  • Recently, the number of high-rise buildings has been on the rise, which has meant that maintenance cost has increased by two and three times, along with the increase in the construction cost. It is suggested that the use of an auto-cleaning robot could increase the productivity and safety of cleaning work, which is mostly done outside of a building. In particular, the guide rail on a high-rise building could be useful in this capacity, as it has the advantage of not being significantly influenced by factors of the external environment, including wind pressure. For this reason, this research is preliminary research into a cleaning automation for a high-rise building, and aims to draw up a scenario for the vertically moving robot.

  • Service life of bridges should be evaluated by physical life considering damage/deterioration. But it is difficult to identify optimal maintenance scenario due to insufficient research related to that. To identify optimal maintenance scenario, it is needed to develope life cycle profile model of condition state variation by deterioration factor. The LCP model has been developed in consideration of regression analysis and survey in this study. It is expected that the LCP model could help to achieve HBMS system improvement.

  • The maintenance function of Solar power plant is configured with Sensor devices, Gateway, and Maintenance Function Platform. In this paper, we designed gateway resource tree and service scenario to fit the Maintenance Function and demonstrated appropriate operation of the maintenance service through intelligent functional modeling.

  • This paper briefly reviews ITU-T recommendations associated with multi protocol label switch (MPLS) and Ethernet operation, administration, and maintenance (OAM). The broadband convergence network (BcN) architecture with a centralized network controller is introduced. An aggregation structure employing Ethernet, MPLS, and time division multiplexing (TDM) signal is presented for the BcN. A physical link failure scenario is examined to investigate how the maintenance signal is propagated between different layers.

An Operational Availability Analysis in Supply Chain Using Simulation (다단계 공급체인에서의 장비운용가용도 시뮬레이션 분석)

  • This study shows the operational availability(Ao) analysis of the supply chain with maintenance functions using the system dynamics simulation. The simulation uses 60 equipments which are serial systems composed by 4 major components. And every entities are connected each other by causal loops. So whole simulation executed like one organic system. Specially we consider 2 constraints, one is the number of spare parts and the other is maintenance capacity level. 2 constraints have 11 levels each so the simulation has 121(11*11) scenarios which scenario has 30 different random number seed. The simulation executed total 3,630(11*11*30) times. We analysis average Ao of total equipments by 121 scenarios and additionally the regression of the average Ao and 2 constraints. As the result, we can get the more accurate values by the system dynamics simulation than the regression to analysis complex system like the supply chain with maintenance functions.

  • This study is to develop database by an experimental method for the development of condition based maintenance for auxiliary equipment in marine engine systems. Existing ships have been performing regular maintenance, so the actual measurement data development is very incomplete. Therefore, it is best to develop a database on land tests. In this paper, a database developed by an experimental method is presented. First, failure case analysis and reliability analysis were performed to select a failure mode. For the failure simulation test, a test bed for land testing was developed. The failure simulation test was performed based on the failure simulation scenario in which the failure simulation test plan was defined. A 1.5TB failure simulation database has been developed, and it is expected to serve as a basis for ship failure diagnosis and prediction algorithm model development.

  • This paper is a maintenance system for bridge represented by Class 3 and other than by law bridges. Domestic bridge are divided into Class 1 & 2 bridges and Class 3 & other than by law bridges. The number of type 3 and other than by law bridges is very large. But, it is considered to be of relatively low importance compared to Class 1 & 2 Bridge Bridge. So, in this paper is propose a maintenance system and procedure for small & medium-sized bridges. However, because the number of small & medium-sized bridges is large, it is not possible to evaluate the performance of all bridges like Class 1 & 2 bridge. The reason is the lack of manpower and budget. Based on the Risk Matrix method, a maintenance procedure was created to select the bridge for which performance evaluation should be performed first. For this purpose, basic information of the bridge is used. And, the developed maintenance procedures were applied to the bridges in actual use.

  • S-STEP is a small SAR satellite mission that monitors time-limited emergency targets and military anomalies in areas of interest, achieving the average revisit in less than 30 minutes by deploying a constellation of 32 satellites in low orbit at an altitude of 510 km. The mission operation mode of S-STEP is divided into normal mode, observation mode, communication mode, and orbit maintenance mode. Further,, the attitude control mode is subdivides into initial detumbling, sun pointing, target pointing, ground station pointing, and thrust direction maintenance. Based on the preliminary mission operational scenario and the satellite's characteristics, this study analyzed the attitude control performance during initial detumbling and observation modes. It verifies that each mode's attitude control accuracy requirements within the time allotted by the scenario of the S-STEP achieved.

  • Life cycle cost has been one of the key criteria in design or purchasing of systems, particularly in the flying weapon system. Unexpected cost increase or system breakdown during the system life can be reduced by controlling maintenance cost A system should be designed for maintainability in early stage of product life cycle. The design should be insensitive to its environmental, organizational, and human factors in the stage of customer's utilization. This paper presents LCC as a controllable variable and also suggests a new control model for LCC analysis. The estimation of maintenance cost based upon maintenance scenario, design of maintainability followed by minimizing maintainability loss function in the beginning stage of design, and increase of useful life of systems are among the factors to control LCC.
