웨어러블 기기 응용을 위한 플렉서블 무선 전력 수신 시스템 (Wireless Power Receiving System Implemented on a Flexible Substrate for Wearable Device Applications)

  • In this paper, a flexible wireless power receiving system is proposed for wearable device applications. The proposed system is designed with printable component configuration to be integrable to textile material. While the defected ground structures(DGSs) are utilized for planar printable filter designs, direct impedance matching technique is considered for flexible circuit performance. The proposed system has been implemented on a flexible substrate with a thickness of 5 mils, and experimented for power conversion efficiencies and converted voltages. In order to evaluate the hardware flexibility, the system performance are measured a bended circuit board at a radius of curvature of 5 cm. The system performance is analyzed for the degradation due to the curvature. The proposed system has shown the excellent capability of far-field wireless power transfer systems in flexible device environments.

실도로 주행 조건 기반의 자율주행자동차 고위험도 평가 시나리오 개발 및 검증에 관한 연구 (A Study on Development of High Risk Test Scenario and Evaluation from Field Driving Conditions for Autonomous Vehicle)

  • Currently, a lot of researches about high risk test scenarios for autonomous vehicle and advanced driver assistance systems have been carried out to evaluate driving safety. This study proposes new type of test scenario that evaluate the driving safety for autonomous vehicle by reconstructing accident database of national automotive sampling system crashworthiness data system (NASS-CDS). NASS-CDS has a lot of detailed accident data in real fields, but there is no data of accurate velocity in accident moments. So in order to propose scenario generation method from accident database, we try to reconstruct accident moment from accident sketch diagram. At the same step, we propose an accident of occurrence frequency which is based on accident codes and road shapes. The reconstruction paths from accident database are integrated into evaluation of simulation environment. Our proposed methods and processor are applied to MILS (Model In the Loop Simulation) and VILS (Vehicle In the Loop Simulation) test environments. In this paper, a reasonable method of accident reconstruction typology for autonomous vehicle evaluation of feasibility is proposed.

전기굴삭기 에너지 효율 향상을 위한 유압펌프-전동기 통합 제어 알고리즘 (Integrated Control Algorithm of Hydraulic Pump with Electric Motor to Improve Energy Efficiency of Electric Excavator)

  • 전기굴삭기는 배터리에 저장된 에너지로 전동기-유압펌프를 구동해서 유압 에너지를 생성하고 이를 작업에 활용한다. 기존 유압굴삭기의 유압펌프는 디젤 엔진의 운전 효율에 최적화된 레귤레이터에 의해 제어되고, 유압펌프 자체의 효율은 고려되지 않았다. 전기굴삭기는 배터리를 에너지원으로 사용하기 때문에 전동기의 효율뿐 아니라 유압펌프의 효율을 함께 고려한 제어가 요구된다. 통합 제어를 위해서 유압펌프와 전동기의 출력과 효율 특성을 분석하여 효율맵을 작성하였고, 이를 바탕으로 최적동작맵을 구성하고 통합 제어 알고리즘을 개발했다. 알고리즘의 효과를 확인하기 위해 전기굴삭기 MILS 를 구성해서 통합 제어 알고리즘을 적용했다. 굴삭기 작업 시뮬레이션 결과는 통합 제어 알고리즘이 시스템 효율을 향상 시켰음을 보여준다.

원전 기동시 2차측 수질 환경에서 SA106 Gr.B와 Alloy 690 재료에 미치는 고분자 아크릴산 농도 영향 (Effect of Polyacrylic Acid Concentrations to the SA106 Gr.B and Alloy 690 Materials at the Startup Environments of Secondary Water Chemistry of NPP System)

  • 원전 운전 중 2차계통 구성재료가 부식되어 철 산화물이 증기발생기 내부로 유입된다. 유입된 철산화물은 고온고압의 환경에서 침적되어 슬러지가 된다. 침적된 슬러지는 증기발생기 전열관 재료에 응력부식균열(SCC)을 일으키는 주원인으로 원전에서는 철 산화물의 유입을 최소화하기 위해 기동전 2차계통을 순환 세정하고 있다. 해외 원전에서는 고분자 아크릴산(Polyacrylic Acid)을 순환세정시 주입함으로써 2차계통 철 산화물 제거 효율을 높인 사례가 있었다. 이에 우리 원전에서도 기동전 순환세정시 고분자 아크릴산을 주입 적용하였다. 고분자 아크릴산 주입 전 필수적으로 이뤄져야할 연구는 고분자 아크릴산이 재료에 미치는 영향평가이다. 본 연구에서는 고분자 아크릴산 농도(1, 10, 100 ppm)에 따라 2차계통 구성재료인 SA106 Gr.B와 Alloy 690의 건전성에 미치는 영향를 수행하였다. 평가방법으로는 전기화학 분극실험, 시편을 침지시켜 실험 전, 후 무게 감량을 이용한 부식률 측정, 표면 상태분석등을 이용하여 종합적으로 평가하였다. 전기화학 분극실험과 부식률 측정결과, 고분자 아크릴산 농도가 높을수록 부식은 증가하였고 고분자 아크릴산 농도 100 ppm일 때 최대 부식률이 0.037 mils로 계산되었다. 이는 부식허용 기준치(5.8 mils)보다는 100배이상 낮았으며 표면분석 결과 고분자 아크릴산으로 인한 pitting 부식은 발생하지 않았다. 이와 같은 결과로 기동시 환경에서 고분자 아크릴산 농도 100 ppm까지는 재료 건전성에 미치는 영향은 거의 없는 것으로 판단된다.

연속용융 도금라인 용 고내침식 Fe계 합금 개발 (Development of High Erosion Resistant Fe-based Alloy for Continuous Hot Dipping Line)

  • In this study, the material used in the hot dip galvanizing equipment was poorly corrosion-resistant, so it was performed to solve the cost and time problems caused by equipment replacement. The theoretical calculation was performed using the DV-Xα method(Discrete Variational Local-density approximation method). The alloy (STS4XX series) of the equipment currently used has a martensite phase. Therefore, the theoretical calculation was performed by applying P4 / mmm, which is a tetragonal structure. The new alloy was chosen by designing theoretical values close to existing materials. Considering elements that contribute to corrosion, most have high prices. Therefore, the design was completed by adjusting the content using only the components of the reference material in the theoretical design. The final design alloys were chosen as D6 and D9. Designed D6 and D9 were dissolved and prepared using an induction furnace. After the heat treatment process was completed, the corrosion rate of the alloys was confirmed by using the potentiodynamic polarization test. The surface of the prepared alloys were processed horizontally and then polished to # 1200 using sand paper to perform potentiodynamic polarization test. Domestic products: 4.735 mpy (mils / year), D6: 0.9166 mpy, D9: 0.3372 mpy, alloys designed than domestic products had a lower corrosion rate. Therefore, the designed alloy was expected to have better erosion resistance.

Corrosion and Materials Selection for Bitumen with Heavy Naphthenic Acid in Canadian Oil Sands

  • Canada's oil sands contain one of the largest reserves of oil in the world. According to recent estimates, there are nearly 180 billion barrels of oil in the Canadian oil sands trapped in a complex mixture of sand, water and clay. More than 40 companies have been currently operating or developing oil sands facilities since the first production in 1967. The process of oil sands upgrading is similar with down stream refinery, but the corrosion environment in upgrading refinery is often more severe than in the refinery because of high chlorides, mineral contents, carbonic acid, heavy viscosity and fouling, higher naphthenic acid [$NA-R(CH_{2})nCOOH$], and greater sulfur contents. Naphthenic acid corrosion (NAC) which is one of the most critical corrosion issues in up & downstream refinery plants was observed for the first time in 1920's in refinery distillation processes of Rumania, Azerbaizan (Baku), Venezuela, and California. As a first API report, the 11th annual meeting stated sources and mechanism of NAC in early 1930's. API has been developing the risk base standards, such as API RP580, 571, and Publication 581 which are based on the worst NAC damage in the world since 2000. Nevertheless not only the NAC phenomena and control in Canadian sands oil process are not much widely known but also there are still no engineering guidances for the Canadian sands oil in API standards. This paper will give NAC phenomina and materials selection guidance against NA environment in Canadian oil sands upgrading processes.

Evaluating the Protective Effectiveness of Rubber Glove Materials Against Organic Solvents Upon Repeated Exposure and Decontamination

  • Background: Glove reuse poses risks, as chemicals can persist even after cleaning. Decontamination methods like thermal aeration, recommended by US OSHA, vary in effectiveness. Some studies show promising results, while others emphasize the importance of considering both permeation and tensile strength changes. This research advocates for informed glove reuse, emphasizing optimal thermal aeration temperatures and providing evidence to guide users in maintaining protection efficiency. Methods: The investigation evaluated Neoprene and Nitrile gloves (22 mils). Permeation tests with toluene and acetone adhered to American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) F739 standards. Decontamination optimization involved aeration at various temperatures. The experiment proceeded with a maximum of 22 re-exposure cycles. Tensile strength and elongation were assessed following ASTM D 412 protocols. Breakthrough time differences were statistically analyzed using t-test and ANOVA. Results: At room temperature, glove residuals decreased, and standardized breakthrough time (SBT)2 was significantly lower than SBT1, indicating reduced protection. Higher temperature decontamination accelerated residual removal, with ∆SBT (SBT2/SBT1) exceeding 100%, signifying restored protection. Tensile tests showed stable neoprene properties postdecontamination. Results underscore thermal aeration's efficacy for gloves reuse, emphasizing temperature's pivotal role. Findings recommend meticulous management strategies, especially post-breakthrough, to uphold glove-protective performance. Conclusions: Thermal aeration at 100℃ for 1 hour proves effective, restoring protection without compromising glove strength. The study, covering twenty cycles, suggests safe glove reuse with proper decontamination, reducing costs significantly. However, limitations in chemical-glove combinations and exclusive focus on specific gloves caution against broad generalization. The absence of regulatory directives on glove reuse highlight the importance of informed selection and rigorous decontamination validation for workplace safety practices.

공통 결함접지구조를 이용한 소형화된 저역통과여파기의 설계 (Design of A Miniaturized Low Pass Filter Using Common Defected Ground Structure)

  • 본 논문에서는 공통 결함접지구조(common defected ground structure, CDGS)를 이용한 초고주파 대역의 저역통과여파기(low pass filter, LPF) 소형화 설계에 대하여 기술한다. 기존의 연구에서는 표준형 LPF보다 약간 소형화된 DGS 적용의 LPF를 설계하는 방법을 제시하는데 그쳤으나, 본 논문에서는 공통 DGS 구조를 이용하여 종래의 회로보다 절반의 크기로 줄이는 방법을 제시한다. 공통 DGS는 양면의 마이크로스트립 전송선로의 공통 접지면에 구현된다. 본 논문에서는 예로써, 비유전율이 2.2이고 두께가 31mils인 유전체 기판을 이용하여 양면 마이크로스트립 전송선로 구조와 공통 DGS를 구성하고, 이를 활용하여 소형화된 LPF를 설계하고, 실제로 제작 및 측정하여 제안하는 방법의 타당성을 검증한다. 최종적으로 설계된, 공통 DGS를 지니는 LPF는 기존의 단층 구조에서 DGS를 지니는 LPF에 비하여 52.6%의 크기를 가지면서도, 측정된 성능은 반사계수가 -22dB 이하이고 삽입손실이 0.19dB 이하로 여전히 우수함을 보여준다.
