This study was carried out a trend analysis for analyzing change of meteorological elements in the main producing areas of Chinese cabbage, radish, pepper, garlic and onion. As meteorological elements, we selected air temperature (maximum, minimum), precipitation and duration of sunshine. We used monthly data of meteorological elements obtained from the main producing areas of vegetables for 30 years from 1981 to 2010. Mann-Kendall test used for significance test of trend and Sen's estimator of slope for computing the variance of meteorological elements. The study results showed that air temperature tended to increase, but duration of sunshine tended to decrease in most regions.

The objective of this study is to provide development strategies in the production and distribution system of highland Chinese cabbage by evaluating and analyzing problems of the current system, focusing on several main stages between production and distribution system of highland Chinese cabbage. Through interview of groups such as farmers, distributers in the main producing areas, commission merchants of the wholesale market and large-scale distributors the relavant information was collected. Also, data such as production situations in main producing areas, distribution conditions in the wholesale market was analyzed. The functions of highland Chinese cabbage were classified and the current state of highland Chinese cabbage distribution system was investigated to provide an overall insight into the highland Chinese cabbage distribution system. Also the factors which will affect a price of wholesale market and consumer of highland Chinese cabbage were examined. Finally problems and improvements in the production and distribution system through analysis of the distribution system of highland Chinese cabbage were provided. the main contents of this study are as follows. The first is to keep stability of production in main producing areas by applying a differentiated production method, for example, rainshelter cultivation method. The second is to establish the distribution system which the relevant information is opened transparently. The third is that the consistent cold transportation system from main producing areas to consumers must be built.
The aim of the study was to analyze the spatial characteristics of the main producing areas of nontimber forest products. We analyzed the spatial aggregations of the main producing area and their changes using the Moran's I index. We found that 45% of nontimber forest products were significanty spatially clustered. Additionally, in five major products, we observed that the main producing area has expanded and the degree of aggregation has also strengthened over the last ten years. The results of this study can be effectively used for forest policies, such as determining the location and size of the distribution centers of specific forest products.

This study was conducted to derive implications for the dissemination and expansion of subtropical crops in farms. To this end, the cultivation trends and main producing areas of promising subtropical crops in Korea were analyzed. Analysis results found that the cultivation area of crops, excluding mango, was stagnating or decreasing. The main producing areas of domestic subtropical crops are located on Jeju Island (mango, dragon fruit), in Gyeongsangnam-do (papaya), and in Jeollanam-do (turmeric). Guava and Yeoju could not define the main producing area. For all crops, the percentage of cultivated area in the top 10 regions was high, but only half of the regions maintained the ranking. These results imply that the introduction and abandonment of subtropical crops are frequent. The dissemination and expansion of subtropical crops are justifiable in terms of responding to climate change in the future and creating new income for farms. Therefore, government support policies and agricultural promotion agencies need to be established.
The Agricultural Experimental Organizations[勸業模範場] in Suwon is Korea's first agricultural promotion facility. It was founded in 1906. This study aim to find the area and spatial composition of 勸業模範場. The results are as follows. When it founded, the Agricultural Experimental Organizations was operated centering on the main hall, and then since the pillage of national sovereignty in 1910, it was moved to the jurisdiction of the Japanese Government General of Korea and operated with the addition of the agricultural/forestry school. In 1913, the reductive egg production/distribution was moved from Yongsan branch to Suwon, and reductive egg producing site and female sericulture training office were installed in Suwon. It is supposed that at the time, the Agricultural Experimental Organizations was divided into the main hall-centered area, the Suwon agricultural/forestry school at the south side, and the reductive egg producing site and female sericulture training office even more down south. Since 1920, the agricultural/forestry school came out of the jurisdiction of the Agricultural Experimental Organizations, such that the Agricultural Experimental Organizations was left with only the main hall-centered area and the area with the reductive egg producing site and female sericulture training office. In this study, these two areas are referred to as 'the main hall area' and 'the sericulture area.

The purpose of this study is to identify the role of each party in relation to the contract farming of cabbage which is taking place under the contract between the local trader of agricultural produce that supplies raw cabbage to company "D," a manufacturer of kimchi, and the cabbage farm where the cabbage is grown, and to describe the changes brought by the contract farming to the agriculture of the contract area. As a result of the study, it was discovered that, while the farming of cabbage in the contract area used to be led by farmers, it is now increasingly being controlled by the local traders of agricultural produce. First, as the key player in the decision-making related to the cabbage farming in the main cabbage producing areas, local traders of agricultural produce are replacing the role of farmers by supervising the entire production process and controlling the overall cabbage farming in the contract area. Second, in the main cabbage producing areas, local traders of agricultural produce are becoming a key farming entity by carrying out functions that are comparable to those of farmers and playing a major role in the second half of the agricultural work at the farms in the contract area. This can be considered as the result of the balance between the demands of the local traders of agricultural produce who need to secure contract volume and manage the quality of their produce and the demands of the farmers in key cabbage producing areas who are facing difficulties due to the increase in the number of elderly farmers and a shortage of manpower.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry announced promoting the project, 'Regional Agricultural Clusters,' in Feb. 2004 through 「The Comprehensive Plan for the Agriculture and Agricultural Communities」 and initiated a model project from 2005. The purpose of 'Regional Agricultural Clusters' is to develop regional agriculture by concentrating the resources and capacities of the region and maximizing the effect of integrating related projects. 31 towns in Geonggi and 2 towns (Ganghwa and Ongjin) in Incheon were chosen for the study based on the crop areas of 36 agricultural products from the Agricultural Census in 2000. For those 33 towns, factors such as the top 20 agricultural products, main producing districts and surveys on each towns were considered and we have concluded that these items are good subjects for 'Regional Agricultural Clusters' : We have decided on 18 items for what we call, 'Mini-Clusters,' a cluster in which the item's main producing district is in only one area of the town in question (in 30 projects out of 21 towns). Secondly, we have decided on 11 items for what we call, 'Base-Clusters,' a cluster in which the item's main producing district can be associated by name with the item, the production is sizeable, and can be found in several locations of the town in question (in 13 projects out of 11 towns). Finally, we have decided on 12 items for what we call, 'Broad-Based-Clusters, a cluster which the item's main producing district expands the past the vicinity of the town in question (in 19 projects out of 19 towns).
The production of extended-spectrum ${\beta}$-lactamases ($ESBL_S$) is the main mechanism of bacterial resistance to third-generation cephalosporins and monobactams, whose prevalence varies depending on the different geographical areas. In the last years it has increased notably to the point of being considered a health problem of great importance. The characterization of the ESBLs producing Klebsiella penumoniae strains present in clinical isolates is time-consuming. I describe here the development of a new system, which consists of a multiplex PCR. I found 51 K. pneumoniae strains to be presumptive strains ESBLs producers by clinical and laboratory standards institute (CLSI) guidelines. The double disc synergy test showed 47 positive K. pneumoniae, which were K. pneumoniae isolates. All ESBLs producing K. pneumoniae strains were resistant to antibiotic amikacin, gentamicin and ciprofloxacin. By multiplex PCR analysis, $bla_{TEM}$ gene in 17 strains 44 $bla_{SHV}$ genes and $bla_{CTX}$ genes in 33 strains were identified. In this study, the multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay was a good method to detect and differentiate ESBLs producing K. penumoniae strains in clinical isolates.
The authors carried out paralytic shellfish poison bioassay on the 9 kinds of shellfishes collected from Pusan and Kyungnam areas of Korea from April to July, 1986. The areas are the main producing district of fisheries in Korea and the samples were collected from their producing sites-natural, cultured and marketed. There were little or no PSP in the majority of the shellfishes, but 3 natural (Pusan Il-Kwang $700{\mu}g$, Koje Okpo $648{\mu}g$, Chungmoo Madong $124{\mu}g/100gm$ meat) and 1 marketed (Pusan Chakalchi $490{\mu}g/100gm$ meat) blue mussels contained relatively high PSP only in April. It is considered that there will be a possibility of paralytic shellfish poisoning, and control program for preventing the poisoning is necessary in Korea.

This research aims to developing new commercialization project of convergence agricultural industrial model. First, we established an inventory for the planning of convergence agricultural industrial model categorize the relevant factors identified, and then suggested three models which are the business profit model for convergence agriculture industrialization, the resource recycling complex and agricultural tourism model, and the smart agricultural model. Second, in order to investigate the feasibility of each industrial model, we investigated the willingness to participate in the project according to the pilot models such as related organizations and management agencies, and proposed the result of business feasibility analysis. Finally, we suggested the establishment of a demonstration complex through the systemization of element technologies at two models. The related systems and technologies was reviewed as a new commercialization plan through the modeling of convergence agricultural industrial types in main crop production complex presented, and set up mid- to long-term development direction. The results of this study can be applied to the design of convergence agricultural industrial model in main crop production complex.
