This study was conducted from march 20 through April 20, 1992, jn order to figure out the factors affecting behavior of the people on environmental health. 1, 261 people were selected by sampling from Seoul, Pusan, Taegu, Taejon and Kwangju. Questionnaire forms were prepared and the persons selected were-interviewed by trained interviewers. The data collected were analyzed in order to determine factors affecting kowledge, attitude and practice on environmental health in major cities in Korea. The major results are as follows: 1. The people who got high KAP score were found not to practice what they know. The people who got lower scores were found to use their knowledge in practical life. 2. Correlation between knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) on environmental health was statistically significant (p < 0.001). 3. The levels of KAP on environmental health affected by variables of gender and marital status were statistically significant (p < 0.01). 4. Variables of education, occupation, religion and economic status affected the levels of KAP significantly (p < 0.01). 5. The levels of KAP on environmental health by variables of health education on environmental health were statistically significant (p < 0.001). 6. The levels of KAP of the people on environmental health by demographic variables showed a reverse relation statistically (p < 0.001). 7. The levels of KAP of the people on environmental health had correlation with education level and the KAP level had correlation with knowledge (p < 0.001). 8. The KAP levels of the people on environmental health had correlation with environmental health education (p < 0.001). 9. The total variables affecting KAP of the people on environmental health had 14% variance and environmental health education was the highest($\beta$=0.23827), education level was the next($\beta$=0.12442), and economic status was ($\beta$=-0.06970), age ($\beta$=-0.06710) and print media ($\beta$=0.06539). 10. The variables most affecting KAP of the people on environmental health were environmental health education(r=0.2980) and education(r=0.2419) and the next were age, marital status, religion, electronic media, print media, place of birth and gender. 11. The most important variable affecting KAP level of the people on environmental health was education level.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the reason of interruption and the knowledge of breastfeeding. The samples of 117 mothers who have the babies between age from 1 month to 12 months were selected from one university hospital and one public health care center in J City. The data were collected with the questionnaire during the period from the January. 5. 2002 through January. 30. 2002. Analysis was done by using frequency. percentage. t-test. ANOVA. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. 1. The comparison of the method of feeding by general characteristics. income state(p= .019), rearing supporters(p=.026) and infant age(p=.03) have shown significant difference as the variables affecting breastfeeding practice rate. Breastfeeding rate were 24.8%. mixed- feeding type, 14.5%. milkfeeding type. 60.7%. 2. The major reason which breastfeeding be done was 'for health of baby'. In the period of breastfeeding, a large number of mothers answered' up to. 6 months'. The major reason of breasttfeeding interruption was 'insufficient quantity of breastmilk'. 3. The mean of knowledge on breastfeeding by feeding patterns were the highest in the breastfeeding group(F= 10.228, p= .000). 4. In a grade of each item on knowledge of breastfeeding, over 80% of mothers wrongly answered in two items; components comparison between breastmilk and cow's milk and when the mother fell sick. whether she have to be feed breastmilk. or not. In the conclusion. this study revealed that knowledge of breastfeeding promoted practice of breastfeeding. However we suggest that systemic and supportive breastfeeding program for promoting the knowledge and the practice rate of breastfeeding have to be provided by nurses.
This paper will discuss about how we can foster educational support mechanisms to facilitate health promotion programs at the local level. Health promotion in Korea is in the early developmental stage; it has only been since the Health Promotion Act was legislated in 1995, the health promotion programs have been planned and implemented. In the context of the recent decentralization process, local health departments have a major responsibility for developing and implementing health promotion programs at the local level. The short history of health promotion in Korea has meant that local public health departments have limited experience and organizational capacity for health promotion planning & practice. The results of one survey for investigating the progress of health promotion at the local level are instructive. The survey demonstrated that the public health workers recognized that the lack of personnels, insufficient budget, the lack of policy & the organizational support, the lack of skill & knowledge to be effective health promotors, the lack of guidance for health promotion practice were major barriers to implementing health promotion programs at the local level. The object of this paper is to suggest some ways of overcoming barriers to implementing health promotion programs at the local level This paper emphasizes on the importance of educational supports as well as environmental supports - legislative, policy, organizational, economical - in building the organizational capacity and infrastructure of local health department for health promotion. It suggests some ways of providing educational supports to the public health workers at the local level. and supports the positions that educational opportunities for training in health promotion can be better provided to the public health workers at the provincial level rather than at the national level. It argues that the educational & training programs should be developed and based on the educational need assessment; that the application of the main educational principles & theoretical models for health promotion be used to develop educational programs for the public health workers; and that professional health organizations should make plans to provide more educational programs at their annual conferences or at other convenient times. These kinds of educational supports facilitate the ability of public health workers to improve their capacity for health promotion practice at the local level and help to alleviate some of the pressure on state resources.
The purpose of this study is to find factors associated with the preventive health behavior in the daily lives of housewives of a region in Korea, with a hope that knowledge on the health behavior obtained from this study can be of use in promoting practice of good health behavior of the people. The data this study was collected from 672 persons, randomly selected among residents in Wonseong-Dong Chu-nean City and BuanGun, Junbug. Chisquare test, Pearson's C. C., and Stepwise multiple regression are major statistical methods used in this study. Major findings are as fellows: 1) Health behavior of the respondents was found to be related to their characteistics such as residence. age, educational attainments, and standard of living. However, no statistical significant relation has been found between respondent's health behavior and their characteistics such as size of household living together with children or not, yes or no elderly living together. and yes or no Sick family menber. 2) The preventive health behavior of respondents were found to be significantly related to their interests in their own health status. But the association between the practice of certain health behavior and their recognition of their own health status was statistically insignificant. 3) Practice rates of certain preventive health behavior were found different depending their general knowledge on health(P<0.05). 4) Respondents had significantly different preventive health behavior depending on their attitude on health(P<0.001). 5) Degree of contact with mass-media had shown to be significantly associated with preventive health behavior(P<0.001). 6) In the stepwise regression analysis on preventive health behavior. independant variables representing attitude and knowledge on health and contact of mass-media all together explained 20.4 % of the variance of dependent variable.

Ethical perception may be thought of as 'professional skills'. Despite this, however, the dental hygiene curriculums tend to disregard ethics education. This paper describes ethical perception in dental hygiene students. Questionnaire surveys were conducted for 374 in dental hygiene students. For statistical analyses of collected data, the multiple linear regression were adopted. Demand as necessity of dental ethics education, clinical practice exercise, practice of work ethics education were found to have significant major effects on basic ethics perception. The major variables which related to the licensure and health care law and teamwork were to knowledge of revised ethics code of dental hygienist and to demand as necessity of dental ethics education. The major variables influencing the professional protocol were to knowledge of revised ethics code of dental hygienist, to demand as necessity of dental ethics education, role model for learning ethical principles. Revised ethics code of dental hygienist was the most important factor affecting professional protocol. The major variables influencing the decision-making were to demand as necessity of dental ethics education, to knowledge of revised ethics code of dental hygienist, clinical practice exercise, role model for learning ethical principles (church). About 88.4% of the students unawared to knowledge of revised ethics code of dental hygienist and perception of professional protocol of the students awared to knowledge of revised ethics code of dental hygienist was $3.44{\pm}0.23$ (p=0.000).

The purpose of this study was to prepare some more up-dated and advanced curriculum in Landscape Architecture in Junior College education to bring up a leading professional who can meet the changing social needs. To achieve this goal, the data about the actual employment status of graduates, current relevant systems and legistations, the questionnaires of Landscape companies, graduates and undergraduates, and the current relevant curriculum of domain 6 junior colleges and Japanese relevant curriculum was gathered and analyzed The results are as follows ; 1. Currently the majority of the graduates are employed in Construction field, but the employment trend of graduates shows diversification and subdividing as following 5 fields, that is Construction, Design, Maintenance, Administration and Indoor Landscaping. 2. It is essential to bring up a Landscape Technician who has a Landscape Certificate of qualifications(esp. 2nd class). 3. Lately, the actual Practice came to be one item of the qualifying examination, so the subjects of Landscape Design, Landscape Construction and Landscape Estimation Should be emphasized, Accordingly, current curriculum should be revised. 4. Currant curriculum model(1979) made by the Ministry of Education doesn't play a real and adequate role and should be up-dated in view of the current curriculum of domain 6 junior colleges has no regular standards. In preparation for new standardized curriculum model, following criterior could be suggested, that is, ratio of the Major Required Subjects vs. The Major Optional Subjects would be 50 : 50, and the Major Optional Subject would be 48 credits which is 150% of the Required Credits(32 credits) 5. The subjects such as Basic Agriculture, Afforestation, Nature Conservation, Sketch, Civil Engineering, Landscape Seminar and Modelling Practice would be deleted in the curriculum model established in 1983. 6. The subjects such as Perspective Practice, Indoor Landscaping, Landscape Legislation and Landscape Design( III ) could be newly opened to meet the social needs, to prepare for the qualifying examination and to serve well in the employment fields. 7. The subjects of Surveying ( I ) & ( II ) would be unified into one Subject as Surveying, and some in view of the average situation of 6 junior colleges. 8. It is urgent to open some subject related to computer. At first, An Introduction to Computer could be recommended in the cultural studies course and Landscape Computer Technique as the Major Optional Subjects.
This study attempts to develop a theory on the evolving process of wealthy major donors' sharing lives in Korea through a grounded theory approach. To conduct this study, the researchers have in-depth interviews with 11 exemplary wealthy major donors who have more than one million US dollars in his or her own asset and donate more than ten thousand US dollars annually. In data analysis, this study identifies 161 concepts on the evolving process of wealthy major donors' sharing lives; and the concepts are categorized with 33 sub-categories and 14 categories. In the paradigm model on the evolving process of wealthy major donors' sharing lives, it is identified that the central phenomenon, 'practicing sharing lives as noblesse oblige', is related with the causal conditions such as 'learning through memories and observation', 'realizing my duties', and 'emphasizing'; and the central phenomenon is related with the contingent conditions such as 'being sensitive to external evaluation', 'having limited information on giving', 'distrusting donation related environments'. The action/interactional sequences such as 'utilizing relationships' and 'strengthening active participation' are accomplished by moderating conditions such as 'having internal and external supports' and 'guiding by firm conviction'. It reveals that as a result, wealthy major donors enjoy the feeling of becoming a ideal and true wealthy person, establish sharing lives as firm and major parts of overall lives, and experience strong desires for better future and society. In this study, 'generous sharing that shares personal heritages and social benefits' is analyzed as a core category; it shows that sharing of wealthy major donors is related to the characteristics of generosity practice based on moral self-benefiting rather than complete altruistic characteristics or self-sacrificial characteristics. The process analysis reveals that it has the following stages: first, initial giving by exposure to causes or requests; second, routine practice of giving; third, evolution of practice of giving with gradual expansion in quantities and qualities; and fourth, living with giving. In the process, the following four types are identified: devoted wealthy donors for sharing, wealthy donors practicing sharing in daily life, wealthy donors practicing sharing with learning on external stimulus, and wealthy donors practicing sharing on empathy. Finally, this study discusses both meanings of identifying and developing a theory on the evolving process of wealthy major donors' sharing lives and implications of the research results in cultivating and developing potential wealthy major donors in Korea.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the degree of rude experienced by nursing students during clinical practice and to investigate the impact of incivility and stress coping strategies on nursing professional value formation. Research instrument were measured using incivility, stress coping strategies, and nursing professional value. Data analysis was performed using SPSS WIN 20.0. The results of the study were as follows: First, among general characteristics, there were significant differences in the degree of incivility in cases of gender, grade, satisfaction with clinical practice, satisfaction with clinical practice environment, and experience of incivility among clinical practice. In addition, the difference of nursing professional value showed significant difference according to major satisfaction, clinical practice satisfaction, and clinical practice environment satisfaction. Second, incivility is correlated with problem-solving(r=.36), social support(r=.26), avoidance(r=.25), and nursing professional value(r=-. 16). The results of this study suggest that satisfactory clinical practice environment and clinical practice experience are important for establishing nursing professional value of nursing students.
Due to differences in singing styles and voice production between classical and popular music singers, their knowledge and practice regarding vocal hygiene may differ. This study compared the knowledge and practice of vocal hygiene among 121 university undergraduate students (58 classical and 63 popular music vocal majors). Additionally, the correlation between the level of knowledge and practice of vocal hygiene and the subjective voice evaluation was examined. The results revealed that both knowledge and practice of vocal hygiene were significantly higher in classical than popular music vocal majors, and that vocal hygiene practice was significantly higher than knowledge in the entire group. In addition, there was a weak positive correlation between knowledge and practice of vocal hygiene; and a weak negative correlation between vocal hygiene practice and subjective voice evaluation. This study suggests that popular music vocal majors have relatively lower levels of knowledge and practice in vocal hygiene than classical music vocal majors. It also highlights the need to provide tailored vocal hygiene education programs for both classical and popular music vocal majors, as they show low levels of knowledge and practice in certain aspects of vocal hygiene.
