MR 브레이크 고출력화 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on Design for High-torque MR(Magnetorheological) Brake)

  • In this study, a MR(Magneto-rheological) brake to obtain high torque-to-size ratio instead of conventional powder brake is presented for high-tension control of converting machinery such as coater, slitter and so on. First, to obtain the higher performance than conventional powder brake, a MR brake with a modified rotor shape is newly designed and analyzed by using electromagnetic field analysis. Second, a prototype of the MR brake is fabricated with the optimized structural parameters and an experimental apparatus is constructed. Finally, basic characteristics between current and torque are experimentally investigated.

MR 댐퍼의 제작과 Bingham 모델의 매개변수 추정 (Manufacturing of MR Dampers and Estimation of the Bingham Model Parameters)

  • Small MR dampers with a simple structure were designed and manufactured. The Bingham model was used to represent the dynamic characteristics of the damper, and the parameters of the model were estimated from experimental data which were obtained by harmonic tests. The value of the estimated yield shear force remains positive when no electric current is applied, and it increases slowly with the current. The estimated viscous damping coefficient has a value close to zero when no electric current is applied, and it increases almost linearly with the current.

  • IoT 기반의 초연결사회가 되어감에 따라 암호, 인증, 전자서명 등을 위해 RSA와 같은 공개키암호시스템이 빈번하게 사용되고 있다. 공개키암호시스템은 악의적인 공격으로부터 보안성을 확보하기 위해 크기가 매우 큰 (안전)소수를 사용하는데 기기의 성능이 크게 발전하였음에도 불구하고 크기가 큰 (안전)소수생성은 수행시간이 오래 걸리거나 메모리를 많이 요구하는 작업이다. 본 논문에서는 수행시간과 사용공간의 효율을 높이기 위해 오일러체(Euler sieve)를 사용하는 ET-MR 소수검사법과 ET-MR-MR 안전소수검사법을 제안한다. 제안한 검사법을 확률적으로 분석한 수행시간 예측 모델을 제안하고 기존 방법들과 수행시간, 메모리 사용량을 비교하였다. 실험결과, 이론적 예측시간과 실제 수행시간의 차이는 거의 없었으며(4%미만) 각 알고리즘이 가장 빠를 때의 수행시간을 비교하면 ET-MR이 TD-MR보다 34.5%, DT-MR보다 8.5% 더 빨랐으며, ET-MR-MR이 TD-MR-MR보다 65.3% 더 빨랐고, DT-MR-MR과는 비슷하였다. 공간의 경우 k=12,381일 때 ET-MR이 DT-MR보다 약 2.7배 더 사용했지만 TD-MR보다 98.5% 더 적게 사용하였고 k=65,536일 때 ET-MR-MR이 TD-MR-MR 보다 98.4%, DT-MR-MR보다 92.8% 더 적게 사용하였다.

  • This paper presents designs and performance investigations of two bypass-type MR (magneto-rheological) shock dampers for high impulsive force systems, one of which is with single rod and the other with double rod. First of all, on the basis of the Bingham properties of the MR fluid and the magnetic field analysis of the magnetic circuit, the MR shock dampers are designed and manufactured. After experimental investigations on their magnetic field-dependent damping forces and responses characteristics, dynamic models of the proposed dampers are formulated and compared. Then, a simple 1 degree-of-freedom mass-drop system is constructed, and the effective and practical control algorithm is designed by considering dynamic characteristics of the shock control system. The shock control performances of the proposed MR shock dampers are verified through the comparison study of experiment results with simulation ones.

대시포트형 MR유체 마운트의 설계 인자에 대한 실험적 고찰 (An Experimental Study on the Design Parameters of the Dashpot type MR fluid mount)

  • 본 연구에서는 MR유체를 특징으로 하는 대시포트형 마운트를 제안하고, 자극 형상 및 구조의 변화가 MR유체 마운트의 감쇠력에 미치는 영향에 대하여 실험적으로 고찰하였다. 자극의 유효길이와 코어 중심부의 구조를 달리하여 MR 유체 마운트를 제작하였다. MR유체 마운트에 자기장을 형성하기 위하여 공급하는 전류의 세기를 변화시켰을 때의 감쇠력 변화와 전류를 공급하지 않은 경우의 감쇠력 변화를 측정하였다. 또한, 가진 변위는 일정하게 유지한 상태에서 MR엔진마운트에 가해지는 가진 주파수를 변화시켜 감쇠력의 변화를 측정하였다. MR유체마운트로부터 전달되는 힘은 가진 주파수가 증가함에 따라 감소하는 경향을 나타냈으며, 공급하는 전류의 세기가 증가함에 따라 전달되는 힘은 증가하여 나타났다. 자기장이 형성되는 MR마운트에 유효길이 변화에 대해서는 전달력의 변화가 나타나지 않았다.

  • Recently MR CDC damper has been applied to semi-active suspension control system gradually. Compared to former hydraulic CDC damper, it has rapid time response performance as well as simple internal structure and wide range of damping force. In order to develop control logic algorithm which enables to take maximum advantage of unique characteristics of MR CDC damper, it is inevitable to perform a thorough investigation into its nonlinear performance. In many previous researches, MR fluid model was either simply assumed as Bingham Plastic, or a phenomenological model based on experiment was established instead to predict damping performance of MR CDC damper. These experimental flow model which is not based on flow analysis but intentionally built to fit damping characteristics, may lead to totally different results in case of different configuration or structure of MR CDC damper. In this study, a generalized flow formula from mathematical flow model of MR fluid for annular orifice is derived to analyze and predict damping characteristics when current is excited at piston valve.

  • The paper introduces Multi-Platform Analysis (MPA) for the seismic performance of a structure controlled by Magneto-Rheological (MR) dampers and presents analytical assessment of the effect of MR damper when taking into account nonlinear behavior of the structure. This paper introduces the MR Damper Plugin that can facilitate communication between MATLAB/Simulink and a finite element analysis tool in order to account for more complex inelastic behavior of the structure with MR dampers. The MPA method using the developed MR Damper Plugin is validated with experimental results from the real-time hybrid simulation. By utilizing the proposed MPA method, the three-story RC structure controlled by MR dampers is more realistically modeled and its performance under seismic loads is investigated. It is concluded that MR damper designed for a linear structure is not effective in a nonlinear structure and can overestimate the effect of MR damper. This work is expected to overcome difficulties in the analytical assessment of structural control strategies for complex and nonlinear structures by obtaining more reliable results.

MR 유체의 자기유동 특성에 대한 실험연구 (Experimental study on Magnetic Flow Characteristics of MR Fluid)

  • MR 유체의 물리특성은 자기장에 의해 영향을 받는다. 본 연구에서는 MR 유체의 자기장에 의한 유동변화를 실험적으로 조사하고자, MR 유체의 밀도와 점도를 변경하면서 자기장에 의한 유동 가시화와 전단응력 변화를 측정하였다. 이를 위해 밀도 3종, 점도 3종에 대한 MR 유체를 제조하였고 MR 유체 가시화 실험장치를 제작하였다. 자기장이 인가되면, MR 유체 파우더의 유동흐름은 띠를 형성하면서 자기장이 인가되지 않은 경우와는 다른 유동흐름을 보여주었다. 또한 전단응력은 인가전류와 밀도가 높을수록 더 크게 증가하였으며, 인가전류 2.0A에서 MR 유체의 밀도가 $1300kg/m^3$에서 $1700kg/m^3$ 로 변하면 전단응력은 33% 정도 증가하였다.

  • This paper presents temperature control of engine cooling system using a controllable magnetorheological (MR) fan clutch. An appropriate size of MR fan clutch is devised and modeled on the basis of Bingham model. Subsequently, an optimization to determine design parameters such as width of housing is undertaken by choosing the reciprocal of the controllable torque as an objective function. Under consideration of spatial limitation, design parameters are optimally determined using finite element analysis. A sliding mode controller is then designed to control the angular velocity of the MR fan clutch using experimentally determined parameters. The designed controller is experimentally implemented and control performances of the MR fan clutch system are evaluated.
