FePt/MgO(100) 자성박막의 결정화 연구 (Crystallization of FePt/MgO(100) magnetic thin films)

  • The crystallization of FePt/MgO(100) magnetic thin films of various thicknesses has been studied using synchrotron x-ray scattering, atomic force microscope, and vibrating sample magnetometer. In film with a 500-${\AA}$-thick, ordered (fct) FePt phase was dominantly crystallized into perpendicular (001) grains keeping the magnetically easy c-axis normal to the film plane during annealing. In film with a 812-${\AA}$-thick, however, longitudinal (110) grains keeping the c-axis parallel to the film plane were grown on top of the perpendicular (001) grains. The behavior of the magnetic properties was consistent with the thickness dependence of the crystallization. We attribute the thickness dependence of the crystallization to the substrate effect, which prefers the growth of the c-axis oriented perpendicular grains near the film/substrate interfacial area.

  • In order to increase perpendicular magnetic anisotropy of magnetic layer and prepare magnetic recording layer with a good quality by epitaxial growth between magnetic layer and, we prepared Co$\_$77/Cr$\_$20/Ta$_3$/Si doublelayer for perpendicular magnetic recording media which was promoted as next generation recording media on slide glass substrate. The thickness of magnetic layer and Underlayer were varied from 20 to 100 nm and 5 to 100 m, respectively. The surface morphology and crystal structure of the CoCrTa/Si film were examined with XRD and AFM. Prepared thin films showed improvement of dispersion angle of c-axis orientation Δ$\theta$$\_$50/ caused by inserting amorphous Si underlayer.

  • Crystallographic and magnetic characteristics of CoCr-based magnetic thin film for perpendicular magnetic recording media were influenced on preparing conditions. In these, there is that substrate temperature was parameter that increases perpendicular coercivity of CoCrTa magnetic layer using recording layer. While preparation of CoCr-based doublelayer, by optimizing substrate temperature, we expect to increase perpendicular anisotropy of CoCr magnetic layer and prepare ferromagnetic recording layer with a good quality by epitaxial growth. CoCrTa/Si doublelayer showed a good dispersion angle of c-axis orientation $\Delta\theta_{50}$ caused by inserting amorphous Si underlayer which prepared at underlayer substrate temperature 250C. Perpendicular coercivity was constant, in-plane coercivity was controlled a low value about 200Oe. This result implied that Si underlayer could restrain growth of initial layer of CoCrTa thin film, which showed bad magnetic properties effectively without participating magnetization patterns of magnetic layer. In case of CoCrTa/Si that prepared with ultra thin underlayer, crystalline orientation of CoCrTa was improved rather underlayer thickness 1nm, it was expected that amorphous Si layer played a important role in not only underlayer but also seed layer.

나노 결정립 Fe-Al-O 산화막의 미세구조 변화에 따른 연자기적 특성 분석 (Soft Magnetic Property Analysis of Nanocrystalline Fe-Al-O Film with the Change of Microstructure)

  • 나노 결정립 구조를 갖는 Fe-Al-O 연자성 산화막을 이온빔 에칭법으로 에칭하면서 연자기적 특성의 변화를 조사하였다. 두께가 감소할수록 보자력과 각형비가 증가하고 AFM 으로 조사한 표면굴곡도 증가하는 것으로 보아 결정립의 크기가 증가하는 것으로 판단된다. 이러한 현상은 비정질을 열처리한 나노결정립 연자성 재료와 다르게 성막하는 과정의 온도 상승에 의한 결정성장이 원인으로 판단된다. 따라서 우수한 연자성 박막을 제조하기 위해서는 두께 및 성막시간 등 최적 제조조건을 찾아야 한다. 마그네트론 스퍼터링법으로 제조된 Fe-Al-O 산화막의 경우 900 nm 이상에서 보자력이 1 Oe 이하인 연자성 박막을 얻을 수 있었다.

Magnetic and Magnetostrictive Properties of Amorphous Tb-Fe- and Tb-Fe-B Thin Films

  • Magnetic and magnetostrictive properties of Tb-Fe and Tb-Fe-B thin films are systematically investigated over a wide composition range from 40.2 to 68.1 at. % Tb. The films were fabricated by rf magnetron sputtering using a composite target which consists of an Fe plate and Tb chips. The microstructure, examined by X-ray diffraction, mainly consists of an amorphous phase and, at high Tb contents, a pure Tb phase also exists. A progressive change in the direction of anisotropy from the perpendicular to in-plane occurs as the Tb content increases and the boundary at which the anisotropy change occurs shifts significantly towards to higher Tb contents with the addition of B. The saturation magnetization exhibits maxima at the Tb contents of 42 and 48 at. % for Tb-Fe and Tb-Fe-B thin films, respectively, and it is decreased by the addition of B. The coercive force, measured in the easy direction, decreases monotonically with the Tb content. Excellent magnetostrictive characteristics, particularly at low magnetic fields, are achieved in both Tb-Fe and Tb-Fe-B thin films; for example, a magnetostriction of 138 ppm is obtained in a Tb-Fe-B thin film at a magnetic field as low as 30 Oe. The excellent magnetostrictive properties of the present thin films are supported by the equally excellent magnetic softness, the coercivity below 10 Oe and a typical squared-loop shape with the saturation field as low as 1 kOe. Due to the excellent low field magnetostrictive characteristics, the present Tb-Fe based thin films are thought to be suitable for Si based microdevices.

바이어스 응력에 의한 고자왜 아몰퍼스 박막의 자기이방성 제어 (Anisotropy Control of Highly Magnetostrictive Films by Bias Stress)

  • 우수한 연자성 특성과 자왜 특성을 동시에 나타내는 철계 아몰퍼스 박막을 이용한 고기능성 센서나 신호처리소자와 같은 자기탄성 디바이스를 구현하기 위해서는 자기이방성의 제어가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 철계 아몰퍼스 박막의 자기이방성을 제어하기 위해서 바이어스 응력을 이용한 자기이방성제어 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 방법은 박막의 기판을 굴곡시킨 상태에서 열처리를 실시하여 박막의 응력을 해소하고, 열처리 후 박막기판의 형상을 원상으로 복귀시켜서 박막에 바이어스 응력이 인가되도록 하고, 이 응력에 의해서 박막의 자기이방성이 제어되도록 하는 것이다. 응력을 이용하여 자기이방성을 제어한 박막패턴을 자구의 관찰과 자화곡선의 평가를 고찰한 결과, 제안한 자기이방성 제어방법이 유용함을 알 수 있었다.

METALLIC COATING PROTECTION ON DIELECTROMAGNETS PREPARED FROM MIXTURE OF HARD MAGNETIC POWDERS

  • Our team works on mixture of hard magnetic materials. As hard magnetic material we used mixture of powders: melt-spun ribbon Nd-Fe-B, ferrite and Alnico. Their different mixtures are basic material for dielectromagnets under our investigation. Main disadvantage of dielectromagnets with Nd-Fe-B alloy powder as a component is a low corrosion resistance. Protection against corrosion is covering dielectromagnets with metallic or organic coating film. The coating film protects dielectromagnets from free particles on the surface and low resistance for mechanical stresses too. The surface of dielectromagnets prepared from mixture of powders if formed by metallic particles - powder of Nd-Fe-B and Alnico, particles of oxide - powder of ferrite and particles of resin - bonding materials. Team work on technology of laying the metallic coating on dielectromagnets prepared from mixture of mentioned powders. Papers show the results of initial investigation on metallic coating technology. It shows influence of type and used technology of the metallic coating film on magnetic properties of dielectromagnets.

  • High T$_{c}$ superconducting lines will be applied as key materials in the areas of power transmission line; magnetic levitation of vehicle; magnetic separation; magnetic energy storage and marine propulsion. A combination method of electrophoresis deposition and zone-melting for preparation of YBaCuO tape is proposed. The submicron particle powder of YBaCuO made by sol-gel method is used in the electrophoresis process. A 40~50${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ thickness of YBaCuO film on Ag plate could be deposited in about three minutes. After deposition the film is rolled and heat treated in order to increase the density and the adhesion of the film to the Ag plate. Silver(Ag) and lead oxide(PbO) were added in the YBaCuO powder in order to reduce its melting point. The YBaCuO coating with controlled Ag and PbO contents was preliminarily zone-melted at about 945$^{\circ}C$.>.

  • Many compound semiconductors which have high carrier mobility and small band gap have attentive in application of various practical a field. Especially, InSb served for Hall device and magnetic resistor such as magnetic sensor because InSb thin film has high mobility. Many studies on InSb thin film deposition because In and Sb has been very different feature of vapor pressure($10^4$ times) When In and Sb deposited. In this paper studied it In and Sb deposited simultaneously using by method of co-sputtering deposotion. This process, get to effects of manufacture process simplification. After that this paper observed micro structure and electronic behavior of InSb thin film using by co-sputtering.

  • Squeeze film dampers(SFDs) are designed and analyzed for radial superconducting bearings. The designed SFDs are mounted on the superconductors submerged in liquid nitrogen such that the dampers should supply additional damping to the relatively underdamped superconducting bearing support. Basic theory of SFD with superconducting bearing are introduced. Rotordynamic simulations are provided to support the feasibility of the superconducting magnetic bearings mounted on SFDs for a horizontal flywheel energy storage system.
