HPMC, MC, sodium alginate 등의 증점제가 밀가루 반죽의 레올로지 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of HPMC, MC, and Sodium Alginate on Rheological Properties of Flour Dough)

  • HPMC, MC, SA 등의 증점제를 밀가루 중량대비 0.5% 첨가한 밀가루 반죽의 레올로지를 조사하기 위하여 farinogram, alveogram, rapid visco analyzer, rheofermentometer 등을 분석 한 결과는 다음과 같다. Farinogram 시험에서 증점제 첨가로 흡수율, 반죽발전시간, 안정도, 약화도 등이 변화하였다. 흡수율은 HPMC가 $67.4{\pm}0.12%$로 가장 높았고, 반죽발전시간은 HPMC가 $8.2{\pm}1.04$분, 안정도는 HPMC가 $12.7{\pm}0.42$분, 약화도는 HPMC가 $7.9{\pm}1.3$분으로 가장 길었다. Alveogram 시험에서 P, G, P/L 모두 증가되었으나 L은 모두 감소하였다. W는 HPMC와 SA는 증가되었으나 MC는 감소되었다. Rapid visco analyzer 특성에서 초기호화온도는 HPMC와 SA는 낮아졌고, MC는 높아졌으나 그 차이는 크지 않았다 최고점도는 모두 높아졌고, 약화도는 모두 증가되었으며, 최종점도와 set back은 모두 낮아졌다. Rheofermentometer 시험에서 $H_m$은 HPMC가 가장 높았고, 총 부피는 SA가 가장 컸다.

Photocatalytic Degradation of Algae and its By-product using Rotating Photocatalytic Oxidation Disk Reactor

  • This study examined the special technique of photocatalytic degradation (RPODisk) for removal of taste and odor causing materials, algae, and algal toxin. The RPODisk was effective for removal of these troublesome contaminants. It outperformed the fixed media and the UV irradiation for geosmin removal. The RPODisk performance was comparable to the combination of the UV irradiation with TiO2. The RPODisk performance was affected by the rotating speed. The faster the speed was, the better the performance. The RPODisk was also effective for removal of algae and algal toxin. The algal activity reduced by 80% after 30 mins of the treatment. More toxic microcystin (MC)-LR was more difficult to remove than MC-RR. The times for 50% removal were 23.7 mins for MC-LR and 14.1 mins for MC-RR. Almost 100 mins of the contact time was required to completely remove MC-LR at the rotating speed of 260 rpm.

MPEG 비디오 스트림에 대한 MC-DCT 영역에서의 자막 처리 방법 (Caption Processing for MPEG Video Stream in MC-DCT Domain)

  • MPEG은 동영상 압축 규약의 하나로서 고화질을 유지하면서 높은 압축율을 제공하기 때문에 그 사용 범위가 점차로 넓어지고 있으며, 또한 이러한 이유로 인해서 MPEG 데이터에 대한 편집 시스템의 요구도 점차 증가되고 있다. 그러나 MPEG 스트림에 대한 편집은 대부분 공간 영역에서 수행되기 때문에 수행 시간이 오래 걸리고 화질이 저하된다는 단점을 안고 있다. 본 논문에서는 DC 이미지를 이용한 MC-DCT 영역에서의 자막 처리 방법을 제안함으로써 기존의 자막 처리 방법이 안고 있는 단점을 극복하도록 하였다. 제안한 방법에서는 MC-DCT 영역에서의 워터마크 삽입 방법[1]을 응용하여 화면 상태에 따라 자막의 세기를 조절함으로써 P, B 프레임의 처리 과정에서 발생하게 되는 화질 저하를 최소화하도록 하였다. 이러한 MC-DCT 영역에서의 자막 방법을 사용함으로써 기존의 자막 처리 방법 보다 약 4.9배 빠른 수행 속도를 얻을 수 있었으며, 화질 보존의 측면에서도 기존의 자막 처리 방법이 화면 전체에 대해서 화질 저하가 발생하는 반면 제안한 방법은 자막이 들어가는 부분에 대해서만 화질 저하가 발생하는 반면 제안한 방법은 자막이 들어가는 부분에 대해서만 화질 저하가 발생하였다. 이러한 방법을 MPEG 스트림에 대해서 사용하게 된다면, 소프트웨어만을 이용한 저가의 데스크 탑 환경에서도 효율적인 자막 처리가 가능하게 될 것이다.

Low-Power-Adaptive MC-CDMA Receiver Architecture

  • This paper proposes a novel concept of adjusting the hardware size in a multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) receiver in real time as per the channel parameters such as delay spread, signal-to-noise ratio, transmission rate, and Doppler frequency. The fast Fourier transform (FFT) or inverse FFT (IFFT) size in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)/MC-CDMA transceivers varies from 1024 points to 16 points. Two low-power reconfigurable radix-4 256-point FFT processor architectures are proposed that can also be dynamically configured as 64-point and 16-point as per the channel parameters to prove the concept. By tailoring the clock of the higher FFT stages for longer FFTs and switching to shorter FFTs from longer FFTs, significant power saving is achieved. In addition, two 256 sub-carrier MC-CDMA receiver architectures are proposed which can also be configured for 64 sub-carriers in real time to prove the feasibility of the concept over the whole receiver.

뇌졸중환자 평가를 위한 Chedoke-McMaster Stroke Assessment의 측정자간 신뢰도 (Inter-Rater Reliability of Chedoke-McMaster Stroke Assessment for Stroke Patients)

  • This study was performed to determine the inter-rater reliability of the Chedoke-McMaster Stroke Assessment translated in Korean. This measures the physical impairments and disabilities that impact on the lives of individuals with stroke. The purposes of this measure were 1) to stage motor recovery to classify individuals in terms of clinical characteristics, 2) to predict rehabilitation outcomes, and 3) to measure clinically important change in physical function. Twenty-two subjects from physical therapy unit were assessed by two physical therapists. The ratings were compared by Spearman's rank correlation The correlation between two raters ranged from 0.85 to 0.98. Inter-rater reliability coefficient for total scores ranged from 0.95 to 0.97. This study confirms that the Chedoke-McMaster Stroke Assessment yields reliable results.

Criticality benchmark of McCARD Monte Carlo code for light-water-reactor fuel in transportation and storage packages

  • In this paper, McCARD code was verified using various models listed in the NUREG/CR-6361 benchmark guide, which provides specifications for single pin-cells, single assemblies, and the whole core classified depending on the nuclear properties and structural characteristics. McCARD code was verified by comparing its results with those of SCALE code for single pin-cell and single assembly benchmark problems. The difference in the multiplication factor obtained through the two codes did not exceed 90 pcm. The benchmark guide treats a total of 173 whole core experiments. The experiments are categorized as simple lattices, separator plates, reflecting walls, reflecting walls and separator plates, burnable absorber fuel rods, water holes, poison rods, and borated moderator. As a result of numerical simulation using McCARD, the mean value of the multiplication factors is 1.00223 and the standard deviation of the multiplication factors is 285 pcm. The difference between the multiplication factors and the experimental value is in the range of -665 pcm to + 1609 pcm. In addition, statistics of results for experiments categorized by reactor shape, additional structure, burnable poison, etc., are detailed in the main text.

다발경화증의 진단: 2017 맥도널드진단기준 (Diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis: 2017 McDonald Diagnostic Criteria)

  • Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a diagnosis of exclusion and the lesions or objective findings should disseminate in space and time to diagnose MS. The diagnostic criteria of MS have continuously evolved overtime. The McDonald criteria were originally proposed in 2001, and the revised 2010 McDonald criteria have been used widely. Scientific advances in the past 7 years since 2010 induced the revised 2017 McDonald criteria. All revisions relied entirely on the available evidences, and not expert opinion. In this review, we will provide an overview of the way to diagnose MS and the 2017 McDonald criteria.

Development of an open-source GUI computer program for modelling irradiation of multi-segmented phantoms using grid-based system for PHITS

  • The Monte Carlo (MC) method has become an indispensable part of the nuclear radiation research field. Several widely used and well-known MC packages were developed for simulation of radiation transport and interaction with matter. All these MC packages require users to prepare an input script. The input script can become lengthy for complex models. The process of preparing these input scripts is time-consuming and error-prone. In the present work, we have developed an open-source GUI computer program for modelling radiation transport and interaction in multi-segmented slab phantoms using grid-based system for the widely used PHITS MC package. The developed tools would be useful for future users of PHITS MC package and particularly inexperienced users. The present program is distributed under GPL license and all users can freely download, modify and redistribute the program without any restrictions.

분수 개념과 알고리듬 지도 양상 비교: McLellan, MiC, 한국의 교재를 중심으로 (A Comparative Study on Didactical Aspects of Fraction Concept and Algorithm Appeared in the Textbook of McLellan, MiC, and Korea)

  • 이 논문에서는 세 종류의 초등 수학 교재-McLellan, MiC, 한국의 교재-의 분수 영역을 비교하여 여러 공통점과 차이점을 변별한 다음, 그들을 각 교재가 기초하고 있는 보다 일반적인 교수학에 비추어 평가하였다. McLellan의 교재(1902)는 Dewey의 경험주의 수학교육론을, MiC 교재(1997)는 Freudenthal의 현실주의 수학교육론을 기초로 삼고 있다. 연구를 통하여 도달한 결론은 세 교재 모두 분수의 현상학적 전모를 반영하지 못하고 있다는 사실이다. McLellan의 교재는 추상성이 높은 측정수 모델만을 배타적으로 채용한 결과 낮은 수준의 맥락을 도외시하게 되었고, MiC 교재는 낮은 수준의 현실맥락을 지나치게 중시한 결과 유리수에 근접한 높은 수준의 모델과 그 속에서의 형식화를 도외시하게 되었으며, 한국의 교재는 알고리듬의 형식화와 적용연습에 치우친 나머지 개념과 그것이 구현된 현실맥락을 소홀히 하고 있다. 이 논문의 세 교재에 대한 시각은 어느 하나가 다른 하나보다 우월하다거나 열등하다는 이분법이 아니라 통합적이고 상보적인 관점이었다. 차후에 개발되는 교재는 위의 세 교재의 장점을 모두 취하여 분수라는 단일체의 현상학적 전모를 드러낼 수 있어야 한다고 판단된다.

Nephron Heterogeneity of Renin Release in Rat Kidney Slices: Effects of L-Isoproterenol, Angiotensin II and TMB-8

  • In order to determine possible relationships between the renin-angiotensin system and nephron heterogeneity, we compared the response of renin release and the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) activity from different areas of the rat kidney. We used the renal cortical slices from the capsular surface to the juxtamedullary junction. Slices from outer one-third of the cortex were designated as outer cortical slices (OC), middle one-third as midcortical slices (MC), and inner one-third as inner cortical slices (IC). The renal renin content markedly decreased from OC and MC to IC. The basal lenin release was higher in OC than in MC or IC. On the contrary the percent change of renin release in response to L-isoproterenol was significantly higher in MC than in OC or IC. By TMB-8, the renin release in MC by $231{\pm}21%$ was higher than OC by $171{\pm}19%$ or IC by $$162{\pm}19. Angiotensin II suppressed renin release in OC and MC by $68{\pm}2,\;71{\pm}4%$ respectively, but only $40{\pm}7%$ in IC. The ACE activity was higher in IC than in OC, MC, medulla and papilla. The present data indicate that renin content and basal lenin release gradulally decreased from outer (OC) to inner (IC) cortex. The renin release in response to beta-adrenergic agonist, L-isoproterenol and intracellular calcium antagonist, TMB-8 were higher in MC than in OC and IC, but angiotensin II suppressed renin release less in IC than in OC and MC. It is suggested that juxtaglomerular cells of outer, mid-and inner cortices show a difference in renin release response to the stimuli.
