An annular linear induction electromagnetic pump (ALIP) which has a developed pressure of 0.76 bar and a flow rate of 100 L/min is designed to analysis end effect which is main problem to use ALIP in thermohydraulic system of the prototype generation-IV sodium-cooled fast reactor (PGSFR). Because there is no moving part which is directly in contact with the liquid, such as the impeller of a mechanical pump, an ALIP is one of the best options for transporting sodium, considering the high temperature and reactivity of liquid sodium. For the analysis of an ALIP, some of the most important characteristics are the electromagnetic properties such as the magnetic field, current density, and the Lorentz force. These electromagnetic properties not only affect the performance of an ALIP, but they additionally influence the end effect. The end effect is caused by distortion to the electromagnetic field at both ends of an ALIP, influencing both the flow stability and developed pressure. The electromagnetic field distribution in an ALIP is analyzed in this study by solving Maxwell's equations and using numerical analysis.

To meet the demand of higher handling capacity, a mixed-flow submersible deep well pump was designed and tested. The main hydraulic components are made of plastics, which is free of erosion, light-weight, and environment-friendly. To simplify plastic molding process, and to improve productivity, an axial-radial guide vane was proposed. To clarify its effect on the performance, a radial guide vane and a space guide vane are developed as well. By comparison, the efficiency of the pump equipped with the axial-radial guide vane is higher than the radial guide vane and is lower than the space guide vane, and its high efficiency range is wide. The static pressure recovery of the axial guide vane is a bit lower than the space guide vane, but it is much larger than the radial guide vane. Taking the cost and molding complexity into consideration, the axial-radial guide vane is much economic, promoting its popularity for the moderate and high specific speed submersible deep well pumps.
In general, to send out natural gas via a pipeline network across the nation in LNG terminal, high-pressure cryogenic pump supply highly compressed LNG to high-pressure vaporization facilities. The Number of cryogenic pumps determined the send-out amount in LNG receiving terminal. So it is main equipment at LNG production process and should be maintained on best conditions. In this paper, to find out the cause of high vibration at cryogenic pumps-motor system in LNG terminal, vibration spectrum analysis and motor current signature analysis have been performed together. Through the analysis, motor rotor bar problems are estimated by the vibration analysis and confirmed by the current analysis. So, it is demonstrated through the case study in this paper, how performing vibration analysis and current signature analysis together can reliable diagnosis rotor bar problems in pump-motor system.
An internal lobe pump is suitable for oil hydraulics of machine tools, automotive engines, compressors, constructions and other various applications. In particular, the pump is an essential machine element of an automotive engine to feed lubricant oil. The subject of this paper is the theoretical analysis of internal lobe pump whose the main components are the rotors: usually the outer one is characterized by lobe with multiple profile(ellipse1, involute and ellipse2) shapes, while the inner rotor profile is determined as conjugate to the other. Also, the design of outer rotor depends on new applications with removing carryover phenomenon. The system generates new lobe profile and calculates automatically the flow rate and flow rate irregularity according to the lobe profile generated. In order to obtain rotor shapes in performance and to find optimize the design parameters, a Taguchi method is proposed in this paper. Results obtained from the analysis enable the designer and manufacturer of oil pump to be more efficient in this field.
The main objective of this work is to investigate the characteristics of a heat pump system for fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV). The present heat pump system adopts an electrically driven compressor running with R134a and uses the heat from the fuel cell stack as the heat source for the exterior heat exchanger. The experimental work has been done with various operating conditions such as different compressor speeds, fuel cell stack coolant temperatures and flow rates. The heating capacity was measured to be from 4 to 10 kW at $-20^{\circ}C$ ambient temperature, and the outlet temperature of interior heat exchanger was up to $70^{\circ}C$. After 30 seconds from start-up, the system reached a steady state and the heating capacity of 6.8 kW was acquired, and after 90 seconds, the air outlet temperature of interior heat exchanger became $35^{\circ}C$.
The main objective of the present study is to investigate the performance characteristics of a ground source heat pump (GSHP) system with a 130 m vertical 60.5 mm nominal diameter U-bend ground heat exchanger. In order to evaluate the performance analysis, the GSHP system connected to a test room with 90 $m^2$ floor area in the Korea Institute of Construction Technology ($37^{\circ}39'$ N, $126^{\circ}48'$ E) was designed and constructed. This GSHP system mainly consisted of ground heat exchanger, indoor heat pump and measuring devices. The cooling and heating loads of the test room were 5.5 and 7.2 kW at design conditions, respectively. The experimental results were obtained from July to January in cooling and heating season of $2003{\sim}2004$. The cooling and heating performance coefficients of the system were determined from the experimental results. The average cooling and heating COPs for the system were obtained to be 4.82 and 3.02, respectively. The temperature variations in ground and the ground heat exchanger surface at different depths were also measured.
This study was performed to examine use of the pump-and-treat method for remediation of TCE, CF and CT in groundwater contaminated by DNAPL. The Woosan industrial complex is located in Wonju, about 120 km east of Seoul, Korea. Two pumping wells (KDPW7 and KDPW8) and five monitoring wells (KDMW7, KDMW8, KDMW9, KDMW10, and SKW2) were installed for the test. An asphalt laboratory is a main source of the extensive subsurface contamination at this site. To evaluate change in the concentrations of TCE, CF, and CT in groundwater in the study area, three rounds of pump-and-treat pilot tests were performed (6 July to 6 August, 22 August to 6 September, and 19 September to 2 December in 2011). The groundwater levels and the concentrations of TCE, CF, and CT exhibited negative correlations in the wet season but positive correlations in the dry season, which suggests that the TCE concentrations were mainly controlled by dilution through rainfall during the wet season and by residual TCE, CF, and CT in the unsaturated zone during the dry season. These possibilities should be considered in the full-scale remediation plan.
Variable displacement swash plate piston pump analysis requires electric, hydraulics and dynamics which are similar to the one's incorporated in the complex fluid power and mechanical systems. The main variable capacity for the swash plate piston pumps, hydraulics or simple kinematic (swash plate degree, piston displacement) models are analyzed using AMESim, a multi-physics analysis program. AMESim is a multi-physics hydraulic analysis program that is considered good for the environment but not appropriate for environmental analysis for multibody dynamics. In this study, the analytical model of the swash plate type hydraulic piston pump variable capacity is modeled by combining the hydraulic part and the dynamic part through co-simulation of multibody dynamics program (Virtual.lab Motion) and multi-physics analysis (AMESim). This paper describes the whole modeling analysis method on the mechanical analysis of the multi-body dynamics program and how the hydraulic analysis in multi-physics analysis program works. This paper also presents a methodology for analyzing complex fluid power systems.

The instantaneous acceleration affects the performance of the water-jet pump obviously. Here, based on the user-defined function, the method to simulate the inner flow in water-jet pumps under acceleration conditions was established. The effects of two different acceleration modes (linear acceleration and exponential acceleration) and three kinds of different acceleration time (0.5s, 1s and 2s) on the performance of the water-jet pump were analyzed. The results show that the thrust and the pressure pulsation under exponential acceleration are lower than that under linear acceleration at the same time; the vapor volume fraction in the impeller under linear acceleration is 27.3% higher than that under exponential acceleration. As the acceleration time increases, the thrust gradually increases and the pressure pulsation amplitude at the impeller inlet and outlet gradually decreases, while the law of pressure pulsation is the opposite at the diffuser outlet. The main frequency of pressure pulsation at the impeller outlet is different under different acceleration time. The research results can provide some reference for the optimal design of water-jet pumps.
