LPG기관의 부분부하 조건에서 수소 혼합에 따른 성능 및 배출가스 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Performance and Emission Characteristics with Hydrogen Enrichment at Part Load Conditions Using a LPG Engine)

  • The purpose of this study is to obtain low-emission and high-efficiency by hydrogen enriched LPG fuel in LPG engine and is to clarify the effects of hydrogen enrichment in LPG fuelled engine on exhaust emission and performance. An experimental study was carried out to obtain fundamental data for performance and emission characteristics of hydrogen enrichment in LPG engine. The research was held by changing the hydrogen ratio to 0, 5, 10, 20% in 1500rpm, bmep 2 and 4bar. The result turned out that the combustion duration was shortened due to fast flame propagation of hydrogen. And the amount of Carbon dioxide and Hydrocarbon decreased. However, the amount of NOX increased, which is thought to be the result of high adiabatic flame temperature of hydrogen. It has been confirmed that this phenomenon has changed by the Hydrogen mixing ratio.

열가소성 분말 코팅소재 제조 및 난연특성 연구 (A Study on the Preparation of Thermoplastic Powder Coating Material and Its Flame Retardancy)

  • The purpose of this study is application to flame retardant powder coating(FRPC) material consisting of ammonium polyphosphate(APP) and magnesium hydroxide($Mg(OH)_2$) as a halogen free flame retardant into thermoplastic resin(LDPE-g-MAH). For improvement of adhesion, LDPE-g-MAH was synthesized from low density polyethylene(LDPE) and maleic anhydride(MAH). The mechanical properties as melt flow index, pencil hardness, cross-hatch adhesion and impact resistance of FRPC were measured. Also, the limited oxygen index(LOI) values were measured 17.3vol%, 31.1vol% and 33.7vol% for LDPE-g-MAH, FRPC-3(APP 15wt%, $Mg(OH)_2$ 15wt%) and FRPC-5(APP 30 wt%), respectively. The thermo gravimetry/differential thermal analysis(TG/DTA) of FPRC-3 was observed endothermic peak at $340^{\circ}C$ and $450^{\circ}C$, it was confirmed predominant thermal stability though the wide temperature range by APP and $Mg(OH)_2$. It was showed V-0 grade for FRPC-3 and FRPC-4(APP 20wt%, $Mg(OH)_2$ 10wt%) that a char formation and drip suppressing effect, and combustion time reduced by UL94(vertical burning test). It was confirmed that flame retardancy was improved with the synergy effect because of char formation by APP and $Mg(OH)_2$.

  • 파이로스타터는 일종의 가스발생기로써, 내부에 충전되는 저온 고체 추진제의 연소가스를 통해 시동에 필요한 에너지를 터빈에 공급한다. 파이로스타터의 연소관에 충전된 저온 고체추진제를 연소시키기 위한 초기 에너지를 공급해 주기 위해서는 파이로스타터 및 고체추진제의 특성과 형상에 맞는 점화기 설계가 필요하다. 이에 C.B.T 시험을 수행하여 초기 연소실 내부의 충분한 압력 증가를 확보할 수 있는 점화기의 주요 설계 인자를 결정하였다. 파이로스타터의 연계연소시험을 통해 신뢰성 있는 점화 특성을 확인하였고, 점화장약 충전량에 대한 간단한 해석을 수행하였다.

주변난류유동이 단일액적의 증발에 미치는 영향에 대한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Study for Ambient Turbulence Effects on a Single Droplet Vaporization)

  • This investigation reports on the study of the ambient turbulent effects on the droplet vaporization in the fuel spray combustion. For tractability, this discussion considers a single droplet in an infinite turbulent flow. In this numerical study, the low-Reynolds-number version of k-.epsilon. turbulence model was used to represent the turbulence effects. The set of two-dimensional conservation equations which describe the transport phenomena in turbulent flow using the mean flow quantities including the droplet internal laminar motion, are solved numerically with the finite difference procedure of Patankar(SIMPLER). The evaluation of the computational model is provided by two limiting cases: turbulent flow over the solid sphere and the laminar flow over a liquid drop. The results show that the turbulence effects are noticeable for the vaporization at high turbulence intensity (10-50%) which is encountered in a typical spray. The magnitude of turbulence effects mainly depends on the turbulent intensity. These effects are not sensitive to the Reynolds number in the range of 50 to 200, ambient temperature in the range of 700 to 1000.deg. K and the volatility.

  • As the environmental pollution becomes serious global problem, the regulation of emission exhausted from automobiles is strengthened. Therefore, it is very important to know how to reduce the NOx and PM simultaneously in diesel engines, which has lot of merits such as high thermal efficiency, low fuel consumption and durability. By this reason, the new concept called as Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition(HCCI) engines are spotlighted because this concept reduced NOx and P.M. simultaneously. However, there is trade off between output and NOx in a HCCI engine. In this study, output and emission characteristics for a gasoline direct injection type HCCI engine were investigated to clarify the effects of intake air temperature, injection time and mixture formation. From these experiments, we found that the smoke was not produced when the fuel was injected earlier than BTDC 90$^{\circ}$. In addition, the output was increased because of delay of ignition time and NOx emission was decreased because of homogeneous charge of first injection in case of split injection.

고온에서의 예혼합 초소형 화염의 연소안정한계 연구 (Stability limits of premixed microflames at elevated temperatures)

  • In order to provide the database for designing microcombustors, the combustion characteristics of premixed methane and propane air microflames at normal and elevated temperatures and atmospheric pressure generated on a microtube were studied experimentally and computationally. The stability limits of premixed microflames and the propensity of the microflames near the stability limits were experimentally determined, while the structure of the microflame at the fuel-leanest limit was obtained using a two-dimensional CFD simulation with a reduced kinetic mechanism. For all the microflames, the stability limits were observed only in the fuel-rich region. Results also show substantial extension of stability limits with elevated temperature that is realistic condition for micro fuel processing and significant fuel dilution immediately near the tube exit due to a low Peclet number times Lewis number effect.

평판형 접촉연소식 마이크로 수소센서의 감지특성 향상 (Improved hydrogen sensing characteristics of flat type catalytic combustible hydrogen gas sensor of micro-structure)

  • Flat type catalytic combustible hydrogen sensors were fabricated using platinum micro-heaters and sensing material pastes. The platinum micro-heater was formed on an alumina substrate by sputtering method. The paste for the sensing materials was prepared using ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ 30 wt%, $SnO_2$ 35 wt%, and Pd/Pt 30 wt% and coated on the platinum micro-heater. The sensing performances were tested for the prepared sensors with different substrate sizes. The micro catalytic combustible hydrogen sensors showed quick response time, high reliability, and good selectivity against various gases(CO, $C_3H_8,\;CH_4$) at low operating temperature of $156^{\circ}\C$.

  • The main cause of scattering dust generated by transportation equipment such as automobiles was largely due to exhaust gas from internal combustion engines in the past, but it was generally recognized that non-exhaust causes such as abrasion of the tires or brake pads were low. Accordingly, scattering dust generated by exhaust gas has consistently existed in many studies, such as technological progress and related regulations, but research on non-exhaust is relatively insignificant, and the need for research on scattering dust generated by non-exhaust is emerging. In this study, a dust collector that can be easily mounted on a caliper to collect scattering dust generated by pad wear during the brake operation of an automobile was manufactured. In this study, we developed a dust collector that is easy to mount on calipers to collect scattering dust caused by pad wear during brake operation of automobiles. According to the installation of the manufactured dust collector, the performance of scattering dust by brake operation and the temperature change characteristics of calipers according to the structure of the dust collector were evaluated.

플라즈마 용융 공정시의 폐열 재활용 연구 (A Study on Waste Heat Recycling of Plasma Melting System)

  • 플라즈마 용융로에 설치된 폐열 보일러를 실측치와 근접한 모의 보일러를 설계하여 CFD(전산유체역학) 프로그램을 이용하여 얻어진 보일러 내에서의 유해가스발생 및 열 유동현상에 대한 열 설계 능력 확보와 폐열보일러 효율 개선에 대한 연구를 수행하는데 목적이 있다. 보일러 내에서의 온도변화 및 연소가스의 공기 유동, 부식성 가스의 영향으로 인해 보일러 내부에서의 부식위치 및 클링커 생성여부에 관한 연구를 통해 효율적인 보일러의 구조 설계 및 에너지 재활용방안에 이용하고자 한다. 연구결과 플라즈마 용융로에 설치된 보일러 설비는 2차 연소로 출구에서 배출되는 약 $1,200^{\circ}C$의 연소가스를 약 $450^{\circ}C$까지 냉각시킬 수 있는 설계조건을 만족시켰다. 반면 유해가스 유동 결과 보일러 입구 부분의 상단부와 하단부에 부식성 가스 (SOx, HCl)의 영향으로 인하여 부식 및 클링커 생성이 보일러의 다른 위치보다 쉽게 발생될 것으로 예상된다. 이로 인해 보일러 내 외관벽의 부식으로 보일러의 수명 단축 및 효율적인 폐열을 재활용 할 수 없다고 예상된다. 이에 따른 저온 및 고온 부식 방지대책에 대한 세심한 고려가 필요하다 하겠다.

공연비 변화가 MILD 연소 특성에 미치는 영향에 관한 해석적 연구 (A numerical study of the air fuel ratio effect on the combustion characteristics in a MILD combustor)

  • 연소과정 중에 발생하는 질소산화물을 저감하는 기술인 MILD 연소에 대하여 공연비를 변화시키면서 나타나는 연소 특성을 수치해석을 통하여 연구하였다. 작은 크기의 공기분출속도(10 m/s)에서는 공기가 연소로 내 상부영역까지 침투하지 못한다. 반면에 공기분출속도가 30 m/s인 경우에는 공기유동이 연료유동을 억제하고 상부영역까지 흘러간다. 이론공기량에 해당하는 공기분출속도 18 m/s에서는 10 m/s 보다 상대적으로 상부영역까지 침투하였다. 이러한 유동 양상으로 공기분출속도가 작은 10 m/s에서는 연소반응대가 공기노즐 측에 치우쳐 나타나고 30 m/s에서는 연료노즐 측에 형성되었다. 공기분출속도 16, 18, 20 m/s에서는 공기노즐과 연료노즐 중간 영역에서 연소반응대가 형성되었다. 연소로 내 최대온도와 NOx 생성은 공기분출속도가 10 m/s, 30 m/s인 경우 보다 이론공기량이거나 이에 가까운 16, 18, 20 m/s에서 낮게 나타났다. 본 연구로부터 MILD 연소로에서 이론공기량 조건이 NOx를 저감하는 최적의 조건이라는 것을 밝혔다.
