The Relationship between Communication Competency, Interpersonal Relationship Ability and Self-Management Competency of Nursing College Students in Graduation Year (졸업학년 간호대학생의 의사소통능력, 대인관계능력과 자기관리역량 간의 관계)

  • This study is a descriptive study to investigate the relationship between communication competency, interpersonal relationship ability and self-management competency of nursing college students in graduation year. Data collection was conducted from November 1, 2016, to December 9, 2016, in 135 students of 4th grade nursing students in M and K areas. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 21.0 program. The result of this study showed that average degree of communication competency was $3.55{\pm}.34$(5 point-scale), interpersonal relationship ability was $3.79{\pm}.50$(5 point-scale), self-management competency was $3.67{\pm}.47$(5 point-scale). The communication competency of nursing college students in graduation year showed a significant positive correlation with interpersonal relationship ability(r=.65, p<.001) and self-management competency(r=.70, p<.001). In addition, interpersonal relationship ability also showed a significant positive correlation(r=.69, p<.001) with self-management competency. Therefore, this study proposes an intervention program to help nursing graduates maintain efficient interpersonal relationships through smooth communication with patients, guardians and staff at the job site after graduation by building their own management competency in their academic life.

  • Information Systems have played a strategic role in achieving business goal and become an essential tool in today's business environment. Thus, the number of developing SI project has increased and it becomes complex and sophisticated. It is known that project manager's leadership could lead the project success. In this study, project manager's competencies are divided into two types, information competency(information-oriented mind, information utilization competency, information development competency) and managerial competency(project management, human relationship, project expertise. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of information competency and managerial competency on the SI project success and to find out the moderating effect of project size. The result of this study reveals that information utilization competency, project management competency and human relationship have a strong relationship with both customers and suppliers side of projet success. Moreover, the relationship between managers' competencies and project success is shown to be different by project size. The result of this study implies that each managers' competencies has to be developed and applied according to project's complexity and size.

Study of Development for Competency Standards in the Field of Records Management (기록관리분야 직무능력표준 개발 방안 연구)

  • The quality of human resources is critical element which promote efficiency in the community management. Each country all of the world is developing national competency standards to exploit them on human resources management. In response to this trend, the field of records management need to develop competency standards and to build human resources. Although each agency is placing qualified record manager and operating archives organization. growth and development is needed on this field. Under these circumstances, examining requirement for records management competency and using them is a task of great significance on the side of strengthening specialist and normalizing archives operation. This study suggests procedures and methodology competency standards enable to be exploited in entire fields of records management including private sectors as well as public sectors. Furthermore, as for procedures of suggesting measures for developments, cases of procedures of stand designs are shown, effectively verifying for feasibility, validity, and usability of development of competency standards in the field of records management. In this process, models for competency standard and elements based on competency units in the field of records management are suggested. This study will be ultimately expected to contribute to an adoption of manpower development system and a systematic method via procedures of approving expertise of records management being recently highlighted as an issue from revision process of records management act.

A Study on the Effect of Project Managers' Leadership on Participants' Individual Competency and Project Performance (프로젝트 관리자의 리더십이 참여자 개인 역량과 프로젝트 성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study is intended to look into the effects of project managers' leadership on participants' individual competency and project performance. To achieve this, a survey was empirically carried out to a sample of 276 researchers who are working on a project with a research and development group in private R&D centers. The results of this study were summarized as follows. First, the leadership competency of project managers had a significant positive effect on the individual competency of project participants. Second, the leadership competency of project managers had a significant positive effect on the project management performance. Third, the leadership competency of project managers had no significant effect on the project completion performance. Fourth, the individual competency of project participants had a significant positive effect on the project management performance. Fifth, the individual competency of project participants had no significant effect on the project completion performance. Sixth, the project management performance had a significant positive effect on the project completion performance. Seventh, the project completion performance was indirectly mediated in the effect of project managers' leadership competency on project completion performance. Eighth, the project management performance was indirectly mediated in the effect of project participants' individual competency on project completion performance. Based on the findings stated above, a combination of project management performance can generate better results in the effect of project participants' individual competency on project completion performance.

Development of Teaching Methods for Competency Development in Business Class (경영수업을 위한 역량육성형 교수법 개발)

  • It is the approach of development of teaching methods for competency development in business class. This study distinguishes areas that can be commonly applied to many business subjects. And we derive core competencies from the basic skills of NCS. The results of this study are as follows. First, we have established an opportunity to distinguish the subject field of business administration(personnel/organization/strategy, production/operation management, marketing, financial/finance/insurance, accounting, MIS). Second, we have proposed guidelines for the setting of the each subject goals and the setting of the professor's competency. Third, we have summarized teaching method which are studied as valid in business class(lecture method, problem based learning method, action learning teaching method, and management simulation teaching method) and we suggested how to apply teaching methods to the each subject.

  • For the continuous growth of firms, the contributions of effective risk management system are required. This research analyzes the impact on the firm's performance related to risk management structure which includes the risk management system, risk management activity and risk management competency. In this research, the structural equation model considering the variable which contains enterprise risk management system, risk management activity and risk management competency was suggested. Also risk management organization and management procedures are identified as in enterprise risk management system. The implementation activity and control activity were the factors related in risk management activity. And risk management competency can be described as the response level of managing risk in outside and inside the firms' environment. Finally this model was analysed empirically for 112 firms in Korea using SPSS 18.0 and Amos 16.0. As the results, the suggested hypothesis were adopted. So as to manage risk performance for their firms, the development of systematic Risk Management Framework is important for their risk management activity and risk management competency. Ultimately, we can conclude that the focusing to the systematic risk management approach could be effective on the firm's risk management performance.

Fashion Designer Competency Modeling (패션디자이너 역량모델링 구축)

  • This study started with the need for transition to competency-based education as well as the witness of fast changes in fashion industry's job environment. The goals of this study were (1) to explore fashion designers' competencies that are necessary for a successful careers in global fashion industry, and (2) to establish fashion designer competency model. In-depth individual interviews were conducted with 15 participants who have charged for design department and moreover have shown high performance in national, licence or designer brands in Korea fashion industry. Grounded theory was adopted to analyze data. As a result of analysis, the 4 core competencies emerged: problem-solving, research, inter-personal, and self-development. Each core competency has sub-competencies. Creativity, commerciality, control, decision making were sub-competencies for the problem-solving competency. Information management, innovation understanding & application, trend analysis & forecasting were sub-competencies for the research competency. Consumer, inside company, and outside company relationships were sub-competencies for the inter-personal competency. Self-awareness, self-management, expertise were sub-competencies for the self-development competency. In order to acquire these competencies, knowledge (academic, practical, multi-discipline), skills (sense, analysis, synthesis, communication), and attitude (interest, enjoyment, perseverance, personality) were essential. Based on these findings, implications for university fashion design education and further research areas were suggested.

  • Knowledge management is an innovation paradigm to improve organizations competitiveness by strengthening organization's knowledge competency. Most organizations which have implemented knowledge management have experienced various difficulties in improving organization's knowledge competency, and so they have strived to find solutions. For the problems, it may be considered as an effective approach to link between knowledge management and human resource development. This study introduces two real cases adopting such approach focusing on competency development and career development which are primary areas of human resource development, and presents a model structuring core mechanisms which can be found in the cases. The model focuses on creating synergy effects between knowledge management and workforces' competency development. The cases and the model are expected to be helpful in enhancing organizational competency and the performance of knowledge management.

The Curriculum Effectiveness Analysis for Improvement of Self-management Leadership Competency (자기관리 리더십 역량 향상을 위한 교과과정 효과성 분석)

  • aim of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of improved self - management leadership competence through 'self - management leadership'. This study aims to contribute to the development of self - management competency curriculum of universities. The subjects of this study were students who took core competency classes at D university in Seoul. The study group consisted of 221 subjects in the experimental group,who took the contents and 204 participants in the control group,who did not take the contents. The experimental group showed higher improvement than the control group. The experimental group showed greater improvement. In addition, the goal management competence was the highest in terms of the improved competence recognized by students who took courses in self-management and leadership. An analysis of the perceptions about self-management leadership competence enhancement showed that among self-management, goal management, relationship formation, leadership, collaboration, an goal management competence was improved the most. In the self - management domain, the highest improvement was observed in the areas of personality, self - reflection, self - confidence. In the goal management area, the areas of time management, goal setting, and vision were the most improved. Communication, listening, interpersonal relationship, and coaching questions showed the most perceived improvement among the relationship formation. In terms of leadership competency, problem solving and influence were the most improved areas, For collaboration competency, it was found that competency was the most improved at team play.

  • The purpose of this study is to consider how the competency of management consultants and completion index of consulting. influences the management performance. For this research. we chose 500 small & medium enterprises located all over the country that have implemented management consulting in recent 3 years. And we have done survey for the employees. and gathered and analyzed 294 samples. The result of research is as follows. First, Job competency of management consultants have reliable influence on the business performance and organization effectiveness. Second, Job competency and Common competency of management consultants have reliable influences on the completion index of consulting. Third, Job competency of management consultants and completion index of consulting have reliable influences on management performance. Fourth, Completion index of consulting have mediated job competency of consultants and management performance. Fifth, the impact was estimated that the more manager supporting is, the more job competency of consultant have an effect on organization effectiveness. These findings suggest that through the efficient way to perform successful consulting and identify an association between factors, it can contribute to small & medium enterprise management consulting activated.
