built the hierarchy of the competencies, and employed AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) surveying ITS project managers and auditors with the hierarchy. Finally, we analyzed the difference of evaluation model on ITS project manager between project managers and auditors using Mann-Whitney U test. Additionally we suggest a method of building MECE (Mutually Exclusive and Collectively Exhaustive) structure for AHP using the HoQ (House of Quality). We expect our model to give some inspirations for raising capable ITS project managers and selecting a proper project manager for an ITS project.

  • In this paper, we describe the problems which can happen during multi-tasking process in the Windows operating system (OS) environment. To cope with the problems, multiple-windows manager program is proposed in this paper. If we use the proposed multiple-windows manager program with three virtual screen, we can obtain the effect like using four Windows OS and thus we can improve the tardy speed and the high complexity for multi-tasking process.
