  • 본 논문에서 지구자기장을 측정하여 방위를 결정하는 자기 저항 소자의 경사각의 이상 현상에서 있어 예측할 수 없는 특성에 대해 불확실성에서의 추론을 통해 센서로서의 안정성을 확보하는데 그 목적이 있다. 따라서 퍼지 알고리즘을 적용하여 외부 환경 변화에 민감하게 변화하는 소자의 왜곡현상을 프로그래밍 적인 요소를 실험하여 센서의 왜율적인 요소에서 벗어남을 보인다. 나아가 소자의 고속, 고신뢰성을 갖는 응용에 사용할 수 있음을 보인다.

A New Type of MR Sensor-Based Vehicle Detector with High Performance and Reliability

  • This paper proposes a vehicle detector with a magnetoresistive (MR) sensor. The detector consists of a MR sensor and mechanical and electronic apparatuses. Composed of six magnetically variable resistors, the MR sensor senses disturbance of the earth's magnetic field caused by a moving vehicle over itself and then produces an output indicative of the moving vehicle. Experiments have been carried out with three stages. At the first stage, the outputs of the sensor have been analyzed to show the validity of the detector's circuit and the detecting method. At the second stage, the detector has been tested on a local highway in Korea. Through the field tests, the outputs of the detector in response to various kinds of moving vehicles have been collected and analyzed. At the final stage, to verify the performance of the detector, traffic volumes on the highway have been measured with the detector and compared with the exact traffic volumes in a highly congested traffic.

무인차량의 강인한 조향제어 시스템 설계에 관한 연구 (Development of Steering System for Unmanned Vehicle by Using Robust Control)

  • The automatic steering system for unmanned vehicle was developed. The magnet and MR (Magnetoresistive) sensors are used for the tue detecting system. The lateral distance between sensor and the center line of the road is determined by the linearization of the distance according to the output. The PD control theory is used for the design of the controller to compare with $H_\infty$ control theory. The $H_\infty$ control theory is used for the design of the controller to reduce the disturbance. The performance of the PD controller and $H_\infty$ controller is compared in simulations and tests. The PD controller is easy to tune in the test site. The $H_\infty$ controller is robust far the disturbances in the test results.

  • In this study, the steering control system for UCT (unmanned container transporter) was developed using MR (Magnetoresistive) sensors. The MR and magnet sensors are used for the lane detecting system. The robust control theory is used for the design of the steering controller to reduce the uncertainties of the road. The performance of the robust steering controller is compared in simulations and tests using the existing PD controller of the UCT.

  • VLSI의 집적도가 증가함에 따라 설계와 제조과정에서 기존의 논리 테스트 방법으로는 검출하기 어려운 고장들이 발생하고 있다. 최근에는 이러한 고장을 검출하기 위한IDDQ 테스팅 방법의 중요성이 증대되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 CMOS 회로내에서 IDDQ 값을 검사하여 고장의 유무를 검사하는 전류 테스팅 기법에 사용될 수 있는 새로운 전류감지기를 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안된 전류감지기는 자기저항 소자 MR 전류감지기, 레벨변환기, 비교기로 구성되어 있으며 자동으로 고장을 검출할 수 있다.

  • MR head technology from the perspective of read sensor evolution was reviewed. AMR sensors have been developed for last two decades and successfully employed into information storage devices such as disk drives. Development of manufacturable GMR sensors is of emerging technological interest because GMR sensors can further meet the need of ultrahigh recording density. In this review, the mechanisms, materials systems, operating principles of both AMR an GMR sensors, and the head structures were discuseed. Constructing GMR heads with ultrathin sensor materials and complex topographical structures demands unique fabrication and design challenges. The commercialization of GMR heads can only be realized by the succesful implementations of high performance materials, advanced thin film processes, and stable head design.

  • Corrosion of the disk has been an ongoing concern for the manufacturers of hard disk drives. With the advent of magnetoresistive (MR) head, very low levels of corrosion and contamination become more critical since the raised defects and corrosion products on the disk surface-anything that heats the MR sensor due to the contact-can distort the output signal of the head. This phenomenon is called as thermal asperity. In this paper, the effect of corrosion as a form of Co migration on the occurrence of thermal asperity in MR drives was investigated. The corrosion test at high temperature (60$^{\circ}C$) and high relative humidity (80%) was emphasized in this study and the testing results at ambient condition were compared. The corrosion on the disks was characterized as the amount of Co ion migration using an ion chromatography (IC) and a time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectroscopy (TOF-SIMS). It is proved that corrosion on the disk surface after storage testing is closely correlated to the amount of Co ions migration from the magnetic layer to disk surfaces and higher Co migration causes more thermal asperities in the drive. In order to reduce Co migration, several methods such as burnishing process and structure of the carbon overcoat were investigated. It is found that the hydrogenated carbon overcoat shows the least Co migration among different types of overcoat layer. However, the most effective way to reduce Co migration is the application of Cr layer between the overcoat and the magnetic alloy layer.

어레이 IrMn 스핀밸브 소자의 자기저항특성 연구 (Magnetoresistive Properties of Array IrMn Spin Valves Devices)

  • 어레이(away) 자성센서 개발을 위해 고진공 스퍼터링 증착장비를 이용하여 스펙큘러형(specular type) Glass/Ta(5)/NiFe(7)/IrMn(10)/NiFe(5)/$O_2$/CoFe(5)/Cu(2.6)/CoFe(5)/$O_2$/NiFe(7)/Ta(5)(nm) 거대자기저항-스핀밸브(giant magnetoresistive-spin valves; CMR-SV)박막을 제작하였다. 다층박막 시료를 $20{\times}80{\mu}m^2$의 미세 활성영역을 가진 15개 어레이를 $8{\times}8mm^2$ 영역 내에 최적화한 제작 조건으로 광 리소그래피 패터닝 하였다. Cu를 증착하여 만든 2단자 전극법으로 측정한 자성특성은 15개 모든 소자들이 균일한 자기저항특성을 나타내었고, 5 Oe 근방에서 가장 민감한 자기저항비 자장민감도와 출력전압들은 각각 0.5%/Oe, ${\triangle}$V: 3.9 mV이었다. 형상자기이방성이 적용된 상부 자유층 $CoFe/O_2/NiFe$층은 하부 고정 자성층 $IrMn/NiFe/O_2/CoFe$층 자화 용이축과 직교하였다. 측정시 인가전류 값을 각각 1 mA에서 10 mA까지 인가하였을 때 출력 작동 전압 값은 균일하게 증가하였으며, 자장감응도도 거의 일정하여 미세 외부자장에 민감한 나노자성소자로서 좋은 특성을 띠었다.

  • A shielded magnetoresistive (SMR) head which has double MR films and linearizes each other has been designed and studied by applying the transmission-line model. We have analyzed the yoke efficiency, bias efficiency and read efficiency of the SMR head. The read efficiency strongly depends on the height of the sensor and slightly on the other geometric parameters. The yoke and bias efficiencies vary with gap length, insulated layer thickness and relative permeability. A quasi-index reduction in the signal flux is observed when the displacement moves away from the medium.
