  • This paper deals with control system design strategy for electrolmaginetic suspension (E.M.S.) system. For a successful control of E.M.S. system, the nature of E.M.S. system is deeply studied in the view point of non-linear, open-loop unstable, time-varying, non-minimum phase system. To find a special control treatment for E.M.S. system, analyses and simulations for various models are carried out. As one of the successful candidates, adaptive control concept is introduced and sample hardware system using digital signal processor is implemented.

  • This study is conducted to improve the manufacturing process of the modular construction method, which is a pre-fabricated construction method recognized for its advantage on the shortening of construction time. This study first identified the factors that result in shortening of pre-fabrication processes in the current module-processing factory. In addition, those identified factors were further considered for installing the M.E.P. system that is being outsourced on the main module in the production line. A manufacturing process of the construction modules, which considers installation of a M.E.P. system most suitable for shortening the time on the outsourcing of modular construction, is introduced throughout the research. Furthermore, this study suggests the factors in need of improvement during design phase of modular construction and improvement measures to consider the quality of unit modules by focusing on the module parts that are most exposed to defects.

Design and Evaluation of a Microcomputer-based Vacuum Drying System for Shiitake Mushrooms (마이크로컴퓨터 시스템을 이용한 표고버섯의 감압건조에 대한 연구)

  • Strain gauges attached on the Bourdon tube and load cell were used as the sensors for measuring the vacuum pressure in drying chamber and the weight loss of Shiitake mushrooms respectively. The vacuum drying system was interfaced further with the Bear II microcomputer. The interface devices used were built with such IC chips as MC 6821, ADC 0809, SN 74244 and SN 7424. The relationship between readings of vacuum gauge (P, mmHg) and digital outputs (D) from the microcomputer was represented by P =3.08 D-13.4875(r=0.9999). The weights of drying sample (W) were also related with the digital outputs (D) by W=0.4076 D-6.4762 (r=0.9999). During the vacuum drying of Shiitake mushrooms. the data on pressure and weight were recorded at regular intervals using an acquisition program on the microcomputer system. The Page model was fitted well to the drying data of Shiitake mushrooms. resulting in the following empirical equations : $(M-M_e)/(M_o-M_e)=\exp(-0.1569t^{1.0048})$ at 400 mm Hg up to 14 hours and $(M-M_e)/(M_o-M_e)=\exp(-0.1385_t^{1.2688})$ at 600 mm Hg up to 8 hours.

  • 본 논문에서는 이동통신 시스템에서 성능 열화의 주요 원인인 주파수 선택성 페이딩과 전자기기에서 발생하는 임펄간 간섭 환경에서 DS/CDMA 시스템의 성능 개선을 정량적으로 분석하였다 시스템으로 고려한 변식은 비동기식 MFSK와 MDPSK를 이용한 MFSK-MBPSK 결합변조 방식이다. 분석 결과, 선택성 페이딩에서 합성변조 시스템에 대하여 E$_{b}$/Nn$_{o}$ =20일 때를 기준으로 한 경우, M$_{f}$ =4, M$_{p}$=2인 경우가 가장 성능이 좋았으며, 그 다음으로 M$_{f}$ =2, M$_{p}$=4인 경우, 그리고 M$_{f}$ =4, M$_{p}$=4인 순서대로 오율 성능이 좋았다. 그리고 MRC 다이버시티 기법 및 부호화 기법을 채용한 경우 효과적으로 시스템 성능의 열화를 보상할 수 있었다. 또한, 합성변조기법을 사용함으로써 강한 임펄스 환경에서도 만족할 만한 시스템 성능을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • This paper describes first Boxes algorithm as a good method to generate the pulse patterns for a pulse width modulated inverter which has a good characteristics and simple to excute. Second we present the motor analysis fed by P.W.M. inverter in steady-state operation. In this analysis we improve the MRF ( Multiple Reference Frames ) to can be easy apply to analyse all the induction motor parameters. Finally we presented all the results obtained for a 3-phase induction motor.

  • A method of analysis of the steady-state performance of induction motor with supply voltage controlled by cyclically-triggered inline thyristors is presented. Phase-variable model and asymmetrical components are not used in this analysis. Instead, Fast Fourier Transform technique and the method of multiple reference frames are employed to obtain the constant-speed performance of I.M. easily.

  • Candida Antarctica lipase A (CalA) has been used because of its suitability in industrial applications. CalA has unique features capable to accept tertiary and sterically hindered alcohols among many hydrolases. CalA gene was cloned and constructed in expression vector such as pColdIII/CalA and $pPICZ{\alpha}A$/CalA. The gene encoding pColdIII/CalA was functionally expressed in the cytoplasm of Escherichia coli $Origami^{TM}$ B (DE3) cells. The plasmid $pPICZ{\alpha}A$/CalA linearized by BstX I was integrated into 5'AOX1 region of the chromosomal DNA and was functionally expressed in the methyl atrophic yeast Pichia pastoris. Expressed CalA in P. pastoris (0.7 Unit/mL) showed 35 times higher activity than that in E. coli expression system (0.02 Unit/mL).

Microcomputer Based Vacuum Drying System and its Application to the Vacuum Drying of Green Red Pepper (마이크로컴퓨터 감압건조(減壓乾燥)시스템의 제작운영(製作運營)과 풋고추의 감압건조특성(減壓乾燥特性))

  • In Girder to measure the pressure and weight decrease of drying sample during the vacuum drying process of food, sensing devices were designed and constructed with strain gauge. Microcomputer based vacuum drying system was made up of these devices interfaced to apple II microcomputer. The electrical output signal from vacuum sensor which constituted with Bourdon tube whereon strain gauge attached were digitalized and input to microcomputer through the MC 6821 interface I.C. chip. The relationship between read-out digital value (D) from microcomputer and readings of vacuum gauge (P, mmHg) was P=-146.136+3.620D'(r=0.9994) The pressure control of vacuum dryer was successfully conducted in the range of $400{\sim}600\;mmHg$ accuracy. The digitalized load cell output (D) could be correlated with the real weight (W, g) as W=-14,000+0.585D (r=0.9998) Drying curves of green red pepper under $64^{\circ}C$, $400{\sim}600\;mmHg$ was similar to those of red pepper and differently affected by the degree of vacuum pressure but was varied according to their shape (cut or whole). Moisture movement of green red pepper during the vacuum drying process was fitted to Page model. The empirical equations obtained were $M-M_e/M_o-M_e={\exp}\;(-0.0673{\theta}^{1.177})$ and $M-M_e/M_o-M_e={\exp}\;(-0.0655\;{\theta}^{1.477})$ for whole and cut green red pepper, respectively.

Establishment of an In Vitro TCD (Testosterone Compound Detection) System (테스토스테론 물질 검출을 위한 in vitro TCD 시스템 구축)

  • Although there is a growing interest in male menopause, a phenomenon associated with male hormone depletion, current kits using antibodies to quantify male hormones are expensive. In this study, we constructed an in vitro system for verifying the activity or concentration of male steroid hormones using a transcriptional activity test. A reporter plasmid, pGL2-Neo-ARE-AdE1BTATA, which reacts to testosterone, was constructed. In this plasmid, the ARE-AdE1bTATA sequences can be bounded by the testosterone - androgen receptor complex to express luciferase as a reporter. Then, a stable transfection was performed on the human prostate cancer cell line, LNcap-LN3. The constructed LNcap-LN3/pGL2-Neo-ARE-AdE1BTATA testosterone compound detection (TCD) system showed quantitatively proportional luciferase activities to concentrations of $10^{-13}$ to $10^{-8}M$ of standard testosterone. The established in vitro TCD system will contribute to the development of materials for health/functional foods and drugs as it will be possible to search en masse for testosterone-like or testosterone-inhibiting substances derived from natural materials.
