  • Contents are the critical factors for website success. It is important to give the right information to each customer. For this, not only systematic classification but also management of contents is necessary. With regard In the former, some studies are found, but not for the latter. This paper proposes some methods of efficient contents management, which include customized service, push service of technology information, and real-time offering service. For each of them, the process of management is defined focusing on the B2B under make-to-order environment. The methodology is applied to the case of a marine engine manufacturing company.

  • Classification and Coding(C&C) systems as a core of design information management have been accomplished by many studies in terms of design and manufacturing attribute based on Group Technology. Those are very difficult to apply in make-to-order(MTO) manufacturing because the environment of MTO has various characteristics of product, many licensors, engineering change, insufficiency of integrated management system for codes and so on. This paper presents a suitable C&C system to MTO manufacturing which consider management level and drawing. The steps of developing the C&C system are as follows: 1) analysis of existing coding system and drawing type; 2) design of C&C system; 3) practice of designed coding system to a field.

  • We propose the Distance Communication System that is not only Making Distance Learning Contents but also controlling intellectual moving object. In order to make Distance Learning Contents (Video Contents), we must follow the motion of lecturer. In the former Systems and a person operates Video-Camera because it's not enough to follow the motion, In this research and we make the systems that can match the motion of lecturer naturally. The systems use Intelligent Space software and so the systems recognize lecturer's motion automatically and order Pan/Tilt-Type Camera to follow the motion. And we made possible to operate an intellectual moving object with application of this system.

An efficient space-leaping method using double leaping (이중 도약을 이용한 효율적인 공간 도약법)

  • Space leaping is one of accelerated image-order volume rendering. This method accelerates rendering speed by finding and leaping the empty space. Although its rendering speed is very fast, it takes long pre-processing time to make the data structure to leap the space. In this paper we propose the look-ahead sampling algorithm to double the leaping distance comparing with previous approaches. This algorithm reduces the preprocessing time to make the distance map without significant changes of rendering time. Also, it accelerates the rendering time.

  • In the crane control system, it is reguired that the travelling time of the crane must be reduced as much as possible and the swing must be stoped at the end point. In paper, we present a hybrid control method which include the optimal regulator and velocity pattern controller in order to make high performance of the anti-sway. To implement the control algorithm, the dynamic equation is linearlized at an equilibrium point, so that the liner time invariant state equation can be obtained. In order to experiment the crane control, we consider 1 over 10 of the gantry crane which is used in a port. As a result, the hybrid control method improve efficient anti-sway control more than conventional velocity pattern control. It is expected that the proposed system will make an important contribution to the industrial fields.

  • Arc-spot welding is generally used in joining of precise parts such as case and core in electronic compressor. It is important to control joining deformation in electronic compressor because clearance control in micrometer order is needed for excellent airtightness and anti-nose. The countermeasures far this deformation in field have mainly been dependent on the rule of try and error by operator's experience because of productivities. For control this deformation problem without influence on productivities, development of exact simulation model should be needed. In this study, to solve this deformation problem in arc-spot welded structure with case and core, we intend to make a simulation model that is able to predict deformation in precise order by tuning and feedback between sensing data and simulation results. This paper include development of heat input model for arc-spot welding, temperature monitoring and make a heat transfer model using sensing data in product.

  • Since Component-Based Development, or CBD, struck Korea SI industry a heavy blow several years ago, many major SI companies in Korea have implemented the CBD practices in real world, leveraging supports from the government and academic world. The result, however, falls short of their expectations. The major reason is that they have mainly focused on CBD processes and technical issues around it, although it is necessary as well to deal with other non-technical issues in order to make business values from CBD. This paper begins with reminding us what CBD tries to achieve indeed in terms of software development processes, then recognizes what we have achieved so far introducing a recent CBD project case, BOK-WIRE system. Thereafter, it reveals the chances that SI companies must take in order to make their CBD efforts succeed, pointing out what are the roadblocks really.

  • This paper focuses on production planning and scheduling problems in an assembly system operating on a make-to-order basis. Due dates are considered as constraints in the problems, that is, tardiness is not allowed. Since the planning problem is a higher-level decision making than the scheduling problem, the scheduling problem is solved using a production plan obtained by solving the planning problem. We suggest heuristic procedures in which aggregated information is used when the production planning problem is solved while more detailed information is used when the scheduling problem is solved. Since a feasible schedule may not be obtained from a production plan, an iterative approach is employed in the two procedures to obtain a solution that is feasible for both the production planning and scheduling problems. Computational tests on randomly generated test problems are done to show the performance of these algorithms, and results are reported.

  • The purpose of this thesis is to develop the schemes of supporting estimate for marine engines’ factories which are in a general make-to-order style. The marine engines’ factories currently use the method which depends on the past data and experiences handled by the responsible person, which causes inefficiency and inaccuracy in dealing with a huge amount of data. We apply association rule to solving the problems mentioned above. Critical data for analysis is filtered among materials that have been using actual records of performance so far. Secondly, relation with each part of marine engines through filtered data so that the company can estimate cost promptly and precisely if customers with similar components as requested. By proposed method of study estimate support efficient and supported exactly.
