Measurement of Shoulder Muscle Workload at Various Working Postures (작업자세에 따른 어깨근육의 작업부하 측정)

  • The maximum work capacity at various shoulder angles was estimated in terms of joint moment through maximum voluntary contraction (MVC) measurement, and the result was compared to workload computed from 3-D static lifting model (3DSSPP) based upon national institute of safety and health (NIOSH) lifting guideline (1991). The electromyography (EMG) of anterior/posterior deltoid and trapezius muscle was also recorded to study the function of individual muscle during asymmetric shoulder lifting. Psychophysical workload was measured to observe the difference from MVC or biomechanical estimation. An apparatus was constructed for the study and twenty five trials including five flexion angles and five add/abduction angles were performed isometrically. Results indicated that MVC at 30 degree of flexion was the strongest whereas MVC at 120 degree was the weakest. In case of add/abduction, MVC decreased to 77 to 89 % during add/abduction compared to the MVC at neutral position. Regarding the normalized EMG value, a substantial increase was observed at 30 and 60 degree abduction. More importantly, the shoulder moment computed from maximum permissible limit (MPL) was greater than the moment at MVC condition during 30 degree adduction. Current result can be used as a reference information for a safe workplace design to prevent the shoulder from an excessive work load in industry.

Fragmentation of Common Bile Duct and Pancreatic Duct Stones by Extracorporeal Shock-wave Lithotripsy (체외충격파쇄석술을 이용한 총담관 및 췌관 결석의 치료)

  • To determine its usefulness and safety of extracorporeal shock-wave lithotripsy in common bile duct and pancreatic duct stones, we analyzed the results of 13 patients with common bile duct stones and 6 patients with pancreatic duct stones which were removed by endoscopic procedures using the balloon or basket, who was performed the extracorporeal shock-wave lithotripsy using the ultrasonography for stone localization with a spark gap type Lithotriptor(Dernier MPL 9000, Germany). Fragmentation and complete clearance of the common bile duct and pancreatic duct stones were obtained in 19 of 19 patients(100%). Apart from transient attacks of fever in 2 of 13 patients with common bile duct stones(15%) and mild elevation of serum amylase and lipase in 2 of 6 patients with pancreatic duct stones(33%), no other serious side effects were observed. In our experiences, extracorporeal shock-wave lithotripsy is a safe and useful treatment for endoscopically unretrievable common bile duct and pancreatic duct stones.

Oblique Single-Cut Rotation Osteotomy for Correction of Femoral Varus-Torsional Deformities in 3D-Reconstructed Canine Bone Models

  • The purpose of this study was to report the reliability and validity of oblique single-cut rotation osteotomy (OSCRO) in 3D-reconstructed canine bone models with femoral varus and torsional deformities. A healthy adult male beagle was recruited to create a 3D bone model, and this bone model was modified by using a 3D program. Fifteen bone models were constructed for this study. OSCRO simulation was performed in accordance with the plan after printing using a 3D printing machine. The anatomical lateral distal femoral angle (aLDFA), anteversion angle (AA), anatomical caudo-distal femoral angle (aCdDFA), mechanical caudo-distal femoral angle (mCdDFA) and pre- and postoperative bone length were calculated. There were no significant differences between the target values and postoperative values. In addition, the difference between pre- and postoperative bone length was small (p = 0.001). Our findings suggest that OSCRO could be an effective surgical option for MPL with bone deformities in small-breed dogs that often undergo conventional distal femoral osteotomy.

  • With the invention of MPLS and the Improvement in traffic engineering, multipath packet forwarding and dynamic load control has become a reality. A dynamic load control, while it can improve network efficiency by controlling loads between paths according to the network state, can lead to unstable and oscillating state because of the staleness of the state information. In this paper, we propose a efficient load control scheme which remains stable. The proposed scheme introduces prediction to reduce the staleness of state message and to prevent oscillation.

  • 현재의 인터넷은 IPv4를 기반으로 하며, CIDR(Classless InterDomain Routing)을 이용하여 IP의 고갈을 막으려고 노력하고 있다. 그러나, 이는 근본적인 대책이 아니다. 그 때문에 IP는 점차 고갈되어 미래에는 IPv6로 옮겨갈 것이다. 이렇게 IPv6로 발전함에 따라 IP 주소는 매우 늘어날 수 있으나, 출발지 주소와 목적지 주소의 헤더가 커짐에 따라 헤더의 IP 주소를 모두 읽어보는 데에 많은 비용(cost)이 들게 된다. 따라서, 각각의 ISP(Internet Service Provider)들은 MPLS(Multiprotocol Label Switching)를 사용하여 이 문제를 해결하려 노력할 수 있다. 또한, MPLS는 기존의 IP 주소를 이용한 라우팅은 경로를 찾기 위해 필요이상으로 많은 정보를 요구한다고 보고, 레이블 개념을 도입하여 스위칭해주는 역할을 하기 때문에 라우팅을 위해 IPv6로 인하여 더욱 길어진 IP 주소를 요구하지 않고 단지 레이블을 붙임으로 속도를 향상시킬 수 있다. 이러한 환경에서의 이동 IP는 COA를 얻게되면 레이블을 붙여서 목적지까지 전달되게 되고, 이렇게 전달되는 이동 IP에서 COA와 레이블을 합쳐서 하나로 보내는 방식으로 이동 IP의 효율을 높일 수 있다.

  • 최근 수문자료에 대한 다변량 빈도해석 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 하나의 자료를 확률변수로 사용하는 단변량 빈도해석에 비해 여러 수문자료를 조합하여 동시에 추정할 수 있는 다변량 빈도해석은 수문자료의 상관성을 고려하면서 확률분포형을 추정할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 이에 다변량 확률분포형을 이용한 빈도해석 과정 중 정확한 매개변수 추정을 위한 연구도 최근 여러방면으로 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 다변량 확률분포형의 매개변수 추정방법 중 기존에 주로 사용되고 있는 의사최우도법(MPL, Maximum Pseudo-Likelihood method)의 성능을 개선하기 위해 기존의 방법과 본 연구에서 제안하는 매개변수 추정방법의 Monte-Carlo 모의실험을 수행하였다. 일반적으로 수문자료는 양(+)의 왜곡도계수를 갖기 때문에 GEV(Geveralized Extreme Value) 분포형을 모분포로 하여 각 방법의 정확성을 검토하였다. 모의실험을 수행한 결과, 기존의사최우도법에서 Weibull 식을 이용하여 순위통계량을 계산하는 방법보다 본 연구에서 제안한 왜곡도를 고려하는 순위통계량을 사용하는 것이 더 정확한 매개변수 추정결과를 보여주는 것으로 나타났다.

A Study of Weighing System to Apply into Hydraulic Excavator with CNN (CNN기반 굴삭기용 부하 측정 시스템 구현을 위한 연구)

  • A weighing system calculates the bucket's excavation amount of an excavator. Usually, the excavation amount is computed by the excavator's motion equations with sensing data. But these motion equations have computing errors that are induced by assumptions to the linear systems and identification of the equation's parameters. To reduce computing errors, some commercial weighing system incorporates particular motion into the excavation process. This study introduces a linear regression model on an artificial neural network that has fewer predicted errors and doesn't need a particular pose during an excavation. Time serial data were gathered from a 30tons excavator's loading test. Then these data were preprocessed to be adjusted by MPL (Multi Layer Perceptron) or CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) based linear regression models. Each model was trained by changing hyperparameter such as layer or node numbers, drop-out rate, and kernel size. Finally ID-CNN-based linear regression model was selected.

Genetic classification and confirmation of inherited platelet disorders: current status in Korea

  • Inherited platelet disorders (IPDs), which manifest as primary hemostasis defects, often underlie abnormal bleeding and a family history of thrombocytopenia, bone marrow failure, hematologic malignancies, undefined mucocutaneous bleeding disorder, or congenital bony defects. Wide heterogeneity in IPD types with regard to the presence or absence of thrombocytopenia, platelet dysfunction, bone marrow failure, and dysmegakaryopoiesis is observed in patients. The individual processes involved in platelet production and hemostasis are genetically controlled; to date, mutations of more than 50 genes involved in various platelet biogenesis steps have been implicated in IPDs. Representative IPDs resulting from defects in specific pathways, such as thrombopoietin/MPL signaling; transcriptional regulation; granule formation, trafficking, and secretion; proplatelet formation; cytoskeleton regulation; and transmembrane glycoprotein signaling are reviewed, and the underlying gene mutations are discussed based on the National Center for Biotechnology Information database and Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man accession number. Further, the status and prevalence of genetically confirmed IPDs in Korea are explored based on searches of the PubMed and KoreaMed databases. IPDs are congenital bleeding disorders that can be dangerous due to unexpected bleeding and require genetic counseling for family members and descendants. Therefore, the pediatrician should be suspicious and aware of IPDs and perform the appropriate tests if the patient has unexpected bleeding. However, all IPDs are extremely rare; thus, the domestic incidences of IPDs are unclear and their diagnosis is difficult. Diagnostic confirmation or differential diagnoses of IPDs are challenging, time-consuming, and expensive, and patients are frequently misdiagnosed. Comprehensive molecular characterization and classification of these disorders should enable accurate and precise diagnosis and facilitate improved patient management.

  • The rapid increase of Internet users, diversity of application services, high speed data transmission, and extension of application areas have resulted in exponential growth of Internet traffic. In order to satisfy the increasing demand of bandwidth, the MPλS protocol, which is based on MPLS for efficient integration of WDM and IP protocols, has been suggested by IETF. In this paper, we present an MPλS simulator which enables to simulate various MPλS function such as optical crossconnect (OXC), multi-wavelength links, routing and wavelength assignment(RWA), and MPλS signaling and control. The simulator is developed based on the ns-2, an widely used multi-protocol network simulator. The function of the simulator is validated by running many simulation based on various scenarios and performance measures such as throughput and blocking probability. The simulator could be widely utilized for validation of proposed protocols before developing real optical network systems.

Effect of protected Methionine and Lysine on Milk yield and Composition in Holstein Dairy Cow under Different Dietary Crude Protein Levels : Meta-analysis (사료 내 수준별 조단백질 조건에서 보호메티오닌과 보호라이신의 사료첨가 급여가 착유우유생산성 및 유성분에 미치는 영향 : 메타분석)

  • The present study was conducted to investigate effect of dietary protected amino acid on milk yield and composition in dairy cow using meta-analysis. Total 21 research papers were employed in analysis, and mixed model was used for the analysis of effects. Effect of protected methionine (PM) and combination of protected methionine and lysine (PML) were investigated under two different levels of dietary crude protein (CP, <18% and >18%). For performance of dairy cow, milk yield, milk composition including milk fat and protein content and yield and 4% FCM (fat corrected milk) production were used for analysis. In case of milk yield, a trend of increment was found at PM supplementation at low CP (P=0.055). However, the effect of PM at high CP was detected as not significant (P>0.05). In case of milk protein, inclusion of PM at low CP showed significant decrement (P<0.05). However, there was no significant effect of MP on milk protein at high CP (P>0.05). Supplementation of MP at high CP level showed significant increment of milk fat (P<0.05). MP supplementation represented significant increment of 4% FCM production (P<0.05) regardless of dietary CP levels. Effects of PML on milk yield and composition at both of low and high dietary CP were not significant in this study. However, it seem to be that there was a possible positive effect of MPL application at high dietary CP on performance of dairy cow.
