  • This paper examined the structure, fire resistance of brass fittings type CSST employed in gas appliances and the reliability verification. Brass fittings of type CSST consisted of cladding, tubing, nut, clamp ring, socket, and ball valve. The applicable JIA standard regulates the maximum working pressure to be 4.2 kPa, which is the highest pressure of the relevant standards and the KS D 3625 stipulates the maximum pressure to be 3.24 kPa. With a normal product, the average resistance within the confidence interval was found to be $7.36m{\Omega}$. The average resistance within the confidence interval was $6.67m{\Omega}$ after the fire resistance tests. The analysis indicated that the AD was 1.584 and the standard deviation was 0.3972 with respect of a normal product. Compared to the normal product, however, the damaged product after the fire resistance test showed better features, such as an AD of 1.145 and a standard deviation of 0.2467. Moreover, the average resistance of the normal product was $7.359m{\Omega}$ and the standard deviation in histogram analysis was 0.3972. The average resistance of the damaged product after the fire resistance test in the histogram was $6.67m{\Omega}$ and the standard deviation was 0.2467.

  • We have isolated previously three synthetic lethal mutants in Schizosaccharomyces pombe, which genetically interact with mex67, in order to identify the genes involved in mRNA export. A novel nup97 gene was isolated by complementation of the growth defect in one of the synthetic lethal mutants, SLMex3. The nup97 gene contains one intron and encodes an 851 amino-acid protein that is similar to nucleoporins, Nppl06p in S. pombe and Nic96p in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The nup97 gene is essential for vegetative growth, and nup97 null mutant harboring pREP41X-Nup97 showed $poly(A)^+$ RNA export defect when expression of nup97 is repressed in the presence of thiamine. These results suggest that nup97 is involved in mRNA export from the nucleus to cytoplasm.

  • In this paper, I compared some characteristics between HPA and LPA using Feedforward method. Feedforward method is known for best IMD correction. HPA generated 46.5㏈c at 45.5㏈m output power. But, using feedforward linearing method, I could improve IMD to 67.17㏈c at the same output power. IMD could be improved 20.67㏈ at 45.5㏈m output power. I measured average power, IMD, total current, and efficiency of two amplifier at many different power levels. I could get about 70d3c IMD using feedforward method.

  • CulnSe2 single crystals were grown by the Bridgman method. The n.CulnSe2 single cry seals with a carrier concentration of 2.6$\times$1016/㎤ were obtained by a thermal treatment of the grown CulnSe2 single crystals in selenium atmosphere. The solar cell of n.CulnSe2-3M KOH+3M Na2 S+4M S junction was prepared by using n.Culnsel single crystal as a photoanode, 3M KOH+SM Nat S+4M S as Polysulfide solutions. The FF of the solar cell was 0.44 under 100 mW/cml illumination condition, and the conversion efficiency was 5.67%.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the potential of Nelumbo nucifera G. leaf (NNL) extract as a cosmetic additive. The electron-donating ability of the NNL extract at a concentration of 1,000 μg/ml was 67.83%. In xanthine oxidase, the inhibition effect of the NNL extract was 92.7% at the same concentration. For whitening effects, tyrosinase inhibition effect of NNL extract was 42.7% at a 1,000 μg/ml concentration. The cell toxicity of the NNL extract was examined in melanoma cells (B16F10) using a 3-[4, 5–dimethyl–thiazol–2–yl]-2, 5-diphenyl-tetrazoliumbromide (MTT) assay. The cell toxicity assay revealed that the NNL extract had a toxicity of 81.61% at a concentration of 1,000 μg/ml The microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF), tyrosinase related protein-1 (TRP-1), tyrosinase related protein-2 (TRP-2), and tyrosinase protein expression inhibitory effect by Western blot of NNL extract were measured by a Western blot at concentrations of 25, 50, and 100 μg/ml. At a 100 μg/ml concentration of the NNL extract, the expression of the MITF, TRP-1, TRP-2, and tyrosinase protein was decreased by 69.59%, 27.74%, 67.33%, and 67.78% respectively. The MITF, TRP-1, TRP-2 and tyrosinase mRNA expression inhibitory effect were measured by reverse transcription- polymerase chain reaction (PCR) at concentrations of 25, 50, and 100 μg/ml. GAPDH was used as a positive control. At a concentration of 100 μg/ml of the NNL extract, the expression of MITF, TRP-1, TRP-2, and tyrosinase mRNA was decreased by 67.51%, 71.36%, 85.74%, and 83.64%, respectively. These findings suggest that the NNL extract has antioxidant and whitening effects and that it has great potential as a cosmetic ingredient.
