  • This study examined how the participation rates contribute to subjects' outcomes after a nutrition education (once/week) and exercise (3 times/week) intervention program for 12 weeks in 44 obese female subjects. The subjects were divided into two groups: high-participator (HP) or low-participator (LP) groups according to their participation levels based on the median visit value (30 visits out of a total of 48 visits). Daily nutrient intakes assessed by a 24-hour recall, body composition, blood lipid profiles and physical fitness were measured at baseline and after 12 weeks. After the intervention, weight, BMI, percent body fat, and the waist-hip ratio were significantly decreased in the HP group. In addition, the HP group had a greater rates of changes in weight (HP group: -6.6% and LP group: -3.1%, p < 0.01), BMI (-7.0% and -3.2%, p < 0.01), percent body fat (-7.8% and -4.2%, p < 0.05), and waist-hip ratio (-3.1% and -0.4%, p < 0.01) compared to the LP group. Energy-adjusted protein, fiber, potassium, vitamin $B_1$, vitamin $B_6$, and vitamin C were significantly increased in the HP group. The HP group showed a significant increase in HDLcholesterol and a decrease in blood pressure, total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, triglycerides, and atherogenic index (AI). While the muscle endurance, muscle strength, power, agility and flexibility were significantly increased in the HP group, agility and balance were improved in the LP group. In addition, dietary behavior score was significantly increased and stress score decreased in the HP group compared to the LP group. High participation rates were correlated with the improvement of the nutrient density (protein, fiber, potassium, Vitamin $B_1$, Vitamin $B_2$, Vitamin $B_6$ and folate), anthropometric parameters (body weight, BMI and percent body fat), serum lipid profiles (HDL-cholesterol, Triglyceride, and AI) and physical fitness (muscle endurance) adjusted for age, menopausal status, alcohol drinking, nutritional supplement use and baseline BMI. Our results suggest that high participation in nutrition education and exercise program was effective not only for weight reduction but also for the improvement of physical fitness in obese women.

  • The effects of additions of lotus leaf (0.1 and 0.5%) and barley leaf powder (0.1 and 0.5%) on the lipid oxidation and microbiological analysis of raw minced pork were investigated after 1, 4, 7, and 10 d at chilled storage. Days of storage caused (p<0.05) decreases in pH values in samples with lotus leaf (LP) and barley leaf powder (BP). $L^*$ and $a^*$ values decreased, and $b^*$ values increased in the treatments with increasing lotus leaf and barley leaf powder contents, respectively. The decrease in $a^*$ values was lowest (p<0.05) in the treatment with 0.1% BP. Thiobarbituric acid reaction substance values and free fatty acids in 0.5% LP were lowest (p<0.05) on day 10. Thus, the addition of lotus leaf powder significantly improved lipid oxidative stability in the raw minced pork during chilled storage of 10 d. Furthermore, the raw minced pork treatments with LP and BP presented low peroxide values and total microbes as compared to control (-) (without LP and BP). These results indicate that LP and BP can be incorporated into raw minced pork as natural additives to retard oxidation.

  • The combination of Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things (AIoT) has gained significant popularity. Deep neural networks (DNNs) have demonstrated remarkable success in various applications. However, deploying complex AI models on embedded boards can pose challenges due to computational limitations and model complexity. This paper presents an AIoT-based system for smart parking lots using edge devices. Our approach involves developing a detection model and a decision tree for occupancy status classification. Specifically, we utilize YOLOv5 for car license plate (LP) detection by verifying the position of the license plate within the parking space.

  • Allium hookeri, a member of the onion family, has long been mainly cultivated for food and medicinal use in Southeast Asia countries owing to its various biological properties. However, no studies of the anti-inflammatory effects of A. hookeri extracts have been conducted to date. Therefore, this study was investigated the potential of the methanol extract of A. hookeri to suppress the inflammation in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced mouse macrophage RAW264.7 cells. This study was performed on macrophage cells that were pretreated with $0{\sim}500{\mu}g/mL$ of methanol extract of A. hookeri root prior to LPS treatment. Treatment with methanol extract of A. hookeri root significantly inhibited LPS-induced nitric oxide formation in dose-dependent manner. Treatment of A. hookeri root also significantly decreased LPS-induced TNF-${\alpha}$ and IL-6 production. The results of this study provide new evidence of the anti-inflammatory properties of A. hookeri and indicate that it may have a potential therapeutic use for the prevention and treatment of macrophage derived chronic immune diseases.

  • In this paper, we evaluate Boosted 3-D PCA as a Dataset and evaluate its performance. After that, we will analyze the network features and performance. In this paper, the learning was performed using the 300W-LP data set using the same learning method as Boosted 3-D PCA, and the evaluation was evaluated using the AFLW2000 data set. The results show that the performance is similar to that of the Boosted 3-D PCA paper. This performance result can be learned using the data set of face images freely than the existing Landmark-to-Pose method, so that the poses can be accurately predicted in real-world situations. Since the optimization of the set of key points is not independent, we confirmed the manual that can reduce the computation time. This analysis is expected to be a very important resource for improving the performance of network boosted 3-D PCA or applying it to various application domains.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the hematological characteristics and risk factors of hypercholesterolemia(HC) in Korean. 344 adult men who took the annual health check ups at D or J hospitals were participated in this cross sectional study. The subjects were grouped by plasma total cholesterol level into three groups: normal cholesterolemic(n=139), borderline hypercholesterolemic (n=93) and hypercholesterolemic(n=112) groups. The data of systolic and diastolic blood pressure (SBP/DBP), hemoglobin, plasma glucose, albumin and cholesterol levels were collected from medical records. The levels of plasma triglyceride(TG), HDL C, phospholipid, insulin, apo A and apo B were measured. The levels of plasma LDL C, VLDL C and atherogenic index(AI) were calculated. The subjects with HC had significantly higher SBP and DBP, albumin, TG, phospholipid, HDL C, LDL C, VLDL C and apo B level than those of the normal subjects. The relative and attributable risks on HC were 1.59 and 0.18 for hypertension(SBP/DBP$\geq$160/95), 2.08 and 0.35 for hypertriglyceridemia (TG $\geq$400mg/dl). Plasma total cholesterol level was positively correlated with several hematologic parameters: age(r=0.1242, p<0.05), DBP(r=0.1194, p<0.05), albumin(r=0.2029, p<0.001), plasma TG(r= 0.3829, p<0.001), phospholipid(r=0.6036, p<0.001), LDL C(r=0.8572, p<0.001), HDL C(r=0.2399, p< 0.001), AI(r=0.3116, p<0.001), apo B(r=0.2602, p<0.05) and Lp(a)(r=0.1372, p<0.05). However, plasma total cholesterol level was negatively correlated with the levels of Apo A1(r= 0.2922, p<0.001), and ABR(r= 0.3598, p<0.001).

  • Objectives : In this study, the effect of Dipsaci Radix(DR, Dipsacus asperoides C.Y. Cheng et T. M. Ai) water extract on LPS-induced inflammatory response in RAW264.7 cells were investigated. Methods : Dried roots of DR was extracted with water for 3 h(DR-W extract). RAW264.7 cells, a mouse macrophage line, were incubated with different concentrations of DR-W extract for 30 min and then stimulated with LPS at indicated times. Cell toxicity was determined by MTT assay. The concentrations of nitric oxide (NO) and prostaglandin $E_2$ ($PGE_2$) were measured by Griess assay and enzyme immunoassay (EIA), respectively. The expression of inducible nitric oxide synthease (iNOS) and cyclooxyganase (COX)-2 mRNA and protein was determined by RT-PCR and Western blot, respectively. Results : DR-W extract was significantly inhibited LPS-induced productions of NO and PGE2 in RAW264.7 cells. DR-W extract was not suppressed the expressions of iNOS mRNA and protein in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. Conclusions : This study suggests that DR-W extract can attenuate inflammatory response via inhibition of the NO and PGE2 production in activated macrophages.

  • This study attempts to address the problem of 3D pose estimation for multiple human objects through a single image generated during the character development process that can be used in augmented reality. In the existing top-down method, all objects in the image are first detected, and then each is reconstructed independently. The problem is that inconsistent results may occur due to overlap or depth order mismatch between the reconstructed objects. The goal of this study is to solve these problems and develop a single network that provides consistent 3D reconstruction of all humans in a scene. Integrating a human body model based on the SMPL parametric system into a top-down framework became an important choice. Through this, two types of collision loss based on distance field and loss that considers depth order were introduced. The first loss prevents overlap between reconstructed people, and the second loss adjusts the depth ordering of people to render occlusion inference and annotated instance segmentation consistently. This method allows depth information to be provided to the network without explicit 3D annotation of the image. Experimental results show that this study's methodology performs better than existing methods on standard 3D pose benchmarks, and the proposed losses enable more consistent reconstruction from natural images.
