  • To analyze delay, Seoul - Daegu line of Korea High Speed Railway was divided into three sections and analyzed independently by the business characteristics. The analysis on the project delay reasons was performed on macro and micro scales. This analytic method was named as 'Macro-Micro Delay Analysis Method (MMDAM)'. The macro scale analysis has three approaches, which are (1) scheduling, (3) structural characteristic, (3) and responsibility of project administrative works. Micro analysis also has three, methodologies which are (1) As Planned Method, (2) As Built method, (3) Modified Time Impact Analysis for analyzing the most influential section which the largest delay occurred. Using elicited project delay reasons from above analysis, the questionnaire was carried out for analyzing the influence of project delay reason. The reasons of the delay were driven from two different aspects (1) structural characteristic and (2) responsibility of the people involved in the project. The reasons that were identified from aforementioned three sections are the factors of the delay of the large-scale government driven projects. Finally, the author suggested the methodology of identifying the project delaying factors. The author also analyzed delay reasons in both the overseas and domestic cases of high rapid railway construction and has elicited some benchmarks for the future projects.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of leisure satisfaction according to calligraphy activities of the elderly on self-efficacy and psychological well-being. In order to conduct this study, the researchers surveyed 306 elderly people aged 65-76 or older from late November to early December 2023 in Anyang City and Xinxiang City, Henan Province, China. In order to verify the research hypothesis, the researchers performed frequency analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, and Pearson correlation analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics 25, and then performed independent sample T-test and one-way analysis of variance (One-Way ANOVA). To verify the hypothesis through the measurement concept, related verification was conducted for Hayes PROCESS macro and Bootstrap. As a result of the study, first, there is a gender difference in leisure satisfaction, leisure satisfaction, self-efficacy, and psychological well-being, and leisure satisfaction and psychological well-being differ significantly according to age. Second, it was found that leisure satisfaction had a positive effect on self-efficacy. Third, it was found that leisure satisfaction had a positive effect on psychological well-being. Fourth, leisure satisfaction was found to have a positive effect on psychological well-being. Therefore, in order to increase the leisure satisfaction and psychological well-being of the elderly, it is necessary to carefully develop a calligraphy activity system to increase self-efficacy.

  • The price structure of housing market varies depending upon market price policy rather than low or high price policy because of IMF. The object of this study is to develop an analysis system for analyzing housing market and its demand. The analysis system consists of four major categories: macro index analysis, market decision analysis, housing market analysis, and consumer analysis. We model each category by using a variety of techniques such as generalized linear model, categorical analysis, bubble analysis, drill-down analysis, price sensitivity meter analysis, optimum price index analysis, profit index measurement analysis, correspondence analysis, conjoint analysis, and multidimensional scaling analysis. Seoul apartment data is analyzed to demonstrate the practical usefulness of the system.

  • Understanding the classification of malocclusion is a crucial issue in Orthodontics. It can also help us to diagnose, treat, and understand malocclusion to establish a standard for definite class of patients. Principal component analysis (PCA) and k-means algorithms have been emerging as data analytic methods for cephalometric measurements, due to their intuitive concepts and application potentials. This study analyzed the macro- and meso-scale classification structure and feature basis vectors of 1020 (415 male, 605 female; mean age, 25 years) orthodontic patients using statistical preprocessing, PCA, random matrix theory (RMT) and k-means algorithms. RMT results show that 7 principal components (PCs) are significant standard in the extraction of features. Using k-means algorithms, 3 and 6 clusters were identified and the axes of PC1~3 were determined to be significant for patient classification. Macro-scale classification denotes skeletal Class I, II, III and PC1 means anteroposterior discrepancy of the maxilla and mandible and mandibular position. PC2 and PC3 means vertical pattern and maxillary position respectively; they played significant roles in the meso-scale classification. In conclusion, the typical patient profile (TPP) of each class showed that the data-based classification corresponds with the clinical classification of orthodontic patients. This data-based study can provide insight into the development of new diagnostic classifications.

  • This study aims to determine whether gender moderates the impact of grit on academic achievement through learning engagement among Chinese high school students. Data were collected through an online survey targeting 345 high school students purposively sampled from a high school in Guangdong, China. The collected data was analyzed using SPSS PC+ Win ver. 25.0 and SPSS PROCESS macro ver. 4.2. The applied statistical methods were frequency analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and moderated mediation effect analysis. The conclusion of the study is as follows. First, grit had a significant positive correlation with learning engagement and academic achievement but no significant correlation with gender. Learning engagement showed a positive correlation with gender and academic achievement. Second, gender moderated the effect of grit on academic achievement through learning engagement. In other words, the conditional indirect effect of grit on academic achievement through learning engagement was higher for men than for women. Based on these results, this study proposed ways to utilize grit and learning engagement differently according to gender to improve the academic achievement of high school students.

  • This study aims to provide basic data that can reduce the parenting stress of parents raising disabled children by verifying whether parenting time mediates the effect of parenting stress on mental health through parenting efficacy. The subjects of the survey were parents of disabled children, a total of 315 people. Data were analyzed using SPSS and SPSS PROCESS macro 4.2. Descriptive statistical analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and moderated mediation effect analysis were applied. The research results are as follows. First, the parenting stress of parents raising disabled children showed a positive correlation with parenting efficacy, a negative correlation between parenting stress and mental health, and a negative correlation between parenting efficacy and mental health. Second, parenting time moderated and mediated the effect of parenting stress on mental health through parenting efficacy. In conclusion, it was confirmed that the parenting time of parents raising disabled children plays a role in increasing the negative impact of parenting stress on mental health through parenting efficacy.

For the purpose, 7,202 research subjects were selected from the 23th data of the Korean Labor and Income Panel Study. Selected data was analyzed by various methods including frequency analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, and correlation analysis. Moreover, the mediating effect was verified by applying SPSS Macro Model Number 4 analysis and bootstrapping method. The major findings are as follows. First, job fit of wage workers was shown to enhance their life satisfaction. Second, work satisfaction of wage workers was revealed to play a complete mediating role in the relationship between job fit and life satisfaction of wage workers. On the basis of the results, the various practical programs to increase life satisfaction of wage workers were discussed.
