The aim of this study is to clarify aesthetic values and sociocultural meanings that reappears in contemporary fashion. In order to analyze aesthetic values and symbolic meanings of body decoration, I examined the concepts and expression methods of the body decoration. Also, analyzed external characteristics of expression and its internal meanings that applied in modern fashion. The expressions of body decoration represented in contemporary fashion are classified into direct and indirect methods. The direct method is expressed by tattoos, piercing, henna, make-up and body painting. And, indirect method is expressed by see-through look, body-conscious look and accessories that were utilized its patterns and the material adaptation methods. Such expression of body decoration in the modern fashion was represented into grotesque images and erotic images. The characteristics of grotesque images are abnormal state, hateful animal image and distorted or transformed body and the internal meanings are the pursuit of primitive, exoticism, the pursuit of playfulness, and resistance. The characteristics of erotic images are an exposure of body, see through, body-conscious and androgynous look and the internal meanings are the self-intoxication, naturalism and sexual pleasure.

Formula for the area of a trapezoid is an educational material that can handle algebraic and geometric perspectives simultaneously. In this note, we will make up the expression equivalent algebraically to the formula for the area of a trapezoid, and deal with the conversion of a geometric point of view, in algebraic terms of translating and interpreting the expression geometrically. As a result, the geometric conversion model, the first algebraic model, the second algebraic model are obtained. Therefore, this problem is a good material to understand the advantages and disadvantages of the algebraic and geometric perspectives and to improve the mathematical insight through complementary activity. In addition, these activities can be used as material for enrichment and gifted education, because it helps cultivate a rich perspective on diverse and creative thinking and mathematical concepts.

This study explores the limitation in making a causal model through an existing case and proposes an alternative plan to improve a theoretical system of causation modeling. To make a dynamic and actual model, several principles are needed such as reality based analysis of system structures and dynamics, consistent expression of causations, conversion of numerical formulas to causal relations, classification and arrangement of variables by size of concept, etc. However, it is hard to find cases to apply these considerations from existing models in System Dynamics. Therefore, this study verifies errors of derived models from literatures and proposes principles and guides that should be considered to make a sound dynamic model on a causal map. It contributes to making an opportunity for exciting public opinion to improve theory about causal maps, yet it has limitation that the study does not advance forward to the experimental step. For future study, it plans to make up by classifying and leveling causal variables, developing a dynamic BSC model.

Melanosomes are specific melanin-containing intracellular organelles of epidermal melanocytes. In epidermal melanocytes, there are three kinds of key player proteins. Rab27a, melanophilin or Slac2-a and Myosin 5a form a tripartite complex connects the melanosome. Mature melanosomes make movements through the tripartite protein complex along actin filaments.In this study, we found that the haplamine (6-Methoxyflindersine) induced melanosome aggregation around the nucleus in epidermal melanocyte. In an attempt to elucidate the inhibitory effect of haplamine on melanosome transport, effect of haplamineon the expression level of Rab27a, melanophilin and Myosin 5a was measured. The results indicated that haplamine up to 5��M effectively suppressed mRNA and protein expression level of melanophilin.To determine the upstream regulator of melanophilin regulated by haplamine, we checked the level of MITF, c-JUN and USF1. Those are possible transcription factor of melanophilin. Among them,treatment of USF1 siRNA decreased mRNA and protein expression level of USF1 as well as melanophilin. Also, treatment of haplamine decreased mRNA and protein expression level of melanophilin as well as USF1 in a dose-dependent manner. Consequently, we found the inhibitory effect of haplamine on melanosome transport in melan-a melanocyte. Treatment of haplamine reduced melanophilin expression level which is a key protein of melanosome transport. We identified that USF1 could be a major transcription factor of melanophilin regulated by haplamine.

This study's purpose is how express gender image according to sex in editorial fashion photography. This study's objectives are the women's magazine Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and man's magazine GQ, Esquire published 2000-2005 within the country. The photography was classified with established a standard based on the precede studies. The photo is classified Gender image according to dress and its ornaments, model character and atmosphere by Sex Expression of femininity woman has exposure of body parts and emphasizing thin eyebrows and red lips, soft and mild image, modest and static pose. Man expressed femininity used ladylike color and pattern, erotic exposure of body and long hair style. Commonly emphasizing red lips, natural background of flower plant, S-line. For expression of masculinity man and woman are used masculinity item, short hair-style and thick eyebrows. And also emphasize square like chin and shoulder. Specially, woman used direct silhouette to conceal soft body curved line. The expressions of androgynous woman and man are colorful dress and make-up. Woman emphasized male face to show and man expressed soft image through hull of abundant material of fur. All two sex selected method that conceal body curved line and face to express sexless. Hiding characteristics of body and face make indistinct of sex. The gender is affected by atmosphere such as model and illumination background as much as clothes because of the editorial fashion photography.

In terms of expression, beauty illustration has become more diverse and innovative. Because of continued unique creative activities, more novelty has been pursued. In this study, beauty illustration in new artistic and decorative images was used to investigate the basic concepts of art activities, illustration and beauty illustration and make up for beauty illustration which adheres to traditional and classical expressions. In this study, the following results were obtained: First, in terms of expression of beauty illustration, the work with art expressions are still poor compared to other fields such as fashion illustration. Therefore, it is necessary to attempt beauty illustration of a new image which expresses artistic emotions. Second, by using an artistic technique called 'paper sculpture', a semi-solid shape has been completed, and a decorative beauty illustration was created. People get new inspiration through beautiful and innocent art pieces, which in turn motivate to create new expression. New art activities which take a human body as an art support beauty activities through picture and more sensitive inspiration. It was attempted to express other emotion and beauty by observing a single piece of work. A new possibility in beauty illustration which is differentiated from other art activities is proposed and its domain is developed.

The skin is an important barrier that protects the body from harmful environments such as UV rays. When the skin is repeatedly stimulated, such as UV rays, ROS and pro-inflammatory cytokines are overproduced. As a result, the proteins and nucleic acids that make up the skin are damaged, and aging occurs. Esculetin is known to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and UV-induced MMP-1 inhibitory effects. However, the inhibitory effect of MMP-1 on TNF-α-induced fibroblasts is not known. Therefore, in this study, the MMP-1 inhibitory effect of esculetin was confirmed in TNF-α-induced fibroblasts. As a result of confirming the cytotoxicity of esculetin in Hs68 cells by MTT assay, there was no significant toxicity up to 200 µM. As a result of real-time PCR and ELISA, it was confirmed that esculetin inhibited the expression of MMP-1. Esculetin did not inhibit MAPK (ERK, JNK, p38) phosphorylation, but inhibited phosphorylation of the mTOR-p70S6k signaling pathway. In addition, it was confirmed that the phosphorylation of the transcription factor NF-κB was inhibited. These results suggest that esculetin has potential as an anti-aging material.

The purpose of the study is to analyze children's proportional reasoning and problem solving in proportional problems with/without iconic representations. Proportional problems include 3 tasks such as (a) without any picture, (b) with simple picture, and (c) with/without iconic representation. As a result, children didn't show any significant differences in two tasks such as (a) and (b). However, children showed better proportional reasoning with iconic representation. In addition, 'build-up expression' strategy was used mostly in solving problems and 'additive strategy' was shown as an error which students didn't make an appropriate proportional relation expression and they made a wrong additive strategy.

There are several way to classify the furniture. The furniture can be classified into use, style, and function, but if the furniture is classified into the way of production, it can be the industrial furniture and the studio furniture. Especially, technology and function of the furniture are important elements in industrial furniture. However, it could be considered artists' character and concept as more important elements in the studio furniture. The studio furniture had come out one of the historical movement in American furniture field after the World War II. This case to apply found objects began to increase after the 1970s. Using objects In furniture design field had built up sprightly after end of 1950s. This expression could be the statement of new expression that essential properties of matter in objects is removed. I try to suggest original and interesting furniture design to apply found objects in this thesis. Especially, I use the Korean traditional objects for the furniture and try to make their essential function to be changed. Also, I focus on furniture design to have formative element in their shapes.

The subjects of the research is the architecture expressed traditionality from the time of the Open Port on, including North Korea region. The scope is divided into three periods; the first is from the Open Port to the Rehabilitation (光復),1945, the second is from then to 1960, and the last is from 1960 to the present. The expression of Koreanity(韓國性) should be concerned with the states at the time. In the beginning of the first period the alienate culture and the new modern facilities, like electricity, telecommunication system, train service, etc., rushes to Korea and the traditional architecture accepted the most of the new-comings; therefore, the original form was transformed. That seems to be the beginning of the discourse on traditionality in Korea architecture. The expression was showed up in four parts: ${\bullet}$ Korea traditional architecture accepting the foreign culture and the modern facilities ${\bullet}$ the compromise between foreign and traditional architectural form ${\bullet}$ the compromise between the Modem and traditional architecture ${\bullet}$ the Imperial Crown Style(帝冠樣式) which is the eclectic architecture with transformed roof. The figurative expression in the present architecture was showed up in roughly two parts: ${\bullet}$ the traditional form directly depicted wholly / partially ${\bullet}$ the abstract traditional form wholly / partially Moreover the results on the research traditional architecture have been collected, the principles have been drawn out. Especially the first beauty is not on form or figure of a building but on the composition of architectures and the harmony of the natural circumstances and architectures. So many contemporary architects make efforts to apply the principles to the composition and formation of current architecture.
