Treatment and management of chronic low back pain (CLBP) should be tailored to the patient's individual context. However, there are limited resources available in which to find and manage the causes and mechanisms for each patient. In this study, we designed and developed a personalized context awareness system that uses machine learning techniques to understand the relationship between a patient's lower back pain and the surrounding environment. A pilot study was conducted to verify the context awareness model. The performance of the lower back pain prediction model was successful enough to be practically usable. It was possible to use the information from the model to understand how the variables influence the occurrence of lower back pain.

Upper wall-lower frame(complex building) can be divided into three partition, namely, upper wall, lower frame, and transfer system which link two partitions. The purpose of this study is to investigate the elasto-plastic response characteristics of structures with variation in the stories of lower frame of complex buildings. The conclusions of this study was following; 1) In the push-over analysis for vertically irregular building, the distribution of lateral forces is judged which consider the effects of higher mode. 2) In proportion as the stories of lower frame increase inter-story displacement of lower frame increased, but that of upper wall decreased. 3) The appearance of yielding hinge with variations in the lower stories of complex buildings differed in lower frame of each model, but was almost the same in upper wall.

Background: Lower trapezius muscle function is important for the prevention and treatment of shoulder injuries. However, scapular posterior tilt movement has been overlooked in lower trapezius strengthening exercise programs. Objective: To examine the effects of prone arm lifting with scapular posterior tilt (PALSPT) on trapezius muscles. Design: Crossover study Methods: 17 healthy males were recruited for participation in this study. Participants performed backward rocking diagonal arm lifting (BRDAL) and PALSPT. To train participants in scapular posterior tilt movements for PALSPT, visual biofeedback of scapular movements was provided using a motion sensor. Electromyography (EMG) activities of the middle and lower trapezius were recorded using a surface EMG system. Differences in middle and lower trapezius muscle activity between BRDAL and PALSPT exercises were analyzed. Results: Lower trapezius muscle activity was significantly greater during PALSPT than during BRDAL (p=.006). Although greater EMG activity was observed in the middle trapezius during PALSPT than during BRDAL, this difference was not significant (p=.055). Conclusions: The results of the present study indicate that scapular posterior tilt movements must be considered in lower trapezius muscle strengthening programs.

Introduction : For stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) of a tumor in the region whose movement due to respiration is significant, like Lung lower lobe, the gated therapy, which delivers radiation dose to the selected respiratory phases when tumor motion is small, was peformed using the Respiratory gating system and its clinical effectiveness was evaluated. Methode and Materials : For two SRS patients with a tumor in Lung lower lobe, a marker block (infrared reflector) was attached on the abdomen. While patient' respiratory cycle was monitored with Real-time Position Management (RPM, Varian, USA), 4D CT was performed (10 phases per a cycle). Phases in which tumor motion did not change rapidly were decided as treatment phases. The treatment volume was contoured on the CT images for selected treatment phases using maximum intensity projection (MIP) method. In order to verify setup reproducibility and positional variation, 4D CT was repeated. Result : Gross tumor volume (GTV) showed maximum movement in superior-inferior direction. For patient $\#$1, motion of GTV was reduced to 2.6 mm in treatment phases ($30\%\~60\%$), while that was 9.4 mm in full phases ($0\%\~90\%$) and for patient $\#$2, it was reduced to 2.3 mm in treatment phases ($30\%\~70\%$), while it was 11.7 mm in full phases ($0\%\~90\%$). When comparing two sets of CT images, setup errors in all the directions were within 3 mm. Conclusion : Since tumor motion was reduced less than 5 mm, the Respiratory gating system for SRS of Lung lower lobe is useful.
Objective: The human body is often modelled as a spring-mass system. Lower extremity stiffness has been considered to be one of key factor in the performance enhancement of running, jumping, and hopping involved sports activities. There are several different classification of lower extremity stiffness consisting of vertical stiffness, leg stiffness, joint stiffness, as well as muscle and tendon stiffness. The primary purpose of this paper was to review the literature and describe different stiffness models and discuss applications of stiffness models while engaging in sports activities. In addition, this paper provided a current update of the lower extremity literature as it investigates the relationships between lower extremity stiffness and both functional performance and injury. Summary: Because various methods for measuring lower extremity stiffness are existing, measurements should always be accompanied by a detailed description including type of stiffness, testing method and calculation method. Moreover, investigator should be cautious when comparing lower extremity stiffness from different methods. Some evidence highlights that optimal degree of lower extremity stiffness is required for successful athletic performance. However, the actual magnitude of stiffness required to optimize performance is relatively unexplored. Direct relationship between lower extremity stiffness and lower extremity injuries has not clearly been established yet. Overall, high stiffness is potentially associate risk factors of lower extremity injuries although some of the evidence is controversial. Prospective injures studies are necessary to confirm this relationship. Moreover, further biomechanical and physiological investigation is needed to identify the optimal regulation of the lower limb stiffness behavior and its impact on athletic performance and lower limb injuries.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the direct measurement data of 20-25 years male university students of 7th Size Korea data and to characterize and to type the body shape of lower body. It was to provide basic data for male university students' pants pattern production. The lower body part consisted of the 'horizontal factor' of the lower body composed of circumference, thickness, width, and 'vertical factor' of the lower body composed of the length and height. This was consistent with the analysis of the body shape factor of the lower half of male adolescents. The lower body shape was classified into four types. Type 1 was thick and relatively long in the lower body and was named 'thick long leg'. Type 2 was named 'short bird legs' because the lower body was thin and relatively short. Type 3 was relatively thin and long, so the lower body was named 'long crane leg'. In Type 4, the lower body was relatively thick and short, which means 'short pillar leg'. In the case of 20-25 year-old male university students, they have different body shapes depending on the girth and length of the lower half of their body as they have reached adulthood. Therefore, it would be necessary to provide a sales system that allows the repair of the length of the pants to be facilitated, and the length of the pants to be repaired when the pants are selected according to the circumference. Future studies will need to classify the body shape according to angle and flatness.

In this paper, lower and upper possibility distributions are identified to reflect two extreme opinions in portfolio selection problems based on upper and lower possibility distributions are formalized as quadratic programming problems. Portfolios for compromising two extreme opinions from upper and lower possibility distributions and balancing the opinions of a group of experts can be obtained by quadratic optimization problems, respectively.
Objectives : Ryodoraku, which is a physiological function test using electric current, is closely related to skin sympathetic tone. Pulse analysis is known to reflect cardiovascular reactivity. Refer to the previous researches Ryodoraku and pulse analysis have value as tools for diagnosing respiratory diseases. In this study we examined the diagnostic values of Ryodoraku and pulse analysis for respiratory disease patients. Methods : For this study. we conducted Ryodoraku and pulse analysis on 114 people, including 83 respiratory disease outpatients and 31 volunteers who did not have any respiratory symptoms or disease history. The respiratory patients were divided into three subgroups according to their symptoms: rhinorrhea group, cough-sputum group and wheezing-dyspnea group. Then we compared the disease groups with the control group. Results : When all experimental groups were compared with the control group, mean Ryodoraku was significantly lower. Mean H2, mean H3 and mean H6 were significantly lower in the rhinorrhea group (P<0.05), all the test results of Ryodoraku were evidently lower in the cough-sputum group (P<0.01), and most results of Ryodoraku were evidently lower in the wheezing-dyspnea group except H1 (P<0.01). Compared with the control group on pulse analysis, mean YP+/YP- was significantly lower in the wheezing-dyspnea group (P<0.05). Conclusion : Ryodoraku and pulse analysis were found to have a high value as quantitative diagnosis tools reflecting individuals' weakness and firmness. Nevertheless, more research is needed to find the further values.
Objective: This study was conducted to determine the seasonal characteristics of odorous material emissions from a swine finishing barn equipped with a continuous pit recirculation system (CPRS) using aerobically treated manure. Methods: The CPRS consists of an aerobic manure treatment process and a pit recirculation system, where the solid fraction is separated and composted. The aerated liquid fraction (290.0%±21.0% per day of total stored pig slurry) is continuously recirculated to the top of the slurry in the pit. Four confinement pig barns in three piggery farms were used: two were equipped with CPRS, and the other two operated a slurry pit under the slatted floor across all seasons. Results: The indoor, exhaust, and outside odor intensities were significantly lower in the CPRS group than in the control group (p<0.001). In the CPRS group, the odor intensity outside was significantly lower in the fall than in the other seasons (p = 0.015). In the indoor atmosphere, the temperature and CO2, NH3, and H2S contents of the CPRS group were significantly lower than those of the control group (p<0.05). In the CPRS group, indoor temperature did not significantly change in the spring, summer, and fall seasons and was significantly lower in the winter (p = 0.002). NH3, H2S, methyl mercaptan, dimethyl disulfide, trimethylamine, phenol, indole, and skatole levels were significantly lower in the CPRS group than in the control group (p<0.05). There were significant seasonal differences on the odorous material in both the control and CPRS groups (p<0.05), but the pattern was not clear across seasons. Conclusion: The CPRS can reduce the indoor temperature in the summer to a level similar to that in the spring and fall seasons. The CPRS with aerated liquid manure is expected to reduce and maintain malodorous emissions within acceptable limits in swine facilities.
