The development of an automatic delivery sorter requires enormous cost and time, and actually it is a key business which gains control of the future of postal service for national economy. In this paper, we select executive alternatives considering the restrictive conditions both in physically and technically such as installation location, OCR location, and the types of VCS. Then, we evaluated selected alternatives through the analysis of a cost and a performance. And we also performed economy analysis reflecting on the qualitative factors.

SME is a major company to keep employment in Korea and highly depends on large company as vendor. R&D is critical to keep its position under the global competition. Government makes a policy to support SME R&D investement. We reviewed SMBA(Small and Medium Business Administration) policy for SME R&D and try to find alternatives. One of the alternatives is to increase a budget for large and SME co-development program.

The purpose of this paper is to develop an efficient production strategy with changing factors to influence the productivity. The factors would be the number of Multi-Function worker, the method of job dispatching, and lot size. A simulation model has been developed for this study. We used AutoMod simulation and the process activity was animated to follow the flow of process easily. The alternatives have been tested through the simulation model, and the various alternatives is proposed for the efficient production strategy. We hope that the system is applied to similar types of small and medium-sized enterprises to develop an efficient production strategy and to achieve the satisfactory result.

The purpose of this study is to propose a facility layout design algorithm based on artificial intelligence concept, and then to develop a computer program which is more practical than any other conventional facility layout design systems. The algorithm is composed of five step layout procedures; knowledge and data input, knowledge interpretation, priority determination, inference of layout design, and evaluation, In the step of priority determination, the algorithm is divided into single row and multi row layout problem. In the step of inference of layout design, alternatives are generated by constraints-directed reasoning and depth first search method based on artificial intelligence concept. Alternatives are evaluated by the moving cost and relationship value by interactive man-machine interface in the step of evaluation. As a case study, analytical considerations over conventional programs such as CRAFT and CORELAP was investigated and compared with algorithm propsed in this study. The proposed algorithm in this study will give useful practical tool for layout planner. The computer progran was written in C language for IBM PC-AT.

The budget management in Korea is one-year budget system which is just following int he steps of last years budget plan. This system towards traditional item-by-item and restriction-centered budget system. The budget distribution without establishing and considering rational policy goals and directions have brought inefficient resource allocations. In order to promote the implementation of transportation planning, there are some alternatives like introduction of top-down planning system preparing for the provincial self-government era. In this study, the most efficient alternatives to promote the existing management system is referring by foreign countries transportation planning examples(BVWP system in Germany). First of all, mid-long term transportation and budget planning should be established and then make decisions of resource availability and allocation. In order to provide ration budget planning, introduction of Transportation Planning Programming Budget System(TPBS) has been judged as one of the method of unifying the sysematic transportation improvement planning and budgeting. All transporation planning and related activites can not be expressed in quantity and due to the limitation of excessive cost of analyzing transportation planning and ranking priority, here after, the continuous study to minimize the evaluation cost and introduction of TPBS should be done.

In this paper we propose a nonparametric test for testing the equality of several regression lines against ordered alternatives, when the independent variables are positive and all regression lines have a common intercept. The proposed test is based on a Jonckheere-type statistic applied to residuals. Under some conditions our proposed test statistic is asymptotically distribution-free. The small-sample powers of our test are compared with other tests by a Monte Carlo study. The simulation results show that the proposed test has significantly higher empirical powers than the other tests considered in this paper.

The purpose of this study is to provide the information for problem solving and development, and to suggest future directions for educational work of HFSC. For this purpose, the annual reports of 40 centers were analyzed and a staff survey was carried out. On the basis of these reports and the survey, the benefits of the educational programs were examined and alternatives for better educational work are suggested.

Our country has been encountered with severe economic depression since IMF loan(1997). Korean economic system should be reformed according to the globalization and the world industrial trends based on adavanced technologies and skills. Todays the venture business should be considered to be the alternative of recovering Korean economy and increasing highly estimated values. Generally speaking, the venture business is defined as a new business with high risk-high return with new technical entrepreneurship. This treatise suggests the activating alternatives of the venture business in Korea. These alternatives are suggested as follows. First, several measures to incruit excellent technicians are suggested. These measures includes incruitment of parttime technicians, application of cooperative program of education training unemployees, the stock option system, a stock-sharing plan for the employees, etc. Second, in the financial aspect, activation of the foundation investment company, activation of the COSDAQ market, strengthening of technology security are suggested. Third, in the technical development aspect, amplification of inauguration assistant center, construction of technology accumulative network, etc. These measures will contribute to the development of Korean economy and the welfare of Korean people.

A distribution-free rank test for parallelism of regression lines against ordered alternatives is considered. The proposed test statistic is based on the Kepner-Robinson's transformation. The null distribution of the proposed statistic is the same as that of the Wilcoxon signed rank statistic. But, the proposed procedure can be applied only to four or fewer regression lines. The results of a small-sample Monte Carlo study show that the proposed test is comparable with the parametric test in heavy tailed distributions.
