Microwave를 이용한 폐활성슬러지의 가용화 반응에서 강산과 이온성 물질의 첨가가 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Strong Acid and Ionic Material Addition in the Microwave-assisted Solubilization of Waste Activated Sludge)

  • 폐활성슬러지의 감량화 및 혐기성소화 효율 향상을 위한 가용화 기술로 microwave (MW)에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. MW에 의한 가용화는 유전가열에 의해 가열적, 비가열적 효과 및 이온성 전도를 유도하여 매우 짧은 시간에 반응이 일어나므로 폐활성슬러지의 가용화에 효과적으로 적용될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 폐활성슬러지 가용화에 대해 전도 가열대비 MW의 우수성을 평가하였고, 고출력 조건에서 수행된 기존 연구들과 달리 저출력 조건에서 MW의 효율 향상을 위해 강산인 $H_2SO_4$ 및 이온성 물질인 $CaCl_2$, NaCl을 촉매로 이용하였다. 전도 가열 대비 MW를 이용한 폐활성슬러지의 가용화 효율은 $50^{\circ}C$ 조건에서 6.2배, $100^{\circ}C$ 조건에서 1.4배 높게 나타났으며, 본 연구의 MW 저출력 조건에서 최대 COD 가용화율은 10.0%로 나타났다. 동일한 MW 출력 및 반응시간 조건에서 촉매물질인 $H_2SO_4$ 및 NaCl의 첨가를 통해 폐활성슬러지의 COD 가용화율이 18.1%, 12.7%로 증가하였으며, $CaCl_2$를 첨가하였을 경우에는 COD 가용화율이 10.7%로 MW의 효율에 향상에 효과가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 가용화 효율을 향상시킬 것으로 예상된 $Ca^{2+}$가 슬러지 가용화에 따라 발생하는 ${PO_4}^{3-}$와 반응하여 침전물 형성에 소모되었기 때문으로 판단된다. 본 연구에서 MW 효율 향상을 위한 가장 적합한 촉매물질은 $H_2SO_4$인 것으로 나타났으며, 0.2 M의 $H_2SO_4$를 첨가한 MW 조건이 폐활성슬러지의 가용화에 가장 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.

Genetic and Phenotypic Parameter Estimates of Body Weight at Different Ages and Yearling Fleece Weight in Markhoz Goats

  • The objective of the present study was to estimate genetic parameters for economic traits in Markhoz goats. Data collected from 1993 to 2006 by the Markhoz goat Performance Testing Station in Sanandaj, Iran, were analyzed. The traits recorded as body weight performance at birth (BW), weaning (WW), six month (6MW), nine month (9MW), yearling (YW) and yearling fleece weight (YFW) were investigated. Least square analyses were used for estimation of environmental effects. Genetic parameters were estimated with single and multi trait analysis using restricted maximum likelihood (REML) procedures, under animal models. By ignoring or including maternal additive genetic effects and maternal permanent environmental effects, five different models were fitted for each trait. The effects of sex, type of birth, age of dam and year of birth on the all body weights were significant (p<0.01), but had no effects on YFW except year of birth. Age of kids had significant influences on WW and 6MW (p<0.01). A log likelihood ratio test was carried out for choosing the most suitable model for each trait. Total heritability estimates for YFW and growth traits varied from 0.16 for YFW and WW to 0.41 for YW. For all traits, maternal heritability was lower than direct heritability, ranging from 0.06 for BW to 0.01 for 6MW and 9MW. The magnitude of $c^2$ was more substantial for BW than the others, and relative importance was reduced from 0.12 for BW to 0.04 for 9MW. The direct additive genetic correlations estimates were positive and varied from 0.21 between BW-YW to 0.96 between WW-6MW. Direct additive genetic correlations between YFW and body weight traits were positive and ranged from 0.14 between BW-YFW to 0.67 between 6MW-YFW. For all traits, the corresponding estimates for phenotypic correlation were positive and lower than genetic correlations. The maternal additive genetic correlations between various traits were varied and ranged from -0.19 between 9MW-YFW to 0.96 between 6MW-9MW. The estimates of the maternal permanent environmental correlations between various traits were positive and ranged from 0.33 between WW-YFW to 0.93 between WW-6MW. Also, the environmental correlations between various traits ranged from 0.01 between BW-YFW and WW-YFW to 0.70 between 9MW-YW. Estimates of genetic parameters for various traits in this study confirm that selection should be applied on WW for genetic improvement in Markhoz goats.

신뢰도를 고려한 태양광시스템의 배전계통 연계 알고리즘에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Algorithm for Interconnection of PV System on Power Distribution System Considering Reliability)

  • In this paper, when photovoltaic (PV) systems are connected to power distribution system, most effective capacity and connected-point of PV system are presented considering power distribution system reliability. The reliability model of PV system is presented considering the duration of sunshine. Also the model of time-varying load and reliability test system bus2 model are used. To simulate the effects of PV system, various cases are selected; (1) base case which is no connection of PV system to power distribution system when faults are occurred, (2) 3MW case which is 3[MW] connection of PV system (3) 4[MW] case, and (4) 20[MW] case which is 20[MW] connection of PV system to the bus of power distribution system. The capacity limit of connected PV system is settled to 14[MW] for all cases except case 4. The reliability for residential, general, industrial, and educational customer is evaluated.

  • A pulse transformer producing pulses with the peak power of 200-MW (400 kV 500 A at load side with $4.4{\mu}s$ flat-top) is required to drive the 80-MW pulsed klystron in the PLS linac. We have designed and manufactured the high power pulse transformer with 1 : 17 turn ratio. Its primary functions are to match the impedance of klystron tube to the modulators, and to provide step-up of the voltage. To obtain a fast rise time of the pulse voltage. Low leakage inductance and low distributed capacitance design is very important. In this paper, we discuss the equivalent circuit analysis of the pulse transformer, and present the full power performance test results of pulse transformer.

Effects of Hydrolysis Time on the Molecular Weight Distribution of Alginates Prepared from Sea Tangle Laminaria japonicus

  • To prepare oligouronic acids from high-molecular-weight alginates, sea tangle Laminaria japonicus alginates were hydrolyzed at $80^{\circ}C$ for various hydrolysis times (HT). The effects of hydrolysis time on the distribution ratios (DR) of the molecular weights (MW) of the hydrolyzed alginates were in-vestigated. As HT increased, the DR of the alginates with MW>500 kDa decreased ex-ponentially, while those with MW=50-100 kDa or MW<50 kDa increased exponentially. For MW=300-500 kDa, DR increased exponentially until HT reached 60 min, and then decreased exponentially. Similarly, for MW=100-300 kDa, DR increased exponentially until HT reached 90 min, and then decreased.

  • Tenebrio molitor larvae, also known as yellow mealworms (MW), are rich in protein and lipid and can serve as a potential alternative protein and energy source in commercial aquafeeds. Therefore, this study attempts to evaluate the effects of different drying methods on the nutritional value of MW meal. For this, live MW were cold-anaesthetized before being subjected to three different types of drying methods, including freeze-drying, oven-drying at $60^{\circ}C$ and air-drying at room temperature for three days, and compared for proximate composition and energy content. An in-vivo digestibility test was then conducted to evaluate the nutrient digestibility of MW meal in diets for rockfish, Sebastes schlegeli. A test diet was prepared by mixing the MW meal with a reference diet (Ref) in a 30:70 ratio with chromium oxide as an inert marker at the inclusion level of 0.5%. Rockfish with mean body weight of 150 g were stocked into a fecal collection system equipped with fiberglass tanks of 400 L capacity. Each group of fish was fed one of the experimental diets to apparent satiation for 4 weeks. The results of the proximate analysis showed that drying methods had no significant effect on crude protein, crude lipid, ash and energy contents of MW. Despite being a rich source of protein and lipid, MW meal was deficient in certain amino acids, particularly methionine, and highly unsaturated fatty acids, particularly 22:6n-3 (DHA) and 20:5n-3 (EPA). MW meal showed high digestibility values for protein (93%), lipid (97%) and energy (88%). These results may indicate that MW meal is a nutritious and acceptable feed ingredient, with comparable digestibility values to conventional animal and plant feedstuffs such as fish meal and soybean meal, in practical diet for rockfish at grower stage.

L-페닐알라닌 대량생산을 위한 재조합 플라스미드 구성 (Construction of Plasmids for Overproduction of L-Phenylalanine)

  • E. coli를 이용하여 L-phenylalanine을 대량 생산하기 위한 재조합 플라스미드 pMW10, pMW11과 pMW 12를 구성하였다. L- Phenylalanine 생산을 위한 유전자 $aroF^{FR}$, $pheA^{FR}$은 E. coli MWEC 101-5 균주로부터 분리하였다. 재조합 플라스미드를 함유하고 있는 E.coli 대사 조절변이주들의 L-phenylalanine 생산생과 안전성을 조사하여 $aroF^{FR}$, $pheA^{FR}$유전자들의 효율을 알아보았다. MWEC 101-5/pMW 11 균주에서는 24.3 g/I의 L-phenylalanine이 생산되었으나, 플라스미드의 안정성은 73.8%였다. 본 균주의 prephemte dehydratase, 고유 활동도는 E. coli K-12에 비하여 26배 증가된 것이다.

주파수조정용 에너지저장장치 시운전 자동화 시스템의 개발과 실증 (Development and Demonstration of Trial-run Automation System of Energy Storage System for Frequency Regulation)

  • System to automate the trial-run of energy storage system for frequency regulation was developed and demonstrated. Basic strategy was developed on the basis of trial-run procedure and verified in the computer simulation tool. The algorithm was developed and coded for 4MW trial-run automation system. 4MW trial-run automation system was connected to 4MW energy storage system for frequency regulation in Jocheon substation of Jeju city and demonstrated. 24MW trial-run automation system was developed on the basis of 4MW trial-run automation system and verified by operation system for 24MW energy storage system for frequency regulation. The operation system has own simulation model of energy storage system and power system. The verification was performed to improve the system in the view of user. 24MW trial-run automation system was demonstrated in 32MW Ul-san and 36MW Non-gong energy storage system. All tests of trial-run was done by manual and first they ware taken 1 week with no trial-run automation system. The manual trial-run tests were taken by maximum three times. Trial-run test by trial-run automation system was taken 2 days. The system helps reduce the trial-run test period and improve the accuracy of tests.

자연기흉 환자의 흉곽계측 (Chest dimension in spontaneous pneumothorax)

  • Spontaneous pneumothorax is usually seen in young adult male. And typically, the patient is a tall, thin, 20- to 30-year-old male. Usually the pneumothorax results from rupture of a pulmonary bleb. Author reviewed 66 cases of spontaneous pneumothorax experienced in the Dept. of Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery, Pusan National University Hospital, since Jan., 1980 to Aug., 1986. The clinical data were summarized as follows: 1. The age distribution of spontaneous pneumothorax: 17 to 34 years old and mean age was 25.3 years. 2. The sex distribution of spontaneous pneumothorax: 52 in men, 14 in women and the ratio was 3.7:1. 3. Chest dimension in male patients: Maximum posteroanterior distance [MPA], MPA/Maximum width [MW]: Significantly smaller than control group. Distance from second to tenth rib on left [L2-10], Distance from second rib on right to diaphragm [R2-D], R2-D/MW: Significantly larger than control group. 4. Chest dimension in female patients: MPA, MW: Significantly smaller than control group. Distance from second rib on left to diaphragm [L2-D], Distance from second to tenth rib on right [R2-10], R2-D, L2-10/MW, L2-D/MW, R2-10/MW, R2-D/MW: Significantly larger than control group.

김치 starter용으로 개량된 내산성 변이주 Leuconostoc mesenteroides의 내산성 특성 (Properties of Acid Tolerance of Acid-Resistant Mutant Leuconostoc mesenteroides Which Was Improved as Kimchi Starter.)

  • 김치 starter로 개량된 내산성 변이균주 M-100이 획득한 증가된 내산성에 관한 생리적 성질을 규명하기 위하여 수소 이온 투과도, ATPase 활성, 해당 작용 활성, $Mg^{2+}$ 해리도 그리고 막지방산 조성등을 그것의 야생균주 Mw와 비교 분석하였다. 수소 이온 투과도 실험 결과 150mM KCI수용액 및 3% NaCl수용액에서 변이균주 M-100의 $t_{1/2}$값이 pH 4.0, 5.0 그리고 6.0에서 모두 야생 균주 Mw보다 낮은 값을 보였다. ATPase 활성의 결과에서도 전체 pH 범위에서 변이균주 M-100이 야생균주 Mw보다 높은 활성을 보였다. 해당 작용의 pH 의존성 결과에서는 최대 활성의 해당 작용이 일어나는 pH가 야생 균주 Mw는 5.0, 변이균주 M-100의 경우는 6.0으로 예상과는 약간 상이하였으나, pH 5.0을 제외한 전체적인 범위에서 변이균주 M-100의 해당 작용 활성이 야생균주 Mw보다 높게 유지됨을 확인하였다. $Mg^{2+}$ 해리도에 있어서는 pH 4에서 2시간 경과후 야생균주 Mw에 비해 변이균주 M-100이 약 1/3가량 적게 $Mg^{++}$이 유출되었다. 막지방산 조성의 변화는 환경상의 낮은 pH에 대한 반응 양상을 나타내는 중요한 지표로 측정된 결과를 보면, 야생균주 MW와 변이균주 M-100간의 비교결과 $C_{12}$, $C_{14}$, $C_{18:1}$, $C_{19:0cyclo}$ 등에서 주된 차이를 나타내었으며, 특히 $C_{18:1}$은 야생균주 Mw가 23.4%, 변이균주 M-100이 15.1%로서 변이균주M-100에서 감소된, $C_{19:0cyclo}$는 변이균주 M-100이 12.2%로, 야생균주 Mw이 10.2%에 비해 증가되었다.
