Experimental Validation of Butler's MBTI-based Gamification Framework (버틀러의 MBTI기반 게이미피케이션 프레임워크에 대한 실험적 검증)

  • Various tools and studies improving quality of gamification systems have been suggested. Among those tools and studies, Butler suggested the gamification framework, which shows the preference of different game mechanics, applying particular motivational and behavioral tendencies in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator(MBTI). The purpose of this paper is to validate if the preference of different game mechanics by MBTI personality types proposed by Butler would be existing. This study pointed out the problem of suggested gamification framework from butler through literature survey. Also, this study conducted statistical analyzation and survey to prove correlation between MBTI personality types and game mechanics. Through an experiment and analysis, this study proved that there is no correlation between MBTI personality types and preference of different game mechanics. The designer of gamification systems should consider that it is not effective to apply differential game mechanics by MBTI personality types. If need to design a gamification system, designer must consider game mechanics's characteristics in applied environmental condition.

개인의 성격유형이 ERP수용에 미치는 영향에 관한 탐색적 연구

  • 기업에서는 경쟁력을 강화하고 지속적인 경쟁우위를 확보하기 위한 수단으로 ERP시스템을 도입하여 활용하고 있는 추세이다. ERP시스템은 전체업무프로세스를 정보기술로 구현한 전사적인 통합솔루션이다. 이러한 ERP시스템 구축의 성공요인에 대해 많은 연구들이 진행되어 왔다. 그러나 대부분의 선행연구들은 기술적인 측면 등 외부적인 요인들을 강조하고 있으며, 내부적인 요인인 조직구성원들의 개인적인 성격유형이 ERP시스템의 정보기술을 수용하는데 미치는 영향에 대한 연구는 거의 이루어지지 않고 있다. 본 연구는 ERP시스템 구축의 성공요인으로 조직구성원들의 개인적인 성격유형을 탐색적으로 연구 하였다. ERP시스템 도입기업의 사용자들을 대상으로 MBTI 성격유형과 ERP시스템에 대한 정보기술 수용 정도를 설문을 통해 분석하였다. MBTI 성격유형은 Myers의 네 가지 성격유형으로 측정하고, ERP시스템의 정보기술수용에 대해서는 Davis의 TAM 모형을 이용하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 첫째, MBTI 성격유형과 ERP시스템의 정보기술수용과의 관련성 검증에서 MBTI 성격유형 중 외향형과 판단형인 경우에는 ERP시스템의 정보기술수용에 유의적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 감각형과 사고형인 경우에는 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, ERP시스템 관련 정보기술수용 검증에서는 선행연구들을 통해 검증된 바와 같이 ERP시스템에 대한 지각된 이용 용이성과 유용성, 활용의도 및 활용정도 간에 유의적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to correspond to four-elements in astrology theory, an intellectual from ancient times, that show personality temperament among MBTI, a representative personality type test in modern times, furthermore, by examining 16 personality type cards in tarot, a play culture and fortune telling culture in which the four-element theory is integrated in symbols, it is a comparative consideration that connects the characteristics of the character types contained in them to the 16 personality types of MBTI. The four preferred types of MBTI are Extravesion(E) and Introversion(I), Sensing(S) and Intuition(N), Thinking(T) and Feeling(F), Judgment(J) and Perception(P). Among them, Western four-elements were able to respond to Fire, Water, Air, and Earth in the order of NF(iNtuitive Feeling Type), SF(Sensory Feeling Type), NT(iNtuitive Thinking Type), and ST(Sensory Thinking Type). This is a result that can be derived by comparing individual personality theory and MBTI temperament theory among the symbols contained in ancient astrological theories. And the classification of boys, knights, queens, and kings in the four classes of person cards could be divided according to the MBTI attitude index. The boy showed an adaptive introvert using I and P, the knight showed an adaptive extrovert using E and P, the queen showed a decisive introvert using I and J, and the king showed an adaptive extrovert using E and J.

  • While machines can replace general industries, it is impossible to do so in service industries in which require various contacts with clients. As automated system would not work in service industries, it requires more of reliance to human resources than other industries. The services done here for customers are consequently reflected to the level of customers' satisfaction and business performance. Thus, highly qualified services are important factors for the success in the industry, but the problem here is that there is not enough care for employees providing those services. Therefore, this study analyzes employees' personalities and shows how those affect to job satisfaction and organizational commitment. It also aims at showing present problems in companies. MBTI, a test showing one's character, has been applied for the analysis, and surveys have been provided to employees to see how their personalities affect to job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Through this process, job satisfaction in accordance with one's character and organizational commitment is partially similar, and the hypothesis assuming that there is interrelationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment was proved.

  • 이 연구는 MBTI의 심리 기능지표 조합인 ST, SF, NT, NF의 유형별 특징을 반영한 마케팅 문체 프레임워크를 정의하고 모델 학습을 통해 성격유형별 맞춤화 된 광고 메시지로 생성하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 활용되는 광고 메시지 자동 생성 기술은 BART 모델에 성격유형을 Prefix로 포함한 광고문을 학습시켜 성격유형에 따라 맞춤형 광고 메시지를 생성하는 방식이다. 학습된 모델은 Prefix 조작만으로 MBTI 성격유형별 문체 특징을 갖춘 광고 메시지로 변환되는 것을 실험을 통해 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 성격유형의 특징을 문체 프레임워크로써 정의하고 이에 기반한 모델 학습을 통해 성격유형별 특징을 반영한 광고 메시지를 재현해 낼 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 또한 성격유형과 연관 feature를 함께 학습하여 유형별 문체 특징과 소구점을 포함한 광고 메시지를 생성했다는 기술적 가치가 있다. 이 연구 결과를 기반으로 차후 타겟 고객층의 성격유형과 광고 도메인을 고려한 효과적인 광고 콘텐츠를 생성해 내는 모델을 개발하여 타겟 마케팅 분야는 물론이고 지역별 또는 언어별 문체 간 차이를 구조화하거나 재현해야 하는 문제에서 기반이 되는 연구로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Correlation Between Web OPAC Use Patterns and MBTI Personality Types (Web OPAC 이용패턴과 MBTI 성격유형의 상관관계)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the correlation between users' preferences of Personality types and their attitude towards patterns of Web OPAC use mainly focus on their search behaviour and their preferences for the interface. Data res collected through the MBTI test and self-designed online questionnaire. The original MBTI personality types were re-coded into 4 categories of preferences of personality types, that is, E(Extraversion), I(Introversion), S(Sensing), N(iNtuition), T(Thinking)-F(Feeling), and J(Judging)-P(Perception) and then analysed their correlation with patterns of Web OPAC use by Person's correlation coefficient (r) in SPSS Windows Ver. 11.0. It is noteworthy that 9 out of 28 factors of Web OPAC search behaviour and preferences for interfaces show statistically significant correlation with users' MBTI preferences of personality types.

Perception of Professionalism by MBTI Personality Types of Infant Childcare Teachers (영아반 보육교사의 MBTI 성격유형에 따른 전문성에 대한 인식)

  • The purpose of current study was to investigate if there is a difference in perception of professionalism depending on MBTI personality types of infant childcare teachers. The subjects of present study were 350 infant childcare teachers. The results for each research question were as follows: First, when the relationship between MBTI personality types and perception of professionalism of infant childcare teachers was investigated, it was found that higher professionalism was evident when preference for judging(J) type of infant childcare teachers among MBTI personality types was stronger, and lower professionalism was evident if preference for perceiving (P) type was stronger. Second, the result of examining differences in perception of professionalism according to MBTI personality types of infant childcare teachers was that extrovert teachers had higher perception of professional knowledge and skills than introvert teachers and there was no difference in perception of professionalism between sensing and intuition types. Teachers of thinking type had higher perception about fairness and professional organizations than those of emotional type, and teachers of judging had higher perception about socio-economic status, community service, and professional knowledge and skills than those of perception. Based on this study result, discussion was made on the fact that provision of more proper role among child and infant classes may result in efficiency and emotional and professional support is necessary so that professionalism of infant childcare teachers may be heightened.

A Review of the Korean Nursing Research Literature with MBTI Personality and Nursing Students (국내 간호학생 성격관련 연구 문헌고찰 : MBTI를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the trends of research on MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) and nursing students, and to suggest directions for nursing education geared to the needs of the future. The literature was searched using the National Assembly Library, Korean Studies Information Service System, DBPIA, Korean Medical database and National Discovery for Science Library to identify studies including MBTI personalty among nursing students. This study selected a total of 22 precedent studies regarding the investigation of MBTI personalty and nursing students. All studies were quantitative study and 63.6% of them were nonexperimental cross-sectional study. The most frequently selected category of variables was cognitive-perceptual related variables includes self-efficacy, self-eseem, academic self efficacy and etc. The most frequent MBTI personality type of nursing students was ISTJ (12.3%) and ESTJ (11.5%) was the second. Based on the findings of this study, longitudinal reasearch is recommanded on MBTI personality type and nursing specialty choice. Implications for teaching and learning strategies, and for using the results of MBTI in nursing students' career guidence are discussed.

A Study on Cognitive Attitudes toward Death according to MBTI Personality Types (MBTI 성격유형에 따른 죽음 인지에 관한 탐색 연구)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate attitudes toward death according to personality types and to suggest the need to develop related hospice programs. Methods: Personality types were identified by the Korean version of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Form G. A questionnaire with 26 five-point Likert items was used to survey participants' attitudes toward death. Results: The ESFP personality type was most common (20%) among available 100 participants. Significant differences were observed in the attitudes towards death preparation according to personality type s. Participants with personality preference types E, T and J showed positive attitudes (P<0.05) toward death, but no significant differences were shown based on the SN index. Conclusion: The attitudes toward death differed by personality types. Therefore, this study points to the need to develop diverse hospice programs based on the personality types.

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of simulation integrated with problem based learning in terms of critical thinking, problem solving, learning motivation according to Myers-Briggs type indicator(MBTI) personality type in advanced nursing course students. This study was a non-equivalent control posttest only design. Students were all enrolled in advanced nursing course which included 1) 6 weeks problem based learning 2) 5 weeks simulation integrated with PBL and debriefing. Total 19 students' data were collected and analyzed on SPSS win 21.0. The results showed students who have out patients working experience were significantly higher learning motivation(${\chi}^2=9.85$, p=.044), no experienced simulation were significantly higher critical thinking(${\chi}^2=4.44$, p=.035) and as temperament of MBTI, NT types were significantly higher on critical thinking(${\chi}^2=8.53$, p=.036). Students show various personality types and it might be impact on attitudes of learning and the results. Thus we need to understand their diversity and consider it to apply teaching methods on nursing education.
