DC and RF Characteristics of 100-nm mHEMT Devices Fabricated with a Two-Step Gate Recess (2단계 게이트 리세스 방법으로 제작한 100 nm mHEMT 소자의 DC 및 RF 특성)

  • A 100-nm gate-length metamorphic high electron mobility transistor(mHEMT) with a T-shaped gate was fabricated using a two-step gate recess and characterized for DC and microwave performance. The mHEMT device exhibited DC output characteristics having drain current($I_{dss}$), an extrinsic transconductance($g_m$) of 1,090 mS/mm and a threshold voltage($V_{th}$) of -0.65 V. The $f_T$ and $f_{max}$ obtained for the 100-nm mHEMT device were 190 and 260 GHz, respectively. The developed mHEMT will be applied in fabricating W-band monolithic microwave integrated circuits(MMICs).

Analysis of Keyword Trend for ICT Convergence Services (ICT 융합 서비스의 키워드 트렌드 분석)

  • With ubiquitous computing and network, the concern of government, business and academy for IT or ICT convergence has been increased. In this paper, through the analysis of keyword trend for ICT convergence services from 2000's mid, the efficient policy is proposed by estimating the understanding and concern of common people. In addition to, the concept and development step of convergence are analyzed, and the keyword analysis for the ICT convergence services defined in TTA is performed. The services are classified into smart home work transportation, Health ICT, RFID USN, M2M IoT, e-Navigation, intelligent robot, and the keywords for each service are analyzed. The analytic results indicate that the keyword trend varies in the time, and highly indexing keywords and new trend are defined. To provide the efficient ICT services, the new ICT convergence services needed for customer will be proposed with new IT technology development, IT standard, law management, and policy provisioining.

Analysis of Descriptive Lecture Evaluation on Liberal Arts ICT utilization using Topic Modeling (토픽 모델링을 활용한 교양 ICT 활용과정 서술형 강의평가 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify factors in selecting the elective ICT utilization lecture and to find positive and negative elements of the lecture through conducting topic modeling analysis of text mining of the narrative lecture evaluation. In order to do so, from pre-processing of data, keyword frequency analysis to wordcloud visualization and topic modeling analysis have been conducted from 'reasons of selecting the lecture,' 'improvements to be made on the lecture,' and 'what I liked about the lecture' categories regarding the ICT utilization lecture which was opened in the second semester of 2019 at M University. The analysis results show that students mostly registered for the ICT utilization lecture at M University to obtain a certificate and the fact being certified and taking the lecture can be done simultaneously is a positive element of taking the lecture. On the other hand, negative element included inconvenience of the classroom setting environment.

  • In its change in ICT Ecosystem, electronic government changes to its wireless m-Gov from existing PC-based e-Gov. Thus, in order to realize the smart government, m-Gov needs to be vitalized and the strategies for this realization are required. Also, some countermeasures for those strategies and political instructions which the electric government should follows are needed. Above two are the ultimate purpose in pursuing administrative ideals because the realization of m-Gov innovates the government and betters quality of national life off. Therefore, this paper, to realize the smart government, provides some strategies for vitalization of m-Gov's electric government services, their countermeasures, and political instructions for Smart m-Gov.

  • 본 연구에서는 최근 널리 사용되고 있는 QFP(Quad Flat Package)의 소형화 및 대량 생산 Quad chip 공정에서 최종 외관 불량 검사를 위한 기존의 2D 영상 검사 시스템에 3D 영상 검사 시스템을 추가하여 광학 장치를 설계하고 이에 따른 영상처리 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 개발된 검사 장치는 실제 LQFP/TQFP에 생산 공정에 적용되어 불량을 검사에 적용하였으며, 10 회 반복 측정 시 최대 오차는 $1.34{\mu}m$와 측정 오차의 표준편차가 $0.715{\mu}m$으로 요구하는 3차원 불량 검사를 만족할 만한 성능을 보였다.

  • 최근의 국제 올림픽은 첨단 ICT 기술 산업의 경연장으로서 국가적 위상을 고양하고, 산업 측면에서는 자국의 기술 수준을 과시하는 중요한 기회의 장으로 자리매김하고 있다. 또한 국제 올림픽을 위한 ICT 전략은 올림픽 이후 관련 산업에 발전에 적지 않은 영향을 끼칠 수 있어서 각국은 해당 올림픽의 ICT 기술과 전략 개발에 총력을 기울이고 있다. 본 논문에서는 역대 올림픽 ICT 적용 현황을 간략하게 소개하고 이를 바탕으로 평창 동계 올림픽의 ICT 추진 전략을 분석하고자 한다.

  • As ICT Ecosystem does, electronic government changes in its form. Accordingly, in order to realize Smarter m-Gov, the governments need to vitalize m-Gov services and enact technology policy. Therefor, this manuscript suggests possible model of m-Gov realization and security algorithm as a technology policy which applies quantum cryptography system to server security for the construction of secured m-Gov's infrastructure. What the manuscript suggests seeks administrative ideas of Smarter m-Gov's services which contain security, stability, and economic feasibility for the benefits of nation and enterprises.

Simulation of Power Line Communication Slient Node Problem Using OPNET

  • The Information & Communication Technology (ICT) and the Internet of Things (IoT) have become the major issues in Republic of Korea recently. While RS-232, Zigbee, and WiFi-related technologies are used in the ICT-based systems, we focus on the Power Line Communication (PLC) in this paper. By carrying out OPNET simulations, we've implemented the PLC Router Node Model, PLC Terminal Node Model, PLC Link Model, and PLC Palette Model and executed the simulations arranging 20 holds within the range of 400m (20m apart). As a result, we confirmed that the slient node problem had occurred at the point of 200m-2000m (as of 2016) distance preventing further communications. However, the control group, by contrast, was able to carry out the communications by installing a router. We expect that this paper will contribute to the development of a foundation technology which will saves costs by performing the simulation prior to building actual large-scale ICT Complex in the future work.

As progress is being made in the IoT industry, people continue to try converging the IoT and other industries. One good example of such convergence is with sports industry. In this paper, we perform information analysis centered at keyword as a basic research for development of advanced leisure sports industry integrated with the IoT.

Development of Daylighting System with Modified Light Pipe for Longer Transmission Distance and Higher Illuminance

  • In this research, we present a natural lighting system with transmission distance of 30m and lighting efficiency of 35% (30m standard) for operating hours of 7h/day (based on clear sky). The system is composed of parabolic reflective mirror and modified light pipe that can secure more than 88% of light concentration efficiency. The light loss rate of newly designed light pipe transmission system is demonstrated to 0.8 %/m in the straight-line part and 2%/m in the curved part. Modified light pipe daylighting system shows better performance over fiber optic daylighting system in terms of transmission distance (1.5 times longer) and illuminance (3.05 times higher).
