미세 전해 구멍 가공에서의 가긍 조건에 따른 가공 간극 변화 특성 (Effect of Machining Conditions on machining gap in Micro Electrochemical Drilling)

  • Micro hole is ode of basic elements for micro device or micro parts. Micro electrochemical machining (ECM) can be applied to the machining of micro holes less than 50 ${\mu}m$ in diameter, which it is not easy to apply other techniques to. For the machining of passivating metals such as stainless steel, machining conditions should be chosen carefully to prevent a passive layer. The machining conditions also affect the machining resolution, In this paper, machining characteristics of micro ECM were investigated according to machining conditions such as electrolyte concentration and pulse conditions. From the investigation, optimal machining conditions were suggested for micro ECM of stainless steel.

  • In this study to assess chip breaking characteristics of cold-drawn free machining steels a newly developed non-dimensional parameter chip breaking index CB has been adopted. And for comparison with free machining steels chip breaking characteristics of conventional carbon steels were investigated. Properly controlled chips were produced with the CB value of 0.05-0.2 regardless of steel types. In case of cold-drawn free machining steels however cycle times of chip breaking are relatively shorter than those of conventional steels. And properly controlled chips were obtained from wider range of feed rate.

  • The high speed machining has been widely applied to manufacture dies and machine elements in industrial field. Especially, 5-axis milling has been employed to produce a wide range of turbine blades, impellers and complex molds. In this study, the machining characteristics of injection molds were investigated according to tool tilting angles in 5-axis milling. The cutting force and surface roughness were investigated with various tool tilting angles. When the tool tilting angle was over than 10 degree, the characteristics of cutting force and surface roughness were improved in machining of Al alloy.

  • This paper presents the structural characteristics analysis of a high-speed horizontal machining center with spindle speed of 50, 000rpm and feedrate of 120m/min. The spindle system is designed based on the built-in motor, angular contact ceramic ball bearings, oil-air lubrication and oil-jacket cooling method. The X-axis and Y-axis feeding systems are composed of the linear motor and linear motion guides, and the Z-axis feeding system is composed of the servo-motor, ball screw and linear motion guide. The structural analysis model of the high-speed horizontal machining center is constructed by the finite element method, and the validity of structural design is estimated based on the structural deformation of the high-speed horizontal machining center and spindle nose caused by the gravity and inertia forces.

  • In this study, to assess chip breaking characteristics of cold-drawn free machining steels, a newly developed non-dimensional parameter, chip breaking index, C/sub B/ has been adopted.   • The estimation of NC machining time is of significance since it provides shop floor engineers with information for the determination of the productivity of the floor as well as process schedules. The NC machining time commonly depends on NC programs since they have various important information such as tool positions, feed rates, and other miscellaneous functions. Thus, nominal NC machining time can be easily acquired based on the programs. Actual machining time, however, cannot be simply obtained because of the dynamic characteristics of a NC machine controller such as acceleration and deceleration. Hence, this study presents a NC machine time estimation model for sculptured surfaces, considering the dynamic characteristics. The estimation model uses the distribution of NC blocks according to a factor influencing the machining time. Finally, machining time is estimated by a statistical machining time estimation model representing the relationship between the block distribution and the machining time. The parameters in the model are searched out by a genetic algorithm.

  • The optical film for light luminance improvement of BLU that is used in LCD/LED and retro-reflective film is used as luminous sign consist of square and triangular pyramid structure pattern based on V-shape micro prism pattern. In this study, we analyzed machining characteristics of Cu-plated flat mold by shaping with diamond tool. First, cutting conditions were optimizing as V-groove machining for the experiment of micro prism structure mold machining with prism pattern shape, cutting force and roughness. Second, the micro prism structure such as square and triangular pyramid pattern were machined by cross machining method with optimizing cutting conditions. Burr and chip shape were discussed with material properties and machining method.

  • Ultrasonic machining technology has been developed over recent years for the manufacture of cost-effective and quality-assured precision parts for several industrial application such as optics, semiconductors, aerospace, and automobile. Ultrasonic machining process is an efficient and economical means of precision machining of ceramic materials. The process is non-thermal, non-chemical and non-electric and hardly creates changes to the mechanical properties of the brittle materials machined. This paper describes the characteristics of the micro-hole of $\textrm{Al}_2\textrm{O}_3$ by ultrasonic machining with tungsten carbide tool. The effects of various parameters of ultrasonic machining, including abrasives, machining force and pressure, on the material removal rate, hole quality, and tool wear presented and discussed. The ultrasonic Machining of micro-holes in ceramics has been under taken and the machining mechanism in the ultrasonic machining of ceramics based on the fracture-mechanics concept has been analyzed.

레이저빔 가공 인자에 따른 구리도금 미세 패터닝 특성 연구 (Study on Characteristics of Micro Patterned Copper Electrodeposition according to Parameters in Laser Beam Machining)

  • This paper proposes a fabrication process of deposited layer with micro patterns that uses a combination of a pulsed laser beam machining and an electrodeposition. This process consists of the electrodeposition and the laser beam machining. The deposited layer on metal can be selectively eliminated by laser ablation. As a result, the deposited layer with micro patterns can be fabricated without a mask. The characteristics of the deposited layer on stainless steel were investigated according to the average power and marking speed in the pulsed laser beam machining. The optimal laser beam conditions for precise micro patterning of the deposited layer were determined. Finally, the deposited copper layer with micro text was successfully fabricated by the pulsed laser beam machining.

  • This paper presents the optimization of a drilling operation subject to machining constraints such as power, torque, thrust, speed and feed rate. The optimization is meant to minimize the machining time required to produce a hole. For the first time, the effects of a pilot hole are included in the formulation of the machining constraints. The optimization problem is solved by using the geometric programming technique. The dual problem is simplified based on the characteristics of the problem, and the effects of machining constraints on the machining variables are identified.
