The purpose of this paper is to investigate the phonetic characteristics of the 'focus' phrases associated with the particle '-man' in Korean. The particle '-man' is a bound morpheme which, like other postpositions such as the subject marker '-ka' and the object marker '-lil', the so-called 'case markers' in Korean, typically attaches to a noun (phrase). The semantics of '-man' roughly corresponds to that of only, its counterpart in English, and is thus classified as a 'delimiter' (Yang 1973). It is assumed in this paper that '-man', like only in English, should have a 'focus' associated with it (von Stechow 1991, Rooth 1992). In general, '-man' attached phrases get the focus, but sometimes the association is not clear-cut, especially in the cases of emphatic use of '-man' or when the context strongly favors other phrase as the focus (Choe 1996). In this paper, we compare the phonetic characteristics of the '-man' marked phrases with those to which '-ka'/'-lil' is attached, and conclude that the focused '-man' phrases show higher fundamental frequencies than their equally focused 'case' -marked counterparts. However, when the context clearly forces the focus to fall on phrases other than the '-man' or '-ka'/'-lil' attached ones, there is no meaningful difference in fundamental frequency between the '-man' and '-ka'/'-lil' attached phrases. We also compare the phonetic characteristics of the regular use of '-man' with those of the emphatic '-man'. According to our experiments, the emphatic '-man' does not bring forth its phonetic effects, namely, higher fundamental frequencies, on the' -man' attached words or phrases but rather in various other ways such as higher fundamental frequencies in '-man', lengthening of the following word-initial syllable, or the inclusion of the following word in the same accentual phrase. Finally, it is claimed that '-man' associated focus phenomena, especially the emphatic use of '-man', show some typical acoustic characteristics of the other well-known focus phenomena, namely, wh-interrogatives.

여러 종류의 mannanase를 생산하는 Cellulosimicrobium sp. YB-43으로부터 mannanase B를 암호하는 manB 유전자와 효소의 특성이 보고된 바 있다. Mannanase C (ManC)로 명명한 효소의 유전자가 manB 유전자의 하류에 위치한 것으로 예상되어 이를 중합효소 연쇄반응으로 클로닝하여 manC 유전자의 염기서열을 결정하였다. ManC는 448 아미노산 잔기로 구성된 것으로 확인되었으며 glycosyl hydrolase family 5에 속하는 mannanase와 상동성이 높은 활성영역과 탄수화물 결합영역(CBM2)이 존재하였다. ManC의 활성영역은 Streptomyces sp. SirexAA-E (55.8%; 4FK9_A) 및 S. thermoluteus (57.6%; BAM62868)의 mannanase와 아미노산 배열의 상동성이 55% 이상으로 가장 높았다. Signal peptide 영역이 제거되고 카르복실 말단에 hexahistidine이 연결되도록 제조한 His-tagged ManC (HtManC)의 유전자를 재조합 대장균에서 발현하여 균체 파쇄액으로부터 HtManC를 정제하였다. HtManC은 $65^{\circ}C$와 pH 7.5에서 최대 활성을 보였으며 pH 7.5~10범위에서 활성에 큰 변화가 없었다. HtManC는 locust bean gum (LBG)과 konjac에 대한 분해 활성이 guar gum과 ivory nut mannan (ivory nut)에 비해 높았다. 최적 반응조건에서 LBG를 기질로 하여 반응 동력학적 계수를 측정한 결과 Vmax와 Km이 68 U/mg과 0.45 mg/ml로 나타났다. HtManC에 의한 만노올리고당(MOS)과 mannan의 분해산물을 TLC로 관찰한 결과 mannobiose 보다 중합도가 큰MOS로부터 mannobiose와 mannotriose가 주된 분해산물로 생성되었다. 또한 LBG, konjac과 ivory nut의 분해산물로 mannobiose와 소량이 mannose가 공통적으로 관찰되었다.

The purpose of this study is to find out the factors that explain the sense of touch and preference of man-made leather. Date base of descriptors for man-made leather was collected by interviewing 50 consumers, 33 different kinds of commercial man-made leathers(synthetic leather and artificial leather) were assessed subjectively by 605 consumers using the 9-point scale of 34 pairs of bipolar descriptors based on the data base. Subjective ratings were analyzed by principal axis factoring with varimax rota-tion. The sense of touch of man-made leather is explained by five factors ; surface property stretchiness thickness& weight thermal property(warmth & coolness) and moisture property (sticky & clingy). The difference in the sense of touch of man-made leathers is mainly attributable to surface property and stretchiness. And the preference of man-made leathers is mainly attributable to surface property and stretchiness. And the preference of man-made leather is explained by three factors ; surface property stretchiness and quality. Higher preference is found in man-mad leather of better quality touch and softness.

우리나라의 전통 발효 된장으로부터 균체외 효소로 mannanase를 생산하는 세균 2주가 분리되었다. 분리균 WL-6과 WL-11은 형태적 특성, 생화학적 성질 및 16S rDNA의 염기서열에 따라 Bacillus subtilis로 확인되었다. 이들 두 균주로부터 각각 mannanase 유전자를 대장균에 클로닝하여 염기서열을 결정한 결과 mannanase 유전자는 362 아미노산으로 구성된 단백질을 코드하며 1,086 뉴클레오티드로 동일하게 이루어졌다. WL-6과 WL-11 mannanase (Man6, Man11)의 아미노산 잔기 배열은 서로 8개 잔기가 다르며 GH family 26에 속하는 B. subtilis의 mannanases와 매우 상동성이 높았다. Man6과 Man11의 아미노 말단의 26개 아미노 잔기가 signal peptide로 예측되었다. 재조합 대장균로부터 각각 생산된 Man6과 Man11은 94~95% 정도가 균체내에 존재하였고, mannotriose, mannotetraose, mannopentaose, mannohexaose와 같은 만노올리고당과 locust bean gum을 유사하게 분해하여 주된 반응산물로 mannobiose와 mannotriose를 생성하였다. Man6는 55℃와 pH 6.0, Man11은 60℃와 pH 5.5에서 각각 최대 반응활성을 보였으며, Man11이 Man6에 비해 열안정성이 높았다.

Mortierella sp. 유래 효소 정제는 CM-sephadex C-50 column chromatography와 Sephadex G-100 column에 의해 수행하여 SDS-전기영동에서 단일밴드를 확인하였고 분자량은 57kDa로 결정되었다. melibiose, raffinose 및 stachyose의 세 종류의 기질에 대한 특이성에서는 Mortierella sp. 유래 정제 ${\alpha}$-galactosidase는 세 종류 기질의 비환원말단에 위치하고 있는 galactose를 모두 유리하는 특이성이 있음을 확인하였다. Bacillus sp. 유래의 $Gal^3Man_4$에 대해서 반응초기 3시간부터 가수분해가 진행되어 반응말기에서는 galactose, mannotetraose 그리고 분해되지 않고 일부 남아있는 $Gal^3Man_4$의 spot이 출현된 반면, 중합도 7의 $Gal^{2,3}Man_5$에 대해서는 반응초기부터 말기까지 전혀 특이성이 없음을 시사하였다. Trichoderma harzianum 유래의 $Gal^2Man_3$에 대해서는 반응초기 3시간부터 가수분해가 진행되어 일부 galactose와 mannotriose spot이 출현되고 있는 반면, 중합도 7의 $Gal^2Man_6$에 대해서는 Bacillus sp. 유래의 중합도 7의 $Gal^{2,3}Man_5$와 동일하게 galactose를 절단하는 능력이 없는 특이성을 보이고 있다. Xylogone sphaerospora 유래의 $Gal^2Man_3$는 Trichoderma harzianum 유래의 중합도 4와 동일한 구조로서 가수분해 시간 경과에 따른 반응말기에서 역시 galactose, mannotriose 및 잔존하는 $Gal^2Man_3$ spot이 출현하고 있는 반면 중합도 6인 $Gal^2Man_5$에 대해서는 mannopentaose의 환원말단부터 2번 mannose에 결합하고 있는 galactose에 대해서는 역시 특이성을 나타내지 않아 반응 초기부터 말기까지 가수분해 pattern에 대한 변화를 보이지 않고 있다.

The purpose of this study is to examine men's role conflicts of dual-earner family based on man's role type. Man's role type is composed of man's sex role attitude and family-role performance and categorized in four types such as traditionalism type neo-traditionalism type equalitarianism type and inconsistancy type. The test analysis can be summarized as follows; First test analysis can be summarized as follows; role performance and man's role conflict as working hours is long wife's role requirement is high family-role conflict as working hours is long wife's role requirement is high family-role is not commit man's role conflict directly affected. In addition indirect affect through family-role performance shows that man's role conflict level is low as level of income is high level of income difference between man and wife is low child is younger and intent to modern sex-role attitude. Second looking into the difference role conflict to man's role type it shows that equalita ianism type's role conflict is low and man's role conflict in traditionalism and neo-traditonalism types is high.

Man-Byeong-Hoi-Chun(萬病回春) is a representative writing of Gong Zhongxian. It was generally used by Koreans in Joseon(朝鮮) era and issued many times in the latter period of Joseon dynasty. We investigated the Jeung-Bo-Man-Byeong-Hoi-Chun (增補萬病回春, An enlarged edition of the Man-Byeong-Hoi-Chun), which is published in the 17th century, coming to a conclusion like the followings. 1. In Joseon(朝鮮), there was the J eung-Bo-Man-Byeong-Hoi-Chun which was made through revision and enlargement of the Man-Byeong-Hoi-Chun written by Gong Zhongxian of China. 2. There are two versions of the Jeung-Bo-Man-Byeong-Hoi-Chun pressed in Joseon, which are written by Kim Yuk(金堉) in 1656 and by Kim Seok-ju(金錫胄) in 1679. 3. The representative medical books of Joseon such as Eui-Rim-Chual-Yo-Sok-J ip (醫林撮要續集), Dong-Eui-Bo-Gam (東醫寶鑑), J e-Jung-Sin-Pyeon(濟衆新編) contained quotations from the J eung-Bo-Man-Byeong-Hoi-Chun(增補萬病回春), not from the Man-Byeong-Hoi-Chun (萬病回春). 4. The Jeung-Bo-Man-Byeong-Hoi-Chun(增補萬病回春) contained not only the essence of the Chinese medicine but also new medical systems reflecting actual circumstances of Joseon at that time. So, it can be recognized as the foundation of the Joseon medicine in the latter period of the dynasty.

The purpose of a man-machine chart is improved utilization of a man or a machine. Improved utilization can mean less idle time, rebalanced idle time, or less idle time of an excessive component. In this study we improved the productivity of the assembly line in the electronics company using man-machine chart. The results are applicable for improving the effectiveness of line balancing problems in the electronics industry.

이 글은 홉스의 <인간론>와 <시민론>을 중심으로 그의 인간관과 국가관을 기존의 많은 견해와 달리 해석해볼만한 가능성을 모색한다. 홉스의 인간관과 국가관에 대한 기존의 견해는 인간의 본성은 이기적이므로 자연상태에서는 만인에 대한 만인의 투쟁이 있을 뿐이라는 것이다. 인간의 이런 이기적 성향을 억제하기 위해 각 개인은 상호간의 계약을 통해 국가를 수립하여, 자신을 국가권력(통치권/주권)에 절대적으로 복종시킴으로써 자기를 보존한다는 것이다. 이런 입장에서는 국가가 개인에 대해 절대적 우위를 차지하며 개인의 자유와 자율성을 억압하는 것으로 보일 수도 있다. 이와 달리 이 논문은 모든 인간의 본성이 이기적인 것이 아니라 이기적인 인간도 있다는 것을 밝힌다. 국가가 각 개인을 억압하는 것이 아니라 국가권력을 통해 이기적인 인간의 공격성을 통제함으로써 개인의 안전과 평화에 대한 '희망'을 제공하는 기능을 갖는다고 파악한다. 따라서 개인은 이 희망을 보장받지 못한다면, 국가권력에 복종할 필요나 의무가 상실된다. 오히려 희망을 보장받지 못하면 국가권력은 국가권력이 아니라 적의 무력일 뿐이므로 자연법에 따라 다시 전쟁상태로 환원되어 적과 전쟁할 수도 있다고 본다. 여기서 홉스가 국가를 '사멸적 신'이라고 한 의미를 파악할 수 있다.
