Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the curriculum, educational facilities and employment guidance of the departments dental hygiene in junior colleges in different regions and the satisfaction level of students with their major in an effort to provide some information on the improvement of educational environments and satisfaction level with the major. Methods : The subjects in this study were 315 dental hygiene students in several junior colleges located in Seoul, Gangwon Province and South Jeolla Province. A survey was conducted during a 15-day period from April 15 to March 1, 2010. Results : As for educational environments and satisfaction level with the major, they gave 3.18, 2.95 and 3.11 respectively to satisfaction level with curriculum, facilities/employment guidance and the major. In terms of satisfaction with educational environments by academic year, the juniors and seniors expressed much satisfaction with the qualifications of professors, the preparation of labs and practice devices, the utilization of labs and practice devices and a supply of employment information. By region, the students from the metropolitan area were satisfied a lot with curriculum, the qualifications of professors, practice-centered curriculum, the preparation of labs and practice devices, the utilization of labs and practice devices, the system of employment guidance and a supply of employment information. By credit, the students tho got A expressed lots of satisfaction with the quality of instruction. Concerning satisfaction level with their major by academic year, the juniors and seniors were highly satisfied with relationship with dental hygiene professors and social status of dental hygienists. By school location, the students from the metropolitan area expressed a lot of satisfaction with the content of major courses and social status of dental hygienists. Conclusions : In order to boost the satisfaction level of students in non-metropolitan areas, colleges should try to improve educational environments, and full-fledged assistance should be provided to them.

Marine pollution prevention manager system has been operated for the purpose of preventing marine pollution from ships and marine facilities in Korea. As a new "marine environment management act" replacing an old "marine pollution prevention law" had entered into force from January 20. 2008, the education system for marine pollution prevention manager is scheduled to change in some ways. Major changes in education/training institutions, education/training courses, trainees, marine pollution prevention manager's works and business, marine facilities and educational subjects are summarized, comparing between new "marine environment management act" and old "marine pollution prevention act".

Since the establishment of the national medical licensing examination board in 1992, the medical licensing examination system has changed enormously and this has had a number of impacts on examination services. All those reforms were aimed at improving the relevance and reliability of the test. Several attempts of the testing system have appeared in the new examination service, and which have also brought about the changes in the medical school curriculum such as introducing integrated courses instead of traditional subjects, using test scores as a reference to the post-graduation selection test. Some examples of changes in the examination system are as follows: 1) choosing three integrated test subjects and outlines of their reference content instead of 15 academic subjects, 2) adjusting the ratio of multiple choice question items to focus more on the problem solving level, 3) introduction of 'one-best answer' single set and 'extended matching type items, 4) item construction based on real clinical cases and real clinical materials. Recently, a clinical skill test system has been introduced to measure examinees' basic clinical skills competencies. Despite continuing efforts, the examination system still has many issues remaining to be solved. These problems include the differential weighting of test items, appropriate threshold for passing, and practicality of pre-testing to stabilize the passing rate and avoid the hazards of newness and undesirably difficult test items.

The 2015 revised curriculum is an integrated curriculum that reflects national and societal needs to foster creative convergent talent in the school curriculum. Along with these changes, the Ministry of Education introduced a system to change the major from 2017 to the fourth year of university. Therefore, each university should prepare to reflect the curriculum and institutional change before welcoming students who have completed the 2015 revised curriculum. The university needs to study the countermeasures for implementing the 2015 revised curriculum and expanding the period of major change when preparing the curriculum and contents of the calculus courses that freshmen take. Handong University has been studying the operation methods of new students who want to decide their major at the first grade, such as operating calculus courses at various levels and allocating appropriate proportions of calculus for preliminary examinations. This case is similar to the basic purpose of the revised curriculum in 2015, so it can suggest implications for the operation of the university calculus class after the curriculum revision. In this paper, we have analyzed the results of the recent freshman mathematics test for the recent 5 years and the students' calculus grades and compared them with the contents of the calculus curriculum operated by Handong University and the 2015 revised higher mathematics curriculum. As a result, we proposed five classes of calculus suitable for college major and it was found that the calculus curriculum should include the missing quadratic method in the 2015 revised curriculum.

This study was conducted to investigate the fitness of major courses according to the development and application of new curricula based on the NCS (National Competency Standards) of health-related departments at junior colleges. To accomplish this, 300 students of the health-related departments at junior colleges were surveyed from March 11 to March 30, 2016. The overall findings showed that their awareness of NCS, intent of integration and understanding of curriculum contents had a significant effect on the fitness for linkage and combination with existing education. Competency unit elements based on the newly developed NCS (job, work, qualification and training standardization of major courses) were linked with existing education. And students - who accept this - are rapidly assimilated into the new curriculum contents. In particular, they have a high understanding of the integrated development of standardized curricula between three major departments, unlike existing textbooks. In conclusion, the high perception and understanding of knowledge integration education are expected to have a positive effect on healthcare education, establishing an early health-related NCS system in the future, and improving site fitness for development of the contents of NCS.

The 4th industrial revolution refers to the transition to a knowledge society in which the production speed of knowledge is fast and the proportion of the knowledge industry is greatly increased. The reorganization of the industrial structure and the change of occupations and jobs due to new technologies are bringing about changes in education, and the development of digital technology has made education that is borderless, individual and dynamic, becoming the new standard of education. With these changes, interest in nano-degrees on new technologies or micro-degrees focused on core courses rather than regular course degrees is increasing. As a representative example, Udacity in the United States has opened and operated online nanodegree courses related to jobs, and collaborates with major companies to develop and educate core training courses necessary for companies, thereby efficiently supporting companies in securing talent. With the revitalization of online vocational and job training, an environment has been prepared in which individuals can set goals for vocational competency development and continue their portfolio-based sustainable learning. However, for effective vocational education, automated and personalized educational content design should be preceded. Library & Information Science in Korea has developed its curriculum corresponding to the rapidly changing social needs. Upon the arrival of information society, a series of structural adjustments were implemented including renaming the department, underpinning the sector of Information Science and Information Service. and opening new courses such as Archives and Records Management. Also, the overall course design has been fully modified in line with the newly adopted mechanism of major selection in the undergraduate academic program. This paper aims to explore the influence of the structural shifts in our society on the sector development of the Library & Information Science by an extensive comparative analysis on the variation of academic curricula before and after the new major selection system and the emergence of information society.

The purpose of this study is to suggest problems and directions for improvement, focusing on the master's course at the Graduate School of Education, among the career guidance counselor training programs. First, in the case of career education counseling major education graduate school fostering system, ① 3 universities in Seoul, 2 in Gyeonggi-do, 1 in Incheon, 1 in Gangwon, 1 in Daegu, 1 in Jeonbuk, 3 in Chungnam, and 1 in Chungbuk, a total of 13 Opened in 20 universities. ② Most schools operate in a dual system. ③ As a major in career counseling, there is a maximum of 26 courses and a minimum of 10 courses for the master's course in the graduate school of education. Second, what are the problems and improvement directions of the career counseling graduate school training system? ① It is necessary to prepare a standardized curriculum. ② It is necessary to operate education to strengthen connection with the local community. ③ There is a need to resolve the level gap between the 13 graduate schools of education and the lack of faculty members at some universities. ④ Career education policy department of the Ministry of Education needs to periodically evaluate 13 education graduate schools. ⑤ The role of the career policy department of the Ministry of Education is to establish a mid- too long-term plan at the national level considering the demand and supply of career guidance counselors nationwide. ⑥ It is desirable to dualize the way to obtain a career guidance counselor license as it is now.

The purpose of this study is to discuss how to introduce micro degree for innovation in convergence education in our university. To this end, the background of the introduction of micro and nano degrees and domestic and foreign applications were reviewed. The reason why the rate of students completing the multi-degree was low was that the credits required for graduation were higher than that of other domestic universities, and the difficulty of the courses offered in the convergence major did not match the students. In order to reduce the burden of students learning convergence subjects while acquiring new knowledge and skills, the introduction of a micro degree is considered to be an alternative to the current convergence education.
