The Effects of County-of-Origin, BrandImage, and Corporate Image Dimensions on Brand Evaluations and Purchase Intentions of Smart Phones of Five Brands: A Comparative Study of China and Korea

  • Purpose - In the academic literature, the researches on a comparative study on purchase behaviors of the consumers from emerging and mature markets remain limited. Therefore, this empirical study is attempted to examine the effects of country of origin (COO), brand image and corporate image on the purchase behavior of Chinese consumers (as from emerging market) and Korean consumers (as from mature market). Research Design, data, methodology - In total, 615 valid questionnaires were collected from the main cities of China and Korea respectively, and a multiple group analysis was conducted to test the hypotheses with SPSS 16.0 and AMOS18.0. Results - Chinese consumers are not influenced by country-of-origin effect, whereas Korean consumers are sensitive to it. Both Chinese and Korean consumers are sensitive to brand image, whereas corporate image does appear to influence Chinese consumers but not Korean consumers. The effects of country-of-origin are not more influential in less developed market (China) than more developed market (Korea). Conclusions - According to the results of this empirical study, the country-of-origin effect does impact Korean consumers but not Chinese consumers' purchase behavior. Therefore, multinational companies are relatively free to make the decision, if Chinese consumers are the marketing targets, when choosing manufacturing sites.

Detection Copy-Move Forgery in Image Via Quaternion Polar Harmonic Transforms

  • Copy-move forgery (CMF) in digital images is a detrimental tampering of artefacts that requires precise detection and analysis. CMF is performed by copying and pasting a part of an image into other portions of it. Despite several efforts to detect CMF, accurate identification of noise, blur and rotated region-mediated forged image areas is still difficult. A novel algorithm is developed on the basis of quaternion polar complex exponential transform (QPCET) to detect CMF and is conducted involving a few steps. Firstly, the suspicious image is divided into overlapping blocks. Secondly, invariant features for each block are extracted using QPCET. Thirdly, the duplicated image blocks are determined using k-dimensional tree (kd-tree) block matching. Lastly, a new technique is introduced to reduce the flat region-mediated false matches. Experiments are performed on numerous images selected from the CoMoFoD database. MATLAB 2017b is used to employ the proposed method. Metrics such as correct and false detection ratios are utilised to evaluate the performance of the proposed CMF detection method. Experimental results demonstrate the precise and efficient CMF detection capacity of the proposed approach even under image distortion including rotation, scaling, additive noise, blurring, brightness, colour reduction and JPEG compression. Furthermore, our method can solve the false match problem and outperform existing ones in terms of precision and false positive rate. The proposed approach may serve as a basis for accurate digital image forensic investigations.

  • In this paper, A tracking of the moving objects using normalized hue distribution in HSI color model was proposed. Moving objects are detected by using difference image method and integral projection method to background image and objects image only with hue area. Hue information of the detected moving area are normalized by 24 levels from $0^{\circ}$ to $3600^{\circ}A$ distance in between normalized levels with a hue distribution chart of the normalized moving objects is used for the identity distinction feature parameters of the moving objects. To examine proposed method in this paper, image of moving cars are obtained by setting up three cameras at different places every 1 km on outer motorway. The simulation results of identity distinction show that it is possible to distinct the identity a distance in between normalization levels of a hue distribution chart without background.

  • Digital Subtraction Angiography(DSA) technique has been widely used to detect vascular diseases and hemodynamic parameters noninvasively. However, there factors in fluencing the resultant DSA image quality. In this paper, several important factors are suggested to improve the DSA image quality based on mathematicical analysis. Experimental DSA images for different filters are shown and also dicussed the difference between original and processed image qualities.

ITERATIVE REWEIGHTED ALGORITHM FOR NON-CONVEX POISSONIAN IMAGE RESTORATION MODEL

  • An image restoration problem with Poisson noise arises in many applications of medical imaging, astronomy, and microscopy. To overcome ill-posedness, Total Variation (TV) model is commonly used owing to edge preserving property. Since staircase artifacts are observed in restored smooth regions, higher-order TV regularization is introduced. However, sharpness of edges in the image is also attenuated. To compromise benefits of TV and higher-order TV, the weighted sum of the non-convex TV and non-convex higher order TV is used as a regularizer in the proposed variational model. The proposed model is non-convex and non-smooth, and so it is very challenging to solve the model. We propose an iterative reweighted algorithm with the proximal linearized alternating direction method of multipliers to solve the proposed model and study convergence properties of the algorithm.

  • This paper presents a method to segment semiconductor wafer ID on poor quality images. The method is based on multiple templates and normalized gray-level correlation (NGC) method. If the lighting condition is not so good and hence, we can not control the image quality, target image to be inspected presents poor quality ID and it is not easy to identify and then recognize the ID characters. Conventional several method to segment the interesting ID regions fails on the bad quality images. In this paper, we propose a multiple template method, which uses combinational relation of multiple templates from model templates to match several characters of the inspection images. To find out the optimal solution of multiple template model in ID regions, we introduce newly-developed snake algorithm. Experimental results using images from real FA environment are presented.

2D Microwave Image Reconstruction of Breast Cancer Detector Using a Simplex Method and Method of Moments

  • This paper presents a tumor detection system for breast cancer that utilizes two-dimensional (2D) image reconstruction with microwave tomographic imaging. The breast cancer detection system under development consists of 16 transmit/receive antennas, and the microwave tomography system operates at 900 MHz. To solve a 2D inverse scattering problem, the method of moments (MoM) is employed for forward problem solving, and the simplex method employed as an optimization algorithm. The results of the reconstructed image show that the method accurately shows the position of a breast tumor.

비전 기반 움직임 영역 탐지를 이용한 전차 승무원 보호 시스템 개발 (Development of a Tank Crew Protection System Using Moving Object Area Detection from Vision based)

  • This paper describes the system for detecting the tank crew's(loader's) hand, arm, head and the upper half of the body in a danger area between the turret ceiling and the upper breech mechanism by computer vision-based method. This system informs danger of pressed to death to gunner and commander for the safety of operating mission. The camera mounted ort the top portion of the turret ceiling. The system sets search moving object from this image and detects by using change of image, laplacian operator and clustering algorithm in this area. It alarms the tank crews when it's judged that dangerous situation for operating mission. The result In this experiment shows that the detection rate maintains in $81{\sim}98$ percents.

LACBED 패턴으로부터 전자현미경 상에 대한 회절도형의 회전각을 측정하는 간단한 방법 (A Simple Method to Determination the Rotation Angle Between an Image and its Diffraction Pattern with LACBED Patterns)

  • 투과식 전자현미경에서 상과 그 회절패턴은 현미경의 자기렌즈 작용에 의하여 상오 회전되어 나타난다. 이 회전각의 측정 결정은 결정 시료의 결함 관찰 분석에서 중요하다. 이 회전각 측정에 대해 잘 알려진 방법은 $MoO_3$의 분말 결정을 이용하는 것이다. 그러나 이 방법에는 측정된 각에 항상 $180^{\circ}$의 불확실성이 따른다. 따라서 이 불확실성을 제거하기 위한 또 다른 방안이 강구되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 결정시료의 LACBED 패턴을 얻는 과정을 통해 간단하게 이 회전각을 측정하는 새로운 방법을 제시한다. 이 방법은 특정 결정을 필요로 하지 않는다. 이 방법을 통해 JEM 2010 TEM에서 상(image)과 그 회절패턴의 회전각은 $180^{\circ}$로 측정되었고, 이 각은 확대 배율이나 카메라 길이의 변화에도 변하지 않음이 관찰되었다.

두 개 산소 가교형 몰리브덴(V)착물의 합성과 그 성질에 관한 연구 (Synthesis and Characterization of a $Di-{\mu}-oxo-bridged$ Molybdeum(V) Complexes)

  • The Mo(V) $di-{\mu}-oxo$ type $[Mo_2O_4(H_2O)_2L]Cl_2$ complexes(L: 4,4'-Diphenyl-2,2'-dipyridyl, 4,4'-Dimethyl-2,2'-dipyridyl, 4,7-Diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline) have been prepared by the reaction of $[Mo_2O_4(H_2O)_6]^{2+}$ with a series of chelate ligands. These complexes are completed by two terminal oxygens arranged trans to one another and each ligand forms a chelate types. In $Mo_2O_4(H_2O)_2L$ two $H_2O$ coordinated at trans site of terminal oxgens. The prepared complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectra, electronic spectra, $^1H$ nuclear magnetic resonance spectra, and thermal analysis(TG-DTA). In the potential range -0.00V to -1.00V at scan rate of $50mVs^{-1}$, a cathodic peak at -0.83V ${\sim}$ -0.88V (vs SCE) and an anodic peak at -0.54V ${\sim}$ -0.88V (vs SCE) have been observed in aquous solution. The ratio of the cathodic to anodic current(Ipc/Ipa) is almost 2, we infer that redox is irreversible as dimer forms broken.
